Rise of The Hero
Chapter 2 : New World
The sun rose up high in the sky of Musutafu, Japan. People could be seen walking their way to work, some heroes can be spotted patrolling around, helping people in need. Without anyone realising, up above them all, on top of a building, a portal suddenly formed. After a few seconds, the portal grew bigger, until it was big enough to be entered by two people. A silhouette of a man formed from the inside, before slowly started moving, walking its way out from the portal. Out of the dark circle portal, came the figure of Gohan wearing a plain white undershirt, brown bomber jacket, and dark brown cargo pants. A red staff could be seen attached on the back of his jacket.
Once he stepped out from the portal, his eyes went wide as soon as he saw the new world in front of him. Observing the new world from the top of the building, he could feel the gentle wind touching his face, moving his hair back and front.
"It's not that different from my world." He commented casually, despite his excited reaction. "My world looks more futuristic though, but this is nice, looks like a peaceful world. Right Kitoki?" He said as he stood on the edge of the building, observing the busy crowd below.
"Well, you'll learn more about this world in a few days, Gohan." Kitoki stepped out from the portal, and walked towards the Saiyan as the portal behind him disappeared. He placed himself beside Gohan and doing the same thing the Saiyan had been doing, observing the crowd and the world in front of them.
Silence came between the two, until Kitoki started to talk. "I think I should go now. Pretty sure you can go learning about this world by yourself." His left hand opened another portal beside him before he started walking towards it. Before he got inside the portal, Kitoki turned back to see Gohan. "I'm going to Lord Beerus' planet, to inform Goku about your leaving. I wish you luck Gohan. Save this world, and be a hero."
"Thank you Kitoki. And don't worry, I will save this world." Gohan responded with that confident smile identical to his father, that same smile gave Kitoki the confidence that maybe he made the right decision to leave the fate of this world to Gohan, maybe he could really save this world despite the future he'd already seen. Kitoki turned his back, facing the portal, and walked into it. After a few seconds he disappeared with the portal in thin air. Leaving only Gohan in the new world.
"Now... how do I get down from here?" Gohan asked to himself as he looked to his right and left, trying to find a way to go down. He can't just jump right into the crowd down there, even though this world had some people with super powers, it would still startle them if all of a sudden a man jumped into them from top of a fifteen floor building.
So, he tried to find a way to go down unnoticed, and finally found it. On the right side of the building, there was a small alley he could use. Gohan walked towards the right side of the building, after reaching the edge, he jumped down into the alley without a second thought. When his feet was about to touch the ground, he slowed down using his ability to float in the air. He landed quietly, and started walking to the street, blending in with the crowd.
While walking down the street, Gohan's eyes both opened wide seeing the heroes of this world doing their job. Saw a hero helping an elderly lady to cross the street, some other showing a direction to an elderly man. He thought this world was quite unique and different as the inhabitants possessed some kind of super human abilities, it was like he somehow forgot his experience in planet Namek and the Kais.
After walking around for a few minutes, Gohan found a pile of city maps inside a box in a bus stop. Writings in the box said "Free", so he decided to pick one map, and read it. It was surprising to know that the writings in this world were the same with his world. It made him easier to understand the map. After a few seconds, he finally found the place he was looking for, the city library.
Being in a new world he had never knew before, of course the first thing he'd do was to learn everything about this world, and library was the best option for that. So he decided to follow the map and head to the city library.
Along his way to the library, Gohan saw countless numbers of posters and advertisements with some heroes in it. But there was one hero with blonde hair, red and blue tight suit almost in every posters and ads. Even the big screen on a building was showing this man. This made him wondering about who this guy was, and why was he so popular, although he already had some ideas in his mind.
After a few minutes, Gohan finally arrived at the front gates of the library. He folded up his map and put it in his jacket pocket. He did the same thing with his magical staff, Nyoibou. When no one saw, he put down the nyoibou and threw an empty capsule into it. A cloud of smokes appeared a few seconds after the capsule was thrown, after the smoke dissipated, the nyoibou was nowhere to be found. The magical stuff was stored inside the capsule which then he put it in his jacket's pocket. After he would be done with his preparations, Gohan stepped in through the opened gate, and went into the library.
Inside the library, he was amazed by the setting. His eyes widened as he saw all of the bookshelf in front of him. It wasn't like that he never went into a library before, with his mom's methods of studying, he spent most his time in library when he was in high school. But compared to this city library, his high school's library looked like a little book store.
"May I help you sir?" Voice of a woman could be heard from his side. He turned, and found a beautiful woman dressed in a black suit with a matching skirt. She held both of her hands in front, to show some respect to the library's visitor.
"Oh, I'm sorry, um... can you show me where I can find books about histories of this city? Oh also the books about government system?" He responded with a smile on his face and hand scratching the back of his head.
"Of course, follow me sir." Said the lady as she walked to the direction of a bookshelf.
"Here, you can find everything about the history of Japan in here." Her hand pointing towards the bookshelf on her right side. "As for the book of government system, I'll bring some of it for you, it's located on the other side of the library." She said, before started to go to the direction where the other books were, but stopped and faced Gohan again. "Oh and you can read the book over there." Her hand gesturing in a polite way, showing a room which had walls made out of glass. Could be seen through that glass wall, lots of people were reading books in that room. "I'll bring the other books to you there." She said before she left.
A few moments after that, Gohan took some of the books he wanted to read, and headed to the room the woman pointed earlier. He took a sit on one of the chairs and started to read.
And so a few of hours had passed, Gohan had already understood the history of Japan, and had already done reading a book about the history of this country, now he was reading the book about government and law system for heroes in this country. But, after a few pages, he stopped his reading, and decided to take a break for a few minutes. He stood up, walked out of the room, and went out of the library.
As he walked out from the library, a grumbled could be heard from his stomach. Feeling the hunger had grown bigger, he didn't worried about how to find some food to eat even though he didn't had any money. It was all because he already had food in one of the capsule he brought. He just needed a place where he can eat without drawing the attention from others. The way Saiyans ate their food always attracted too much unnecessary attention.
He looked around, trying to find a place where he could have a lunch peacefully and quietly. Until he saw the central park across the library, luckily the park wasn't too crowded, so he decided to go there for a little rest and lunch.
In the park, Gohan took a seat behind a big three, where no one could see. He opened the capsule box, and took the food capsule. Pressed the button, and threw it in front of him. The same effect that appeared when he stored his nyoibou-staff happened again, smokes came out of nowhere, and after a few seconds it disappeared, revealing foods already in plates and ready to be eaten.
"It's a good idea to bring food inside a capsule, thanks Videl." Gohan said internally before started to eat.
He can actually eat like normal humans, since he was a kid, his mom taught him to behave when he was eating with other people, unlike his dad who ate like an animal. But this time, his stomach wanted to get full real quick, so he wasted no time on swallowing the food in front of him.
After about 15 minutes of resting and eating, with his stomach was now full, and his energy was restored, he was ready to learn more about this world.
On his way to the library, when he was crossing the road, multiple gunshots can be heard from afar. He turned to looked at the source of the sound for a second, before quickly ran through the crowd on that crossing road.
"Too crowded, I can't get there in time, I have to fly." Gohan thought, he could just run trough the crowd if he wanted to, but considering his strength and speed, he wouldn't want the people to get hurt, or worse got thrown away because of him bumping into them. Besides, he remembered from the book he read earlier that people were not allowed to use their power in public, especially if they weren't a hero. So he decided to go to an alley, as he ran inside the alley, he took off his jacket, threw it to the side, and pressed the red button on his wrist watch, seconds later his Saiyaman costume already attached in his body.
After he turned into the Saiyan hero, Gohan launched into the air and darted into the direction of the gunshots. He thought it would be okay if he used his power as long as he wear a costume, so no one would see his face. He planned to finish this problem as fast as possible, so he could get away without anyone noticing him.
It took him a second to reach the location by flying, only to find out there was a bank robbery. He stood on top of a building across the bank, analyzing the situation in front of his eyes as he was trying to feel the energy in that place.
"Seven armed assailants, twenty hostages, three of them are children, looks like I have to move fast." He thought, he powered up, and suddenly his body engulfed in a white Ki aura, he rocketed down the building and went through the front door of the bank. His movement was so fast it made the glass shattered, and the world around him turned into slow motion, in a split second he was already inside the bank.
Once he was inside, Gohan quickly grabbed the face of one criminal and threw him to another two criminals closed to him. The impact of the hit threw them away back hitting the wall behind them so hard, a few cracks on the wall could be seen formed after that hit. Not wasting any time, Gohan quickly darted into another two criminals in front of him, he got behind them and tapped them lightly in their nape of neck, subduing them.
Five criminals were dealt with, the one remained was the man who was standing in front of him, still shocked and confused about what had happened. Everything happened so fast, his eyes couldn't see what was going on. The guy shook his head to get rid of the confusion, and started pointing the gun, shooting the hero in front of him.
Gohan, however, easily catch all the bullets shot at him until the man was out of ammo. He then threw one of the bullets with only the flick of his fingers to the man's forehead and easily knocked him down unconscious.
"Six were dealt, only one left, he's in that safe room." Gohan thought, turning his attention towards a room with a massive round door made out of steel slightly opened. He felt a pretty big power came out from the safe room.
When he was looking at it, a big muscular man with a shotgun in his left hand and a big bag of money on his right stepped out from it. The man took a look around only to find out his men were already knocked out, then he looked directly at Gohan in the middle of the room.
"Hmph, they can't even win against a bug." The man said while looking at the hero before putting down the bag of money. "I warn you hero, unlike them, I'm far stronger. So you better not get in my way, or I'm going to squash you like a bug."
The Saiyan hero however, instead of getting scared of the man in front of him, he was curious on why he kept calling him bug. Was it because of his costume? His antennae? The black and green suit he was wearing? He had no idea, Gohan himself always loved his costume and thought that it was cool, especially when he wears it. However, some people and criminals he had caught in Satan city sometimes mistook him in that costume as some kind of a cockroach inspired hero. Was this man in front of him also thought the same about his costume?
But he didn't had the time to think about it, quickly shrugged the thoughts out of his mind, Gohan dashed towards the last boss. His movement was so fast that he left an afterimage of himself still standing in his place earlier, when in reality, he was already inches in front of the man. In less than a second he got in front of the criminal, and without having the time to react or even realizing what had happened, a monstrous punch was planted on the man's abdomen, quickly sending the shock from the impact of the blow all over his body.
BAAAM!
Even though he already held back, it was still strong enough to make the man spitting out blood and saliva. And there, after that monstrous held back punch was thrown, no one moved a single muscle, not Gohan, not the criminal, nor the hostages. Silence reigned for a few seconds, until it broke out by the sound of the man falling on the ground, face first, and knocked out cold. With his eyes rolled up, his hands still holding his stomach for a moment before finally losing its strength, and fell limp.
"WOOOAH!" A loud shout from all of the hostages broke out after the fall of the last criminal.
Gohan reflexively turned to look at the hostages, a bit surprised by their sudden reaction. Even though he had already used to seeing these in his world every time he had done the hero duty, he still couldn't help feeling happy and relieved every time he saw the hostages were okay. He can see the grateful, and relieved look on their faces. Some of them were even crying as they realized they had passed a horrible situation, while the others were so happy.
"Thank you for saving us." Said a woman as she got beside him, carrying a little girl in her hug.
"Ahaha, it doesn't matter. That's my job as a hero." Gohan said as he gave a smile that could be seen under the Saiyaman helmet.
"Thank you Mr. Superhero, you saved me and my mom." Said the little girl in her mom's hug.
"You're welcome sweetie." He responded as his hand ruffled the girl's hair.
Now it was time for him to bring all of these criminals to the police, as he could hear the sound of sirens from the police cars approaching. He forgot that he should've gone after he had done his part, he forgot that in this world, if the police found him not registered in the hero list, he'd be considered as a vigilante, and that wouldn't be good for him.
But having forgotten all of that, Gohan grabbed two of the criminals, and led all of the hostages walked out their way from the bank. Until they suddenly stopped when a loud thud can be heard from the front door. When they all looked at the direction of that sound, a silhouette of a muscular man could be seen on the entrance.
"THERE'S NO NEED TO WORRY PEOPLE! BECAUSE I AM FINALLY HERE!" A loud masculine voice was heard from that silhouette formed by the shining light from the outside, and Gohan could feel a pretty big power from this guy. Slowly walking inside the bank, the Saiyan saw the wide smile on his face, and the costume consisted of a skin-tight blue bodysuit decorated with a red symbol resembles a "Y", and a white line connected to it that traced from his chest to his back shoulders.
"I've seen this guy before." Gohan thought as he then remembered, that guy was the one on those posters and ads he saw earlier.
With a wide grin on his face, the muscular figure observed the situation in front of him, and realized that every criminals were already dealt by the man with the helmet.
"Well, ugh... it looks like everything is already taken care of…" He said, with a face slowly turning red, embarrassed as he saw everything was fine, and realizing he came a bit late. Well he wasn't really came late to the scene, for a pro hero, it was still impressive to be able to get into the scene in less than a minute, especilally if he was from a far place. In this hero's case, he came in about fifty seconds after the alarm broke out, so he wasn't really late. What was actually happening was that, Gohan was much faster than him and came to the scene in a second, and dealt with all the criminals in less than thirty seconds.
Seeing the robbers being dragged by the hero in green and black suit. He then walked towards the Saiyan to offer some help, "Thank you, for saving these people, let me help you with these villains." With a smile, he then grabbed the other criminals, and walked out alongside Gohan, getting them to the police car.
"Good job with everything you did back there." The man said, with a thumbs up directed at Gohan. "But, I've never seen you before, what's your name? I should have known if there is another great hero in this city." He said with a curious expression. "I went to the location as fast as I can after I heard the gunshots, it hadn't been a minute, and everything were already dealt with." He thought, while seeing at the helmet hero, but it was also weird that he had never seen nor heard about Gohan before, which also made Gohan realized he had just made a mistake, he should've left after saving these people.
"Ughh yeah, well I'm uhhh…" Gohan tried to think the right answer without spilling the beans. However, before he could say anything, a man in an overcoat and matching hat, with a black suit underneath approached them.
"Yo All Might!" the man said as his hand waved at the muscular hero in front of Gohan. "Sorry the police came late to the location. It was a good job of you taking down all of the villains, as always."
"Well it doesn't matter anymore, I came here a bit late too, and you're wrong, this time it wasn't me, it was him." All might said, his head turned facing Gohan in his right. "I didn't do anything, it was his job."
"Really?" The man in overcoat said in surprised as he turned to look at Gohan. "Thank you, you've taken all of them down without any injured hostages." The man reached his right hand to Gohan, trying to give a handshake as he introduce himself. "Naomasa Tsukauchi, a detective of the police force. And you are?"
"I'm ugh…" At that question, a thick bead of sweat streamed down his temple behind that helmet, Gohan was nervous he didn't knew what to say. The thought of escaping this situation by flying away crossed his mind. But, it was no use, they had already seen his costume, not only them but the hostages too, they could ask the hostages more detail information on his power, and if the police know he wasn't a registered hero, then he'll be considered as the vigilante.
Tsukauchi placed his hand in his chin, looking at Gohan curiously. Even though the sweat on his temple was covered by that helmet, but the nervousness on his face and how he act were noticeable for both Tsukauchi and Alll Might. "Strange I've never seen you before." He then opened a tablet, in which were the lists of the registered hero in the city. "I can't find you on our national hero lists." Tsukauchi said as his hand scrolling up and down the tablet, trying to find the picture of this hero in front of him, before he finally came to an assumption. "Wait... are you… a Vigilante?" He said as he turned from his tablet to face Gohan, with a serious expression very different from the friendly detective earlier.
As a detective working with the law, Tsukauchi was strict and didn't approved any kind of vigilantism, which, despite having heroic intentions, was still illegal and therefore made them Villains. The revelation from him, shocked All might too, and some of the police officers who heard about their conversation.
"Oh... crap basket." His face sweat dropped, he remembered from the book he read earlier. Job of a Superhero, can only be attained after they got the pro hero license, which means, being a vigilante's restricted by the law and illegal.
"With all due respect, you have to come with me to give us more detailed information." This surprised Gohan of course, he didn't expecting this to happen on his first day on this world. What was he going to say to the police officer? Once again, the thought to just flew away from the scene crossed his mind. But he realized it'll only worsen the situation for him, he might be considered as a wanted criminal if he ran from this situation, so he decided to agree and go with the police, he'll try to find a way to explain his situation later.
In the police station
Gohan found himself sitting on a chair inside an interrogation room with a CCTV attached on one side of the wall. Across him, was a mirror reflecting his figure planted on the wall, but Gohan knew it well, it wasn't just a regular mirror. It was a one-way-mirror, he can feel the people's energy behind it, they were all looking at him from the other side through the mirror. In front of him was a table made out of steel, the surface was so clear it even reflected his face which still covered by that helmet.
His hands were cuffed, not like he couldn't free himself from it, he could easily destroy it if he wanted to, he just didn't wanted to cause any more trouble. But seriously, what was wrong with these police, in both movies and real life, they always used cuffs for a superhero... why? That one scene from a movie called 'Man of Steel' came to his mind, when a super hero was cuffed with a regular handcuff, he always thought that was stupid.
A few moments of silence had passed in that room until Tsukauchi came in. He brought a laptop and some documents in his left hand and walked to the center of the room. He stopped when he reached the chair on the opposite side of the Saiyan. Standing in front of him, the officer gave a serious glance at Gohan for a moment before he pulled out the chair and took a seat.
"Alright..." he started opening the files in his left hand, but stopped when he looked at Gohan and realized, the guy hadn't even took off his helmet. "...uh can you take off your helmet first?"
"Oh right..." Gohan thought as he realized it. On the man's order, he took off his helmet revealing his rather handsome feature behind that helmet. Some of the female officers outside the room who were watching through the mirror were even blushing at the sight. Gohan put his helmet on the table, and turned to look at the officer in front of him.
"I'll be honest, we can't find anything about you. We asked some of the hostages and some heroes if they happened to have seen you before, but no one knows about you. We assume, today was the first time you appeared in the city, cause we've never heard any report of vigilante like you." The detective stated as he sighed a little. "Do you know why vigilantism is illegal?" In response of that question, Gohan could only stay silent.
"The heroes worked hard to get their license, there are rules they need to learn first and obey when they became a hero. There are trainings they need to follow to be a good hero. They trained their physiques to be stronger, their mental to improve focus, and most importantly their teamwork to gain trusts with each other." Tsukauchi said with a serious expression, and then he slightly leaning to the front, looking at Gohan. "On the other hand, you, vigilante, cannot be trusted."
In that statement, Gohan was left in shocked, he knew vigilantism wasn't allowed here, but still he did that to save the people.
"You people came out of nowhere, claiming yourself to be hero to save the day-" Tsukauchi couldn't finish as Gohan cut him.
"I didn't mean to, I-" He tried defending himself but was cut by Tsukauchi.
"That's what you vigilantes always said, there's a criminal activity happening and no heroes around so you decided to get in, is that what you're going to say? If you really didn't mean to, then just wait for the heroes and the police to come, in your case All Might came in less than a minute after the alarm broke out." Tsukauchi said with a little higher and more serious tone of voice.
"But what if something bad happened and there's still no hero around?" Gohan reasoned, once again trying to defend himself.
"What if something bad happened when you were there?" And again, the question from the police left him speechless. "What if the hostages was hurt, or worse, die when you were there? What're you going to do? Nothing, you'll just leave the location and gone. Then who will be responsible for that?"
Still couldn't answer the question, he stayed silent, facing down to his lap.
"You're not the first vigilante I've dealt with. I've met worse than you, one who killed the criminals in the name of justice. Some didn't even care about the people in danger, they just wanted to show their powers. You're just lucky nothing bad happened to the hostages, if something happened to them, you'll just flee, leaving your responsibilities like the others." Tsukauchi said with his clenched fists on the table, visible even to the viewers outside the room.
Gohan never thought of it that way, he wasn't an irresponsible person who will flee when knowing there was someone in need of help. On the opposite, he would fight for the them even if it meant to give his live for it. Just like what he did in the battle against Cell, an eleven years old, stood up against an evil being capable of destroying the whole universe, not even the adults were brave enough to stand against that monster.
"Now, answer the questions, who are you? and where you came from?" Tsukauchi asked with a serious tone. "Don't bother to lie, my quirk allows me to detect lies." [1] He said before Gohan could answer his questions.
For a few seconds Gohan thought, should he answer that, or better to keep silent about his identity. If he told them about who he was and where he came from, he'd just going to look like an idiot for telling such an unbelievable story. But if he didn't tell the truth, he might ended up being held there in that office for a few days or even be jailed for a long time.
"My name is Son Gohan." He decided to answer the first question after a few moments of silence.
"Where are you from?" The next question came from Tsukauchi as he typed down the name on his laptop.
The question however was a bit hard to answer, if he lied to Tsukauchi, he'll find out due to his quirk being able to detect lies. But if Gohan told the truth, they wouldn't find any place named Mount Paozu or Satan City in this world. His face sweat dropped, he can't think of anything.
"I told you not to lie…" Tsukauchi said, narrowing his eyes to Gohan after he saw the Saiyan was a bit nervous. He moved to the next question since Gohan kept on silence, and left the question for later. "What's your quirk?" He asked as he looked at the document he brought earlier, it was filled with the lists of questions. He turned to face Gohan again with a sharp gaze. "Answer the questions."
"M-my power allows me to manipulate the energy inside my body, in that way I can increase my physical strength, agility, and speed." He explained, answering one of the questions. However, it wasn't any lies, for him that was the best way to explain his power.
"Where are you from?" Tsukauchi asked again, this time more serious.
"I-I can't tell you that." He actually wanted to tell him, but only him. He thought this Tsukauchi guy could be trusted, he can detect lies, so if Gohan told the truth and he didn't detected any lies, there would be a chance Tsukauchi might trust him.
"Not here, not with these people listening to us." He continued as he turned to face the mirror where he can feel the other's presences behind that glass. This of course made Tsukauchi to also turned towards the mirror before finally brought back to Gohan. "I promise, I'll tell you everything you want to know, but not here."
In response, Tsukauchi marked a little smirk on his face and started talking. "Remember what I said earlier about trust? You can't be trusted, who knows what you'll do if we let you go?" He said.
But that was it for Gohan, he tried to cooperate, but if the easy way didn't work, then he'll try the hard way. He stood up, and broke the handcuff so easily to the surprised of everyone watching.
Tsukauchi quickly took his gun and pointed it towards Gohan, but no, he thought he pointed the gun at him when the truth... Gohan was nowhere to be found.
Thick bead of sweat ran down the detective's temple when he felt something touched the back of his head. And there he was, Gohan standing up behind him with his middle and index finger pointed like a gun behind the detective's head.
"If I wanted to kill you and escape from here, I would do it from the beginning." Gohan said with that serious tone like those time when he met dangerous oopponents. "You there stop!" He shouted when he felt the energy of the people behind the mirror started moving towards the room with guns on their hands. "Or else..." He then pushed the back of Tsukauchi's head with his fingers, forcing the officer to move his head slightly to the front.
The officers outside the interrogation room looked at each other nervously until one of them gave the sign to the others to stop and lower their weapons.
After he felt the energy from them stopped moving, Gohan started to focus on Tsukauchi again. "I will tell you everything you want to know, but not here..." He said. "...and I'm not going to do anything."
"Then what do you call this?" Tsukauchi answered, which drew a confusion in Gohan's face. "You've already threatened me and the others with your power, who knows what you will do next." The response from Tsukauchi was actually a bit surprising, he didn't looked like threatened at all, and instead was keeping his calm composure. But knowing he was a cop, of course he'd already went through a mental training to keep him focus and not easily distracted, even in this situation.
"Use your quirk, I said I'm not going to do anything, and you know I'm not lying." Gohan said, this time instead of pushing his hand like earlier against the detective's head, he lowered it to the side.
And there Tsukauchi used that opportunity to quickly turn back and face the Saiyan, with the gun pointed at his face. Everyone kept quite, no one moved a single muscles, even the other officers just standing still in their positions. In response, Gohan didn't do anything, he was just standing still like earlier, but now he had that fierce expression on his face, showing that he was serious about what he said earlier. Besides, he already showed them that he can move fast and no one in that place could follow his movement, they knew it would be useless to fight him.
Silence came into that room for a few moments, until Tsukauchi slowly put his gun down, and put it in his holster. "Alright, we'll go somewhere else. But you have to tell me everything." He said, he used his quirk to detect lies but sensed nothing from the Saiyan. So with that, he walked out of the room with Gohan followed behind him after he took his helmet.
Everyone in that place just staring at both of them nervously as they walked out, still couldn't shake the thought of the intense situation earlier from their minds. Not even the higher officer dare to ask Tsukauchi about his decision, he thought it was best to leave the interrogation to him.
Tsukauchi led the way to a door which then reveal a stairs that went down the building. They then walked to the basement, got inside a car, and drove away from the station.
After a few minutes of silent ride, the car stopped by the river, and the engine was turned off, giving the intense atmosphere a way to get back around them.
"Start talking." Tsukauchi said as Gohan turned his gaze at him.
"I don't know, I-" Gohan tried to talk but then was cut by Tsukauchi.
"You promised."
With a sigh, Gohan then took a deep breath and started to tell his story, "You're not going to believe this." He said before starting to explain everything. About his world, where he came from, and what was his intention by coming to this world.
He can see the confused look on Tsukauchi's face, but every time the detective had a doubt about the story, he always asked Gohan to prove it, including the time when he asked for the demonstration of his power, and Gohan just destroyed a big boulder with a simple Ki blast from his finger.
With that demonstration, Gohan tried to show him that beings with power capable of destroying the planets existed. But that wasn't enough for Tsukauchi, the people in this world also possessed unique abilities, so destroying a boulder wasn't that surprising for him. But despite that, he didn't detected any lies from Gohan's story, hence he felt uncertain about all of it.
And next, Gohan thought he needed to show him that his world was different from this one, but he had no idea how to prove it, until he remembered one of the capsule in which he put his food earlier. He forgot to put that capsule back in the capsule box, and just put it in his pants' pocket. So with the same capsule, he pressed the button, and tossed it away from them, again, smokes appeared out of nowhere, and after it dissipated, revealing the empty plates where he placed his food earlier.
Tsukauchi startled at that sight, he was even standing ready in defense with his gun. Thinking it would be a surprise attack or something.
Seeing that, Gohan asked him to lower his gun and told him that there was no need to be alerted. But that technology however didn't existed in this world and he had never seen them before.
"That is the capsule technology. It can be used to store almost anything, in my world everyone know those, in fact almost everyone have those." He explained about the capsule after seeing the surprised face in Tsukauchi, who was now walking towards the empty plates with wide eyes still couldn't believe what he had seen. "Judging from your reaction, I'm sure you've never seen one before."
In response of that statement Gohan threw at him, Tsukauchi slightly flinched after hearing that, and fixed his posture to stand up straight and changed into his earlier serious expression, acted like the capsule didn't surprised him. "It can be just a new technology that hasn't been released yet." He said.
"Oh come on! You still can't trust me?" Gohan said looking at Tsukauchi with a frustrated face.
"I want to not trust you..." He said and turned to look at the already destroyed boulder thanks to Gohan's demonstration, then turned to face Gohan. "But I did not detect any lies from you. Which means everything you said is the truth, about your world... and this world." concerned face came to Tsukauchi as he remembered what Gohan said about the future of this world.
Hearing that, Gohan faced down his head as his sorry expression was visible. "I'm sorry..." He said. "I'll prevent that from happening. I promise."
"Haaah... Damn it!" The police slammed his fist to the hood of his car. He was still uncertain to trust Gohan or not, he didn't want to trust vigilante like him, but he didn't detected any lies either. So if what Gohan said was true, his world was in danger and he needed to act fast and inform the others. But if Gohan was wrong, that'd be a fatal mistake on his part for trusting vigilante.
He took a breath for a seconds before turned his gaze at Gohan again. "Alright then... It's weird to trust someone you just met. But, I could say, I trust you...a little. But I doubt the others would." Tsukauchi said. "It's time to go back, I'll explain to the chief later, I'll discuss with him, and see what his opinion on this." Tsukauchi said as he walked up to his car followed by Gohan after he put those plates back inside the capsule.
Back to the Police Station
"And do you believe that?" A man asked Tsukauchi from behind a desk. He had the appearance of a tall and sturdily built man, but with a head of a beagle. In his desk was his name plate and position, it wrote Tsuragamae Kenji with his position as the chief of the police force.
"I don't know sir, but I didn't detect any lies from him, and you know my quirk never failed me, it helped us a lot in the past cases." Tsukauchi said to the chief with that serious expression like before. "Also, every time I asked him for a proof or demonstrations of his powers, he can proved it. And he can hurt me or even kill me and flee, but he didn't."
Silence came to the room, the chief saw this problem as a hard thing to solve, he didn't really knew what to do, he couldn't trusted Gohan that easily and let him go, but on the other hand, he trusted Tsukauchi, and his quirk had proven to be a formidable quirk in interrogation.
"Alright, I'll let you handle him, always keep track on him, also report to me about anything he does. Get more information about the threat he mentioned." The chief said.
"Yes sir." Tsukauchi responded before he walked out of the office.
Meanwhile Gohan found himself sitting in the same interrogation room as before, waiting for Tsukauchi and the result of his discussion with the police chief, and suddenly the door was opened, Gohan stood up as Tsukauchi approached him.
"He trusted me and the story... well not quite. But the point is, you are free." Tsukauchi said.
"Really?" Gohan said with sigh of relieve. "Thank you..."
"No worries." However, Tsukauchi didn't told him anything about the part where he will be in charge of supervising him.
They started to walk out of the room and got out of the police station. At the front door, Tsukauchi gave Gohan something before he left. "This is my number, take this, call me if you have any information related to the threat you talked about." Tsukauchi said as he handed Gohan a piece of paper with a number in it.
"So where do you live in this world?" That question, suddenly reminded Gohan that he had no place to stay, but he had his capsules, and remembered that one of his capsules containing a house.
"Oh don't worry I got my-" Gohan said as he tried to get his box of capsules in his pocket, but there was nothing. He then realized that he threw away his jacket when he changed into the Saiyaman suit, and all of his capsules except the empty food capsule were there in his jacket, including the capsule of house.
"What's wrong?" Tsukauchi asked as he saw Gohan looked panicked for a while then frozen in his place.
"I-I threw my jacket away, and a-all of my c-capsules were there." Gohan said.
"The capsules? Wait the capsules you told me earlier!? Which can load everything inside of it!?" He responded, surprised by Gohan's statement. "How could you lose it. Oh crap…"
"Sorry, I'll start looking for it now." Gohan said as he was about to leave, but was held by Tsukauchi.
"Wait, here take this map." Tsukauchi gave him the same map he had earlier. "I suggest you to come to this address, he is my friend. He own a pub, and I think he has some empty room in his place. I'll tell him that you are going there." Tsukauchi already circled the address he mentioned with a red color on the map. He thought it would be best to let Gohan live in his friend's place for now, that way he could also asked his friend about Gohan's activity every day.
"Thanks, I owe you a lot…" Gohan said.
"Yeah you are. Anyway, after that display of power earlier, I planned on making you to be a licensed pro hero, I'll inform my friend who worked on the Hero Registration Agency, to prepare you some test to get your professional hero license. Normally you have to go to a high school and learn in the hero course if you want to be a hero. But considering your situation and age, this way is more reasonable. Even though, the test might probably be a lot harder. So how is that sound? I mean being a registered hero is better than you prowling around as vigilante..."
"I'm okay with that, in that way I could use my power to save people in danger as a registered hero." Gohan said.
"Good. Oh also there's someone I want you to meet, he is the principal of UA high, one of the prestigious hero school, so get yourself some nice looking suit." Tsukauchi said. "I'll call you when the time's come."
"Alright, I think it's time for me to leave. I'm going to looked for my jacket. If I couldn't find it, I'll come to the address you gave me." With a smile on his face Gohan walked out from the office, and flew away. "Thanks Tsukauchi!" Gohan said as he flew away and waved at him.
"He already forgot that he shouldn't use his quirk in public yet." The police spoke internally then sighed, a thick bead of sweat streamed down his temple as he saw Gohan flew away so casually even though he had been told not to use his power until he get the hero license.
[1] I actually don't know what Tsukauchi's quirk is, I looked at the MHA fandom sites, it just says that his quirk is good for investigating as police officer.
That's all for this chapter, sorry for my bad English. Also I think this chapter is probably one of the worst that I've written, it's hard to write how Tsukauchi slowly turned to believe Gohan in one chapter, I might be able to make it better if I took two or more chapters to build their trust, but I want Gohan to quickly join the UA. So, sorry for the rush in this chapter.
Once again, thank you, hope you guys enjoyed it, and have a good day.
