Hello again! Here the next chapter! Have fun reading ;o) BTW i am sorry i am late again ...

Daryl and I were looking outside. I felt like in a beautiful nightmare. This peaceful scenery was just a picture of a place that didn't know how to survive without walls. I saw an old woman moving slowly down the street. She would be walker feed the moment these walls were down. They just survived because of this governor guy. There was someone who was protecting old people, helping others, how could this governor kidnap my family?

"We got to move!" Daryl said, watching the peaceful dream with a weird look as well.

"Where are Glenn and Maggie?" I asked turning from the window to face Michonne.

"Maybe in his apartment." I was irritated. She didn't seem to be so sure about that.

"What if they ain't?" Daryl was tensed. Every minute we were in here, we were in danger.

"Then we look somewhere else!" She stood proudly, but when Rick came closer to her, her eyes went bigger as if she was afraid of him.

"You said you can help us!" Rick's hand never left his holster.

"I am doing what I can!" She defended herself. And she was right, she brought us already in. We were close to where we wanted to go, close to Glenn and Maggie.

"She is right." I told them but they looked at me with irritated eyes. Daryl, Oscar and Rick went to the back of the room but I stood put at the window, almost next to Michonne. "You'll show me every single place you think they could be!" She just scowled. "You hear me? I want you to take me to my friends!" I wanted it to sound like a threat or an order, but my voice sounded more like a pleading. Even I looked strong outside, inside I was afraid. We were just five people facing an army of unknown strength.

"I'll do what I can." Was her answer while she eyed the others in the back. It looked like women against men in here. I felt left behind, why were they staying together discussing something and I was on the other side? Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Michonne immediately pushed me to the back of the room while the others hid too. Since we left the car everyone was pushing me around, first Daryl now her.

A man came in. "I know you are in here, saw the curtains moving!" Michonne had pushed me behind a table, from where I saw his feet on the floor. "You're not supposed to be in here!" He came closer. When he passed my hideout, Rick grabbed the man and pointed a gun against his head. He asked him about Glenn and Maggie while I went to the front again to see if someone was following him.

Suddenly we heard shooting. Through the window I saw people moving down the street. Rick came closer. "What happened?"

"Didn't see someone shooting." He opened the door and we walked out.

"Where did it come from?" He wasn't looking at me while we walked alongside the houses.

"I don't really know … I think over there." I pointed to the far back of the street and we began to move quickly. We approached something that looked like an old storehouse. Rick was the first to enter and we followed in a single file. The walls inside were made out of corrugated metal and planks. Suddenly Rick stopped. I heard the footsteps too and then someone was almost crossing our way. He didn't see us at all and walked in the room next to us. I exhaled silently in relieve. I adjured Maggie and Glenn would be here. The shooting I had heard before made me feel ill, as if something might had happened to them. I pressed my ear against the wall, where someone was talking and another one whimpered. I definitely heard Maggie crying I love you. "It's Maggie!" I said hopefully and Rick nodded.

"On your feet, now go!" A male voice said. Through a small hole I saw a few men and two persons with a bag over their head. Oh no … were they going to be executed? Rick grabbed the bag and handed out small bombs. When we heard them walking out of the room next to us, everyone threw a bomb and a bright flash was followed by smoke. Daryl pushed me behind him while he provided covering fire for Rick and Oscar who were grabbing Maggie and Glenn.

Shooting aroused, but we ran out, shooting back. We ran through the streets again as fast as possible. I watched Rick carrying Glenn who looked fucked up. He had no shirt on and his upper body was bloody and blue. Instead Maggie wore his shirt. What had happened to them?

Daryl was on top of our group, opening a door. "Here!" I looked in the other direction, where the house was, through which we had come here. We were on the wrong side of the street. Everybody entered and when I turned to close the door, Michonne closed the door from the outside. "What?!" I wanted to open the door again to take her in, but Oscar held me back. "Not again!" I knew he was referring to when we had arrived, when Michonne and me had left the group. I wanted to protest, but heard the others talking behind me. "He's hurt!" These words made me turn and I looked back to Maggie who examined Glenn. "Where is that woman?" She said without looking up.

"She left!" I answered looking down on Glenn. I took a hoody from a chair and handed it to Maggie. She helped Glenn to put it on. He really was in a bad shape, almost couldn't move by himself.

"That was Merle!" Glenn watched Daryl. Seeing Glenn hurt like that, I couldn't believe Merle would do that to a former friend. My second thought was: Merle was alive and here! My eyes were immediately on Daryl. How would he react?

"Ya saw him?" Daryl came closer. Sure he was surprised to hear his brother was alive and living in Woodbury.

"He is, saw him face to face!" Glenn answered. The blood on his face told me it wasn't a happy reunion at all. "When you walked in he was about to execute us." Glenn went on, while Maggie didn't talk at all. I watched her helping Glenn to stand up, looking as hurt as he did.

"He's with the governor?" I knew Daryl wanted to know where his brother was, wanted to see him. But we needed to get out of here, there was no time to go and look for a rotten apple. I went to Daryl's side, but he looked to the ground still processing what Glenn had said. His brother was alive and close. I wanted to comfort him, but I didn't know how.

"We told them were the prison is …" I turned to Maggie who finally spoke up. "I'm so sorry."

"Can you walk?" Rick ignored her words. "Outside we have a car …" We all came closer to the door.

"Wait …" Daryl seemed not wanting to go. "I have to see him!" I knew it … I was afraid we would split up now, but I knew if he would leave I would follow Daryl, not the others. The others could take the car and go, I would stay by his side no matter what. But when I looked at Maggie and Glenn my heart hurt, they looked so broken.

"Not now." Rick ordered. "We have to get out of enemy's area."

"He's ma brother!" Daryl argued, he wouldn't give up. Now he knew Merle was alive and well up, he would go and look for him. But if someone could talk sense in this pigheaded redneck, it was Rick. Even Daryl was talking back, Rick got him by the words "I need you!" So he finally gave in. "Are you with me?"

I looked at Daryl, ready to take his side. "Yeah!" He answered - after seconds that felt like hours - and I caught him looking at me. He gave Glenn and Maggie guns and also took another pair of smoke bombs out of the bag. I wondered how many we had left. We gathered at the door and he nodded at us. Rick had his hand on the doorknob. "Stay tight!" And he opened the door so Daryl could throw the bombs out. We walked out of the house and turned left. Walking in the smoke, it was hard to see if someone was approaching us. I stood close to Daryl, aiming the same direction he did. Rick was leading us to a barricade out of busses, where men were on top keeping watch. Before I could think how to overtake them, Rick and the others shot them down. This was our way out. I turned to cover our back while Rick and Maggie were running for the barricade. Suddenly there were several men behind us shooting our direction. There were at least five men.

Daryl pulled me closer to him, still shooting at the enemy. It were too many shots out of different directions. We all ran left, away from the barricade and gathered in a corner of a house. Oh my, I couldn't believe my eyes. Glenn sweated like hell, was there fresh blood on his face? Maggie shot around the corner, but they still fired our direction, as if they exactly knew where we were.

"Ya all go, I'll cover ya!" Daryl told us, while he took another smoke bomb. I couldn't believe my ears. "No!" I protested. Even Maggie didn't want him to stay behind. "We'll go all together."

Daryl didn't dare to look at me. "I'll be right behind!" He reassured us.

"You told me stay close, so I'll stay close." I told him firmly. The shooting was loud, but I knew he heard me. Daryl stood up and threw the bomb and everybody moved, except me. I stood close to Daryl, helping him covering the others. We moved slowly behind them who ran to the bus-barricade again. I saw Oscar helping the others to get up the bus. Good, Glenn was already up, one jump and he would be outside of Woodbury. Darry pulled me next to him behind a dumpster, out of the line of fire.

Maggie screamed for Rick and I didn't want to believe what I saw … Oscar was lying on the ground. I grew more angry and focused on the enemy's. I looked around the corner of the dumpster and saw them hiding too, but aimed at their heads and shot. I wasn't shooting wildly around, I was shooting to kill. I looked to Maggie again who shot Oscar in the head, not letting him turn. Even I didn't really know Oscar, the loss hurt. He seemed to be a good man, after all, he had helped us.

"Go Ella!" Darryl told me, but I didn't move. Glenn, Maggie and Rick where on the bus, screaming for us to follow.

"I won't leave you." He looked at me as if I had told him 'I love you'. There was hurt and bewilderment mirroring his eyes.

"Ella!" Rick screamed, holding out his hand, but shots were fired. I couldn't get to him and I didn't intend to move. I saw Glenn and Maggie jumping into freedom behind the fences, they were safe. Rick was shooting, to cover me.

"Now you go!" Daryl ordered me after he saw everyone got over the wall. I heard Rick calling our names again. But I ignored Rick's shouting and Daryl's order.

"No!" I said to him, shooting at the men approaching us. "I won't leave you alone." I shot again and an enemy went down.

"Ella. You go now." He pushed me to the bus, into Rick's direction, but in the moment I was out of our little hide-out, someone grabbed me. "Ah!" I screamed when a man behind me pushed the gun out of my hand and kicked me in the back. I went down on my knees. Daryl looked at me with wide eyes. Before I could tell him to watch his back, a man was behind him too and pushed a bag over his head. He hit Daryl and kicked him hard. Daryl went to the ground, fighting without orientation. "Daryl!" I screamed. The man behind me grabbed me hard. I still wasn't used to – and especially didn't like – the touch of a foreign man and fought back at my best, but a fist came directly at me, knocking me out.

Things are going to get interesting between Daryl and Ella ... Now they are are alone together ;o)
(Hopefully) see you next week!
