Chapter 10: Swing and a Miss

Joanne Frances Tiano Cajilig: I love this chapter and story!
Dragon Emperor0: Glad to see that this seems to be the general consensus on this story.
ThermalsniperN7: It is a bit of a refresher.
Devil Dragon Stand Knight: I hope Monoma gets fucked up and then expelled.
Dragon Emperor0: I honestly don't think that would happen, especially with how the Manga is panning out.
ThermalsniperN7: For the part about him being expelled. Him getting fucked up, on the other hand…

Inside the dome of ice mirrors that Shoto had just conjured with his ice release techniques, team Todoroki and Midoiya squared off against each other–with Izuku having his war fan out and at the ready.
"Alright, Todoroki, you wanna dance? Fine." The Uchiha boy said, twirling his fan as he activates his Mangekyou Sharingan. "Let's dance." He added.
Without even saying a word, Todoroki sent a wave of ice at Izuku's team, who dodged the attack that was sent their way. Though after this, they immediately proceeded to stay on the two-toned boy's left side, which proved to be a major annoyance to their enemy since he was limited to one attack now.
"Stay back!" Izuku yelled as Tokoyami had Dark Shadow rear up in front of them.
'Damn it, he's staying to my left side. If he does that–I'll hit Iida if I freeze them.' Shoto cursed mentally as he looked at Kaminari. 'What's worse, I used too much Chakra to erect this dome. So I can't use another jutsu. And Kaminari's voltage limit is getting closer and with Tokoyami and Midoiya's wood style blocking his attacks, we can't stun him.' He thought as he glared at his opponent. 'The bastard.'
"Everyone, listen." Iida began, getting everyone's attention. "I'm going to do something that will make me useless to you for a while." He told them, causing them to blink.
"What are you talking about?" Kaminari asked.
"There's less than sixty seconds, so I don't have enough time to explain everything." The bespectacled boy said as he got ready. "Just brace yourselves and make sure you get that headband." He ordered.
Meanwhile with Izuku, his Sharingan was quick to notice the tension in Iida's body–and it allowed his brain to know exactly what he was about to do. And the knowledge made his eyes grow as wide as saucers.
'Shit, I don't know how to counter that!' The green haired teen thought in alarm.
"Torque overload!" The speedster yelled as his mufflers became white hot. And in a flash, he blasted past the opposing team. "Recipro Burst!" He added.
"WHOA! What just happened?! I can hear things in that dome, but I can't see anything!" Present Mic exclaimed as he tried to see through the dome.
"I can't see anything either." Aizawa said as he looked at the dome. However, seconds later, said dome was suddenly engulfed in pitch black flames–which caused the ice to start rapidly melting. "Although I think that's about to change." He deadpanned.
(Flashback, a short while earlier)
After the blur that was Iida and his team passed by Izuku, Shoto stood there clutching what looked like the ten million point headband.
As both teams got their bearings, Izuku looked over his shoulder and glared daggers at Iida and Shoto as his Mangekyou Sharingan burned into them.
"That was a cheap trick, Iida." The Uchiha growled.
"It was the only shot we had, Midoriya." The blue haired lad said as he turned to him with a smirk. "I told you I would–" He started to add before he noticed something wasn't right. "Wait a minute, why do you still have the headband?" He questioned, causing his teammates to look at the Sharingan user and widen their eyes.
"But-But we have it!" Kaminari exclaimed in disbelief.
"Look again." Izuku told them as he pointed at Shoto's hand, then moved his fingers to the side, prompting them to look and see that his hand was empty!
"What?! How?!" The fire-ice user shouted in shock.
"Kamui. That's how." The green haired teen shot back. While he was gathering himself after Iida's speed burst, he noticed that they had gone through him altogether, making him realize that he had likely unlocked another Sharingan ability: Close Range Kamui.
Shoto looked at the boy and felt absolutely dumbfounded.
"Now." Izuku said as he closed his left eye and held up his right fingers. "Amaterasu." He intoned as he opened his right eye–causing the ice dome to erupt with black fire.

Meanwhile with Katsuki's team, the explosive Jinchuriki glared missiles at Monoma's team. The little bastard had the audacity to taunt him! He wouldn't let that go, and he had serious plans to get his lost points back.
"Kirishima, get ready to brace me–I'm gonna end this fool's whole career." The pomeranian blonde told his front horse.
"You got it." The redhead said as he cracked his neck with a grin. Had this been another timeline, he would've been reluctant. Here, however… With his chakra training and Son Goku by his side, he was pretty damn confident.
"Here I go!" Katsuki yelled as he launched himself forward towards Monoma and then held up his hand, which had four explosive clay spiders between his fingers. "Go!" He added, making a hand sign and causing the spiders to pop to life and latch onto the rest of the team.
"What the–? What are these?" One of Monoma's teammates wondered, though the blonde himself looked at Bakugo arrogantly as he returned to his team.
"Clay spiders? Is that really the best you can do? This isn't elementary school." He taunted, only for Katsuki to smirk and say one thing.
"Katsu." He said, causing the spiders to explode. He made sure to tone down the explosive force for the sake of the tournament to avoid any risks.
This caused the team to start to lose their balance, allowing Katsuki to fly straight forward to them–before hitting a wall of solid air. Undeterred by the obstruction, Katsuki then started gathering Chakra into his palm, and then it started to swirl into a sphere!
"Whoa, hey, wait a sec! Is Bakugo doing what I think he's doing?!" Present Mic exclaimed as he turned his attention to the red eyed teen's team.
"I think so." The Erasure hero nodded as he looked at Katsuki with wide eyes. He had done some research on Jutsu in his younger years, and instantly recognized what the explosive pomeranian was doing… and would be a huge liar if he said he wasn't impressed.
"Here it is, Rasengan!" The boy yelled as he slammed his palm and the sphere of Chakra into the sheet of air glass and shattered it on impact, allowing him to grab several of the headbands and tear them away from Monoma.
"Damn it!" Monoma cursed, not expecting that to happen as the Jinchuriki returned to his team. Now his team only had one headband left, and it only got them somewhere in the 100 point section.
"Uh, Monoma, I don't think we can handle that guy again!" One of his teammates said warily.
"We need to retreat, if we hang on to this headband for dear life we'll advance. Come on guys." The blonde ordered as they ran away.
Back with Katsuki's team, the blonde grinned as he looked at his teammates. "Alright guys, we're gonna press the attack and get our points back. Kirishima, Toga, Sero, you ready to kick some ass?" He asked with a grin.
"Fuck yeah, let's go!" Himiko said as she grinned like a cat.
"Let's get this party started!" Sero exclaimed in agreement.
"Let's go!" Kirishima grinned in excitement.
"Sero!" Katsuki called.
"Right!" The tape armed teen nodded as he shot a stream of tape at the ground and started pulling them along.
"Kirishima!" He added.
"You got it! Lava Style!" The redhead intoned as he started melting the ground with his lava release.
"Better get ready cat eyes!" Katsuki told the blonde.
"It's Himiko Toga!" The cat-like blonde exclaimed but threw out her knives ahead of them, and they were connected to ninja wire, so she could help Sero pull them along.
Katsuki then started using his explosions to send the four of them careening forward at high speed. Monoma's teammate tried to use a solid air wall to stop him, but the Jinchuriki just blasted through it like cheap glass and snatched their last headband from them.

Meanwhile back with Izuku and his team, Izuku grinned as he saw Shoto and his team stand there in stunned disbelief upon realizing that their all or nothing gamble just failed miserably.
"I… I can't believe this just happened!" Momo uttered with wide eyes.
"Blast it all!" Iida hissed, cursing how hasty they had been.
"And that's checkmate." Izuku said as he readied himself to attack again. "Alright everyone, forward!" He ordered.
"Right!" His team chorused before they charged at Shoto's team. Up in the stands, Endeavor watched the whole thing with irritation.
'You learned to use chakra, and he's still making you look like a fool.' He thought as he clenched his fists. He knew Izuku had been using chakra for far longer than most of class 1-A was, according to what he managed to glean from his son during his training, but he was still irritated by what was happening.
"Wood Style: Wood Dragon Jutsu!" Izuku yelled as he sent the attack at the immobilized Team Todoroki.
Iida tried to get away while Momo also tried to create something to block the attack, but when she tried, a shadow tendril suddenly grabbed the three horses shadows and immobilized them.
They then looked at the opposing team and saw that Tokoyami was making a one handed hand seal, with Dark Shadow completing it with his other hand.
"Ninja Art: Shadow Chain Jutsu." The bird man stated.
"Aw man! Why did Tokoyami have to learn some Nara clan Jutsu?!" Kaminari complained. He wasn't the best at academic studies, sure, but even he could easily remember what kind of Jutsu the Nara clan had at their disposal.
"This is bad…!" Shoto got out through gritted teeth as the Wood Jutsu got closer to his team.
Deciding to throw caution to the wind, Shoto dug deep and made another set of hand signs before he took a deep breath.
"Ice Style: North Wind Blizzard Jutsu!" He yelled as a blast of icy wind hit the Wood Dragon and froze it in a block of ice, which fell into several pieces.
But this was soon revealed to be an elaborate smoke screen, because as soon as the wood construct was gone, team Midoiya was quick to flank the opposing team–Izuku having his right arm in a wood cast at the ready and coursing with One for All.
'I might still be in first place, but I'll need some reserve points ready in case I somehow lose my ten million headband!' Izuku thought as his team surged forward, the teen noting Shoto raising his left hand, which had flames coming off of them. As they got closer together, Izuku swiped his hand to the side, breaking his opponent's guard and giving him a window to snatch a headband from the two-toned teen.
"Got it!" He yelled as he pulled the headband back… Revealing it to be a fifty point headband. "... Not what I was wanting, but okay." The Uchiha shrugged.
"Time's up!" Mic exclaimed as the buzzer sounded. This made Katsuki's team screech to a halt since they had made a beeline for Izuku's team when they were done with Monoma's team. As everyone, for lack of a better term, disassembled from the Calvary Battle, they started talking amongst themselves. Iida in particular looked pretty bummed out at his team's complete blunder.
"I'm sorry, everyone. I let you all down." The speedster sighed.
"It's not your fault, Iida, you couldn't have known what Midoiya was going to do to counter your special move." Momo told him comfortingly.
"Yeah. None of us could." Kaminari added. Shoto, meanwhile, looked at his left hand like it was a curse.
'In that one moment, I let my guard down and used my left side. I broke my own promise…' He thought, clenching his left hand into a fist as he recalled how he defended himself against Izuku as he advanced.
Meanwhile with Izuku, his team was congratulating each other, when Himiko suddenly came up behind him and hugged his neck.
"Congrats on the win, babe." She purred into his ear, causing him to blush a bit from the contact.
"Th-thanks, Himiko." He stuttered lightly, causing the two tails Jinchuriki and gravity gal to chuckle at his reaction.

Later on while everyone was getting lunch, Izuku had been pulled aside by Shoto into a faculty entrance hallway. This was rather poor timing as the green haired lad had promised to eat lunch with Ochako and Himiko–and do something with them before the next match that the two framed as rather important.
"Alright, you got me here alone. Now what?" The Uchiha questioned as he stood across from Shoto.
The two toned boy didn't reply, he just stared at him with a cold intimidation type glare.
"Look, if you're going to try and scare me." He stated as he activated his Sharingan. "You should know I can do this all day." He added.
"... You beat me again." Shoto finally spoke after a few beats passed.
"Yes, because you and your team made the mistake of underestimating the competition." Izuku said in an almost chastising manner.
"When you attacked, I was overwhelmed–and I ended up breaking a promise that I made to myself a long time ago." The cryo-pyromancer stated. Izuku frowned as he noticed something.
"You sound like Subaku no Gaara, almost." He noted, causing Shoto to raise an eyebrow.
"What?" He asked, not seeing the point in that comparison.
"The third Kazekage of the Sand Village. The first Jinchuriki of Shukaku." Izuku replied. "I don't know why, but I have a feeling that I'm going to find you two similar."
"O…Kay…?" The two-toned boy said in confusion but shrugged it off. "Anyway… When you used your quirk against me, I noticed something. It felt like All Might's." He said, causing the atmosphere to become tense as Izuku looked nervous. "Midoriya… Are you All Might's secret love child or something?" He questioned, dispelling the tension around them and replacing the Uchiha's nervous face with a dumbfounded one.
'Am I… WHAT?!' He thought with comically wide eyes. After a moment, he clapped his hands together and took a breath. "... Boiiii." He began, chopping his clapped hands forward. "Let me ask you something, Todoroki. Does All Might have the Sharingan? Or use chakra, for that matter?" He questioned, causing Shoto to blink.
"Uh… No?" He replied somewhat awkwardly.
"Well there's your answer." Izuku nodded. "Though I can see why you would think that, given the relationship I have with him. I can assure you, however, that I'm not related to him by blood. Me having a similar quirk like his own is just coincidence." He added, coming up with a cover story to keep One for All secret.
"..." Shoto seemed skeptical of what he was saying for a minute or two before deciding to shrug it off. "My father is the Flame Hero: Endeavor, you must have heard of him."
"Kinda hard not to." Izuku nodded. "Why?" He then asked.
"My old man is ambitious. He always aims for the top no matter what. But he could never surpass All Might, so the Symbol of Peace is living proof of his failure." Shoto replied. "He fights to become the best, by any means necessary." He continued.
"What does that have to do with this conversation?" Izuku questioned with a frown as he felt a sinking feeling in his gut.
"Tell me, how familiar are you with quirk marriages?" Shoto questioned, bringing up the next point in his story.
"I know a good bit about them. Why are you…" The Uchiha progeny started to ask before realization made him trail off. "He fucking didn't…!" He almost growled in anger.
"People often viewed them as old-fashioned arranged marriages when they first came around. As you may have guessed, myself and my siblings are the result of one. A marriage made solely to create an heir to surpass All Might." The two toned boy nodded.
'Son of a bitch…' Izuku cursed mentally as the parallels made themselves known. 'He's like a comic book character with a troubled past. He's even fighting to rise above it.' He noted.
"You surely understand, don't you?" Shoto questioned. "You're the heir to three lineages, and the pupil of the number one hero. The weight of their legacies on your shoulders." He added.
"Yeah… I do understand." Izuku said softly. Ever since he found out about his three lineages, he's felt their weight on his shoulders throughout his life. He strives to meet his three clan's expectations, and he will meet them in his own way.
"So we have even more reason to beat each other." Shoto nodded. "So I hope you're ready to go all out against me." He added as he started walking away. Unknown to the two of them, Katsuki had listened in on the conversation when his original purpose had been to confront Izuku on something… He nearly faceplanted onto the ground when Shoto asked if the Uchiha was All Might's love child.
'Where the hell did icy-hot even get that from?!' He thought, completely bewildered by that thought as he walked away..
"I'm genuinely surprised he thought that muscular oaf could be an Uchiha. He is literally the polar opposite of them!" Kurama chimed in, voicing his surprise on the matter. All Might being an Uchiha descendant just seemed… Impossible, given his personality.
Back with Izuku, he quickly caught up with Shoto. He had some words of his own to say.
"I know my reasons for being a hero may seem stupid compared to yours. But I can't lose this either. You declared war on me earlier, well right back at you." The boy stated, a determined look on his face.
(Later)
After talking to Shoto, Izuku was now with Ochako and Himiko towards the back of the common area. "Wait, so what is it you needed us for, Himiko?" Ochako asked her friend.
"I… I need some of your blood." The blonde replied, causing them to blink. "I would've used my gum, but I ran out before the Cavalry Battle and the craving started just after it finished." She explained.
This request gave the two teenagers a bit of pause, like any normal kid they were uneasy by letting someone draw their blood—even if said someone was their shared lover. But then they started thinking.
Himiko had told them multiple times that to her, drinking the blood of those she loved was the greatest expression of that love, besides perhaps sex. And it was this fact that allowed the two to come to a silent agreement as to their answers.
Izuku looked at Ochako and then his very thirsty looking, blushing bakeneko girlfriend, before he pulled down the right side of his track jacket, exposing his neck to her. He looked her in the eyes and said only one thing.
"Go ahead. Drink up." He told her encouragingly. Himiko looked shocked at what he had just said while Ochako seemed relieved that her friend wouldn't have to suffer. Hesitantly, the girl got in the boy's lap before leaning in and sinking her teeth into the nape of his neck and his shoulder, hard. "Rgh!" He grunted, unused to this sort of pain as his girlfriend drank some of his blood to satisfy her craving.
After a bit, she pulled away but didn't feel like getting out of his lap. She felt too comfy right now. "Thank you, Izuku." She sighed as Ochako joined them. The blonde looked at her for a second as she too showed the vampiric girl her neck.
"You… you can drink my blood too, if you want. I don't mind if it's you." Ochako told her, her face beat red in embarrassment.
"Ochako…" Himiko whispered with a bigger shocked look. After a moment, she moved herself into her bestie's lap and bit down into the same spot she had done with Izuku.
"Ngh!" The brunette grunted from the feeling of being bitten. Himiko didn't like the sound of that, from neither her nor Izuku, but she still drank some of her blood. Once she had her fill, she pulled away and sat between the two of them.
"Thank you, both of you." The blonde said gratefully as she hugged them tightly, before she kissed them. Izuku first and then Ochako, but no matter the order, both of them were passionate—to the point where the two on the receiving end were worried that someone in the cafeteria would see. And yet, by some fucking miracle, no one did and Izuku was pretty sure he didn't cast a Genjutsu over the three of them, either.
A bit later, it was time for them to head back after lunch was over. Though, little did everyone know of the crazy surprises that would be unfolding when they got there that day.
Dragon Emperor0: Chapter 10 of Uchiha: Reborn done, and we have it perfectly set up for us basically have the entire first half of the tournament part of the festival done in one go. That's even more efficient than in Fox Sin. We're definitely getting better with pacing lately.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah we are. It's actually kinda nice, knowing that. Anyway, does anybody think that it was sweet of Izuku and Ochako to willingly give Himiko some of their blood so she wouldn't suffer? That's just pure love and care right there.
Dragon Emperor0: Not to mention that it helps reshape her canon desire into something much more wholesome in a way. I mean, sure it's a bit like a sexual fetish to an extent, but look at Rosario + Vampire, Moka has the same desire as Himiko and it's framed as completely wholesome! So for anyone who wants to tell me I'm wrong—don't even try.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah, what he said. And then there's Shoto thinking Izuku is All Might's secret love child… I don't even know where he got that impression when there are so many signs that say otherwise, some of which have been stated already.
Dragon Emperor0: That "Boi" got me so bad. Anyway guys, see you next time.
