Chapter 46: Twin Attack!
Estelle looked at the women who stood before them and knew that she wasn't yanking their chain. This woman knew something about Cinder and Estelle had an idea of what that could be. Closing her eyes and crossing her arms she began to speak to the woman.
"I already know that she is alive."
The woman raised an eyebrow as she looked at Estelle. She was very impressed at how she figured out the information so quickly. Uzziel gritted his teeth and braced himself in silence. From what Yang had told them, Cinder should have perished in the fight with Raven. How did she survive? The question itself enraged him. The woman smirked and shook her head in amazement.
"You may have that figured out, but you don't have the answer to what she's planning next. If you work for-"
"She's headed to Atlas. I also have an idea on why she's going there."
The woman's eyes widened as she was completely cut off by Estelle. She was now starting to get a little aggravated with Estelle. "You also continue to speak as If I don't know who your boss is." Estelle turned around and was beginning to walk away.
"Tell Lil' Miss, I'm not interested in her little scheme to make money. We did business once before but that was the first and last time. I've been watching Cinder for a long time now, waiting and biding my time to strike. I don't need your boss's help." This left the woman speechless as she was sure she could get a little money out of Estelle and her companions.
"Let's go, everyone. Our train will be here shortly." Estelle said, which made everyone look at the woman once more before following her. The woman growled and walked away knowing she didn't want to push this situation with Estelle any further.
As Estelle and the others steered back to the main area of the station, Jarvin looked at his niece. "Mind telling me, who Lil' Miss is?"
Estelle sighed as he looked at her uncle, leaning on a pole and crossing her arms again. "Lil' Miss Malachite. She's a shady gangster who runs her organization in Mistral. She and her followers use a spider theme. She has tabs on everything, which in her favor leads her to get paid by others for information."
"From what you said back there, I'm guessing you did work with her in the past?" Regulus asked.
Nodding in response she looked up at the screen above them, seeing the text on it saying that their train would arrive in thirty minutes. "After I found out about the death of my parents. I ventured off to find answers. During that journey, I ran into Lil Miss once I had gotten word about her connections. She was the one that led me to the information I needed to know that Cinder was my target. But of course, that information wasn't free and not only did she want payment for it, but she also wanted me to execute someone as well."
"Was it Cinder?" Nolo asked
Lance smacked his shoulder and raised an eyebrow at Nolo, looking at him as if he was an idiot. "No you fool, why would she use Cinder's death as a trade for the information on Cinder?" Lance asked.
"It's not an uncommon thing Lance. People will use others as a way to get what they want to be done even if the person they use is benefiting off of it." Midori added begrudgingly.
"It was Roman Torchwick" She answered.
"The guy that worked with Cinder? What problem could she have possibly had with him?" Miyabi turned to question.
"Years ago, The Spiders entered into a feud with a rival gang, The Mouse and Parrot. During this, Lil' Miss had Roman, now her second-in-command, bodyguard her daughters. When agents of Roman and his partner at the time, Chameleon, break her trust, using her daughters as leverage for the Parrot gang, Lil' Miss had Spider rescue Roman and her daughters. Afterward, she had Chameleon punished and disgraced and invited Roman to a dinner. There, she asked him why he thinks she's upset at him, and upon hearing the incorrect answer, made it very clear she'd like Roman to put his interests after her own, and that she would make it very clear if he ever were in trouble with Spider."
"However, Roman did not heed this warning, and within the next six or so years, began to collect double payments without his boss' permission. This did not go unnoticed by Lil' Miss, who'd grown tired of Torchwick's disobedience and arrogance. When Roman approached Broken Memories, a black-market shop that reverse-engineered Atlesian technology, Lil' Miss sent out Chameleon, who'd since regained her honor, to assassinate him. She was unable to go through with the action and as such Lil' Miss' plan was foiled as Roman escaped to Vale." Estelle finished.
Dyna put a finger to her lips as she thought for a moment. "So I'm guessing that's where you came in?"
Estelle nodded "Months later, Lil' Miss grew new ambitions, ready to take over the Vale criminal underworld with the help of Lady Browning's Preparatory Academy For Girls, a faction aligned with her own. She sent her Twin daughters to the prep school, where they would attempt to assassinate Roman Torchwick."
"Twins? Are you talking about the two girls that work in the nightclub in Vale?" Uzziel asked as he looked at his sister.
"You ran into them?" She asked as she stood up straight.
"Yeah, we-"
"What were you doing at a club, mister?" Estelle asked as she put a hand on her hips and got closer to his face, giving her brother a stern look.
Uzziel gave her a nervous smile as he put his hands up to try to keep her at bay. "We were tracking down the White Fang and Yang brought me there to see if we could get information." He explained nervously.
"That better be the reason. You were not of age yet!" She added.
"Well, I can see why you would turn her offer down. Especially since you never fulfilled her request to kill Roman." Jarvin articulated.
"You see, he was taken care of by a Grimm so she got what she wanted either way so I'm guessing she let that stipulation go," Estelle replied with a brush on her neck.
While that was going on, in another area of the train station, the woman that was turned down was suddenly stopped by two girls as she was walking.
"It seems like she's turned down the kind offer of information you were trying to give her." The first girl said.
"I guess we'll have to convince her another way." The second female added.
An hour later….
The group was sitting on the train conversing amongst themselves as they were waiting to arrive in Argus. Everything was peaceful and calm until….
"Alright everyone listen up!"
The people on the train looked to see Melanie and Miltia standing in front of two men and two women who seemed to be unarmed but were sporting the purple colors of Spider.
Uzziel recognized them immediately and smirked. "Hey sis, remember those Twins we were talking about?" he asked.
"These are the twins you mentioned? Yeah, these girls are Lil Miss's daughters." She replied.
"It's good that you remember us!" Melanie quickly replied.
"Estelle dear, we've been informed that you declined our mother's offer. We both know you don't have that option." Miltia added.
"I have no desire to work for your mother," Estelle expressed candidly.
"You don't get to decide that!" Miltia quickly exclaimed.
Taking a slow step forward she pointed at Estelle. "You owe our mother a favor. You know you didn't keep up your end of the deal you two made. We are here to collect on that favor."
"I think we should all just calm down." Midori chimed in.
"Hush little girl, the adults are talking," Miltia ordered.
"Yes you should stay in a child's place" Melanie added.
All eyes went on Midori whose expression slowly went from concern to wrath, with a vein appearing on the side of her head. She started to glare at the two and took a step forward. "A child? So because I'm short, you think that gives you the right to speak to me as If I were a little kid? I think we should discuss this more outside." Midori said as she gave them a wicked smile with her eyes closed and pointed towards the top of the train.
"Uh oh. Chick-fight, grab the popcorn boys." Nolo teased which earned him a vexed glimpse from Regulus.
Estelle shook her head and was about to speak until Miyabi held her hand up stopping her. "No, let her fight. I want to see how far she's come." She said.
"Midori will crush them!" Krisis said as he had gotten off Midori's shoulder and climbed onto Regulus's shoulder.
A few moments later…
Everyone had made their way up to the top of the train. "Melanie, is she serious?" Miltia asked.
"I don't know Miltia, but we should teach her a lesson," Melanie responded.
"Hmph" Midori couldn't see any obvious weapons on her, though she knew not to think that meant she didn't have any.
Ready for a fight, Midori leaped off the roof, sending several small wind blasts down range towards the twins. They managed to dodge and weave between the shots with ease and charged toward Midori as she landed.
The two girls continued to evade her current. Midori focused on Melanie, as she appeared to be the closest. Midori kept on missing as the girl cartwheeled around her, until finally, she hit her metallic heel, sending her flying backward before she caught her footing.
Miltia, ran up behind her, hoping to land a blow while she was distracted. Midori blocked her blow with her bracelets, but her follow-up wind blast was dodged again.
Melanie landed behind her. Midori spun, managing to block the girl's razor-sharp kick with her bracelets again, and allowed herself to be sent backward by the force of the kick. Leaving both girls in front of her.
"Whew, Midori is certainly more than just cute." Dyna complimented.
"While we were traveling, Midori was pushing her body to the limit. Training to get stronger." Regulus explained.
"She's not losing this fight," Nolo declared.
She fired another wind blast, this one hit Melanie in the stomach and sent her flying and crashing to the ground, almost falling off the train.
Miltia ran forward, attacking Midori with several swipes of her claws. Melanie joined her, landing several kicks. Together, they put pressure on Midori with a seamless barrage of blows. Bladed heels and sharp claws scraped against Midori's aura, protecting her from serious damage, but not the pain their attacks would have caused. With one final synchronized kick from both girls, Midori was sent flying across the train roof. Landing hard on her shoulder.
Midori used her momentum to stand herself back up, teeth-gritting into a snarl, and fired her wind behind her, propelling herself forwards at a high velocity. Her hair blew in the wind.
With one punch, Melanie was launched backward, away from Miltia. Midori reared back for another blow while Miltia was stunned, concerned for her sister. She desperately tried to defend against Midori's onslaught of powerful punches and kicks.
A kick to her knee left Miltia stumbling. With her guard broken, Midori landed uppercut after uppercut, sending the girl into the air. One last punch launched Mitlia into the air and off the train.
Melanie slowly stood, recovered from her last attack. "MILTIA!" She called out in worry. Midori turned her attention onto her and fired several wind blasts at her. Melanie cartwheeled backward, narrowly avoiding the bursts.
Midori continued with a different tactic. She spun, bringing her leg up for a roundhouse kick. Melanie deflected the blow off her forearm and returned with a kick of her own. They continued trading blows, many of the attacks being kicks. Midori tried to break her opponent's focus with a Wind blast but to no avail. Midori continued blocking multiple kicks with her bracelets until Melanie finally landed a good blow on Midori, pushing her back.
Melanie charged ahead again, only for Midori to slowly retreat from her, keeping the girl in front of her while she did. Melanie tried many times to land a blow, only for Midori to have continued backing up, out of her range. Everyone followed them as they were slowly getting away from them. They moved until Melanie finally caught up with an ax kick, blocked by the bracelets once more.
Melanie wound up for another powerful kick, only for Midori to spin faster, landing an elbow on her midsection, knocking the breath out of her.
Midori grabbed her arm, yanking her forward then back, knocking her off balance further until finally, with a jump and a spin, Midori brought her foot down on the girl's face, knocking her to the floor. "Swallow Dance!" She exclaimed as the hit connected.
"You're gonna pay for this." Midori jumped back as the spider crew came over to pick up Melanie. The man who picked her up as she was unconscious glared at Midori "Let's get her!" He clamored as they all pulled out knives.
Midori wasted no time as she held both her hands back and focused wind energy in both her hands. The goons advanced toward her, but Midori launched a powerful blast that was big and powerful enough to hit them all and blow them off the train. The crew went flying and landed somewhere in the snow on the ground.
Once they were out of sight, Midori got out of her stance and took a deep breath, calming herself down. Nolorona laughed at what he had just witnessed "And just like that it's over! Goodbye, have a wonderful time." He mocked.
Regulus smiled as Krisis was clapping "Midori is the strongest, We can't even stand up to her." Krisis said.
"The way she laid that last one out was something else. She's going to grow to be an amazing Huntress. I'd love to team up with her." Dyna said.
Estelle looked into the distance where the crew had fallen off and shook her head. "I know you all enjoyed what you saw but we should get back on the train." Jarvin paused as he was already climbing back inside.
"Unless you wanna get hit by that wall." He finished as he was now fully inside. Everyone's eyes widened as they turned to see the train getting closer to a tunnel. They all panicked to the entrance that Jarvin took, rushing to get inside. Now that the threat was out of the way, the group awaited their arrival in Argus.
A/N: Thank you for your long support and messages and I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm getting married and it's taking up my time preparing but I'll be posting more now that I have some free time. I will post the new songs for characters when they're in battle so today will be Midori.
