Samuel Santillan: Yeah. If Neji/the elders find out, he might be very pissed, or shocked, or both.
NinjaFang1331: Thank you.
biginferno: Who knows what will happen.
dragonslayerjahn: I mean… there isn't much I can do. Temari is Tenten's weakness. The only way to make it more interesting would either have Temari toying with Tenten or just have them face different people.
Imperial-samaB: Smirk.
Freddielebron: Yes, I know. I may be taking some people out of it.
Re Lovely Lover: Thanks for the many reviews and pointing out some things I clearly hadn't thought through. From here on, I'll try and make things make more sense, if you know what I mean. But, I'll only answer the questions you have of the last chapter, since that'll make this A/N too long if I answered all of your questions and concerns.
1) The genin were too interested in knowing what kind of information Kabuto had than wondering why he had that kind of info.
2) Basically, yes.
3) Yeah, you're right. Whoops.
Otaku-king-389: That's sweet to hear, thank you!
TheLightYagami: Here you go.

Like I said above, I'm most likely going to be taking some people out of the harem. Like Kushina, I'm definitely taking her out. I do plan on reviving her, and I want Naruto to have a normal Mother-Son relationship with her since, you know, she's been dead his whole life. I'll give my reasons for why I'm removing someone in the upcoming chapters. Anyways, enjoy.
Chapter 17: Exams III
The genin were about to begin, but then Naruto sensed something behind him. He turned around and spotted a square rock sitting perfectly still.
'What the… are you shitting me right now…?' Naruto thought as he sighed. Sakura saw the rock and couldn't help but giggle. Sasuke just crossed his arms and scowled.
"Konohamaru Ninja Squad… what the hell are you doing here?" Naruto asked as he nudged the front of the rock.
"Darn, looks like you got us once again, Boss! You have some good eyes!" Konohamaru complemented.
'It's not hard to point out a square rock in the middle of an open field…' Naruto replied in his head. The square rock was thrown away and three smoke bombs went off. Naruto held his breath before making the Snake → Ram → Boar → Horse → Bird hand seals then clasping his hands together. 'Gale Palm!'
He pushed his hands out and blew away the smoke, revealing the Konohamaru Ninja Squad. Everyone looked at the commotion being made up front and was confused by why kids were here.
Once the three kids stopped coughing, they looked up at Naruto and stared at him. The young Sarutobi then noticed Sakura and his eyes widened.
"Hey, it's-" before he could finish, Moegi slapped her hand over his mouth to muffle him. Sakura raised an eyebrow, curious as to what he was going to say, but then someone appeared behind the three kids.
Naruto and Sakura's eyes slightly widened at seeing Haku appear, while Sasuke's scowl deepened at the reminder back in Nami no Kuni.
"Haku? What are you doing here?" Naruto asked, flashing the girl a smile.
"Oh! Hi Naruto, we're here to do an interview on the genin that are participating in the Chuunin Exams for the Academy newspaper," Haku responded as she smiled back. "And you're one of them."
"An interview, huh? Guess I could give you guys one if you need it," Naruto said with a shrug.
"Hey! You over there! What are you doing, you're holding up the exams!" Anko exclaimed as she walked over to the small group.
"Oh, hi Anko, these guys need an interview on the genin participating in the Chuunin Exams for the Academy newspaper," Naruto responded as he looked at the purple haired woman.
Anko gasped, then had a sheepish grin on her face as she rubbed the back of her head. "Oh yeah, I forgot all about it! Lord Hokage had mentioned something about them interviewing me!" Naruto deadpanned at the woman as she awkwardly laughed.
"Alright everyone, we're taking a ten minute break! We got a small interview goin' on so be respectful to the reporters from the Academy!" Anko commanded as she looked at the waiting genin.
Naruto turned back to the KNS plus Haku. "Alright, let's get this interview over with."
After the interview was over, the genin stood in their places and waited for the exam proctor to speak.
Naruto was slightly shaking in excitement. He couldn't wait to finally take this part of the exams and Sakura seemed to notice this as she got by the blonde.
"Naruto, are you okay?" The pinkette asked her teammate.
The whiskered blonde whipped his head at her with a grin. "Hell yeah I am! I'm just super excited to take these already, with so many genin around to fight!"
"Huh, you seem more energetic than usual," Sakura noticed as she put a finger to her chin.
"Hehe! I dunno, might be Kurama or Kirai's influence on me, but I've been feeling hyped ever since we started these exams!" Naruto explained as he pumped his fist.
"Kirai…? Who's that?" Sakura wondered, slightly tilting her head.
"Oh, guess I never explained that to you, but I'll have to do that later," Naruto answered.
"Sounds good to me," Sakura complied as she smiled. Naruto's grin turned into a smile as he looked at her, then his eyes widened and he quickly put his arm up in front of Sakura. The pinkette's eyes widened too at seeing a kunai so close to her. She looked at where it came from, and saw Anko's hand out.
"Whoops. Since you two were talking, I figured you guys must've not cared and just wanted to talk. Guess I was wrong. Nice catch, slick tongue," Anko spoke as she walked up to the duo. Naruto deadpanned at hearing that nickname and rethought his first interaction with a certain Inuzuka.
"Let's not talk about that again," Naruto said as he handed her the kunai.
"So, how'd talking with Tsume go?" The purple haired woman asked with a teasing smirk.
Naruto gained a faint blush as the memories flooded in. "O-Oh, you know… it went well…"
She raised an eyebrow as she pocketed her kunai. "Uh huh… seems like somethin' else happened, care to explain?"
"She forgave me for the threat I made and we talked after, that was all!" Naruto answered with a sheepish smile.
Anko looked at him with a raised eyebrow before chuckling. "If you say so~" Anko said as she turned around. "But I'll get my answer one way or another." She walked back to her spot, while Naruto frowned. He didn't like the fact that she didn't believe him one bit.
"Now before we begin this test, I have something to hand out to you all," Anko announced as she pulled out a stack of papers from her coat. "Just standard consent forms. Before the test, you all are gonna read over this and sign it. Some of you may die in this exam, and I really don't wanna deal with other nations getting pissy cause of your own faults. You'll all have to sign this if you wanna participate. Pass these out, will ya." She handed a genin the stack of papers and he took one before handing the stack to the genin next to him.
"Now, I'll explain what you'll be doing on this test. The first thing you need to know is that this test will tax every one of your survival skills. First, I'll give you all a description of the terrain on the practice field." Anko described the battleground and its perimeter where there were forty-four locked entrance gates. There was a river that went through the middle of the gigantic forest and in the middle of the river stood a tower where the genin were to go to complete the exams. She explained the rules, which there were none, and told the objective of the test, which was to get a hold of either a heaven or an earth scroll, depending on whichever one you needed.
The purple haired woman also added that the genin were to complete the test in five days, which caused a bit of an outrage from Team 10. She also said the ways to get disqualified, which were if a team couldn't get to the tower in five days, if a team loses a member or one becomes incapacitated, and if a team opens up a scroll before they reach the tower, they'd be disqualified.
"Alright, after reading your consent forms, take 'em over to the scroll booth to get them exchanged for a scroll," Anko instructed as she pointed towards a booth that had three jounin sitting there stationed. "After that, pick a gate and wait."
"Oh wait, one more thing… don't die," she added making most of the genin's eyes narrow. Naruto grinned, excitement coursing through his body.
'Can someone explain to me why I'm so excited?!' Naruto asked his two inhibitors.
"Whoops, that would be me, sorry!" Kirai apologized. "Guess some of my emotions are mixing with yours."
Naruto would've sighed, but a chuckle came out instead. 'It's whatever. Can't say I'm not excited either way.' After what Anko said, the jounin set up a red curtain over the booth, so that no one would know which teams had what scroll.
Naruto was reading over his consent form while trying to find Sakura, since he knew Sasuke wasn't going to be standing around her or him.
"Wait, brat," Kirai spoke, grabbing Naruto's attention.
'What's up?' He asked.
"I want to try a new technique on that proctor woman," Kirai responded, making Naruto halt.
'W-Are you crazy?! Try a technique on a jounin?!' Naruto questioned the entity.
"Hold on, let me explain myself! I noticed that Anko chick had a cursed seal on the back of her neck and I wanted to see if I could get rid of it without using the Evil Releasing Method," Kirai explained herself.
'... And what's the Evil Releasing Method?'
"It's known to be the only way to remove a cursed seal, but the user who put the cursed seal on the victim has to do the technique or else it won't work if someone else tried it," Kirai responded.
'Okay… and you came up with a technique that can remove a cursed seal, but you want to try it out to make sure?'
"Yes, and Anko is perfect for this since she has one."
'Alright… and what do you call this technique?'
"Uzumaki Seal!"
'What?! Why name it after me?!' Naruto questioned, slightly taken back by her answer.
"Cause you're the one that's using it, not me."
'I mean I guess… alright, whatever, let's try it.' Naruto mentally side, but then a question came up in his mind. 'Does the Uzumaki Seal only get rid of the cursed seal or does it do more?'
"... Uh… I only had the intent of getting rid of cursed seals… but I guess you can sure mine, Kurama, and your chakra with her," Kirai responded.
'How the hell does that work?' Naruto wondered as he raised an eyebrow.
"Um… I don't know how to explain it to you cause you've never done this before and you'd have no idea what I'm talking about…" She replied before humming. "Okay, say you had an aura around you, like a powered up form, right?"
'Yeah.'
"And since the person that has the Uzumaki Seal is connected to you, they can also use that form but the form would look different to adapt to them. You understand?"
'Yeah… yeah, I understand what you mean. Wait, does that mean she could use the Kyuubi Emergency Mode?'
"... Well, yes and no. Yes, she can use KEM. It'd look different from yours, but she could use it. And no, because if she does use it she'd die in five seconds or less. If she used it, Kurama's chakra would override her chakra system and if she can't h for it/it's not compatible, Kurama's chakra would come back to you and she'd die since the requirement to activate the form would be basically having no chakra."
'Wait! So if she were to just use it while having chakra, she'd die?!' Naruto guessed.
"Precisely. So unless she has low chakra, either from exhaustion or any other means, she can't use the mode unless she wants to die."
Naruto looked at the ground before exhaling and nodding. 'Alright, let's do this. I'll tell her about that later.'
"Great. You don't have to make any hand seals for this, just press your hand on her back, or anywhere, and lightly push while saying the technique name," the entity instructed. Naruto nodded and took a deep breath. He looked up from his consent form and looked around in hopes of finding Anko. The woman was currently talking to the jounin stationed at the booth and past her, he saw Hinata standing by an outlying tree.
The whiskered blonde nodded to himself and walked over to Anko, but acted like he was walking past her. Thankfully, it paid off and none of them were suspicious of his actions.
Naruto raised a hand and gently put it on her back before lightly pushing forward. 'Uzumaki Seal!' After that, he quickly sped up his walk while trying to not look suspicious.
Anko stopped talking as she recoiled forward and her eyes widened. On her neck, the three tomoe vanished as a seal similar to one on Naruto's stomach but on a smaller scale appeared instead. Anko felt something leave her body and quickly looked around herself.
She spotted the whiskered blonde walking towards the Hyuuga heiress with his head down, reading the consent form.
'What the… what the fuck did he just do…?' She asked herself as she stared at the blonde.
"Anko! Are you alright?!" One of the jounin inquired as he stood up along with his other jounin.
Anko looked back at them and nodded. "Yeah… I'm fine…"
Sakura read her consent form as she was walking around. 'Man… this thing is… cruel to say the least.'
"You got a visitor," Inner Sakura informed, making Sakura look up and around. Her eyes laid on Ino as the girl was walking up to her, but she didn't look like she wanted to start a fight with the pinkette. Sakura got skeptical as she held the paper down a bit and watched the platinum blonde make her way over.
'... Something's off with her,' Sakura noted as the blonde stood in front of the pinkette. They both stared at each other before Ino broke the silence.
"Uh… hey, Sakura… how are you?" Ino asked, completely catching Sakura off guard.
'Huh?!'
"Huh?!"
"I… I asked how you are. It's been awhile since we talked without arguing…" Ino answered, looking at the ground.
Sakura raised an eyebrow. Now something was definitely going on with Ino… and she had to know what it was.
"Uh… I-I'm fine, how are you?" Sakura asked back.
"I've been… alright, I guess," Ino replied with a shrug. "Good job on passing the first part of the exams."
"Thanks… you too…" Sakura thanked. Why was Ino acting all friendly all of a sudden? "I'm surprised my body didn't get possessed by your technique."
"Eh, I was going to, but Naruto was already done with the exam, so I took over his body," Ino said, which made Sakura furrow her brow a little. "Though… I'm never doing that again…"
Now Sakura was really curious. Why did Ino shiver once she said that?
"Uh… Ino… what happened?" Sakura asked, slowly leaning in. The blonde whipped her head up and looked around, making sure no one was listening.
"D-Did you know the Kyuubi was inside of Naruto…?' Ino asked in a hushed voice with wide eyes.
Sakura stared at Ino for a moment before smiling. "Yeah, I know."
"I know right-wait, what?!" Ino leaned back and quirked an eyebrow. "You… you knew…?"
"Yeah. He showed me, or rather, showed us," Sakura answered.
"... 'Us?'"
"Me, Kakashi-sensei, and a few other people, but that's all," Sakura listed.
"... How did he show you?"
"Our last mission about a month ago, we were tasked to escort a person to their home country safely. The C-Rank mission quickly turned into a B-Rank, then an A-Rank once we were hunted by a missing-nin."
"A missing-nin?! H-How?!"
"Apparently the person we were protecting had a target on his head by a wealthy business man that was controlling their country," the pinkette nonchalantly answered. "Once we got there, we got attacked by him, but Naruto fended him off until a fake hunter-nin joined in and took him away. The hunter-nin was his partner but we didn't know that. Fast forward to when we're on a bridge the people were making for salvation, the missing-nin and his partner come and interrupt us. We–well, Sasuke faced the hunter for a bit before getting beat. Naruto came to protect him, Sasuke almost killed him out of jealousy, Naruto knocks Sasuke out of the battle, then the business man comes in with a bunch of thugs and wanted all of us dead, even the missing-nin he hired. Anyway, Naruto summons a clone, but that clone wasn't just any clone, because the clone and Naruto both transformed into the Nine Tails and fended off the thugs."
Ino just stared at Sakura in shock. Her brain tried to process what Sakura told her, and it took her a minute to fully digest the pieces of information she received.
"I-I can't believe it… were you scared?" Ino wondered.
"Psh, of course I was. Seeing two Bijuus at the same time isn't exactly what you wanna see Ino, especially towards someone you were mean to," Sakura responded, but then she adopted a skeptical look on her face. "... How'd you know Naruto had the Kyuubi inside him?"
"Uh… when I took over his body, I was trying to read his answer for the first question, but then his body pulsed and stopped moving. I tried to move it, but I couldn't. When I looked back up, I was somewhere else, in a sewer to be exact. Then, I saw glowing red eyes that stared deeply at me and I felt so scared. And then the Bijuu showed itself to me as it… glared at me… But what surprised me was that there was a woman next to the Bijuu, and… she was more scary then the beast…" Ino told as she shivered.
"... A woman?"
"Y-Yeah… apparently she was from a long time ago… but she's stronger than the Kyuubi, and it agreed with her!"
Sakura's eyes widened. 'Naruto has something else inside of him now…? Is it Kirai he mentioned?'
"I think it's what you're thinking about, Sakura. I wonder why he didn't tell you before."
While Sakura was internally discussing with her inner self, Ino slightly fidgeted before sighing.
"Sakura."
"Huh?" The pinkette asked as she looked up at the platinum blonde.
"... About Sasuke… why did you stop talking to him? You didn't care that I was all over him when we met in the exam room."
"Because Sasuke's an asshole. First, when we were doing a test for our sensei, he never planned to help me at all, and Naruto ended up trying to help me instead. Then, during our mission in Nami, Sasuke almost got me killed by his own fireball attack and called me worthless! And even before that, he's been pretty rude to me whether it be calling me annoying or simply not caring about my existence," Sakura responded as she crossed her arms.
"He… he really did all of that…?"
"Yeah, he did! And I still 'loved' him after what he's done to me too. Can't believe it took me almost dying and getting scared shitless by Naruto to realize that…" Sakura responded with a sigh. "Just a heed of advice: you do not want to see Naruto with red eyes and fangs… it's really scary…"
"R-Really…?"
"Believe me. After what happened in Nami, I confronted him head on because I was mad for no reason. He then got super pissed because of what I said and his eyes turned red as he grew fangs. I was pretty terrified," Sakura answered as she chuckled. "Oh how idiotic I was back then…"
"Is… is Naruto… is he better than Sasuke is?"
"Way better. He's really helpful and kind, also smart, funny, fun to be around, and more. He's helped me find my affinity as well!" Sakura replied with a smile.
Ino hummed as she thought back to when they both were in his mindscape and he said how he didn't hate her even though she hated him.
"I'm… I'm sorry, Sakura…" Ino apologized in a low voice.
"Huh? Why?"
"Because… we stopped becoming friends after both liking the same guy… and that was stupid, really stupid. Also because of the way I acted towards you."
Sakura smiled at the platinum blonde and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, it's okay, I forgive you. I admit that it was really stupid for us to stop being friends because of our similar interest in Sasuke. Let's be friends again, yeah?"
Ino smiled brightly at the pinkette and nodded. "Yeah, let's!"
"Good luck on the Chuunin Exams. If we ever find each other, I'd like to take you on," Sakura said with a smirk.
"Same with you, Billboard Brow," Ino returned.
After some time passed, a jounin stood in front of the booth and looked around. "Alright genin, we're now passing out scrolls!"
The genin looked towards him and stood up, regrouping with their squads before walking up to the booth. One by one, the teams got their scrolls.
When Team 7 went into the booth, they exchanged their forms for a heaven scroll. Naruto grabbed it and smirked, but Sasuke scowled at him.
"What are you doing? Give me the scroll," Sasuke said as he held his hand out.
"Tch, you kidding me? I'd rather have my hand get cut off then give you the scroll. We all know you'd just charge in when we see an enemy team and get our scroll compromised," Naruto denied as he tapped the middle of his chest and a seal activated. He slid the scroll inside there. "I'll hold onto it for now."
"You idiot! You're not strong enough to hold onto it!" Sasuke insulted as he grit his teeth.
"You mind keeping your voice down?! There's other people here, jackass!" Naruto whispered. He then turned around with Sakura. "Hurry up, we need to move." The two of them walked out of the booth while Sasuke stood there for a moment, glaring at Naruto's back, then got out of the booth.
After everyone got their scrolls, Anko looked at the watch on her wrist. "Alright, get to your assigned gates and when they open, the exams begin!"
The genin dispersed and walked over to their gates. Naruto looked back and saw his three girlfriends looking back at him with smiles on their faces. He smiled back before turning around. Once Team 7 got to their gate, which was Gate 12, they waited.
Sakura looked at Naruto and saw that his eyes were slits and he was trying to suppress a huge grin. The pinkette couldn't help but giggle.
"You must be really excited, Naruto," Sakura noticed with a smile.
"Huh? Oh-! Of course I am! Who isn't?!" Naruto replied with a wide grin. Sakura noticed that two of his teeth were more pointy.
"Yeah, you're right, even I'm excited to test out my skills against these genin," Sakura agreed as she looked at the gate.
They waited another minute before it opened, signaling that the second part of the exams had begun. Without wasting any time, Team 7 ran into the Forest of Death.
Aoika, Kuroka, and Kiryu were taking a leisurely stroll through the giant forest. Normally, Kiryu would've ran in head first and looked for enemies, much like Shisu would, but Kuroka opted to take it easy and have the enemies come to them. Kiryu couldn't argue since Kuroka was smarter than her, and she didn't want to go against the golden-eyed noirette's intelligence.
But, it was boring having to just walk. They could've at least ran, or make a bit of noise. Aoika looked at her teammate's sullen face with crossed arms.
"Don't worry, Kiryu, you'll get a chance to fight someone soon. How about this? When we find a team, we'll go with the Sparkling Detonation plan, and if they're still standing, you can fight their leader. Sound good?" Aoika offered. The noirette with crosses on her cheeks instantly lit up at the offer and smiled.
"You mean it, Aoika?!" Kiryu checked.
"Of course. You don't mind that, do you, Kuroka?" Aoika responded as she turned towards the leader of their team.
"Of course not. She can go wild, but after the plan," Kuroka answered with a smirk. Aoika turned back to the now grinning noirette.
"Awesome! Now I really can't wait!" Kiryu exclaimed as she pumped a fist in the air.
Aoika chuckled, but then a thought crossed her mind. She turned to Kuroka. "Hey, Kuro… what if we… uh, happen to cross paths with that blonde Konoha genin?"
Kuroka's smirk faltered and she frowned. "I don't know. I was thinking about that… but I can't think of anything. He's obviously stronger than he looks, given he scared almost all of the genin in the room besides Shisu, the blonde girl from Suna, and the redhead. Hell, I'd even say the Suna chick was turned on by it."
Aoika looked at her with a raised eyebrow, but then decided to not question it. "So, should we retreat?"
"If they have a heaven scroll… then we can't retreat. I'd rather finish this sooner than later," Kuroka answered.
"I could take on the blonde!" Kiryu joined with a hand raised. The two girls looked at her with quirked eyebrows. "I have my kekkei genkai. It'd be pretty hard to bypass it, since they're extremely hard."
"Hm… yes, that could work. Alright, you're taking on the blondie," Kuroka decided. Aoika looked at her, then at Kiryu and sighed.
"Alright, we'll deal with his two teammates," Aoika added. Kiryu nodded and the team focused on their surroundings.
They walked a few more feet before stopping and dodging a random kunai throw. They looked at the direction where it came from before spotting three boys walking out from the bushes. They looked way too cocky for their own good.
Kuroka looked at the middle boy's hitai-ate and saw Sunagakure's symbol on it. "Suna genin, huh? Well, this should be interesting."
The boy in the middle had brown hair that was spiky, black eyes, an orange t-shirt with green pants, a couple brown belts wrapped around his waist, and blue sandals.
The boy on the right of him had black, messy hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing a sleeveless, white shirt with grey pants and blue sandals. His hitai-ate was wrapped around his waist and he was shorter than the other two.
Finally, the boy on the left was taller than the both of them. He had brown hair with black eyes, a mask covering the bottom half of his mouth, and a black hood over his head. He was wearing a black hoodie with his hands in his pockets, black pants, and blue sandals. He had a backpack on his back as well.
Kuroka narrowed her eyes at the three Suna genin in front of her. She then smirked and looked down at them condescendingly.
"Hah, these are our opponents? What a joke!" Kuroka insulted, then laughed, and Aoika laughed with her. Kiryu didn't laugh but she also looked at them with disappointment.
"What a shame… I can't tell who's stronger, they all look equally weak," Kiryu noted as she rubbed the back of her head.
The Suna boys looked at the girls and gritted their teeth. "We're not weak!"
"Stupid whores from unknown villages don't know their place," the hooded boy spoke as he shook his head.
"Damn right. They don't know who they're messin' with," the middle boy said as he scowled at Kuroka.
"Hey, Kiryu. If they survive, you can take them all on," Kuroka proposed as she looked at her friend.
Kiryu flexed her fingers and cracked her neck with a smirk. "Deal." Her skin changed to a scaly texture and she readied herself to rush them.
"Get ready, cause I'm coming' at you hot!" Kiryu shouted as she took off. The Suna boys weren't prepared for the unexpected speed. "Sparkling Scales!" Kiryu crossed her arms and touched her elbows. She then quickly scratched her entire arms length and threw her arms forward, spreading out the sparks that accumulated from her scales.
The boys stood there, dumbfounded, at the large amount of sparks that flew towards them. It was until the sparks were directly over them that they reacted.
"Dobo!" The boy in the middle called to his hooded teammate on his right. The boy was about to do something, but Kuroka and Aoika were faster.
The two girls faced each other before intertwining their fingers together. They put one arm back and the other forward. They both looked at Kiryu and they both made a finger gun while pointing it at Kiryu's back.
"Plasma Release: Double Double Lightning Scatter!" Kuroka and Aoika started coursing with light purple and white electricity before it traveled to their fingers and shot out in two thin streaks of lightning. The lightning struck Kiryu's back before it came out the front of her chest and scattered. The lightning rushed over the sparks, and a second later, the sparks began exploding, setting off a chain reaction. The boys couldn't move thanks to them being electrocuted, and they unfortunately had to watch the explosions coming closer to them before they inevitably reached them.
The three girls heard the loud screams of pain from the boys and smirked. After the explosions were done with, the girls saw the boys on the ground with serious burn marks over them.
"I'm surprised a body part is still intact," Kuroka voiced with slightly wide eyes. Kiryu walked over to the boys and crouched down. She searched their bodies and soon felt something. She quickly grabbed it and looked at it, only to be disappointed.
"It's another earth scroll," Kiryu told her teammates. Aoika sighed as she walked past the unconscious boys.
"That's unfortunate, but it does mean we get to have more fun. These boys were clearly weak, given they didn't withstand the Sparkling Detonation."
"Man… I wanted to fight them myself too…." Kiryu said with a sigh.
"Hopefully the next group won't be so weak," Kuroka said as she moved past the both of them and walked ahead. "Come on girls, let's hope our friends are doing well."
"Right."
Akame and Hyoshi were trying to catch up to Shisu. The blonde girl simply couldn't contain herself, especially when she knew he was in this forest somewhere.
"Ugh, I wish she'd calm down at least a little bit," Hyoshi spoke. "It's a pain catching up to an animal."
"She's always been excited to fight strong opponents, but now that she's found someone stronger than her, she's really excited," Akame deduced. Hyoshi looked at her, then at Shisu and saw a tail wagging uncontrollably.
"Kami, you're right. Her animal features don't come out unless she's using Lionelle in that way or super excited," Hyoshi agreed. Akame just nodded as they continued following the speedy blonde.
'Come on, come on, come on, where is he?! I can't smell him anywhere!' Shisu whined in her head. After seeing the blonde passing the first part of the exams, she got super excited to the point where she was vibrating madly in her chair. Luckily, no one noticed.
The reason for her excitement? Well, a certain blonde proved to be way more powerful than her and with a simple glare at that. She kind of lied to him when she said the killing intent didn't affect her. It did… but not in a way she'd proudly admit…
"Can you calm down for five seconds, Shisu?! I can't think when your sporadic thoughts are everywhere!" An inner voice grilled with a low growl.
'Sorry, Lionelle! I can't help it!' Shisu apologized with a smile.
"Why are you so excited to face someone who's way stronger than you anyway?" The lion asked.
'Um… well… y-you know…' Shisu couldn't finish her thought as a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. The lion within her seemed to get what she was trying to say.
"… I see…" Lionelle said as she slowly nodded her head.
'Y-Yeah…'
"So, do you-"
'Please don't finish that thought!' Shisu pleaded.
"... Alright, but pay attention, you're in the front lines now since you can't seem to contain yourself," Lionelle told the blonde.
'Ah! You're right!' Now concentrating on her surroundings, Shisu's blush went away.
The blonde girl stopped as she landed on a branch. Her other two teammates landed next to her.
"You pick up something, Shisu?" Hyoshi asked as she looked at her teammate.
Her visible lion ears twitched and turned before they both turned to the left of them. Her ears bent down and tugged forward, indicating that something was near.
Akame and Hyoshi looked at each other and nodded. Akame got her Kiriichimonji ready and Hyoshi got her own sword ready. Shisu turned her head towards the newfound noise and hopped off the branch followed by her two teammates.
They landed in front of a team of Ame genin, startling them.
"Huh?!" One of them questioned as he got in an offensive stance with the others following.
"Wait a minute! It's those no-named village genin! They're not a threat at all!" The one on the right spoke. He had on a straw hat and a mask over the bottom half of his face. He was wearing a heavy, grey cloak and had black sandals on.
"Oh, this should be easy then," the left one said as he slightly eased up. He had black hair slicked black and black eyes. He had a grey scarf and was wearing a grey t-shirt with black pants and sandals to match.
The middle one just stared at the group with narrowed eyes. He took off the weapon on his back and pointed it at the team. "I'll take the blondie, you two can decide who you wanna fight." The middle one was wearing a grey jacket with black gloves, pants, and sandals.
"You got it, man." The left one said as he looked at Akame and Hyoshi. "I'll take the light blue chick, you can have the black one, Tajiro."
"Got it."
Shisu looked at the three genin with malice. She knew these guys weren't strong compared to her, but she wanted to smash their faces in. No one talks about her village like that, especially when they don't know a thing about it.
"Akame, Hyoshi," Shisu spoke, grabbing her teammates' attention. They were pissed too that these guys said something bad about their village, but Akame didn't show it.
"What's up, Shisu?" Hyoshi asked as she looked at her teammate.
"Go wild on these guys," Shisu answered before disappearing, surprising her and Akame. The Ame genin were shocked for a second before the boy in the middle was suddenly sent flying back. Shisu appeared in his place, in a high kick position.
The boy in the middle crashed through a tree before hitting the one behind it and falling.
"Tone!" Both of his teammates shouted as they looked at their fallen comrade.
"Yo! Eyes up front, assholes!" Hyoshi shouted, making the two turn around. The one on the left got blasted by a jet of water, then Hyoshi ran past Tajiro to chase after his teammate. He looked back and before he could see the black haired girl, he curled over and was sent flying to his left.
Shisu walked up to Tone and stared down at the struggling boy. When he looked up, he saw Shisu's eyes were now slightly glowing and she had black slits. He also noticed her hair was longer and more spiky, her hands were now yellow, furry claws and her tail was slowly waving behind her.
She stared at him, and he stared back with a shocked face. But once the tail stopped moving, he was sent flying again, but he crashed through three trees before being forcefully stopped. He was then smashed into the ground. Tone was forcefully lifted up into the air before being punched in the gut. He hit a tree and spat out blood as he fell down. Tone was trying to catch his breath, then tried to get up. He whipped his head at Shisu and saw the blonde girl sitting down.
"Get up. I'll wait," she said as she rested her cheek on her claw. Tone clenched his teeth as he forced himself to get up.
'Who does this bitch think she is?! Some no-named whore from an unknown village thinks she's better than me?! I'll show her!' He thought as he made the Tiger → Ox → Tiger → Rat hand seals.
"Water Release: Water Bullet Technique!" Tone shouted. He kneaded the chakra in his stomach and spat out a large torrent of water at Shisu. The blonde girl stood up and put her claw forward. The water clashed with her palm, but didn't move past it.
Tone's eyes widened as Shisu effectively stopped the water torrent. 'What the fuck?! How is she able to do that?!'
"Lionelle: Hydration." The water was soon forming around her claw and Tone's eyes widened, making him stop his technique. The remaining water that shot towards her soon formed a large bubble around her claw. "Drink up, girl."
"Understood." Soon, the water around her claw was absorbed into it.
"W-What the fuck?!" Tone questioned as he unknowingly took a step back.
"I don't like doing more than I have to to people I don't like, but this is a special occasion since you decided to call Sanyagakure a 'no-named village' and that we're 'not a threat.' I'm gonna have to teach you a lesson about underestimating people," Shisu spoke as her claws now had a yellow aura over them. She cracked her neck then glared at Tone with her glowing eyes. "Get ready, cause I'm gonna fuck you over harder than these Chuunin Exams would."
Akame loomed over her opponent as he was trying to get up.
"Oops. Did I perhaps hit you too hard? It was only a simple punch," Akame Asia's as she slightly tilted her head. Tajiro grit his teeth as he looked up at Akame.
"Fuck you, bitch! You and your stupid, worthless village!" Tajiro insulted.
"If I'm not mistaken, isn't Amegakure worthless as well? Your country is small and has been in a civil war for years now. Sure, you have Hanzo of the Salamander, but what's the point of that if he doesn't do anything?" Akame inquired.
"Shut up! Don't disrespect Lord Hanzo like that, you bitch!"
"So defensive…" Akame noted as he began standing up. Tajiro threw a punch, but Akame simply sidestepped. He continued relentlessly trying to hit Akame, but the girl dodged every strike. He screamed in anger before throwing another punch, but Akame jumped back. This gave him time to make hand seals. He made the Tiger → Ox → Tiger → Rat hand seals.
"Water Release: Water-"
"Yang Release Sword Technique: Luster Dragon." Akame held her sword up above her head, but pointed at Tajiro. Kiriichimonji started glowing a faint white as Akame touched the side of the blade with two fingers. She then dragged them across the blade and slid her fingers off before pointing at Tajiro. The white aura around her blade started moving more before it twisted around her blade and recoiled back. The white aura shot forward and as it left the blade, it formed into the head and upper body of a small dragon with light blue eyes.
All of this happened within a second, and Tajiro didn't have time to move. As he got hit with the technique, he substituted with a log. The boy was a safe distance away from the girl as he smirked, but it was all for nought since the explosion that followed after was huge enough to blind him.
He screamed as he covered his eyes and tried to rub them to clear his vision, but the explosion of light was greater than he expected.
"Shit shit shit!" He cursed, still trying to clear his vision. Since he was distracted by this, he failed to sense Akame coming closer. The noirette readied her blade and disappeared before reappearing behind Tajiro. His right arm was sliced cleanly off from the elbow down and he didn't realize it until he couldn't feel anything from there. "W-What happened to my arm…?"
"You won't be needing it, so I cut it off," Akame responded, making him jump at the sudden voice.
"W-Wait… you cut off my arm…?"
"Of course."
He began hyperventilating and almost screamed hadn't it been for Akame and her hitting the back of his head with the handle of Kiriichimonji.
"We don't need any unwanted attention," Akame said more to herself than to the unconscious boy.
Hyoshi stood over the boy that was lying on the ground. She had her boot on his chest and was slightly adding pressure to his ribs.
"Man you're boring. I wish I got Akame's opponent instead…" Hyoshi muttered before stomping, making the boy below her recoil and scream in pain. "Come on… you're so boring."
"Shut the fuck up…! Bitch!" The boy cursed at her with gritted teeth.
Hyoshi narrowed her eyes at him. "You sure do curse a lot. You should get that checked out."
"Fuck you!"
"Just a suggestion."
"I don't care! You no-" Hyoshi harshly kicked his side and made him crash into a tree. The boy spat out blood as he landed on his back. He covered his stomach and he rolled over, but then a boot was blocking his vision.
"Call us a no-named village one more time and I'm going to hurt you more than I have before," Hyoshi threatened as she stared down at the Ame genin with narrowed eyes.
The boy grinned as he looked up at Hyoshi. "You're nothing. You think you're stupid village is strong? Well you're wrong. Amegakure would absolutely crush you no-named worthless bitches."
"... I did warn you," Hyoshi said before taking a step back and putting her hand forward. "Ice Release: Crystal Magnitude."
The ground rumbled below the Ame genin for a second before a giant crystal of ice shot up, capturing him in it.
"Perfect. Now stay there while I try a new sword technique, okay?" Hyoshi brought her sword in front of her and put one foot in front of the other. "Ice Release Secret Kenjutsu: Kanheki Hyozo."
She brought her sword down a little lower before disappearing. She reappeared behind the frozen Ame genin and it seemed as if time slowed down. Once Hyoshi raised her eyelids halfway, the ice crystal broke. The genin's limbs were cut off and he had a perfect carving of the tattoo on Hyoshi's chest on his own but larger.
His body parts fell to the floor and his eyes were wide. Hyoshi sheathed her sword and looked at the dead Ame genin over her shoulder.
'Sorry, Miss Proctor, but it seems like someone already died.'
Shisu punched Tone into the ground and made a small crater with him. She grabbed his jacket and flung him high in the air before following him. Once Shisu reached Tone, she scratched his back, leaving a deep scar and passed him, but not before grabbing his jacket again. She did a barrel roll with the Ame genin, then threw him towards the ground as hard as she could.
Tone crashed into the ground, creating another crater but larger. Shisu then landed on him, forcing him into the ground and heard audible cracks. Tone screamed in pain as he was almost certain his back was broken. The blonde girl got off of him and yanked him in the air. She then punched his right side as well as his arm, breaking it while he was sent flying away.
The genin crashed into a tree and was about to hit the ground, but then Shisu appeared below him and kicked his stomach, making him airborne again. She quickly did a kip-up and as he was coming down, she punched his ribs, breaking a few in the process. She twirled around and grabbed his head with both claws before throwing him into the ground. She effectively got his head stuck into the ground while the rest of his body remained above it.
"Let's go back to my friends. I'm sure they're done with yours," Shisu said as she stood up. The blonde girl grabbed one of his legs and heaved him out of the ground. She then reeled her arm back and flung it forward, striking him in the gut.
Tone flew away, crashing into many trees towards the spot Shisu wanted him to go.
Akame was by a tree with Tajiro on the floor. Hyoshi returned with the head and chest of the other Ame genin.
"You really did a number on him," Akame noticed as she looked at the limbless boy.
"So did you," Hyoshi replied.
"Not as much as you did," Akame retorted.
Hyoshi pouted and looked away. "He called me a bitch multiple times."
Akame looked at her for a moment before deadpanning. "So you killed him because he called you names?"
"You're not exactly innocent here either! Your boy is going to die from that wound! He won't be able to get it treated, and he'll lose a lot of blood!"
"At least I didn't get angered by petty insults," Akame fired.
Hyoshi whipped her head at the noirette and grit her teeth. "He called us no-named worthless bitches! I can't let them talk shit about us like that!"
"Let them," Akame said. "Let them run their mouth and realize how wrong they are. I've realized that a lot of these villagers are hostile and are too arrogant for their own good, like Iwagakure for example. All they need is to be shown just how wrong they are and they'll shut up quickly."
Hyoshi stared at her friend and she stared back. She was going to respond, but a body slamming into the tree right above Tajiro's body stopped her. Both Akame and Hyoshi looked at Tone's body fall and land on top of Taijiro's.
They both looked ahead and saw Shisu walking towards them with an annoyed smile.
"Hah… I used much more force than I had to," Shisu spoke as she rubbed the back of her head.
"No kidding, he looks fucked up," Hyoshi noticed as she looked at Tone. "You really transformed for this?"
"I was pissed."
"Still, you shouldn't have used more than needed. What if someone saw you?" Hyoshi asked.
"Meh, who cares? They can come at me all they want. I'm beatin' their ass either way," Shisu responded with a cocky grin.
Hyoshi sighed. "Should we kill these genin?"
"They already can't complete this part of the exam since on of their teammates is dead and another is arriving at Death's Door quickly. Just kill him," Akame decided with a shrug.
Shisu nodded and picked up Tone. She tossed him high in the air and pointed her claw at him. Behind her, a giant lion that was bigger than all the genin combined, appeared and quickly jumped in the air after the airborne boy. The lion opened its mouth and quickly ate the boy whole. It landed next to Shisu as it snacked on the corpse.
"Was that necessary?" Hyoshi asked with a cocked eyebrow.
"Lionelle needs to eat sometimes too, ya know," Shisu responded as she crossed her arms and pouted. The light bluenette rolled her eyes at the answer.
"Wait! What if he had the scroll we needed?!" Hyoshi questioned as she looked at Shisu with wide eyes. The blonde's eyes also widened as well as Akame's. The three girls slowly looked at Lionelle, but the lion was too busy eating. When she felt the eyes on her, she slowly looked up and saw the girls looking at her.
"... Is there a problem?" The lion asked innocently.
"... Did the boy you just eat have a scroll…?" Hyoshi asked.
Lionelle closed her eyes and thought for a moment. She did feel like she ate paper for a brief moment. "Um… I believe so…"
"AGH! DAMNIT!" Hyoshi cursed as she put her hands on her face and groaned. Akame silently sighed as she crossed her arms.
"Oh… sorry, I forgot you needed another scroll," Lionelle apologized. Shisu audibly sighed as she rubbed the lion's mane.
"It's alright, Lionelle. We'll just find another one."
"Right, let's get a move on quickly before anyone tries to ambush us," Akame told. Her two teammates nodded and they quickly jumped away from the scene.
Temari and her team were walking through the forest, not particularly worried about anyone jumping them since Gaara would instantly kill them. The Suna blonde was thinking about what she'd do with Naruto after the Chuunin Exams, then a thought occurred to her that made her eyes go wide.
'Oh… oh no… I forgot about us destroying Konoha! Fuck fuck fuck how could I forget that?!' The girl thought as she lowly groaned and gripped one of her spiky buns. She brought her other hand to her mouth and bit her nail nervously. 'Fuck! How do I tell him about us attacking Konoha?! Ugh why are we doing this anyway?! Why did Baki agree to do this? Why did Father team up with Orochimaru?! Why why why?!'
She gripped her bun harder as more thoughts rushed into her head. 'Calm down, Temari, think woman, think! If I get a chance to be alone with Naruto, or any Konoha jounin for that matter, I'll just tell them. I really don't want to destroy this village… it's nice here, and this is Naruto's home… I can't do that to him!' Temari sighed and let go of her bun. But with her in her thoughts, she didn't notice the kunai coming straight at her. She looked up with wide eyes and didn't have enough time to dodge it. Luckily, Gaara's sand blocked the kunai from reaching her forehead.
She looked surprised for a second while Gaara just stared at her and Kankuro raised an eyebrow.
"Pay attention, or else I'll kill you," Gaara told, his sand dropping the kunai at Temari's feet.
The blonde blinked and nodded. "R-Right… it won't happen again."
Gaara simply turned around and used his sand to track down the genin that tried killing Temari. Kankuro continued looking at her.
"You okay, Temari? You're usually not the one to be distracted with your thoughts," Kankuro wondered.
"Don't worry, Kankuro, I'm fine," the older sister reassured before walking past him. Kankuro simply looked at her sister's back before sighing.
"If you say so."
Temari ran after Gaara and after finding him drowning a genin in sand, she saw two others standing away from the sand burial in fear. The Suna blonde threw her closed fan into the sand and jumped on it, using it as a stepping stone before jumping again. She quickly gripped her fan and tore it out of the sand as she did a flip. Temari fully opened the fan up and swung as hard as she could.
"Great Sickle Weasel Technique!" She shouted as the wind from her swinging furiously clashed against each other. The wind quickly traveled towards the two fear-ridden genin and cut them up in quick succession with deep gashes. She noticed that there was a gash in one of their necks and blood sprayed from the wound. She looked at the other one and spun around before throwing her fan like a shuriken.
"Giant Folding Fan: Shuriken!" The fan spun rapidly and thanks to it being heavy, the remaining vacuum pockets couldn't mess up its direction. Without being able to defend himself, the genin got lodged in the chest with the folding fan, successfully being wedged into many of his vital organs. His eyes widened and the winds died down. The genin coughed up blood as he fell back and Temari grabbed her fan and closed it before putting it on her back. She searched the body for a scroll and found it, but when she pulled it out, was disappointed to see it was a heaven scroll.
The Suna blonde turned around to see Gaara just looking at her and Kankuro slightly surprised. "This group had a heaven scroll." The redhead didn't say anything as he walked past her with his arms crossed. Temari looked at his back with a deadpan look. 'It'd be nice if he could at least say something…'
Kankuro walked up to her. "Nice move. Didn't know you could throw your fan like a shuriken."
"I just thought of it on the spot. Surprisingly it worked," Temari responded and stood up. "Let's catch up to Gaara before he threatens us."
Kankuro nodded and the two older siblings quickly caught up to Gaara. Temari paid more attention now, but a thought crossed her mind.
'Maybe I should name my fan…'
