"That boy with blood of a mad witch and Shinigami in his veins seeks the ultimate order…
"That boy seeking the ultimate power strives to become a god of war…
"Which one will triumph?
"Water? Whatever…hey Kid I came all the way into this book to save you even though I don't read. C'mon let's get out of here your ma's real worried too you know!" Blackstar furrows his brow by the water level suddenly sprouting out from the ground below.
"…" Silently, Kid glares at Blackstar as the room is soon engulfed in water.
"Doesn't seem like you're gonna come quietly huh…" Disappointed, Blackstar sighs as the water level soon rises.
"You're too big…" Bluntly, Kid states scowling.
"We govern people's lives and death's Kid we're the absolute exitances which maintain order or that's what they say but…" Lord Death stands over the younger form of Kid sat in the lap of his mother, who sits down on the edge of the platform.
"Understood father the point is balance." Excitedly, Kid beams brightly, his gold glistening gleaming at the thought bringing a small smile to his mother's lips when seeing the glint gleaming in his hues.
"That's not it Kid." Death sighs furrowing his brow at the boy below him.
"I don't know about that…" The younger Ava plays devil's advocate.
"That Kid is Lady Ava and the Shinigami's son."
"He looks really talented."
"He's someone we couldn't possibly compete with."
"Sweetie how was school?" Softly, Ava warmly welcomes her son back home faltering furrowing her brow by the sight of the solemn sad boy bowing his head, his bag flat on the floor below.
"No one spoke to me." Miserably, Kid bows his head his temple touching his mother's leg.
"Oh…sweetie." Softly, she kneels down, bringing him into her arms hearing his soft sniffle.
"They said it was best to keep away from me due to being father's son. I understand father can be daunting but…" Pained, Kid bows his head sadly.
"Don't worry kid you'll find someone who'll want to beat you title or not." Ava assures him.
"…You think so?" Hopeful, he asks.
"I know so." Confidently, she smiles softly down at her little boy.
"Mama…" Meekly, Kid bows his head nuzzling into her shoulder.
"Hm?" Ava hums holding her little boy.
"Dad said balance wasn't important but isn't it?" Confused, Kid furrows his brow befuddled making Ava furrow her brow.
"Balance is important. Your father he just well…you know how he is he can be rather set in his ways sometimes. For example while your father may fear madness I don't." Ava sits down on the chair below her, her son in her lap as she explains herself to her son.
"But isn't madness bad?" Befuddled, Kid quirks his head to the side.
"Maybe but it's in all of us, some more than others and those people need help in maintain that balance, they need help the most." Softly, she pokes his temple making him blink baffled.
"Which is why we're help to help them right?" Earnestly, Kid beams brightly at the thought.
"Yes but Kid sometimes we can't save people, we can't save everyone understand?" Ava reminds her son.
"I…I think so." Shyly, Kid bows his head squirming slightly.
"Hey kid you may be the son of a god or whatever but the great Blackstar will beat you I'll be the one standing at the top got it!?" Loudly, the young Blackstar calls out to him.
"Hmph. Fool." The younger Kid tuts turning his back to Blackstar.
"Outdo the gods huh? What an interesting guy…Shyly, a small smile crosses Kid's lips at the thought.
"Huh you just laughed! Looking don't on me!? Well, relax while you can!" Blackstar picks up his small chuckle.
"As if I'd look down on you I'll take you on anytime!" Kid accepts said challenge.
"Your existence is too large to exist as I embark on my creation of nothingness. I will erase you." Resolute, Kid states the fact firmly ready to be rid of the ninja before him.
"This is…" Ava's eyes expand when seeing a younger version of herself standing before a cliff of some sort, staring solemnly down at it, feeling the brisk breeze brush against her hair feeling the giddy gust of air teasingly tousle her hair. Ava's eyes soften sadly at her younger form, seeing her coal cloak coat tighten around her, fuzzy busts of hair on her collar and hood. However, that is not what catches Ava's attention it's the baby boy say down on the grassy greenery below brow furrowing focusing on the bundle of fluffy flowers in his hands, tying them together, tongue poked out and all as he tries to complete the task at hand.
"So you remember this then." Index remarks as Ava slowly shyly makes her way over to the boy's side, her glassy gold softening sadly at the innocent boy happily minding his own business in his own little world, happily humming, having no clue what was to come. Shakily, she reaches out to the boy wanting nothing more than to hold him, hug him, bring him close to her arms and just cry, cry her heart out to the baby boy she failed. But before she could, her hues widen when watching the boy suddenly be scooped up, feeling a pair of arms wrap around his frail form, seeing said boy be picked up, feeling her heart ache, break before her very eyes
Ava's heart aches when watching, looking longingly at her little boy being held in her past version. She sees her younger self hold her baby boy close to her chest as both mother and son stare out at the horizon before them, Asura's ruby reds glistening gleaming in awe at the scenery casted before his very eyes.
"What are you trying to get at Index?" Incensed, Ava angrily demands from them watching her heart aching breaking before her very eyes when seeing the little boy in her mother's arms tug trying to get her attention which he succeeds. Shyly, he smiles as he drapes a flower crown over hers bringing a small smile to her own lips. While the present Ava's eyes soften sadly spotting the familiar flora of anemone only making her wince when seeing said flowers, blinking back the tears threatening to descend down once more. Her younger self smiles strained down at her baby boy, trying to keep on a brave face for him, for her, trying to bite her lip as she holds him.
"I think you know…" Index remarks making Ava slams her eyes shut grimacing, blinking back the tears threatening to freely flow from the murky memory.
"…He was my pride and joy he…he still is." Intensely, Ava states the fact firmly, furrowing her brow placing her hand firmly over her mouth muffling the tears threatening to freely flow from her, trying to stop the crack in her voice when watching from down below. The deathly figure of pitch-black walks along the seashores with Arachne glued to his side smirking smugly looking up at her, purple webbed irises glow glisten glaring into a pair of callous cold yellow. No words needing to be shared between both woman as Ava simply slams her eyes shut simply shaking her head at the witch before her eyes.
"He's going to replace you, you know?"
"He's going to forget about you know?"
"You've already given him what he wants he's going to kill you, you know?"
"And why were these wars formed? Why did these wars start? All roots from wrath which soon turned to pride for both gods, whose envy soon turned to pity, turning to look down at those below seeing them as nothing more than pawns." Index remarks as Ava scowls seething, glaring, glowering down at the two below seeing the boy in her younger form's arms simply stare down at the two below, glowering, glaring. His grip tightens around his mother's coat, his fingertips flex fidgeting digging deep into the bundled fabric of the coal cloak.
"…Stop." Sharply, Ava snaps seething, disgust drenched in her poisonous tone, shaking, quivering, quaking trying to stop the tears from freely falling as she stares at her little boy, the scene swiftly shifting changing contorting revealing a familiar baby boy in her younger form's lap as she reads a book to him.
"But that was what he was wasn't he?" Index argues as Ava simply shakes her head watching on as she turns the page showing a bundle of fabric being picked up and thrown into the mouth of the giant.
"I…" Anxiously, Ava furrows her brow crossing her arms over her chest, closing her eyes scared, shaken even.
"Mama…will daddy eat me too?" Terrified, the boy below Ava whispers, his voice cracking breaking briefly blinking back the tears threatening to fall. He curls into his mother's lap, into her embrace, curling into her tender touch as she holds him.
"Why else would you tell him such scary stories?" Index queries making Ava bow her head pained, ashamed even as she grits her teeth together, grinding her teeth together, trying to deal with it all, trying to handle it, trying to blink back the tears threatening to freely fall once more. She stares at the boy in her past selves' arms, seeing those jaded gold, those murky mustard simply staring into a pair of anxious ruby reds.
"They weren't scary! My mother read these to me when I was a girl!" Defensively, Ava argues angrily annoyed even as she raises her voice towards Index incensed, fury flowing through her veins, something seemingly snapping within her, something breaking, cracking. She screams, shouting, snarling at Index, flimsy feathers protruding out of her arm as she seethes, scowling, baring her feral fangs at the index.
"Is that what you told yourself?" Index asks as Ava falters from her shout, pain plastered all over her furrowed features.
"Maybe it was…maybe it was like that at first but then…" Shakily, Ava begins brow furrowed, voice cracking as she turns towards her baby brother, seeing those jaded murky mustard hues softening slightly at the baby boy in her arms as she sang to him, as she spoke to him, as she sung him to sleep…
"Oh is that all? That's a relief even though your brain's turned to mush you're facing me head on. When I said I'd outdo the gods just about everyone laughed me off and ignored me but the one who took me the most seriously was you, just the god in question. I thought I'd really just overcome a god." Blackstar confesses to Kid as the two stand across from one another, ready for whatever was thrown his way against the death god.
"Now it just hurts my ears." Kid curses under his breath bitterly blanking Blackstar but…
"Ah…is that so? i'll outdo the gods! The great Blackstar is the strongest!" Blackstar bellows, proudly proclaiming it.
"You disgust me!" Mad, Kid snaps sharply slamming his leg against Blackstar blocking said strike with his arm.
"Whoa! I can breathe and I can stand…but when I move it feels like water…I hate to do it but how do you like this? Soul menace! Whoa awesome! It's like I shot a beam out of my hand. Wait a sec it's not like I even came here to fight with you Kid. I came to take you back…wait what are you…!?" Amazed, Blackstar blinks baffled when seeing bubbles burst from his mouth as he floats from the water trying to swim but finds himself floating. He fires a soul blast forming a beam at Kid but Kid ignores said blast only then to flinch from the sudden gooey creature towering over him.
"You bastard! Don't interfere!" Kid snaps sharply struggling from the sudden wave of paralysis pulsating through him.
"I am he who meters out power equally what is the power you desire?" The creature questions Blackstar.
"What?" Blackstar stares up at the creature.
"My…my body won't move." Kid grimaces trying to break free from the hold on him but falters from his failed attempt.
"The power I desire…" Blackstar bows his head at the thought before Blackstar knew it his bright blue irises soon shifted starshaped as he grin giddily maniacally at the straight-faced scowling Kid.
"The hell is with that lame ass question? This is why I hate books. I don't care what power is I just don't want to lose anyone that's all. No matter who the opponent is I'll mow them down I don't need any boring explanation of what power is. The power I want is power. Doesn't matter if my opponents a god. I'll take 'em all out." Blackstar boasts determinedly declaring it as he lunges at Kid.
"Hmph…what a simpleton." Speedily, Kid shuts Kid down swiftly slamming his foot down on Blackstar blocking said strike.
"Haven't you heard simple is big?" Boastfully, Blackstar smirks smugly, reeling his fist back.
"It's best! But it doesn't matter whether its big or best now after all everything will be reduced to a nothingness of boundless symmetry." Scowling, Kid corrects him clashing his fist with Blackstar's own, glaring, glowering at Blackstar.
"Huh?! What…!? And you call me simple…everything reduced to nothingness that ain's so different from me." Blackstar points out.
"Don't lump me together with you! I have order it's not so crude as your power." Poisonously, Kid sneers disgust dripping down his fierce feral tone.
"If the outcome's the same the means don't matter." Blackstar states.
"Wrong!" Kid snaps scowling forming in his sin stance.
"I'm not wrong!" Blackstar snaps scowling.
"There's no way the power to reduce all to knighting is the same as you." Kid states annoyed.
"Symmetry Symmetry I always thought you were a loudmouth and now it's nothingness nothingness but though I think symmetry is alright. I don't like nothingness with the power of nothingness you can reduce your enemy to nothing don't you feel anything? Is that the emotion of nothingness?" Blackstar disputes, his fist clenching, shaking, fury flowing through him when thinking of a certain swordsman.
"That's right…" Unapologetic, Kid answers straight-faced only further frustrating Blackstar seething, snarling.
"So you have no feelings about opponents you've overcome yeah I defiantly don't like it…STOP JOKING AROUND! Is that the ultimate power you came up with!? So then you're saying you're going to erase Liz and Patty ss well? Even your own mother!? It's the raving of the ultimate moron!" Mad, Blackstar snaps scowling. He slams Kid into the wall seething snarling baring his feral fangs at Kid.
"So then what is it you want to do once you have your ultimate power to lay waste to your hands…once you have it what's left to you?" Unfazed, Kid questions.
"Shut up like I know. I'll think about that once I've become the strongest. But I'll say this once right now you're not at a God's level." Bluntly, Blackstar tells Kid whose gold glower.
"I'm a Shinigami what do I need with a level or whatever shit you're talking." Sneering, Kid huffs.
"Ah that's right you're just a regular god." Blackstar smirks striking at Kid with a variety of furious fists.
"What are you trying to say?" Scowling, Kid demands fed up easily blocking his strikes.
"You can lower yourself to being just a regular god and you can become just another useless person that's what so great about you. I was joking around and said I wanted you to kill me but you punched me the hell out and left me alive." Blackstar explains to Kid.
"I didn't punch you out I used my heel." Curtly, Kid coldly corrects Blackstar.
"That's right that's the source of precise guy Kid is. Lord Shinigami said that the Shinigami govern death and life of all living things by talking so big about the nothingness of symmetry. You're just giving up on balance because it's annoying to manage and stating its okay to leave a blank slate. That's not ultimate or anything." Blackstar tells Kid whose glowing glare only narrows further from his words.
"Heheheheheh! I'd finally found it…found where I could let out the past 800 years worth of bloodlust I'd been waiting all this time switching bodies over and over waiting…for me with my short attention span it was like an endless journey…I could only hold out because Arachne was out there…this is nowhere near force of 800 years bloodlust and you destroyed it all…C''MON SHOW ME A GOOD TIME! I WON'T END THIS QUICKLY! I'M GOING TO TORMENT YOU! AND TORMENT YOU! I'M GOING TO ENJOY MYSELF! I'LL KILL YOU BUT NOT YET! PATIENCE! PATIENCE! I'LL TORTURE YOU BRUTALLY AND EVEN WHEN MY BLOODLUST IS OVERFLOWING PATIENCE! EVEN WHEN ALL THE BLOOD VESSELS IN MY BODY ARE READY TO BURST AND IT SEEMS LIKE I'VE REACHED MY LIMIT PATIENCE! CAN'T YOU SEE THIS HUGE TOWERING SAW BETWEEN MY LEGS!? OH YEAH I'M A GIRL RIGHT OW HAHA!" Haughtily, Giriko taunts gesturing to his trousers below before placing his hands on his hips.
"You okay Maka?" Soul asks clearly concerned.
"Yeah but it looks like I've taken few too many hits but more than that…what a tremendous soul wavelength." Mesmerized, Maka stares stunned at the sheer soul intensity emitting out of the giddy Giriko.
"Can't you quiet him down with adagio of the soul?" Scowling, the devil within Soul suggests.
"I feel like the soul wavelength alone is going to tear me to pieces." Pained, Maka winces.
"I know! I know! I'll try it now…" Soul scowls rushing over to the piano ready to do so.
"I'M ALL OILED UPPP I'M GONNA SHRED YOU TO BITS!" Bellowing, Giriko snarls seething.
"SHIT!" Soul curses as he is about to press down on one of the many keys of the piano only to cry out, being blown back by the sheer forceful feedback.
"Soul!" Maka cries out worried.
"Urgh…my ears…it's not good he's louder than any sound my piano can produce." Pained, Soul slams his hands over his ringing ears grimacing.
"There's no one who can stop me now! I will not be stopped!" Snarling, Giriko growls lunging at Maka, his chain saw like ponytail strikes at her.
"Witch hunter!" Maka screams reeling her scythe back glowing, glistening.
"There's no way something like that could take 800 years of bloodlust." Cackling, Giriko easily breaks said blade.
"Maka!" Soul cries out as she is thrown back before being snatched by her head.
"Ah man a girl of what fourteen of fifteen body torn up with wounds you're telling me a brat like this killed Arachne and fucking ate her soul? I can't take it…ah…ahh…that's enough right? I can kill you know right? I've had so much fun torturing you I've even kind of startled to like you…but I'm at the end of my patience I've had enough fun…if I hold out any longer all this fun will just turn into pain I'll kill you…kill you…I don't have to be patient anymore…you! What're you doing interfering like that!? This is a fight between girls I was thinking of what would be the best way to finish her off! I don't wanna hear the opinion of a prick like you, you little shit! HOW SHOULD I KILL YOU!? MAYBE STRANGLING YOU WOULD FEEL THE BEST AFTER ALL….Well then that's settled. Ngh…D-Damn what's going on!?" Giriko taunts her sneering down at her about to break her head only then to falter, Giriko's eyes dilating.
Hey is something wrong with him…?" Soul scowls when noting him dropping Maka wincing.
"This…the bloodlust the insanity his soul…his soul can't withstand the pressure of 800 years bloodlust anymore." Maka realizes.
"AHHH! What!? Stop fucking around!" Angrily, Giriko snarls.
"No matter how new a body and soul may be its too small to contain such bloodlust." Maka comes to the conclusion.
"Stop fucking around stop…I just need to kill you. The rest don't matter. I want to kill you…I'LL KILL YOU!" Giriko yells.
"The more you want to kill me the more you strain your soul it'll explode. This is the chapter of sloth rest there are plenty of chairs you should give up on killing me…" Maka tries to warn her but…
"SLOTH!? You telling me to just sit around some more? When you were killing Arachne I was off sleeping like an idiot there's no way I'm just gonna sit around again. Just you…just you is fine there's no way I held out for so long and now if I want to kill you my soul won't hold out…? You must be joking… I'VE GROUND YOU DOWN THIS FAR! I'LL KILL YOU IT'LL TAKE ONLY ONE MORE HIT! I WENT AS FAR AS HAVING TITS DANGLING FROM MY CHEST TO GET HERE I'LL KILL YOU!" Giriko roars screaming shouting yelling.
"You want it that badly? If your desire-" Maka begins but…
"SHUT THE HELL UP YOU PISS ME OF-" Furious, Giriko screams only then for said screech to be cut off as his voice cracks almost like a popped balloon. He comes plummeting to his knees, going limp, slack as he resides in the world of Sloth while the other two move on heading to the next chapter of the book of Eibon.
"Huh…this brings back memories." Ava arches a brow by the sight of the temple before her seeing many men and women give offerings to her as a younger form of her garbed in a toga lies on the setting sofa, a heavy fabric draped over the top of the bedside of sorts where the servants tend to her every whim while her brother sniffs the gauntlet of purple, beaming brightly, his hues glistening gleaming grinning. He celebrates cheering, downing said gauntlet much to the men and women draped over his form, cheering his chugging on.
"You mean you giving up on war." The index states the fact firmly earning an eye twitch from the annoyed Ava.
"I did not give up. My men were tired, I was tired, my brother was tired so we decided to treat ourselves to a day off what's wrong with that?" Tensely, Ava demands from Index furrowing her brow at him.
"It amazes me how despite you giving up on the war during this peaceful time of yours how you managed to trigger so much chaos within the mortal realm." Resolute, Index points out making Ava grimace, wincing at the sour spot.
"I wouldn't put it like that." Attentively, Ava feeble disputes scratching the back of her neck uncomfortable at the murky memory, having had one too many gulps of her brother's masterpiece.
"It was thanks to you that the trojan war started." Sternly, Index reminds Ava annoyingly rolling her eyes exasperated.
"The boy wanted a pretty girl, so I gave him one." Huffing, Ava points out frustration flowing through her veins. She was only being fair, it was a rare find besides the boy was one of her hunters, he had been working hard for her. She had seen how much sacrifices he had bestowed upon her only fair she pay him back to keep him coming.
"You gave him a married one." Index reminds Ava gritting her teeth together releasing a small harsh hiss at the sore spot of her murky memory.
"Hey back then it was different do you know how many mistresses my brother had?" Huffing, Ava adds waving the index off.
"…Your brother created a sex cult." Index reminds Ava placing her forefinger to the collar of his shirt, tugging at said collar wincing at the memory.
"…Yeeeaaah that I wasn't really there when that happened. This hunter gave me an golden apple do you know how rare it is to find one? Only fair I return a rare prize with another." Awkwardly, Ava tries to defend herself brow furrowed.
"And cause a war." Index states making Ava's eye twitch.
"I didn't know okay?!" Annoyed, Ava snaps sharply scowling, raising her hands up in exasperation.
"Sister I'm baaaack I'm the best matchmaker ever!" Loudly, Ingram's voice bellows boasting about it cheerily cheering, joyfully skipping around the temple.
"Urgh…not this." Ava places her hand to her head shame smeared all over her furrowed features.
"Remembering something?" Index asks Ava.
"Only that the idiot fell for some girl that tried to kill him!" Angrily, Ava barks back, remembering the memory far too well, her brother rushing over to her side as she slept, crying his heart out enraging her as she held him, cradling the broken hearted boy before her, wanting nothing more than to tear that slut limb from limb. She could feel her feral fangs peer out, she could feel her feathers protrude out of her skin hardening ready to slit her throat for what she had done to her baby brother.
"Oh yes you intervened didn't you?" Index points out as Ava scowls at the memory of the girl sobbing her heart out believing some girls who heavens knew how they managed to find her brother's secret spot. She had heard it all and wanted nothing more than to teach this girl humility and maybe then learn her place in the pecking order.
"Yes! My brother is very much a lovesick child he believes he knows what it is but gets hurt constantly so what's wrong with me looking out for my little brother." Bitterly, Ava scowls at the memory, her brother always got into trouble whether it be through the world of politics or of the soaring sea she would always have to clean it up.
"You locked him up in a cage." Index reminds Ava faltering from the memory at the mention.
"My mother locked me in a cage all the time." Huffing, Ava brushes Index off furrowing her brow at the memory of the brat boasting about proving the harvest that year acting as if Ava had done nothing. She did her job and that's what she was meant to do. She knew this girl was getting too big for her shoes so thought to cut her down to size by having her brother deal with her, she had no clue he would fall for her. Ava grimaces at the sharp sting of a headache resurfacing from the miserable memory.
"And you don't see the problem with that? Index asks as Ava's eye twitches at the memory of complete said trials, trying to have her learn humility to do her own work for once but nope the ants help her with the grain even the sea nymph did, despite her hope of the girl just drowning and being done with it all. But nope the girl kept it on and on until she knew what had to be done.
"…No! I mean he was going to go back to a girl that was going to kill him! Besides that psycho girl was clearly after more than just him." Haughtily, Ava huffs at the memory scowling seething only then to smirk smugly when she remembered telling the girl to go to Death to give him a letter. A favour for a favour, maybe down there she could realize the futility of their relationship, he would have to bury her after all and that was just selfish.
"I'm sure." Dryly, Index remarks making Ava furrow her brow by the dryness drenched in his tired tone just as he is about to turn the page. Ava grimaces when a familiar coal crisp claw snatches her dragging her down into the dark depths of the underworld…
"Blackstar we're leaving Kid to you…" Tsubaki whispers waiting alongside the others as she and the others reside in the chapter of greed.
"Sis…." Patty furrows her brow concern clear on her face as she looks towards Liz.
"Run for it Patty! If they catch us they're not gonna let us off easy!" Liz screams at her little sister wincing when hearing the sound of bullets being fired high in the sky searing the air as both Thompson twins bow their head fleeing from the mobsters running after the two that is until…
"We didn't hear anything about the Brooklyn devils having back up like this…" Miserably, the mobster moans groaning, curling in on themselves defeated, swirls spiraling in their hues.
"We're saved…." Stunned, Patty and Liz stare stunned at the defeated mob.
"You two are beautiful I'm going to be creating a perfect world and I'd like you two to become my left and right hands!" In awe, a younger Kid beams brightly at the two in awe, his golds glistening, gleaming at the sight of the two stretching his arms out happily at the sheer sight of them.
"Sis! He says we're beautiful!" Beaming, Patty perkily smiles up at his sister.
"Sh…shut up…we're used to hearing that don't be so happy." Huffing, Liz glares glowering at Kid.
"I'm a Shinigami I came from Death City after hearing about you infamy and beauty." Beaming, Kid reveals to the two.
"Shinigami!" Stunned, Liz does a doubletake at the reveal.
"DEATH THE KID!" Surprised, both of them jolt up at the voice turning to see a woman rushing over kicking the bodies scattered to the side, stomping on a fair few ignoring the groans below.
"Oh hello mother." Merrily, Kid beams brightly at his mother oblivious to the bodies below.
"THE HELL WERE YA THINKING RUNNING OFF LIKE THAT!? DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED I WAS!" Angrily, Ava sharply scowls at her son berating him, crossing her arms over her chest cross.
"Sis ist that…?" Quietly, Patty whispers staring stunned at the woman before them.
"L-Lady Death…" Liz whispers taken aback by the sheer sight of the woman pinching the cheek of the boy berating the wailing whimpering boy.
"When was the last time you ate?" Annoyed, Ava sharply snaps Liz out of her thoughts taking aback to see gold glaring into her hues.
"H-Huh?" Liz stammers stuttering shocked.
"You're as thin as sticks! You must be freezing in this weather also!" Annoyed, Ava furrows her brow at the sight of the two.
"I…" Liz begins brow furrowed not quite sure what to make of the sudden attention.
"Kid you okay with these two being your weapons?" Ava asks her son looking over the two furrowing their brow at Ava.
"Yep." Kid nods his head confirming it.
"You have no idea how much of a fuss my son caused just for wanting two same guns…urgh…sorry for what you're going to have to deal with." Tiredly, Ava sighs exasperatedly as she turs to look rather pitifully at the twins.
"Deal…with?" Lost, both Patty and Liz share a look lost.
"Come along now." Kid tells the two as they follow after him and Ava heading out of the alleyway, oblivious to the sharp smug smirk of Liz.
"Shinigami…heh finally our luck has changed kek you shitty brat I bet you never had a hardship in your whole life I'm just gonna squeeze you till you're dry…Determined, Liz vows glaring, glowering at the two.
"You two just going to stand there all day or what?" Impatiently, Ava calls out to the two.
"Huh?" Both twins snap out of their thoughts.
"Come on it's time for lunch and you two clearly need it." Ava tells the two, gesturing for them to follow.
"I hate the mother who abandoned Patty and me…but I guess since she was the most beautiful whore in town I should thank her for beating two pretty girls…still this girl who the hell does she think she is acting concerned for us. She barely even knows us tch. Shinigami whatever moron you spoiled little Kid blessed by birth now it's our turn, money power, we'll take it all…Liz's eyes narrow as she glares at the two's back to them.
"Patty behave yourself for a while." Smirking, Liz drapes her arm over Patty's shoulder.
"Got it." Patty smirks sadistically following them to lunch.
"Huh?" Liz blinks baffled by the forefinger on her temple.
"You really should stop making such expressions you'll get wrinkles if you keep doing that." Smirking, she tells the girl flicking her temple.
"I…will?" Dumbly, Liz says not quite sure what to say.
"Yeah now come on it's clear you haven't eaten for days. Let's get some food down ya yeah?" Softly, she smiles at Liz.
"…Y-Yeah…" Liz whispers softly following behind her.
"I thought that as long as the two of us were together we could have fun living our lives we didn't need anyone else we were so angry we wanted to erase everything besides ourselves. I've always had to look out for Patty never had I have someone look out for me?"
"Hey Liz you said you liked that artist right? That jazz guy? Here…" Smiling, Ava shows the ticket to her.
"Tickets?" Perplexed, Liz furrows her brow befuddled by the ticket.
"You and Patty would go see them from time to time right?" Ava recalls taking Liz aback.
"We'd sneak in sure." Shyly, Liz grimaces glancing to the side sadly.
"Well here oh and here get something for you." Smiling, Ava passes said tickets to her.
"W-Why?" Lost, Liz stares stunned down at the ticket in her grasp.
"…It's your birthday isn't it?" Ava argues surprising Liz.
"…How did you?" Liz furrows her brow, her hues narrowing.
"Don't you think it's time you treat yourself for once?" Softly, Ava argues.
"…My mother before she was nothing but a whore who abandoned us who left us for dead, who left us to starve on the street but lady Ava she…she cared for me, she…she's always been someone I can go to, to have a shoulder to cry on, to talk to, to argue with…she…she never gave up on me nor Patty she…"
"Sis?" Patty calls out concern clear on her furrowed features when seeing the tears threatening to fall from her beady blues, seeing her bite her lip trying to stop the tears but…
"This may be the chapter of greed but who cares…I don't need money all I wat is for Kid, lady Ava and Blackstar to come back safe….i don't need anything else.
"Liz you okay?" Tsubaki takes note of Liz's state holding her by her shoulders as something seems to break crack in Liz, the dam finally breaking before her friends.
"I…I haven't thanked them yet…Kid…lady Ava…" Anguished, Liz whimpers, sniffling, the tears freely falling. She breaks down before her friends caring comforting the crying wreck…
Ava grimaces as she finds her younger self sat on a throne, Death by her side as a male is on his knees before the two performing, small streaks of coal cascade down his furrowed features. He sings before the two, tears in their eyes at the melody being proudly played before them. The two lean against one another smiling softly at the boy before him. The two share a small smile making Ava falter furrowing her brow by the memory of the two leaning against one another. She bows her head in the crook of his neck of sorts as he wraps his arm around her.
Ava remembered this, the boy wanted nothing more than to see his lover again and so the two complied to his wish only with one warning to the boy but of course he doesn't listen, he never listened…Ava falters furrowing her brow by the murky memory crossing her arms anxiously over her chest at the sad solemn memory. She noticed her garb being black with hints of emerald, she always wore white to wear black was interesting to say the least, she had to admit she preferred his fashion over the people from home. She remembered the two talking over the garb, gushing over the fine fabrics. She enjoyed it a great deal, him helping her, the lingering touches with one another, a faint feeble hue of ruby red rushes to her cheeks at the memory.
"What astounds me is how many people think Death kidnapped you." Impressed, Index remarks almost amazed as Ava blinks baffled by the voice snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah…don't know where that came from." Uneasily, Ava glances grimacing to the side.
"I think you do." Index states.
"Urgh not my fault people don't like death well the concept anyway. I mean I owed him one so I had to…" Scowling, she glares as another page shows Death alone as a familiar girl approaches him, a letter in hand which he reads only then to pass her a box but without even thinking of the consequences of doing so, opens said box being welcomed to the world of the dead.
"You were also alone?" Index adds as Ava grimaces at the sour memory of her furious fuming brother, tears freely falling from his eyes yelling, screaming, berating the sister that had protected him, that had saved him, that had been there for him more times than most.
"Could we not?" Pained, Ava combs her fingertips through her hair feeling her blood bubble, burn, boil at the resurfacing memories. She had practically raised him, he had no one but her and she made a life for them both for weeks, for months, for years and this is how he repaid her by trusting some stranger over his own flesh and blood…
"It's true after your brother left you to live with psyche who became a goddess not as popular as you sure but she was close to it. It was just you there alone in that temple." Index reminds Ava trying to blink back the tears threatening to fall from the memory of her sat on the sofa lounge. Her servants few and far between. She yelled at them, screamed at them as they fled fearful of her. No doubt joining the others that had fled to Psyche's side leaving her to cry, to wail, to scream as the voice continued on and on pounding the fact firmly in her head.
"WOULD YOU SHUT UP!?" Angrily, Ava barks back at Index, the shy stream of bay blue descending down from her bloodshot gold glaring at Index.
"But it's fact." Index argues clearly confused by her reckless rage.
"Yes well maybe sometimes people don't want to think back on those facts, maybe your brother should be grateful that your sister stood up for you and had that girl prove herself. I mean how was I to know that girl was going to die?" Enraged, Ava rants as she paces back and forth fuming, fury flowing through her at the memory.
"You send her to death." Index adds.
"Yeah well…shut up!" Angrily, Ava slams her foot down on the ground.
"Mature." Sarcastically, Index remarks making her seethe.
"Oh shut up! I've been the mature one for eons who do you think had to deal with his hungover ass? Who had to deal with his lovesick woes? Who had to do his nappies!? Who had to clean up his mess time and time again! Maybe I just wanted a break to myself but when I thought I had that break it only caused more drama so maybe just maybe I wanted to get away from it all. Get this voice out of my head telling me time and time again how I will always be alone and just needed…" Upset, Ava turns towards her lone form, alone, her temple barley standing as she lied upon the flower floral bed of her garden where before her soon shadow draped over her form as she looked up…
"An escape." Index remarks as Ava's past selves glassy gold glisten looking up to see the singular anemone offered to her…
"…Yeah." Shakily, Ava sniffles trying to wipe away the tears from the memory watching Death help the upset woman up.
"Through your greedy need of escapism he was deemed the villain in this story of yours dread Persephone." Pained, Ava grimaces at the title bowing her head at Index cold curt words.
"Could you not call me that!?" Tensely, Ava requests annoyed.
"Would Kore work? It was the name you used for your human disguise." Infuriately, Index offers much to Ava's dismay.
"Look I have many names each one as frustrating as the next. Besides we all had old names, if I recalled right Death was called Hades for a time no? Sometimes he would be called Ares! I wasn't the one being greedy either. He was no better either." Enraged, Ava argues frustration flowing through her veins, grinding her teeth together. She scowls at the memory of her having roamed around his home looking for Death to talk only then to take note of the sound of screaming, shouting, screeching alerting Ava who had approached only to see two randos with snakes coiled around them both befuddling her. She remembered the sheepish smile of Death saying to ignore them saying dinner was ready as she simply arches a brow not buying it one bit but for once did not care and this was her day after all, so she joined Death for food, ignoring the pleas behind her as they both head for dinner just as Index turns towards the portal having opened up for the two.
"It's time…" Index tells Ava.
"About damn time." Tutting, Ava huffs as she leaps into the portal, heading into the dark depths of the secret section of the book of Eibon below, ready for whatever is thrown her way, wanting one thing only to get her baby boy back.
"So…you have finally arrived." The great old one announces alerting both boys looking down their hues widening when seeing the descending figure of Ava as she stands before the creature, a cold curt mask upon her furrowed features.
"…Do you know how much of a pain it was coming down here the least you could have done is send me an ivnite for old times sake you know?" Annoyed, Ava remarks.
"Mother!" Kid calls out to her mother, her gold glare down at him making him flinch from her cold curt glare.
"I see you're still as flippant as ever with the power scaling." Scowling, she returns her attention to the figure before her.
"…What do you want woman?" Rudely, the old one demands from her.
"I want my son out of this book and I want the madness you infected him out along with Blackstar." Sternly, she commands the creature.
"And I should just comply with your command?" The old one scowls up at the woman only then for Ava to bow her head, closing her eyes.
"Mother…?" Meekly, Kid whispers, the stripes upon his lips fading, his sharp scowl softening concern clear upon his face when hearing the crisp crunch of bone seeing her crane her head to the side screeching, screaming. Her body contorts before her back protrudes feathers from it, scarlet smears waft in the water before them as she stands tall before the creature, her hues narrowed, crisp coal consuming her snow-white iris as her gold glowers down at the creature before her.
"Do not forget who outranks you creature?" Coldly, she reminds the creature flinching from her cold curt tone.
"…So you have finally gone back to her…" The old one remarks a faint tint of disappointment in his tone as Blackstar screams when suddenly a portal opens up before him.
"THE HELL!?" Blackstar bellows startled.
"Blackstar thank you for all you've done but I think Soul and Maka are going to need some help getting out of sloth." Sternly, she tells Blackstar raising her hand to him, catching the cold curt command from the goddess.
"Sloth those slow pokes you got it those lazy bugs wont stand a chance with me around." Anxiously, Blackstar smiles strained, he couldn't help but feel the shy shudder of fear flowing through him at the sheer sight of the goddess.
"I'm sure…" Scowling, she dismisses the boy brushing him off as the portal sucks him in just as the wings protruding out of Ava's back revert back to her skin.
"…Mother. I'm…" Kid begins brow furrowed, just seeing her here…Kid could feel the tears threatening to fall as he stood stoically before her, trying to be strong, trying to be brave, trying to…
Kid's eyes widen when feeling a pair of arms around him, holding him.
"I'm sorry." Softy, Ava whispers bowing her head into his shoulder, his hues widening when hearing the crisp crack of her voice alarming him.
"Mum this isn't…" Fretfully, Kid tries to stop her, she couldn't have stopped this, she had no idea this would happen, she shouldn't blame herself for this…
"I should have stopped him, I should have…I'm sorry I really am sweetie." Softly, Ava whispers, her voice cracking breaking as her temple touches his.
"Mother…I…I saw so much I…" Conflicted, Kid bows his head he had so many questions but where would he begin? He had no clue…
"I thought as much I suspect you have many questions." Sighing, Ava's gold soften sadly at her little boy.
"You…you're the reason the werewolves are extinct." Kid begins brow furrowed making Ava grimace.
"…Technically that's your fathers." Feebly, Ava glares to the side.
"You're the one who made them criminals!" Curtly, Kid corrects her making her sigh sadly at the valid point.
"Kid…" Ava begins brow furrowed having no clue how to begin, how to explain herself, she had so much she wanted to tell her little boy but…she knew she didn't have much time left.
"How could you?" Hurt, Kid demands from his mother, a whole race of people were slaughtered thanks to her hunted down…
"You think I'm proud of the things I've done? Kid I've made mistakes I may be your mother and a god but I'm still capable of making mistakes." Mad, Ava argues annoyed defensively.
"I just…I don't understand I…these memories of me I don't remember this, I don't!" Frustrated, Kid disputes making Ava winces when hearing his words.
"Because they aren't yours…" Quietly, she whispers pain plastered all over her fragile features flabbergasting Kid.
"What do you mean they're not mine!? Whose memories are they if not yours or mine for that matter!?" Mad, Kid demands from his mother mystified by her hurt expression.
"…Your brothers." Shakily, she whispers, the tears freely falling from her.
"…What?" Stunned, Kid whispers staring shocked at his mother feeling the ghostly touch upon his cheeks. She closes her eyes while he does the same, seeing pitch black but soon the scene shifts, contorts, changes to…a cot? Confused, his small hands coil around the thick bars of wood where he hears shouting? Kid grimaces furrowing his brow by the sound of screaming, screeching, shouting, hearing the sound of furniture breaking being thrown from side to side.
"He is but a boy!"
"He is to be a warlord your coddling has made him dependent!"
"He isn't a fighter Death why can't you handle that!?"
"That boy is to be a fighter, a warlord he will have his future be ruined by you!"
Kid grimaces when seeing the boy before him whimper, wail cutting through the screaming shouting as he sees
"Where are you going!?"
"Out."
"Don't walk away from me!"
"Why don't you go bother that witch who actually wants you!?" Kid could feel the tightening arms around himself as he hears his mother scream at his father before storming off.
"That's…me?" Meekly, Kid whispers, brow furrowed feebly watching on as his mother's younger self scurries towards the door ignoring the demonic voice of Death shouting at her. Kid didn't remember this sure his parents would argue but not to this degree, not to this intensity he could feel his body shake, quiver, quake from the raised voices alone as he could hear his father's deep dark growl resonating throughout the room.
"GET BACK HERE WOMAN!" Death snarls making Kid shake, quiver, quake, his father rarely used his old voice but hearing it always brought fear to Kid, that was when he knew he was in trouble.
"No kid. No it's not." Surprised, Kid jolts up at the voice in his head.
"Then who…?" Kid begins brow furrowed only then for his hues to widen when finding himself in his old form outside the house alongside his mother just as his mother's younger self flees from the house. The rain roars, pouring down as the young Ava tries everything to keep the babe in her arms safe just then as they pass do Kid's gold clash against a pair of shaking scarlet…
"Those eyes…" Kid flinches from the familiar eyes, a brief flicker of three eyes appearing right before his eyes as he blinks baffled when next he knew he was floating in the water with his mother's hands either side of him, his gold gazing into a pair of glassy gold as she bows her head.
"Asura's your brother Kid." Pained, Ava reveals the truth to Kid staring stunned at the truth just as he opens his mouth about to ask more he gasps when finding himself floating up. He tries calling out to her but bubbles spurt out of his mouth mystifying him as to why now would the effect of water fully take effect. Next, he knew, he was thrown through a portal, reaching out to his mother but she simply smiled up at him, a sad smile mouthing…
"I'm sorry…"
