Sorry for the wait everyone but it's here at last, the next chapter of Total Drama. Let the games begin!
Who knows what may happen differently! (I know of course XD)
"Last time on total drama island." The voice of Chris narrated from somewhere. "We had the 24 campers arrive to the island including our special contestant from good old US. They learned the rules and what awaited them for the next 8 weeks. They were divided up into two teams and already enemies and friends were starting to form. After getting lunch and being introduced to our intimidating chef, Chef we sent them on their way towards their first challenge. DJ thought it would be easy since it was the first one but soon learned that easy does not exist in this show.
Multiple stage lights were being set up as several cameras emerged from every kind of hiding place imaginable. From a groundhog's burrow, an owl's nest, bushes, rooftops, rising from the ocean and more. A directors slateboard was then shown up close, being held by someone who clapped it.
The camera view then began to quickly move from a distanced view of the camp to into the grounds. Passing by Chris who was sitting down drinking coffee, the cabins where the teams were staying and moving through the woods.
Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine
You guys are on my mind
The camera view went all the way up the cliff before appearing to jump off like in the challenge. Plummeting as the view quickly dived down the middle of the safe zone and was now showing underwater. Owen was shown floating down there right before he propelled away with a large fart that knocked out a fish that had been behind him. It floated up where Geoff and Bridgette were shown looking into each other's eyes lovingly while floating on a surfboard together. The two cringed as the smell of Owens fart reached their noses before an eagle flew down and grabbed the knocked-out fish as it soared to the sky. The fish soon fell as the bird seemed to lose its grip on it or perhaps the smell made it discard it in disgust.
You asked me what I wanted to be and I think the answer is plain to see
I wanna be famous!
The view changed to down below where DJ was seen in the woods smiling with a bunch of cute and cuddly animals comprised of two birds, two squirrels, a chipmunk, a skunk, a bunny, a turtle and a frog who all smiled back. Until the fish landed in front of DJ and it seemed to startle the animals. Suddenly they all had angry expressions and lunged at him as they all bite into several parts of his body while the birds pecked his head. The poor boy ran away panicking and seemingly screaming. Duncan was shown nearby laughing while running away from Courtney who looked livid as she held a big stick that she wanted to whack him with.
The Jamaican kept running through the forest as he approached Ben who had been lying down with his head against a tree root relaxing in the shade. Dawn was hanging upside down in a branch above him with her legs bent as they held her up. The two were peacefully stealing glances at the other while a couple of birds peacefully chirped beside them. The two noticed DJ running by and stared with alarmed looks as he kept going in terror.
I wanna live close to the sun
Well, pack your bags 'cause I've already won
The view ran past some trees to show Leshawna and Heather were fighting on a raft as they slapped each other's hands without looking at one another. Too late they realized their raft ended up going down a waterfall. Down below Harold was shown practicing his so-called mad skills while standing over a cracked log. Izzy soon came crashing into him while swinging on a vine. The two ended up slamming face first into an out house and knocking Lindsay out of it while her skirt was down, exposing her pink panties.
The view zoomed into the window of the mess hall where a buff looking cheff was stirring a pot. Preparing god knows what with his bare hands before smiling almost evilly at those behind him. A tied-up Noah and Ezekial were shown shaking in fear over the 'dish' being prepared before showing Tyler nearby lifting weights indoors. He was having difficulty lifting what looked like 20-pound weights. Only to get startled when he suddenly found himself being lifted by his collar by Eva who had a superior smirk as she held him up with only one hand. She then dropped him which caused the poor boy to accidentally drop one of his weights on top of his foot. He screamed in pain and hopped on one foot as he held the other one up.
Everything to prove, nothing in my way
I'll get there one day
Cause I wanna be famous
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
The view went outside and revealed Sadie and Katie in bathing suits lying down on the sand on top of towels as they tanned. The two BFFF's were gazing at a shirtless Justin as he ran across the shore like a character from Baywatch, slow motion and everything. The scenery turned to the ocean showing a seagull with a six-pack soda ring around its neck staring into space. A salmon jumped out of the water behind it before it got eated by a shark, and a tentacle rose, grabbed and pulled the floating seagull below the water.
I wanna be
I wanna be
I wanna be famous
Beth was then seen on the dock of shame twirling a flaming baton for a bit before throwing it up in the air.
I wanna be
I wanna be
I wanna be famous
The baton continued to spin in the air before it suddenly became nighttime, and it fell back down out of sight. Gwen and Trent were seen smiling at each other as they sat next to each other by the campfire with Trent holding his guitar. The two leaned closer to each other but were stopped by Cody popping up between them before the camera zoomed out and showed the rest of the campers as well as Chris whistling by the campfire.
Chapter 3: Campers Rising and Falling part 2
"I regret my earlier words." DJ whimpered apologetically to Ben.
"Too late now." Ben stated the obvious while continuing to look straight down.
He wasn't the only one as the other campers did the same while all minus the braver ones feared the obvious fate that awaited them. That they would have to jump off the cliff. Which given how Chris asked them to change into their swimsuits was a very likely outcome. The guys were either barefoot or wore sandals and swim trunks of different colors. Green for Ben, red for Tyler, gray for DJ, black for Duncan, orange for Owen, brown for Trent, blue for Justin, dark blue with red floral patterns for Noah and blue and yellow for Cody. Ezekiel for some reason chose to keep his pants, socks, shoes and even his hat.
The girls were all in swimsuits and sandals, minus Lindsay who kept her boots and Dawn who was barefoot. Bridgette was in a navy-blue wet suit, Leshawna a grey one piece, Izzy with a green swim cap and Lindsay were wearing green and red strap bikinis respectively. Gwen, Heather, Katie and Sadie were all wearing black, brown and identical bring pink with pink spotted bandeau bikinis respectively. Courtney wore a grey sports bra top and shorts while Dawn wore a lavender swim dress and matching shorts. Beth also wore a pink swim dress that went just above her knees and weas red on the top and midriff. Eva wore a dark blue sports suit.
"Too late indeed." A giddy Chris joined in before turning to the campers. "Now then campers, your first challenge is three-fold. To win a point you must jump off this cliff and into the water below us. If you take a closer look, you'll see that there are two areas; a larger and smaller one in the center of it."
The campers looked to indeed see two circle zones below them. The second one being incredibly smaller where it barely looked any bigger than a round home pool.
"Piece of cake." Bridgette said confidently. She's jumped off high dives before and while this was certainly much higher than she's even done the principals were still the same. Just breath, focus, jump and fall with grace and she'll do fine.
The host continued "If you can manage to land in the smaller zone that'll count as two points each. Which I advise you all aim for if you want to avoid the sharks in the larger zone." he almost cackled the last part.
Suddenly everyone looked at him like he was crazy. "Excuse me!?" Leshawna questioned, hoping she misheard.
"You heard right campers, roaming the waters of the large zone below us are psychotic, man-eating sharks!" Chris chuckled at the description of the vicious predators waiting beneath them.
"You expect us to jump off this high cliff and into shark infested waters!" Ben questioned incredulously.
"Don't worry." Chris assured him. "We have Cheff standing by with a boat and speargun to come to your aid if you miss the safe zone."
"Sorry if I don't feel any better." Ben deadpanned.
"I hope he doesn't end up using it on those poor sharks." Dawn thought in concern for the animals.
"This can't be legal." Noah questioned the sanction of this challenge.
"Actually, it is since we tested it by having someone make the jump." Chris revealed earning looks from them.
"What happened to that person then, did they end up in a hospital?" Gwen questioned suspiciously
Chris scoffed. "No. He's perfectly fine even though he landed in the shark infested zone. So, since he made it out alright the rest of you can manage it as well. Now then for each of you who jumps… and survives." he said the last part playfully. "You will each receive a crate of supplies below which you will carry to your cabin for the second part of your challenge. Which will be to build your very own… HOT TUB! The team with the best built tub gets to use it for a wicked hot tub party tonight! The losing team however will be sending someone home tonight."
"Sweet!" Geoff cheered. He loved hot tub parties, really any kind of party in general.
"It would be a nice way to relax after this challenge." Courtney admitted with a smile.
"I am so going to enjoy the luxury while you losers watch us living it up." Heather sneered at the other team.
"Not finished yet people." Chris reminded as he brought the attention back to him. "IF someone refuses to take the jump, then they will be completely excluded from helping their teammates who did jump from building their hot tub. So, the more the better if you want to succeed." He paused to think for a second. "Killer Bass you can make the first jump."
Bridgette looked down at the cliff with a bit of nervousness after hearing about the sharks. As a surfer she knew the dangers they represented in the waters. She hesitantly looked to her teammates before asking "Anyone wanna go first."
Her response was absolute silence as no one stepped up, you could even hear a cricket chirping in the background. Dawn blinked before looking around for the insect. "Nice chirping Mr. Cricket." She complimented which caused the bug to stop it's playing before they heard two chirps in response which only she understood as "thank you".
"Oh great, she talks to bugs too as if she wasn't weird already." Heather muttered, at least weirdo wasn't on her team.
Tyler meanwhile found himself taking glances at Lindsay with clear attraction towards her. She was just so beautiful and was actually nice, sure she was a bit dim minded but then again, he wasn't a brainiac either. Plus, she looked great in her red swimsuit and her boots. He suddenly paused at that thought, her boots?
"Uh, excuse me Lindsay?" he called out getting the blondes attention.
"Yes?" She asked while trying and failing to remember his name. Heather noticed her talking with him and looked unhappy. She wanted to break up their conversation but didn't want to gather attention from everyone around them. Lindsay better hope she didn't say anything important to him otherwise she was going to pay.
"Why're you wearing your boots?" Tyler asked her.
The blonde bombshell tilted her head in confusion. "So I wouldn't walk barefoot?" she answered.
"Yeah but won't you ruin your boots if you jump into the water with them on?" He asked as he knew how some girls loved their footwear very dearly, heck his mom went shoe shopping plenty of times.
Lindsay blinked at his words before they finally seemed to sink in and her eyes widened in realization. "Oh my gosh your right!" she then proceeded to take them off. "Thanks umm…" she trailed of not knowing his name.
"Tyler." He finished for her not bothered.
"Thanks Tyler." Lindsay smiled at him in gratitude as he rubbed his head sheepishly. Now that she got a real good look at him, she thought he was quite cute.
"Ahem." Chris coughed in his fist. "Come on people I need a volunteer."
Bridgette meanwhile gathered her courage as she approached the edge of the cliff. "Alright I got this, it's just a high dive… into shark infested waters." She paused at that fact before shaking it off. "No problem." She then leaped off the cliff and fell with the grace of a skilled diver with her body facing straight down like an arrow. She fell into the safe zone practically dead center with a small splash before surfacing. "Whooo I did it!" she cheered excitedly as Cheff pulled the boat alongside her to haul her out for the others to follow.
"She totally nailed it." Tyler said enthusiastically as he felt the small fear vanish. "I'm next!" he declared while running back to get a head start before charging and jumping off the cliff. "Ohhhh yeaaaaaah!" he cheered on the way down.
(KLANG!)
And Bridgettte winced as she saw the poor athlete collide into the side of the buoy. The poor boy groaned in obvious pain before the buoy tilted sideways and he slid down into the water. At least he slid into the safe zone… and was still alive after that kind of collision.
Ben looked to Chris with a deadpan look. "Why did you even have those buoys there?"
Chris shrugged. "Needed something to tie down the safe zone circle in place." He then brought out a megaphone. "Hey Cheff, did he land in or out of the safe zone!?"
"Clumsy made it to safety but just barely!" The voice of Cheff roared back through his own megaphone.
"Ok then so that's another two-point earner." Chris noted down on his clip board.
More campers followed as they worked up the nerve to jump. Geoff cheered as if he were partying as he fell into the safe zone. Duncan fell with his arms crossed as if not bothered as he also splashed into the safe zone. Ezekiel had a small mishap as he hit a slope of the cliff which caused his to body rotate like a wheel as he crashed into the safe zone. His teammates gave him a cheer saying how his landing was cool with all those rotations.
"That's 3 more guys in the safe zone for 6 points for the Killer Base!" Chris excitedly wrote down before turning to those who remained. "Any of you other ladies got the guts to jump?" he teased challengingly.
Eva immediately stepped forward. "I was just going to let the guys finish first but whatever." She walked forward but then felt a hand grab her shoulder. She turned to see it was Dawn.
"Would you mind if I went next, please?"
Eva raised a brow and thought about telling her off but changed her mind since the girl did ask politely. "Fine." She turned to everyone remaining and raised a fist. "Anybody else wanna cut in front of me!"
Immediately they all shook their heads not wanting to earn her wrath.
Dawn walked up to the ledge and jumped right away. Everyone went to see her falling but then noticed something strange. She wasn't the only one as the campers below did so as well.
"Wait a minute…" Gwen paused as she saw the sight.
"Is she… meditating?" Bridgette questioned incredulously.
Indeed, she was. The nature girl had taken a lotus position and even closed her eyes as she fell. She looked completely at ease as she fell without a care in the world. If they didn't know any better, they could also swear that she was falling a bit more slowly than normal. She soon came splashing into the shark zone much to everyone's horror.
"Ahhh she fell in the danger zone!" Tyler screamed in panic.
"The sharks will eat her alive!" Geoff wailed.
Dawn rose from the depths as her head popped out of the water.
"DAWN! WATCH OUT BEHIND YOU!" Ben yelled out through Chris's megaphone.
The petite blonde turned around to see the fins of three sharks closing in on her. Their heads surfaced as they showed their razor-sharp tooth filled grins to her. The girl didn't react as she just stared at them, the sharks paused as they got confused looks. The three sea predators kept staring into Dawns unblinking, unwavering eyes and suddenly felt very uncomfortable. They suddenly backed away a little before growling at each other in communication.
(She's not scared of us at all!)
(She's weird, she's weird!)
(My mother always said to never eat what isn't afraid of you, swim away!)
The three sharks then dived under water and put distance between them and the weird girl. Everyone else had gob smacked expressions at what they just saw. Their jaws practically hitting the ground as they silently watched the girl casually swim towards the boat since Chef was too frozen in disbelief to drive it to her.
Confessional
"Did I just see sharks get scared of her!?" Bridgette questioned incredulously. "I've heard of sharks running away from bigger sharks and orcas but never this."
(Static)
"Ok it's official, white girl is unusual. She even freaks out sharks! How does that happen?" Leshawna stated in disbelief.
(Static)
"I'm starting to think she's either a witch, a psychic, an alien or something else." Ben remarked suspiciously.
(Static)
"The girl must have nerves of steel to stare down three sharks unbothered." Eva paused before smirking. "I like that."
(Static)
"I don't know whether to call that brave, stupid or just plain strange?" A wide-eyed Noah spoke in uncertainty as he found no logical explanation for what he just saw occur.
(Static)
"Those sharks don't scare easily." Chris insisted with a frown and arms crossed. "But man, that girl is just one unexpected surprise after another…" he then got a mischief smirk. "and I'm loving it!"
Dawn walked onto the shore as she joined the rest of her teammates who continued to stare.
"What did you do to those sharks?" Bridgette asked after finding her voice.
"I just showed no fear as I looked at their aura's and saw they love to attack people that show any trace of it." Dawn explained as if no big deal. "Once they saw no hint of fear from me they lost all interest in attacking."
"Huh." Geoff hummed at that. "I guess that's why they say you should never turn your back on a predator."
"I don't think that applies to all of them though." Duncan remarked in uncertainty.
Meanwhile as promised Eva was the next one to jump down. During the fall however her hand got scrapped against the same slope Ezekiel had hit. She ended up falling in the shark infested zone and blood leaked from the cut on her hand.
"Oh boy we got another one in the shark zone." Cheff observed as he turned his boat around to reach her.
Too late however as the three sharks came back and headed straight for Eva. Drawn in by the smell of blood from the slight cut on her hand when she hit the slope. They all had wild toothy grins on their faces.
"Oh no you don't!" Cheff said as he pulled closer before reaching for his spear gun… only for his hand to grab air. "What the!?" he turned to where his spear gun had been set down only to find it missing. "My spear guns gone!"
The other campers at shore who heard this minus Dawn got startled as this meant Eva was now without protection. One of the sharks swam up close first as it leaped out of the water to descent with its mouth fully open. Eva however showed she did not appreciate it's attempts as she delivered a vicious uppercut to the shark's lower jaw. The force was so strong it snapped its mouth shut, caused some teeth to fall out and made its body flip backwards and away from her. The poor animal came crashing back into the water. It's body floating to the surface now belly up with its tongue hanging out and looking dead if it wasn't for the signs of breathing from its belly rising and falling slightly.
"No one makes a protein meal out of me!" Eva declared angrily to the other sharks.
The two remaining sharks stood frozen as they looked to her and then their comatose comrade before turning back to the athlete. Eva gave the two a mean glare and even growled in a way that sounded like an animal. The two sharks gave girl like shrieks before quickly swimming away and hid behind the cliff where they cowered while glimpsing at her.
Confessional
"Ok, now that one I can understand but dang how strong is she?" Leshawna told the camera with wide eyes. "I mean that shark had to weight more than a ton, but she knocked it back as if she punched a volleyball."
(Static)
"Well that pretty much now confirms that we shouldn't anger Eva." Courtney stated a bit fearfully. "She's viable to kill us if we so much as tick her off."
(Static)
"I got no problem admitting Eva's definitely stronger than me." A frowning Duncan said with arms crossed. "But it's not like I'm scared of her or anything." He denied while a slight shaking of his left leg spoke otherwise.
(Static)
"Man! That was insane!" Chris chuckled. "She's like superhuman strong!"
Eva was brough onto shore by Cheff as she stepped on the land.
"Hey, did anyone see my speargun!?" Cheff asked the campers wondering where the heck it went. He knows he had it on the boat with him so where did it go. He looked at Duncan suspiciously at first only to remember that he didn't have it on him when he dropped him off. Still, that doesn't mean he couldn't have done something with it. "What about you!?"
"What about me?" Duncan repeated knowing what Cheff was suspecting.
"Did you touch my spear gun!?" Cheff shouted in his face.
"No, why would I?" Duncan questioned back. Although the idea did appeal to him, he knew he couldn't successfully steal it without Cheff noticing.
"It was me." Dawn suddenly confessed with a raised hand, earning everyone's attention.
Cheff especially looked at the girl unhappily. "It was you! What did you do with my speargun!?" he demanded.
"I hide it in the compartment below." Dawn answered.
"You what! Why'd you do that!? Eva could've been…" Cheff paused as a deadpan look surfaced after remembering what he saw before returning it to anger. "Okay maybe not her but someone else could've been shark food!"
"It's wrong to kill natures animals." Dawn firmly spoke her beliefs.
"You got a good backbone." Eva said in a rare moment of complimenting.
Bridgette gave her fellow blonde a small smile of surprise. "Wow you're really committed to your beliefs."
Dawn turned and gave a smile of appreciation in return. "Thank you, it's nice to hear that from a fellow animal lover and vegetarian such as yourself."
Bridgette blinked as she got unnerved. "Uh yeah… how do you know that?"
"It's all over your aura, which is a very lovely shade of yellow that matches your hair. Which also shows how you can't hold a grudge for more than six minutes because you're such a good person." Dawn said the last past with a tone of respect and even admiration which didn't prevent the surfer from feeling more creeped out as she backed away slowly.
"It feels weirder and weirder every time she does that." Tyler whispered to Geoff who could only nod in agreement.
Meanwhile back on top of the cliff DJ was next as he stood looking down.
"Nuh uh, no way man. I'm not jumping." The tall Jamaican told the host while leaning away from the cliff.
"Scared of heights?" Chris guessed and earned a nod in return. "That's ok big guy." He then approached him and put his hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to jump if you don't want to." DJ smiled which would soon vanish with the hosts next words. "Unfortunately, that now makes you a chicken." He then took out a hat shaped like said animal and put it on the giant's head. "And thus, you must now wear this for the rest of the challenge."
"Ah man, for real?" DJ whined as he looked at his new hat, it felt degrading.
"Yes, because the hat provides new incentive, not to just to not wear it but also so that I don't go bawk bawk bawk at them as well." Chris clucked at the giant before pointing him to descending escalators which he took. The other campers wondered why those were there and more importantly why wasn't there one for climbing up?
"Well, I'm not jumping without Kadie!" Sadie protested suddenly as she held her friend's hands.
"We have to be on the same team Chris!" Katie agreed before the two suddenly approached him and started to beg. "Please put us on the same team! Please Chris! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please!" the two repeated while pleading.
"I can't move either of you to the other team cause then the numbers will be uneven!" Chris objected sternly.
"I'll switch places with Katie." Izzy offered while raising her hand.
Chris scowled a bit then relented. "Alright fine!" he agreed just to make them stop. "Izzy you're on the Gophers and Katie you're on the Bass, now stop pestering me!"
"Yay!" The two girls cheered before they both hugged Izzy. "Thank you, Izzy!" they expressed their thanks.
The red head gave a smile. "It was no trouble."
"Now we're together!" the two cheered again before they ran and jumped off the cliff together while shouting. "BFFF!"
Chris raised an eyebrow at the double jump before walking closer to see them fall right into the safe zone together. "And that's a double safe landing for the Killer Bass, giving them four more points." He wrote down.
Harold was next to volunteer as he jumped without fear all while cheering as he fell. Unfortunately, however he made the terrible mistake of falling while doing a split.
SPLASH!
And then everyone heard the loud screams of the boy in pain. All the guys even some of the girls winced at the sight of him landing crotch first into the water. The boy's body still floating just over the water before gravity seemed to return and he sank. Even the sharks still hiding behind the corner winced at the sight as several birds flew away, scared off by the loud noise. Cheff came to his aid as he fished him out of the water and dropped him in the boat.
"That was a stupid maneuver boy." He told the still suffering nerd who held his aching manhood.
Back with Chris he was chuckling while trying to not laugh too much. "Ooouuuuuuuch, hate to see that happen." He then turned to the cameraman. "Did we get a good close up of that disaster?" an unseen thumbs up answered.
"Excuse me Chris." Courtney spoke up gaining his attention as she stood next to him by the cliff. "I have a medical condition.
"What condition?" Chris asked with a raised brow. He didn't recall seeing or reading about her having a medical condition. People with certain conditions weren't even supposed to be on his show. He didn't need them accidentally dropping dead from lack of medication or something. That's a terrible lawsuit waiting to happen.
"A condition that prevents me from jumping off a cliff." Courtney stated in a clear tone of how she wasn't going to do it.
"You can chicken out if you want." Chris unopposed before smirking and producing another chicken hat. "However, if you do, you'll be wearing this hat, risking your team's chances and then they'll probably hate you for it if they lose."
"It's a calculated risk." Courtney confidently told him before looking at the opposing team. "I've seen the other team and I don't think they can beat our score." Her words gained her a small glare from most of the opposition.
The host shrugged. "Suit yourself." He said right before putting the chicken hat on her and sending her to the stairs. "And that's a wrap for the Killer Bass team! With 2 chickens, 8 bullseyes and 2 shark landers that gives them a total of 18 points. A good score to try and beat for the other team" he declared before turning to the others. "You're up Screaming Gophers, if you can beat that then you'll be getting pull carts to help move your boxes more easily."
Trent smiled at the prize for the winner. "Cool, so who wants to go down the cliff first?"
Ben stepped forward. "Well, no time like the present as they say." He leaned over as he looked down at the safe zone, trying to get an idea of how he would need to descend to land in it. Once he got an idea, he felt comfortable with he jumped off while shouting "Baaaanzaaaaai!"
The former hero fell with his arms pressed down against his sides as he fell. As he did so, he felt a breeze of wind and noticed that he was a bit off course to the right. So, he quickly extended his left arm and had his palm facing down as he used wind resistance to adjust his direction a bit. The action worked as he fixed his trajectory and landed right in the safe zone. When he surfaced, he gave a small laugh of triumph as he saw the boat approach.
Chef nodded. "Smart move using your arm as a makeshift wing to correct your trajectory." He commended him for his smart play. That's just the kind of quick thinking you need to make it in this game, soldier."
"Thanks." Ben came on board the boat.
Back on top Heather looked down once more and quickly stepped away. "Sorry." she spoke up after a moment of silence as she crossed her arms. "There's no way I'm doing it."
"Why not?" Beth asked wondering if the Asian girl had a fear.
"Hello! National TV!" Heather stated as if it were obvious. "I'll get my hair wet."
Gwen looked at the girl with a look of disbelief. "You're kidding right? You already got your hair wet when you fell of the dock." The goth reminded her and got a slight glare for it.
"And that was bad enough the first time. No way I'm ruining my hair a second time after I just fixed it." Heather rebuked.
"If she's not doing it then neither am I." Lindsay told the others as she stood with Heather and they smirked together.
Leshawna however wasn't going to have any of this as she got in Heather's face menacingly. "Oh, you're doing it."
Heather glared back at the shorter girl. "Says who?" she questioned in a challenging tone.
The sassy girl pointed at herself. "Says me, I'm not losing this challenge just cuz you don't like your hair wet. You got that you spoiled little daddy's girl."
"Back of you ghetto glamour, too tight pants wearing, rap star wannabe." Heather shot back as the other campers stepped back from the two as things were getting intense.
"Mall shopping, ponytail wearing, teen girl reading, peeking in high school prom queen!" Leshawna fired back as Chris was the only one enjoying this cat fight and wished he had some popcorn.
Heather was quite for a moment with a frown before she suddenly smirked. "Well at least I'm popular unlike you."
"Oooooooooh." Chris thought excitedly knowing Leshawna wasn't going to take that lying down. He wasn't the only one as Gwen, Cody, Trent and Noah were also expecting a bad response after this.
"Your jumping!" Leshawna shouted in Heathers face.
The Asian girl got right up to the girls face as their foreheads were now clashing. "Make me!"
Suddenly Leshawna got an evil grin and glint in her eyes. Too late did Heather realize her poor choice of words as the girl grabbed the skinnier girl and lifted her over her head while advancing. She then threw the aggravating girl straight down. Heather screamed every second of the way before she came crashing into the safe zone. Her head popped out from below and she coughed out some water she almost swallowed.
"I'm so getting you back for this!" Heather shouted up angrily.
"At least I threw you in the safe zone!" Lashawna's voice rang out through Chris's megaphone.
"That was hilarious!" Chris laughed while clapping before raising his clip board to write. "Ok so that's zero points from Heather, not a good follow up for your team."
"Wait what!?" Leshawna turned to the host. "What you talking about Chris, she landed in the safe zone?"
Chris nodded. "True but because you threw her down yourself instead of her doing it voluntarily it doesn't count for any points. After all, if forced participation counted then things would be easier for you people and I don't want easy on my show unless I allow it." He then smirked. "But I still give you props for tossing Heather, up top!" he raised his hand for a high five which she returned with a little less enthusiasm.
"Well, I guess I should go next." Leshawna told her team before jumping as well. Also screaming on the way down she managed to land on the safe zone, scoring her team two more points.
Lindsay was pushed forward as her team urged her to jump. She nervously stood by the cliff looking at Chris. "I thought this was supposed to be a talent contest?"
"Why is she saying that now?" The remaining campers thought.
"Hahahahaha yeah…" Chris paused after laughing sarcastically and gained a serious look. "No."
Lindsay then jumped and like the others, screaming as she rapidly descended into the safe zone. Cody was next as he screamed and flailed in the air before hitting the safe zone too. Gwen went next also screaming but with her eyes closed to try and reduce her fear (which didn't work) as she hit the safe zone. Trent followed soon after with excitement as he fell in the safe zone as well. Izzy jumped with enthusiasm and cackled on the way down to the safe zone. Noah went after her and tried to put a brave face as he withheld his screams, also hitting the safe zone.
"And things are looking up for the Screaming Gophers as six more land in the safe zone, giving them twelve more points." Chris declared excitedly as the competition heated up. "Who's next?"
Beth stepped up and looked at the steep dive she would take. One glance down and what little courage she had built up vanished. "I-I can't do it." She told the host dejectedly. Taking her forfeit immediately he placed the chicken hat on her. "Sorry!" she called out to her teammates below.
"It helps if you use this, remember." The host offered his megaphone.
"Oh right." The glasses girl felt like slapping her forehead before grabbing and speaking into it. "Sorry guys!"
Heather frowned in displeasure at Beth chickening out. Leshawna and Cody clucked like chickens while flapping their arms to tease her. The other teammates looked on with some disappointment but held out hope.
Only Owen and Justin were left as the super model like contestant chose to go next. He jumped down with grace and without fear as he ended up in the danger zone. The two sharks from before came after him after finally getting over their fear of Eva. However, once the handsome boy turned to look at them with his sparkling smile, that changed. The two predators got lovestruck expressions before they proceeded to give the boy a ride to shore.
"Well, you don't see that every day." Ben remarked at the unnatural behavior the sharks have showed.
"Okay Screaming Gophers!" the megaphoned voice of Chris called out as everyone turned their attention to the cliff. "The current score stands with the Killer Bass at 18 and Screaming Gophers at 17." He then looked the sole remaining camper. "Owen is the only one left who hasn't taken his turn. In order to gain the win, he must not only jump but also land in the safe zone for 2 points. If he lands in the shark zone the scores will be tied 18 all and both teams win a pull carts each." He lowered his megaphone. "No pressure dude." Owen relaxed a bit at those words before they quickly fell at the next words. "Except that your team is counting on you to win it, so yeah there's big pressure!"
The Screaming Gophers down below were all cheering for Owen, with all of them chanting "Jump, jump jump, jump!"
"You got this Owen!" Trent called from the megaphone belonging to Cheff.
Leshawna took it next. "It's all on you big guy, you can do this!"
Duncan turned to Courtney with a small smirk. "Looks like your plan isn't panning out so well."
The girl turned to the punk with a frown. "He can still chicken out or at least miss and end in a draw."
Owen gulped a bit before putting on a brave face. He walked back and strapped on some floaties he had brough along around his arms. Then did some small stretches to try and ready himself mentally.
Confessional
"Yeah I was pretty darn nervous." Owen back in his clothes told the camera while holding his stomach. "See the thing is that I'm not a very strong swimmer. Most of the time I get in the water… I sink."
(Static)
"Given his body's weight, the height he'll jump from and at the speed he'll fall." A calculating Noah processed. "I wouldn't be surprised if ends up crashing to the bottom of the sea floor."
(Static)
"I'm actually thinking that if he jumps… he might very likely die." Gwen told with lack of confidence for her teammate.
(Static)
"I wonder how big a splash he'll make when he jumps?" A grinning Izzy wondered.
Owen was walking backwards to get some distance for a running start. "I'm going to die now. I'm going to freaking die now." He said with wide eyes almost as if resigning himself to doom.
"Oh, I don't know about that." Chris offered. "You might only get a concussion, some broken bones, deep cuts or who knows what else." He shrugged "It all depends on you, so give it your best effort."
Owen ignored the hosts words and closed his eyes while clenching his fists. Building up the will to make the jump. Silence transpired as the host and campers awaited with anticipation. Finally, Owen's eyes snapped open before he gave what seemed like a battle cry and ran forward and jumped right off the very edge of the cliff.
"OOOOOOOHHH CRAAAAAAAAAAP! WAAAAAAAH" he screamed as he plummeted down.
SPLAAAAAAAASHHH!
The moment his body hit the water it was like a naval mine went off. The explosion of water was so huge it reached more than halve way up the cliff. A huge wave was also made as it shared over the shore. Cheff's boat got caught in it and ended up far inland on the sandy shore. The campers on the other hand were all rising off the ground completely soaked once again, even the sharks were now beached.
"Man, that was awesome!" Chris laughed from the safety of the cliff before scratching his chin. "Although I couldn't tell where he landed due to the explosive splash." He turned to his camera man. "Get me a play back in slow motion."
The footage began to rewind back to when Owen jumped from the cliff. The video then began going in slow motion as it showed him falling from halve way down. Ever slowly it showed him making his descent before it revealed that his body crashed into the safe zone circle. His weight causing it to sink from sight as the large splash occurred.
"Rewind that to when he was just about to hit the water." Chris voice called out.
Again, the image played back a bit and froze on the image of Owen inches from the water. It played again in super slow motion this time as it showed Owen hitting the circle from his upper chest while the rest of his lower body hit the safe zone. The image returned to show Chris with a thoughtful expression.
"Well… he mostly landed in the safe zone, meh I'm gonna count it." Chris mumbled after thinking it over and took out his megaphone. "And it's all over! The Screaming Gophers win!" he declared earning cheers from said team.
"Yeah baby!" Owen hollered.
"That's what I'm talking about!" Leshawna cheered.
"You the man Owen!" Trent called out only to gain a puzzled look when he saw Owen gain a slightly horrified look and started looking around. "What's wrong man?"
"I lost my swim trunks." Owen revealed earning quite a few disgusted looks from the others.
"No, they're right here." Everyone turned at the sound of Dawns voice as they saw the missing trunks in her hand. "Here you go Owen." She called out before wrapping the trunks around a stone and then throwing it to him.
"Thank you." Owen called in relief as he caught them and redressed himself.
"How is she not wet?" Everyone else thought when they saw she was still dry after that wave washed over them.
With the Screaming Gophers win they were awarded all the pull carts which they put to good use. Lindsay and Noah were pulling one crate full cart, the blonde wearing her boots again after getting Chris to drop them to her. Owen pulled one by himself, Beth pulled the third on her own while Izzy and Ben were pulling on the fourth together. The team was singing 50 bottles of pop on the wall in celebration of their victory.
"We've so got this in the bag. Those losers will have trouble just trying to catch up to us." Heather declared confidently
"We're gonna be partying tonight!" Tyler cheered.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves, the challenge isn't over just yet." Ben reminded them, not wanting his team getting overconfident just because they were in the lead for now. His eyes drifted to Izzy who he noticed was staring at him and given their proximity it was kind of invasive. "Why're you staring at me like that Izzy?"
"You have nice green eyes." Izzy stated in a matter-of-fact tone as she looked into them. "They're like two emeralds sparkling in the sun."
Ben blinked and blushed a bit from her words while leaning back. "Um… thanks? However, to his discomfort however Izzy leaned closer and then to his confusion she sniffed him.
"Question. Why do you smell like chili, fries and… grapes?" The red head asked earning wide eyes from Ben and looks from everyone else on their team.
Over with the Killer Bass they were having a worse time as they struggled to push their heavy crates towards the cabins. Duncan was kick pushing his forward, Katie and Sadie were pushing theirs step by step, Geoff was pulling his on a rope while Ezekiel pushed from the back and Bridgette was trying to push hers alongside Harold but wasn't making much progress.
"We're not moving." Bridgette stated before looking to her helper. "Are you pushing with all you got?"
"Of course, gosh!" he replied as if offended. Before Bridgette could speak further, Eva stepped towards them.
"Tch amateurs." She then proceeded to lift the crate over her head and walk away without showing any discomfort.
"Tyler!" Courtney called out to the jock who turned to her. "You consider yourself an athlete so show some muscle!"
The jock quickly gave a salute before going to Geoff's create and lifting it with some difficulty. The party lover quickly got underneath to help lift it up as well.
"We wouldn't be having this trouble if princess here had just jumped." Duncan remarked while casting a glance at the girl along the other chicken of their team DJ beside her.
"It was a risk I thought was worth taking." Courtney tried to defend herself.
"Oh please, you were just too chicken to jump." Eva retorted without looking back.
Courtney pointed accusingly at Eva. "Hey! I'm the one with C.I.T camping experience here, you guys need me!"
Bridgette blinked while looking around. "Hey anyone see where Dawn went?" Everyone paused as they looked around for their missing teammate but didn't find her.
Meanwhile back at the beach shore where they had all been gathered before, Dawn was busy pushing something on her own. It was the shark that Eva knocked out, which had also been beached by Owen's big splash. The other two sharks had gotten back in the water by flopping themselves to it. She finally managed to push the animal into deep enough water for her to flip him right side up. The sea predator woke up almost instantly and began trashing its tail when it saw it was in too shallow waters. It slowly moved forward when it felt someone's hand help push him in. Soon it reached deep enough waters for it to swim through without trouble. It turned to see who had helped and saw the little weird blonde girl from before.
"There you go, now your back where you belong." Dawn smiled as she told the predator who blinked and looked at her curiously. She then gave a small wave. "I wish I could stay and talk more but I have to go now, take care." She then left to return to her teammates, knowing they'd be wondering where she was. If she had looked back, she would've seen the shark waving a flipper at her in slight gratitude.
"Where were you!?" Courtney questioned Dawn a little angrily for her disappearance.
Currently both teams were now at the cabins trying to build their hot tubs. As expected, the Screaming Gophers had a head start due to arriving first with their carts. Currently they were both in the process of trying to figure out how to properly build it. Since there weren't any instructions to help them, they had to think carefully.
"I was taking care of something at the shore." Dawn answered vaguely. "What happened to your eye?" she asked in small concern at seeing how red and swollen it looked.
The C.I.T covered her wounded eye with one hand. "It's nothing, just a small bug bite."
At hearing that Dawn got a suspicious look. "What kind of bug? There are some insects that can be harmful to humans. Some of them could even be deadly due to the toxins they produce."
Suddenly Courtney got a scared look at hearing this. "It was a giant looking fly that was black."
At that Dawn lost some concern and was replaced with ease. "Oh, then that was a black fly. Its bite isn't deadly, but it does leave quite a large mark if not treated." Courtney got relieved to hear that. "Wait here for a bit I'll be back." She then disappeared into the nearby woods. Eventually she came back holding a large leaf, a vine and a flower in her hands.
"What're those for?" Courtney questioned.
"To help you." Dawn said as if it was obvious before she looked at the flower regretfully. "Sorry about this little one." She told the plant before extracting its petals and placing them on the leaf. Without waiting for permission, she placed it over the C.I.T's swollen eye and used the vine to secure it in place. "There you go, it'll help with the swelling and discomfort."
"Uh thanks." Courtney said appreciatively.
"Nice eye patch princess, you planning to sail the seas on the boat of losers with it." Duncan teased earning a single eye glare from her in return.
"Why don't you get a piercing for your mouth, so I don't have to hear your voice." The C.I.T shot back.
"Where's Katie and Sadie?" Dawn asked after noticing the two were nowhere to be seen.
"Those girls are trying to treat themselves after accidentally getting exposed to some poison ivy." Bridgette answered.
Harold snickered before nudging Ezekiel as he whispered. "Yeah, by drinking with their butts." The two guys laughed lightly at that.
"Alright that's it!" Courtney spoke up as she stood firm. "We'll never get anywhere like this, we need a project manager to help organize ourselves if we want to win this challenge!" she then pointed to the surfer. "You go find and bring those two back, we'll need every hand we can get."
"Who died and made you queen?" Duncan questioned.
"Well I can't help directly cause of this dumb hat." She pointed to her ugly head ornament. "But I can at least help direct and organize the team. As the only one with C.I.T training, I'm clearly the most qualified to lead." She then gave the punk a challenging look. "Unless you think you're better qualified?"
For a moment Duncan thought about challenging her for leadership. However, then he remembered how much responsibility being the leader would require. The number of plans you'd have to come up with to try and help the team during every challenge. Making sure they all worked together, breaking up any fights, trying to be the peacekeeper between everyone. Considering Eva was on their team that already sounded like a health hazard. No thanks, as much as he liked the idea of bossing everyone, he didn't want all that responsibility.
"Thanks, but no thanks cyclops." The punk rejected with arms crossed.
"Alright then let's get to work!" Courtney shouted with a fist to the sky.
The C.I.T's words filled with determination; too bad it didn't produce the wanted results. The Screaming Gophers worked together quite well to properly build their hot tub. Ben and Izzy worked on construction by hammering the nails into the wood. Leshawna and Owen helped lift and hold the wood in place for the two to hammer the nails into. Gwen, Trent, Justin, Lindsay and Cody came and went scooping up buckets of water to fill the tub. Noah helped by using his intellect to determine how their materials should be properly arranged to prevent any leaks.
The Killer Bass weren't so united. Some fought for possession of their tools, Eva unintentionally broke one of their wooden boards, Bridgette unknowingly had a repeat of hitting one of the guys with a wooden board and Katie and Sadie kept stopping to scratch their still itching behinds.
The results came as both teams stood by their completed hot tubs. The Screaming Gophers tub was built practically to perfection as it was well rounded, firmly held together, had its motor working and looked welcoming to use. The Killer Bass's tub however looked like something from a first grader's arts and crafts class. The tub's wooden boards weren't aligned properly, the bottom was leaking, it was being held together with duct tape and the motor wasn't even properly attached. Plus, for some reason that same bird with the six pack soda rings around its neck was floating in their tub which made it look that much more uninviting.
It was time for Chris to evaluate and chose the winner. He started with the Screaming Gophers hot tub. Looking over the smooth design and working heat motor. He tapped the wood to test how securely sturdy it was held together, following that up by raising a finger and dunking it into the hot bubbling water. After a moment of feeling the waters temperature he gave the team a thumbs up and satisfied grin. "This is an awesome hot tub."
The Screaming Gophers cheered before Owen came bursting out of the hot tub, joining them in their excitement.
Ben blinked at the occupant. "Why were you hiding in there?"
"I was testing it out to see if it was too hot." Owen answered.
Chris then proceeded to walk towards the other hot tub. His eyes narrowed leery just form the sight of it. He knelt to tap the side and immediately a leak began spraying him in the face. The host immediately backed away from it just in time to hear the sound of wood groaning before the thing broke apart. Water spilling everywhere as the plastic covered bird flowed with the current.
Dawn walked up and grabbed the poor bird. "Oh dear, you must be so inhibited by this thing around your neck." She then carefully pulled on the edges, making sure she didn't choke the animal. The plastic began to stretch out a bit before she managed enough to gently pull it up and off the bird's neck. The avian did nothing at first as it kept its dumb blank look on its face. Then it blinked as its eyes seemed to fill with new life and it developed a new look of awareness. It then gave off a few of its squawks while flapping its wings slightly and turning to Dawn.
"Huoh-huoh-huoh!" (Translation: I can breathe again! I can think again! I'M FREE!)
The bird then flew away without hesitation as Dawn released it and waved goodbye at it.
Chris stared at the strange girl for a moment before getting his usual smile again. "Well folks just like that bird, I'm proud to say the Screaming Gophers have soared to victory!" he declared gaining cheers of satisfaction from said team while the Killer Bass looked down in silent defeat. "You've all safe from elimination and can use this hot tub for the rest of the summer." He pointed at the camera and viewers watching. "Bonus!"
"Yeah baby, we're gonna party tonight!" Leshawna cheered.
"We get to stay here another three days!" Lindsay cheered as she, Heather and Beth shrieked and hugged one another. Everyone wondered if Heater was just playing along or if she was just in a genuine good mood from their first victory.
"Woohoo!" Owen hollered while doing some dance moves, shacking his large butt. Good thing Dawn found his swim trunks, otherwise he'd be naked. "We did it we won the contest!"
"Hot tub party!" Trent shouted in excitement.
"I love hot tubs they always make me feel like lobsters being boiled!" Izzy suddenly said causing her team to stop their celebration and look to her with peculiar looks.
"If I may continue." An annoyed Chris interrupted any further talk between them as he turned to the losing team. "Killer Bass I'm not going to lie, today was not a good day for you. So, I'll be seeing you all at the bonfire tonight to see who is getting the boot from the island." He then walked away. "See you then."
The teams were now in the main lodge to eat their dinner, or whatever was passed of as it. The Screaming Gophers were all seated together in a good mood as they celebrated their victory.
"We rock!" Trent told the others as he raised his glass of water, which was the only normal thing served. "A toast to our teams first victory!"
"Here here!" Ben agreed with his own glass raised as he and everyone else hit each other's glasses together. He then turned to Gwen when he noticed her toast looked a little halfheartedly. "Something wrong Gwen?
The goth blinked as she looked to him. "No why?"
Ben tilted his head a bit. "Well, you seem a little down for being one of our teammates who helped score us our victory." He then turned to the chicken hat wearers. "No offense you two."
"It's okay." Beth replied unbothered while Heather just gave a displeased look. Not liking the fact she had to wear this symbol of cowardice for a while longer. Especially since Leshawna basically threw her off the cliff for nothing since they didn't gain any points from it.
Gwen looked down at her so-called food. "I'm just not one for parties."
"How come?" Ben asked only to get a small glare from her.
"None of your business!" The goth all but yelled at him.
Heather raised an eyebrow. "Hmm what's this? A possible hidden weakness?
Ben raised his hands in mock surrender. "I didn't mean to pry; I apologize if it seemed like I did."
"Yeah girl, don't be getting bent out of shape when you should be proud of yourself." Leshawna told her. This was their first moment of glory, why bum the crowed when you can be celebrating with your peeps.
Gwen just went back to looking at her food again.
Across from them was the Killer Bass's table who were having their own troubles. Because they had lost, they now had to decide which of their teammates should be sent home.
"So what should we do?" Katie asked the group.
"We figure out who we send home duh." Courtney stated as if it was obvious.
"I know that." Katie retorted before frowning. "I meant who should we choose?"
Duncan rolled his eyes. "Well obviously it should be pirate princess here." He told while pointing at the girl.
Courtney looked both shocked and offended by his words. "Why should I be the one to leave, I did my best to help out even though I wasn't allowed to!"
"Which only happened because you didn't jump." Duncan reminded before pointing at DJ. "Big guy here didn't jump because he was too scared, but you didn't jump cause you wanted to take a risk." He then gave a sharper look. "Which didn't pay off and neither did your so-called leadership during the hot tub building."
Now Courtney gave a glare back at the punk. "That was because you guys were fighting with each other and not working together at all." She looked to Bridgette for help. "You saw how they were, right? You know what I'm talking about?"
The surfer blinked a little nervously at being put in the middle of this. "Well… she does have a point." She admitted. "We weren't exactly working like a well-oiled machine out there."
"I don't really like machines." Dawn added.
The petite blonde earned looks from her team before they turned their attention back to Duncan who spoke up. "In any case even though the big guy here chickened out." He gestured his thumb at DJ. "If we ever get a challenge that involves strength then I like our odds better with him."
"Can't argue with that." Eva agreed as even though she thought DJ was a cowardly softie there was no denying he was likely their second strongest after herself.
"Muscles aren't everything." Courtney added almost a little desperately. "You need someone with brains on the team and I'm clearly the smartest since I'm the only one who-"
"Who used to be a real C.I.T we know." Bridgette cut her off as she and a few others rolled their eyes. How many times was she going to keep bringing that up, it's not like it did them any good today. "So then who do you suggest we vote off then?" she asked wanting to hear her opinion at least to be fair.
Courtney looked around at her teammates trying to see who she could shift the vote towards. She had thought about mentioning Dawn since she had weirded out everyone. Not to mention the fact she even creeped out sharks. But then remembered the act of kindness the girl gave her by treating her eye injury. It wouldn't be right to reward kindness with betrayal, especially since it might make her teammates dislike her more. She then spotted Tyler and remembered how clumsy he seems to be. "Well what about him?" he pointed at the jock.
"NO!" a female voice shouted.
The shout made everyone from both teams jump a bit in surprise. The Killer Bass turned to see that it was Lindsay who said that while her own team was looking at her weirdly.
"I mean… no salt." The dumb blonde began trying to cover up her blunder. "There's no salt in the table is what I meant, what a bummer." She nervously said while sitting herself back on the bench.
"Tch they always go for the jocks." Duncan thought a little disappointedly as he saw the real reason for the girls outburst. Oh well, there are still plenty of other girls here he could tease. "What about him? He didn't hesitate to actually jump so why should we get rid of him Mrs. Chicken wing?"
"Shut it!" Courtney shouted in his face both for deflecting her attempts and for the name calling.
Geoff suddenly rose between them wanting to prevent a fight from breaking out. "Hey now, let's all just chill out. This is getting way too heavy don't you think?"
Duncan rose from the bench. "Yeah and I've had better tasting prison food." He began to walk away. "I'm gonna go take a nap, wake me when it's time for the ceremony."
"You can't just leave now!" Courtney called after him. "We haven't even come to a decision yet!"
"Personally, I don't see why we lost ay." Ezekiel said as he turned to DJ. "I mean why didn't you just jump man? There's no reason for you to stoop to the girls level."
Silence filled the room as both teams had heard the homeschooled boy's words. The guys from both tables were looking at the boy with disbelief while the Gophers girls were giving him a look of small aggregation. However, theirs was nothing compared to the look the Bass girls were now starting to give their teammate. Even the gentler girls like Katie, Sadie and even the peaceful loving Dawn were giving their teammate a look of slight contempt.
"What's that supposed to mean." Bridgette trailed off with a tone on edge as she and Eva invaded his personal space.
"Yeah homeschool?" Eva said dangerously while clenching her fist and causing audible cracks to be heard from her knuckles, making the other guys on her team flinch. "Enlighten us."
The poor boy remained oblivious to what was happening as he pointed behind him. "Well just look at their team, there chickens are both girls, one of who had to be forced to jump for nothing. Its obvious guys are stronger, braver and better at sports than girls are." He said as if it were a fact before he then looked to DJ. "I don't see why you didn't just jump and win unlike our own chicken girl." He pointed at Courtney who was now looking livid as she gritted her teeth, some swear they could even see sparks of fire.
"Oh, snap dude." Geoff slapped his forehead almost wanting to laugh at what was happening. He never thought he'd see a guy who was dim enough to speak like that about girls while around them. "You did not just say that."
Gwen and Leshawana were especially getting mad as they stood up from their benches to march over and join the two girls in giving him a piece of their minds.
"Owen! Restrain Leshawna!" Ben quickly ordered as the big boy panicked and gave the girl a bear hug to stop her. While he on the other hand quickly grabbed Gwen by her wrists and held her back. "He's not worth it." He told the two girls, trying to prevent a likely attempted murder. "I know your angry and you both have every right to be but he's not worth it. Let his team's girls decide his punishment."
The two Gopher girls glared at him, making Ben afraid they'd turn all their anger towards him instead. Thankfully however their anger lessened and once he was sure about it, he gave Owen the ok to release Leshawna while he did the same with Gwen.
"I hope Eva chokes." Leshawna whispered angrily to Gwen.
"I hope she makes him a mute." The goth hissed in response.
"I hope she kicks him between the legs." Heather added while the other girls minus Lindsay glared.
"Oh boy, that guy is just flirting with disaster." Ben thought while scooting away from them.
Unfortunately, the homeschooled boy still didn't read the room as he shrugged. "My dad said I should look out for the girls here ay." He then crossed his arms. "And to help them out in case they can't keep up like real men can."
The girls were now glaring at him with real fury. Eva especially was now on the edge of snapping as she lifted the boy by his neck looking like she was seconds away from giving in and strangling him. "Still think we need your help!" she all but dared him to keep digging his own grave. Never in her life has she ever wanted to strangle someone so much.
"Uh…" A slightly scared Ezekiel trailed off as he recalled what Eva did to the shark. "Not really."
Seeing the situation escalating out of control Geoff decided to try and defuse the tension. "Come on now you guys let's give the kid a break." He gently told the two as Eva dropped the boy. "He's clearly unfamiliar with how things really work. At least he doesn't think that guys are smarter than girls."
"But they are ay." Ezekiels head popped up from undeath the bench.
"Aaaaaaand he's doomed now." Ben thought in disbelief at how stupid the boy was, especially in not reading the room.
Night had finally fallen on the island as all the members of the Killer Bass were seated in their stumps. Tension filled the air as every girl in the team were casting glares or looks at the back of Ezekiels head. The hanging lights were on as well as a campfire being lite as Chris stood before them holding a tray with marshmallows.
Duncan who was sitting next to Ezekiel leaned towards him. "Dude, you've got a lot to learn about the real world.
"Killer Bass." Chris called in a serious tone getting everyone's attention as he gestured to the marshmallows he held. "On this tray I have 11 marshmallows which at camp represents a tasty treat you enjoy roasting by a fire. But on the camp grounds of this show it represents your hope and life."
Geoff made a dramatic gesture of being hanged by a rope before smiling and tipping his hat at Bridgette. The surfer girl who had been frowning with displeasure at Ezekiel gave Geoff a slight smile and covered her mouth a bit to suppress a giggle. Not wanting to disrupt the seriousness Chris was setting up.
"You've all cast your vote and made your decision tonight." Chris continued as he held up the marshmallows. "There are 11 marshmallows, when I call your name, step up and claim your prize." He then gave a forewarning look as he pointed behind him towards the dock that they all arrived at where the boat Cheff was on was stationed. "The one who doesn't get a marshmallow tonight must immediately head for the Dock of Shame. To catch the boat of losers where they will leave the island and can't come back… ever."
Most of the team tensed up at hearing that.
"Now then the first marshmallow of the night goes to… Geoff." Chris said after a small pause for drama. The cowboy hat wearing teen gave an excited smile as he ran up. He had a stick which he used to stick his prize on it and went to stand on a corner where Chris pointed for the winners.
"Tyler." Chris called out next as the jock.
"Yeah!" he cheered as he rose. "Place at the winners table!" he ran to claim his treat with his own stick.
"Harold, Eva, Dawn, Bridgette, DJ." The host continued calling as the five stood in call order and went to get their marshmallows, all putting them through sticks. He turned his attention to the Jamaican descendant. "DJ, you'll be happy to know that you may now remove your chicken hat."
DJ sighed in relief as he took the thing off. "Thanks man, feels good to take it off at last."
Chris nodded to the gentle giant before continuing. "Katie and Sadie." He called both.
The two BFFF's gave small squeals of delight before they both rose and took their treats.
"Duncan." The host called as the punk gave a small smirk before claiming his piece. Chris then turned to the final two campers: Courtney and Ezekiel. "Campers there's now only one marshmallow left and one of you has been voted off the island." He reminded as their tension grew higher. "And so the final marshmallow goes to…" He paused to let the suspense build up not just in the campers but the viewers.
The silence was tension filled and yet in the minds of everyone they could almost hear a dramatic music playing. The host stared into the eyes of both campers with judgement. He then raised his hand pointing into the air, causing both campers to almost start biting their nails as they thought he was about to point to the winner. Only for that tension to grow more when he instead tapped his chin in though with it. Oh, he was clearly enjoying their suspense. Finally however he spoke the name of the camper who would move on.
"Courtney." The girl smiled before releasing a her a breath of relief as her worries vanished. She quickly went to get her marshmallow leaving a surprised and sad looking Ezekiel all alone.
"Can't say I'm surprised dude." Chris pointed at the eliminated camper. "I saw you picking your nose, not cool." He then approached him before gesturing to the awaiting boat. "Though I can guess what really led to your elimination. It's time for you to go, the dock of shame is that way."
The homeschooled teen got up and silently walked away. A waiting Cheff threw his luggage at him once he arrived. No doubt having been packed up in secret after the votes were cast. He then drove the boat with its first eliminated camper away from Total Drama Island.
"The rest of you may now enjoy your tasty treats as your safe… for tonight." Chris warned with a smirk at them as the victors all silently roasted their marshmallows. The first of them had fallen, who knows what awaited them in the future.
Confessional
"So I still think the camp stinks." Gwen mumbled looking downcast before lifting her head. "Although now that I'm here I suppose I should try and actually win this thing."
(Static)
"That was too close for me today." Courtney remarked as she leaned back with her arms crossed worriedly. "I almost became the first camper to be eliminated. If Ezekiel hadn't been revealed as an infuriating, blabbermouth, sexist I might've been the one leaving tonight." She then got a determined look with a small smile. "Still he's gone and I'm not. Now I have to make sure this doesn't happen again by showing my team just how valuable I am."
The Screaming Gophers were gathered by their new hot tub as they prepared to party. It wasn't big enough for all of them to fit in so they had to decide what half of the team would go in first. They had gathered some juice boxes from the main lodge. They wished they could've gotten soda's but unfortunately Cheff kept the good stuff locked away.
"Let's just play rock, paper scissors for it." Cody suggested.
"No way that'll take too long, let's just write our names on paper and draw them from a bowl." Trent offered.
"Hello, haven't you heard of ladies first!" Leshawna scoffed with a hand on her hip while sporting a sassy look.
"For once I agree with ghetto girl here." Heather said in agreement.
On the sidelines Ben, Owen, Lindsay, Beth, Justin, Gwen and Noah stood. They were part of the less interested group who didn't really care who went first. Their missing teammate Izzy however had disappeared for reasons unknown but that didn't bother them. Ben however had started to grow tired of watching the endless indecision between them. He thought about how to get them to come to an agreement and came up with an idea.
"Hey guys can I make a suggestion?" he asked as the debating group stopped and turned to him.
"What is it?" Cody asked for the bickering four.
"Well since it's our prize for winning I think the ones who should get to use it first are the ones who deserve it most." Ben offered gaining looks from everyone wondering what he meant.
Heather crossed her arms unamused. "And just who do you think those are?"
Ben smiled. "I think it should be Noah, Owen, Cody, Lindsay and Gwen. The sixth one we can choose at random."
At hearing the names their owners blinked, especially Gwen at hearing Ben say she deserved it most alongside them.
"How are they the most deserving?" Leshawna questioned his reasoning.
"Cause they're ones who showed the most courage by overcoming their fears and jumping for the sake of the team." Ben revealed earning raised eyebrows from them at his words. "I jumped without real fear, but they experienced it yet found the guts to jump anyway, so I think they've proved their worth most and deserve the first turn."
Gwen smiled a bit, feeling touched by the teen's words. She wasn't the only one however as the others smiled as well. Owen practically looked like he was about to shed tears of joy but held them back. Trent saw the goth's smile at the teen and looked between her and Ben in wonder for a moment. Did Ben…? Nah surely, he wasn't interested in her.
"I agree with him." The guitarist spoke up as Gwen looked to him and he gave his own smile which she looked away from to hide her own. "Gwen and the others worked the hardest so they should get to enjoy it first."
Leshawna thought about that for a moment before conceding with a smile. "Alright I can get behind that. Giving your peeps recognition they deserve is something I can respect."
Heather wanted to object since she wasn't mentioned among them. Her mind changed however when she saw everyone else giving their approval. She knew then that she was beat, so she decided to just try and make do with the situation. "So how do we decide the random sixth?"
"Well only you, Leshawna and Trent are interested in using it first." Ben cleared up before holding his palm out. "Let's play a quick guessing game, I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 30. You each get one guess only and whoever comes closest wins and gets to go first." He added the terms as the three nodded, accepting it. After all he hadn't gotten to know any of them yet so it's not like he had someone to play favorites with.
"24." Heather immediately guessed.
"18." Leshawna added.
"Umm… 7?" Trent added the final guess.
Ben smiled as he pointed a finger in the air for drama. "And the winner is… Trent!" he pointed at the guitarist whose eyes brightened and he gave a fist pump. "For coming closest to the number 10."
"Alright!" the musician gave a shout out happy to be going first. And secretly that he would be going first with Gwen who he found be to an interesting girl. Unknown to him Gwen had a momentary faint blush at seeing she was going to party in the hot tub with the cute musician.
Things were already looking interesting for their team, and it was only the first night.
CUUUUUUUUUT! That's a wrap for this chapter as the first person has been eliminated. Sorry if you were expecting a different outcome but it's too early. Time needs to pass so that Ben and Dawn's presence can truly start affecting things. But don't worry you won't have to wait long to see that happen.
As you may or may not have noticed I'm rotating updated between my two fics back and forth. So after I update my Avengers fic next I'll return to Total Drama again. Yeah the wait is kind of a bother but it's how I'm comfortable doing things. Although who knows, I may break that method at some point.
Till next time.
