AN: Drama is good but thought we need some fluffy grandpa time and Harry cuteness.

And answer a question Gaius (green phoenix) has remained in UK so Harry can summon him if needed.

Chapter 12 Lessons

Sirius was grateful for the phoenixes and elf. He had no way to confirm the house elf belonged to Albus but they knew. There was only one person with a need for him and the power. The wards on the house would stop any other attempts but they had to be cautious. He had wished Galrod was willing to train his son but he believed the elf when he said it was to protect Harry. As much as he hated Pollux he was big enough to admit the man could help his son and he needed it. Harry had promised not to apparate again and for now he knew his son was spooked enough not to. But Harry had always showed he was a little marauder since he was a baby. Remus smirked and said Harry was all him, James was no where his level. Walburga had agreed.

He put his son down for the night and for a moment was reluctant to leave. He knew the house was safe but he was shaken by his son having been taken from him. He was simply glad that Harry seemed to be fine.

It was a few hours later and Harry woke up sobbing. "No, no."

Orion's painting had been returned to the room. "It's okay prince you are safe."

Harry clutched at Zar. "No,try take. No."

Orion reminded him. "Your Papa and Granny will never let anyone take you."

Harry sobbed. "Papa,Papa."

The door opened and Sirius came in. "Cub."

Harry held up his arms. "Papa."

Sirius had been alerted as a spell was set so if Harry called for him he'd hear. He picked up his son. "Papa has you."

Harry buried his head against him. "Papa."

Sirius transformed the chair by the fire into a rocker and sat. He called Kreacher. "Bring a bottle of milk."

Kreachher returned with the bottle. "Here master."

Sirius got his son to take the bottle. "You're safe."

Harry relaxed in his arms as Sirius rocked him and he drank. Orion sighed. "Might be a rough night."

Sirius continued rocking Harry until he fell asleep when the bottle was done. "Papa is not leaving."

Harry remained asleep but Sirius could not put his son back to bed. He remained there rocking his son. Feeling the little boy against his chest brought him calm. He felt so bad that he had not realized his son was so shaken by the woods. Orion smiled as he watched his son and grandson sleep. He had loved and been proud of both his sons even if never good at showing it. He was happy his son and grandson were here. He wished he was alive to hold the baby but was happy his painting could at least watch. Some part of his essence truly there.

Harry woke a few times that night and there was very little sleep for his Papa. Remus came in at breakfast time to find them. He found not only father and son but to his shock Zar asleep in the chair. He never thought to see Sirius with a cat.

He looked at Orion. "How long?"

Orion could see the clock. "Harry woke him before midnight."

Remus bent to take Harry but Sirius stirred. "Moony."

He smiled."Let me take him."

Sirius was reluctant to hand over his son who was waking. "He had a rough night."

Remus sighed. "You both did. Let me take him for a bath and you go take one too."

Harry had come around. "Mooey."

Remus scooped him up. "Uncle Moony is going to take you for a bath while Papa gets dressed."

Sirius watched them go. "I should be."

Orion stopped him. "Go take a shower."

Sirius turned to his dad. "I know you left it to elves but….."

"He needs you so you need to take care of yourself. Having help is normal."

"James and Lil are gone. I am all he has." Sirius sighed.

"He has a whole house including the Uncle who is bathing him. Let them help."

Sirius was too tired to argue and went to take a shower. His room had a private bath while Harry's room now shared the hall one with Remus. He could admit his dad was right But he felt guilt as he was the only parent Harry had left. He had only had his son back two days and had him kidnapped one day. And now he could not even find the energy to bathe his son. But as he went and took a hot shower he was reminded Harry loved his godfather. He was not only safe but happy with him.

Harry was happy enough in the bath and having Uncle Moony get him ready. He liked Kreacher but he had missed having that contact. Popo had been the only elf when they went on the run and he was rarely hands on with Harry.

Sirius arrived in the kitchen before. "I should go….."

Walburga seemed to know and motioned. "Sit and eat."

Kreacher actually brought him coffee. "Master."

Sirius looked at the elf who only ever helped him for Harry. "I really must be sleep deprived."

Remus appeared with Harry."And there is Papa. And breakfast."

Harry reached for his Papa. "Papa."

Walburga stopped her son and transformed a chair next to Sirius into a high chair. "You can sit next to him and Uncle Moony."

Remus put Harry into the chair who happily turned to his yogurt. "Yummy."

Arcturus shot a look. "Eat up. Pollux is waiting for you."

Sirius wasn't sure. "It's been a day. And after last night….."

Walburga assured him. "It will be like playing."

"I doubt that Pollux has ever played even when he was a child."

Arcturus actually laughed."He did indeed though he seemed an old man even as children."

Harry looked. "You play with Grandpa P?"

"We are cousins. We grew up together." Arcturus told the boy.

Harry shook badly. "No cousin."

Walburga scooped him up. "You have cousins. I believe you may meet one today."

Harry was shaking. "No hit?"

Walburga understood as she went to take him. "No they will not hit."

Sirius was reluctant and he almost stopped his mother from taking Harry. He knew his son needed training but maybe it should wait. But Remus and Arcturus both stopped him. Harry would do better with some time. He would be okay with Pollux and it would be good for him. Sirius was reminded he was meant to meet Moody. He was going to take tests to get certified again as an auror. He and James had been fast tracked due to the war. He wasn't sure about street work but Moody thought he could teach at the auror academy instead.

Remus assured him. "Harry is fine. Go focus on your meeting with Moody and Harry will be back."

Walburga had taken Harry. Part of her had not been sure about this plan either. But it was as much about her son as Harry. Sirius had insisted on speaking to Moody today. Moody would never let him return so soon but he wanted to do the tests so he could when he was ready. Sirius was not one to sit still and thought he could do some good. His focus though was on his son for now. Walburga thought to take Harry as a way to distract them both. She was surprised she was not taking Harry to Malfoy manor where her dad lived. Even if only Lucius knew it could be hid but her father summoned her to the house on the coast.

Pollux was not alone. He was not happy about this but he had sworn to do it. He assumed spending time with the girl was not too much to ask of him. He marveled that a half-blood showed such elven traits. Harry's was explained by his Potter blood.

Andromeda led her nine year old towards the beach. "You will do this."

The child's hair was black. Unlike her mother's, it was because she was angry. "He hates me."

"He does not hate you. This is why he is going to teach you." Andromeda tried.

Tonks didn't buy it. "He has spoken twice to me in my life. I don't get why he cares now."

"He resents I married your father. But he can train you."

Tonks snorted. "I can control my powers. What can he teach me?"

Her mother stopped her. "You know there is a reason you could never go to muggle school."

Tonks had wanted to. "Because my hair is a mood ring."

Andromeda laughed. "I wouldn't use that word around him."

Tonks had heard from her father. "Why should I bite my tongue around him? He won't."

"Just speak in terms your aunt would understand nothing else. You know you confuse her."

Tonks liked her aunt and uncle. She knew them in secret during the war. "Fine."

Andromeda steered her. "This is as bad as taking you to a healer."

"I'd rather a healer."

Andromeda had been as shocked as her daughter when she got an owl from Pollux yesterday. He had not asked but ordered his granddaughter to bring her child here for training. She had planned to refuse but Lucius had come and spoken to her. He had revealed about Harry including him being a Black. Andromeda had yet to see her cousin but happy he was free. She reluctantly agreed for her daughter to have the lessons. Her contact with muggles had been limited to Ted's family due to her powers.

Pollux was waiting on the beach and was surprised to see both women come together. He knew they had arrived separately and he could see neither was quite certain. His intent though was on his two great-grandchildren. He had three but Draco showed none of the magic.

Tonks looked at her great aunt but her eyes went to the boy. "Who is he?"

Harry answered for himself. "Harry."

Walburga introduced him."He is your cousin Sirius' son. Harry this is Nymphadora and her mother Andromeda."

Tonks snarled. "Tonks."

Harry kept eyeing her. "Ton? Ani?"

Pollux motioned. "You remember I told you about Uncle Cygnus?"

Harry turned to him. "Cygy like kitty."

"This is his oldest daughter and granddaughter." Pollux told the little boy.

Harry noticed her hair changed to pink. "Pin? No bla?"

Tonks smiled. "I can change ."

Walburga motioned. "Why don't you show Harry the water."

Tonks took the little boy's hand when put down. "You should be happy. Grandpa has never let me come here before."

Andromeda glared at her grandfather when the two went off. "She hasn't."

Pollux didn't see any need to address it. "You can pick her up after lunch."

Walburga reminded her niece."It will be good for her."

Andromeda went to leave. "I swear she better be fine when I return. Grandfather or not."

Pollux looked at his daughter. "And you?"

"I'll be back for him." Was all she said before leaving.

She knew better then to warn him besides she knew he didn't need it. She spoke up to him when it was needed but it wasn't. The man may be cold but he cared for his family including Harry. He was even showing concern for Tonks even if only as Galrod wished it. He had sworn to his wife when she was dying he would train any who showed her powers. She was scared it would put them in danger. He had not bothered with the girl before as it wasn't all elf magic, there were humans with the power. But he knew he needed to.

He walked to see them both. "How do you like the water?"

Harry turned to him. "Pretty."

Tonks scowled. "Loved to see it sooner."

"Not even a teen and already sass." He grunted."You are here now."

Tonks frowned. "I still don't get why."

Harry noticed."Bla again."

Pollux agreed with his grandson."That."

"You anxious for me to attend muggle school?"

Harry broke in. "Why?"

Tonks sat. "My hair changes sometimes with my mood. Pink is when I am happy."

Harry smiled. "Like Pin. No bla."

Pollux summoned a chair and sat down. "You have a natural color I assume."

Tonks glowered and let hair go to a soft brown. Save the dove gray eyes, she mainly took after her dad. "There."

Pollux summoned a ball. "We should play a game."

Harry beamed when he was tossed the ball. "Play."

Tonks smiled at the little boy. "Pass it here."

At first Pollux let them play but he slowly added little tasks. He knew from his daughter that Harry could more then apparate. He had wandless magic which showed up when his emotions were running. One thing he learned with all of them when they were untrained their powers ran crazy when their emotions were all over. No matter what form their elven blood took. Irma had said it had something to do with the elf link to nature and being linked to their core. Today was about watching the two and seeing the extent of their magic. They were finishing lunch when Harry's grandmother and Andromeda returned.

Andromeda turned to him. "I am glad she is one piece."

He smirked. "I didn't poison her if you worry."

Tonks looked at them back and forth."I guess it wasn't bad."

Harry was in his grandmother's arms. "Fun me?"

Tonks smied."Yes I had fun with you."

Pollux simply said."You will see her in a week."

Wallburga took Harry to go. "Your Papa is waiting."

Tonks glared. "A week? I am not….."

"You will come back tomorrow." Pollux informed her.

"Tomorrow? How does he get a break?"

"You are older. The faster you learn the sooner you can be done."

Tonks stormed away. "Fine."

Andromeda looked at her grandfather. "Thank you."

He was surprised but nodded."You'll bring her here. Its time she sees the house that will be hers."

Andromeda stopped. "I thought this was for my Aunt. Cissy will get dad's manor."

"Irma would want it." Was all Pollux said.

Pollux had two homes left, after having given a home to Cygnus when he married. Normally all the houses would go to his heir but Pollux favored his daughter. Walburga would get the main home but he assumed both granddaughters should be given one. Sirius would get the main one through his mother. If Regulus had not died the main manor would have been his. If Alphard had not run off and been an artist he would have got this. He assumed Tonks having it was fitting. Two family rebels.

When he was alone he sighed. "I am going soft."

Sirius had finished the tests and passed them to no surprise. He may not have been Frank's level but there was a reason even in war he could be fast tracked. Moody had offered him a place at the auror academy as a teacher but not until fall. The defensive charms teacher was retiring that summer and would need replacing. Like school the academy had a summer break. Moody told Sirius he could help until then but not for three months and only in office. The man knew he needed time to recover and for his son. He gave Sirius no option so the man could not push. Sirius seemed to have grown and was relieved. He was happy with plans but he knew he needed time. He wasn't sure he would come back until fall. His son was all he wanted to focus on.

He was happy to get home and smiled when his son was happy to tell him about his fun. Harry had a second bad night though and Sirius slept with him again. The morning after the third night he was shocked his son did not wake him. He had found Remus to his shock asleep with Harry. It seems Remus had transferred the baby spell so that he was woken instead.

Sirius took his son to Potter manor to see Fleamont that afternoon. "Grandpa is waiting."

Harry eyed the house. "Grandpa P."

Sirius groaned. "Not today. We are seeing your proper grandfather. Fleamont."

Harry pouted. "Grandpa Fee bore. Grandpa P play. Ton too."

Sirius sighed. "I am glad you like Tonks. Her and her mom are coming for dinner tonight."

Harry smiled. "Play."

"Your grandfather is getting stronger. I am sure he will play soon."

Fleamont was actually in his garden when they came. "My boys."

Harry smiled a little."Grandpa no tire."

Fleamont smiled. "I have more energy. I thought a picnic would be nice."

Harry let himself be put on a blanket. He saw toys including a wood cat. "Kitty?"

Sirius was amazed. "I saw most of James' toys in his room."

Fleamont watched his grandson play with a toy cat. "He needs some here. Good practice for my magic to make them."

Harry held up the cat. "Make?"

Fleamont smiled. "I made your daddy's too. Both by hand and magic."

Sirius smiled and sat back watching Harry and Fleamont play. This was the grandpa relationship he wanted for his son. Though he as happy Harry had liked Pollux he didn't need his son becoming like the man. Fleamont had a traditional side but he was a born grandpa. He was the kind Sirius had wished he had growing up. Fleamont was a bit stiffer in old age and reminded him a bit of his dad but he could admit that wasn't too bad. He smiled at the reminder of Fleamont and his wood work. Toys and such he did with magic but more special pieces he did by hand. Harry had many of his dad's pieces before now including his former cradle.

Harry was actually sad to leave at the end as he had so much fun. But he smiled when told Tonks was coming for dinner. He had really liked her. Andromeda and Tonks were there already as was Ted. He was surprised to see Narcissa, though neither Malfoy.

He smiled at his cousins. "Romy."

Andromeda hugged him. "Glad you're free."

Tonks smiled. "Missed you."

Ted offered his hand. "We all have."

Harry beamed. "Ton."

Sirius smiled at his cousin's daughter as he shook Ted's hand. "You have made a fan."

Tonks took him. "Can I see your cats?"

Narcissa came over when the two went up stairs. "No hug for me?"

Sirius smirked but it softened. "Happy to see you on our side. And thankful for Luc's help."

Narcissa had never been as close but she loved her cousin. "Hopefully Draco can come next time. Closer in age."

Sirius sat. "I am surprised you ditched them for dinner."

She laughed. "Thought we were enough for now."

Narcissa had been happy like Andromeda to hear the news. She was not thrilled her husband had hid Harry's truth and the news. But Lucius and Draco had stayed home to let the Blacks reunite alone. Ted had come but he and Sirius were close and his daughter was now bonding with Harry. Arcturus was no where to be seen and seemed odd beyond Pollux he was the only missing. Sirius had to wonder if it was due to Tonks and her dad. His grandfather was not likely happy to see them here.

Ted smirked at that. "Oh I thought I was growing on him."

Arcturus answered as he came in from the hall. "Like a fungal hex. But it seems a family affair. At least the wolf is gone."

Sirius hadn't noticed till now. "You didn't run him off did you?"

The man growled. "He is…."

Walburga cut in. "I believe he mentioned a visit with Severus."

Andromeda liked the man and confirmed. "He passed me as he left. He thought to leave it as a family meal."

Ted whispered. "Something about appetite as well."

Sirius was reminded why he liked the man. "Maybe we should."

Walburga motioned to the table. "Dinner is ready."

Tonks appeared with Harry. "I am starving."

Arcturus shot her mother a look. "You can teach her manners."

Andromeda looked ready to spit fire but her husband calmed her. He had become a pro at navigating her family. Both he and Tonks were used to it and it had been harmless enough. Andromeda put up with her own grandfather but Arcturus was another matter. For the sake of her cousin and the reunion she held her tongue. She had her limits and wouldn't let her family be attacked but that was minor.

Sirius was big enough to say to Narcissa. "Maybe next week you can bring Draco. It might be good for them."

Sirius had been upset when he found Remus had changed the spell on him. He felt better having slept but his son needed him. Remus could help in the day but he felt guilty about the night time. He made sure to turn off the spell on Remus that night to make sure Harry had his Papa. Unfortunately he was tired and he forgot to turn the baby spell back on in his room.

When Harry woke up nearing midnight with another bad dream he tried calling Papa. When Papa didn't come he tired Mooey but no one come. He no find Zar either and he was terrified. Foey there but he no brave like Zar.

Orion tried calming him. "I am sure Zar went to eat. Papa is right next door."

Harry sobbed. "No go alone."

Orion sighed. "Its okay Papa will understand."

Harry crawled out of bed and headed into the hall. He not able open Papa's door." . Papa."

Terrified Harry look at stairs. He know Zar eat in den. He know Zar down there. He need Papa or Zar. He know not pop but Grandpa O say okay. He say find Papa. But no pop into Papa's room. He no able. Harry pop to den. He go find Zar. Kitty and Grandpa O keep monster away till Papa come. He need Zar. He need kitty.

He surprise when pop in room and light on. He think sleepy. But he find Grandpa reading by the fire. He see Zar and he almost take kitty and go. But he too scare to be alone. He no be bad. Grandpa O say.

Arcturus turned to him. "What are you doing out of bed?"

Harry shake. "Bad dream."

Arcturus reminded him. "You are not to pop. Papa is there."

"No Papa. No Mooey. I call." Harry sobbed.

Arcturus was confused and called Kreacher. "Where is his Papa and the wolf?"

Kreacher bowed. "Asleep."

"Why didn't they hear the boy? Or you?" He demanded.

"Master Sirius turn off spell it seem. He tell me only come if call."

Harry was trembling. "Come Zar."

Arcturus saw his cat. "Time to go back to bed."

Harry was sobbing. "Monsta."

Arcturus picked up the boy. "There are no monsters."

Harry clung to him. "Monsta."

Arcturus sunk into a chair in bewilderment and shock. He sent Kreacher for a bottle. He tried to get Harry to drink. "Here".

"Sunshy, sunshy."

Kreacher saw his confusion. "His lullaby."

"I don't know anything so muggle."

Harry eyed him."Grandpa Fee do."

"Well he isn't here."

Arcturus found himself remembering a song from his wife. She had been hands on even if he had not. It was an old Celtic song, not really a lullaby but she had used it as one. He had no idea if it would work but Harry calmed drinking his milk and slowly began to drift off in his arms. He didn't realize they were not alone until Walburga came in. He could see the confusion all over her face.

He explained. "He needed someone."

Walburga bent and scooped him up. "I'll take him to bed."

"Make sure that boy figures out a baby spell properly." He simply grunted.

Smiling she assured him. "I will. Good night father."

Back in Harry's room Orion was surprised to see her. "How?"

She explained as she put him to bed. She transformed the chair into a bed. "He should not be alone."

For the first time in days Harry didn't wake a second time. To say Sirius was shocked in the morning to find his mother was an under statement. He felt such guilt when he realized he had shut off Remus' spell but hadn't turned his back on. And that his wards kept Harry out. He was shocked but admittedly grateful at what both his mother and grandfather had done.

Walburga went to get dressed."You are here so he has the family. So stop fighting it. Last night need not happen."

AN: Bit longer but decided to let all three grumps have some quality Harry time.
