I originally wanted to name this fic Lost at Sea, but I rethought it and named it Captain of The Land of Fire. In this story Naruto will NOT learn any ineffective flashy jutsu. Jutsus that are flashy but barely do anything are complete bullshit. He will mainly use seals, guns, hand-to-hand combat (not Taijutsu, he will mostly have a brawler's fighting style, but more effective than his original fighting style), combat knife, katana, shadow clones, the uzumaki sealing chains, the few tanks, a Harley Davidson WLA military motorcycle, and his battlecruiser and destroyer.

Captain of the Land of Fire
Ch.2 Return home.
-A few minutes after unsealing Yugura-
"So, you expect us to believe that during the entirety of the war you were under mind control and had no control of your actions." Asked Mei skeptically not really believing the story.
"No, I didn't think you would, but I truly don't remember what has happened. Though maybe you want a second opinion?" asked Yugura.
"Are you talking about the sanbi?" asked Zabuza
"Yes, give me a-" Yugura slumps over for a second, when he sat back up he closed his left eye and his right looked like a turtles'.
"What my container says is true but what he didn't remember to say is that the masked man had a sharingan. The only Uchiha that I remember having the power to control a man and the tailed beast within, Madara Uchiha. Please don't kill Yugura, he only wants to help fix what has happened, even though it is not truly his fault."
"I will discuss this later when he is rested and recovers from his injuries. Though for now it is best that he is declared dead, because if the population knew he was alive and weakened to the point that he couldn't even move, they would try to end him themselves." Said Mei
"Thank you" Done saying his piece the sanbi returned into the seal and Yugura slumped over and remained unconscious.
"Well do you have anywhere you can put him or should I seal him back into the scroll for now?" asked Naruto as he pulled out the scroll that had previously held the jinchuriki of the three-tails.
"No we have somewhere we can put him, though it may be easier to transport him there in the scroll. Though-" Mei was interrupted by Naruto holding his hand up.
"Someone is outside most likely trying to get your attention; would you like to tend to them?" Asked Naruto as he sealed Yugura back into the scroll and handed it to Mei and released the silencing seal.
Mei brushed away the flap of her tent to see who was trying to get her attention and saw a genin with her ear up to part of the tent. "May I help you?"
The young genin squeaked in shock and spun around to face Mei and bowed. "Lady Mei the council has called for a meeting and requests that both you and our guest attend." Said the now shaking genin.
"Tell them that we will be there, and next time try to be a bit more discrete when trying to listen in on people more skilled than you are." Said Mei somewhat amused.
The genin bowed and hurriedly went back to inform the council.
Mei sighed and looked back at the three other ninja in the tent and asked "Well it seems Naruto and I have been summoned by our honorable council. I don't suppose you would want to take over the job Zabuza? It was your dream to be Mizukage before you left.
"No, I'll think I will pass, seeing you bogged down with paperwork doesn't seem too much fun and the stress will give too much grey hair."
Mei sweetly smiled "Zabu-chan shut up" and she left with Naruto following right behind her.
"Yes dear." Zabuza replied following after them leaving a shocked Chojuro behind wondering when did those two get together.
A little while later Naruto found himself sitting in front of the entirety of the bloodline faction's council, and quite frankly he was annoyed. Many of the council members demanded that he give everything he had to them and teach their ninja how to operate his ship, others questioned if he was actually an Uzumaki which made no sense due to his display with his clans' chains, and many asked if he would consider joining Kiri.
"OI! SHUT UP! I only agreed to be here out of curtesy, not to be hassled by you asshats, but I will humor you. First to those who want my vessel, fuck off, second yes, I am an Uzumaki the chains should have made that obvious, and no I will not be joining Kiri, apparently I was… am a Konoha ninja. Now if there is nothing else I will take my leave, I have places to be, people to meet, ta-ta." Said Naruto as he stood up from the chair he was sitting in and left.
"Did that little upstart just leave?" asked one of the higher-ranking council members.
"Yes I believe he did." Said Mei.
"Well Drag his ass back here, we still need him to give us his ship." Said another council member.
"I'm afraid I can't do that as I have no power over him, and he took out Yugura for us. Just leave him be." Said Mei.
With that said Zabuza departed the council tent and went after Naruto, and Mei started to get agitated at the idiotic councilors bickering like schoolchildren.
-With Zabuza and Naruto walking to Zabuza's tent-
"So no-brows what do you know of me?" asked Naruto which in return made Zabuza to gain a tick mark above where his eyebrow was supposed to be, but it was kind of hard to tell since he didn't have any.
"Brat it's a good thing for you that I'm indebted to you for saving both me and my daughter or I would send you flying back to the mainland with my sword for that. As for what I know of you is that you were a kind hearted Genin of Konoha that happened to be annoying, loud, and weak for a ninja. Though you beat Haku, saved her life, stopped your sensei from killing me, and killed a little rich corrupt twat named Gato. People thought you were killed by one of Gato's thugs when you were bashed over the head with a war hammer. Your body was thrown over the side of the bridge we were fighting on, and lost to the sea. You even have a rather impressive bridge named after you brat." Said Zabuza.
"Well that makes sense… I must of sucked as a ninja before I lost my memories." Said a slightly embarrassed Naruto.
"Aye, you did brat."
"How did I get a bridge named after me?"
"Well I don't know every detail but you inspired a young boy to fight to protect what he cared for and he then inspired the village to take up arms against their oppressor, though they arrived at the bridge just as the battle drew to a close. Haku became really vicious to Gatos' mercenaries after we thought you had been killed and flash froze mercs that you didn't kill and hunted down the ones that escaped the onslaught on the bridge. She became really depressed after everything was said and done, she was sad that she had lost her first friend. Though she almost turned your pink haired teammate into a pincushion for badmouthing you and saying that she was glad you were gone. Boy was she pissed. Answered Zabuza with a small sweat drop.
"Damn, so much that don't remember. I By the way, who is this Haku you were talking about, and why does she care for me so much?" asked Naruto.
"Haku is my adoptive daughter and student, and you saved her and me from being speared by a lightning coated hand. You tackled your sensei before he could strike ether one of us, as for why she cares for you, she met you in the forest collecting herbs to heal me and you two kicked it off." Answered Zabuza as the both of them stopped in front of the tent.
"Brace yourself brat, she may become highly emotional when she realizes that you're alive… Haku come and see who saved our asses from Yuguras' trap."
"Zabuza-sama how many times have I told you to watch your language." said Haku as she poked her head out of the tent. She was, in Naruto's eyes, very cute.
"Who is this Zabuza-sama? I don't think I've seen this person before-" she stopped as Naruto pulled down his mask.
For a few minutes there was silence, then the brunette girl tackled Naruto.
"Y-You're a-alive." She cried as she buried her face into Naruto's chest.
"Umm…" Naruto was lost; he didn't know what to do in the situation that he had to deal with a crying girl. He looked over at Zabuza with an expression that said what do I do, but Zabuza just gave him a thumbs up.
"She is very clingy brat, good luck on trying to get away from her especially now that she knows you are alive." With that Zabuza vanished.
Silently cursing Zabuza, Naruto guessing on what to do next wrapped his arms around her and carefully picked her up. He then went inside the tent and sat down on a cot with Haku in his arms until she cried herself to sleep.
Naruto then tried to lay Haku on her cot but she didn't want to let go.
'Well damn… Guess I'm stuck here for the time being.' Thought Naruto as he leaned back and dozed off with Haku snuggling closer to him.
-A few hours later-
Naruto woke to Haku shifting in her sleep. She had wrapped herself around his torso and he had an arm around her holding her closely. Naruto looked around to see a very amused Zabuza and Mei sitting close and quietly chatting.
"Oi brat should I expect to be a grandfather anytime soon?"
"You want to be?"
"No."
"Then you have nothing to worry about."
"Well how are you feeling Naruto?" asked the Auburn-haired woman.
"Well other than not really remembering the girl in my arms I am strangely comfortable right now like I feel like I am familiar with her."
"Watch it brat, that's my daughter, and if you hurt her in any way I will skin you alive." Said Zabuza with a frown but was swatted by Mei.
"Leave him alone, you are the one that left him in the position. Also what do you mean you don't remember her?" Asked Mei a little confused.
"I really don't remember much since I woke up on an island. The only things I do kind of remember is an old man with a red triangle-ish hat smoking a pipe and a man with silver hair in a mask similar to mine reading an orange book." Said Naruto now running his hand through Hakus' hair.
"That is kind of expected. You did take a nasty blow to the head so you having amnesia isn't really surprise. Though it seems you remember the Third Hokage and Kakashi." Said Zabuza as Haku started to wake up.
"Mnnn…Zabuza-sama I just dreamed that you brought Naruto here saying that he beat Yugura and that… What?" Asked Haku Confused at the smile from Mei and teasing grin from Zabuza. It was then she realized that she was very comfortable and someone was running their hand through her hair. She looked up and froze.
"That wasn't a dream, are you feeling better?" Asked Naruto though he wasn't ready at the now ecstatic Haku that rapidly fired questions at him.
"What happened to you, where did you go, what happened to your blonde hair…" Naruto looking surprised and tried to answer all her questions but couldn't keep up. Eventually he was saved by Zabuza who picked Haku up like a small child.
"Let the kid breath Haku, you'll have plenty of time to catch up. Say brat why don't you tell us what you've been up to for the past year. Said Zabuza. With that said Haku had a slight blush and apologized.
Naruto smiled and then began to tell the story of his yearlong stay on the deserted island.
-Coast nearest to Konoha, 05:30 (5:30 am) two weeks later-
Naruto stayed with the rebels for a week and a half to help with the aftermath of the civil war and to spend time with Haku who was now very happy knowing that her friend wasn't dead. During his time with Haku he gained a few fragments of his memory about her, Zabuza, and his team, though he really didn't like what he remembered about his team. He eventually said that he had to return to his village, and as he was about to leave, he was asked to give a scroll to the Hokage by Mei who was now the fifth Mizukage. He also got a peck on the cheek from Haku and left with a blush before Zabuza could come after him with his sword.
Now Naruto was standing on water beside his ship trying to find where he put the scroll link seal that was on his ship.
'Where the hell did I put that- oh here it is' thought Naruto as he placed his hand on the seal. A cloud of smoke covered the ship, when the smoke cleared the ship was gone, and Naruto now held the scroll his ship was sealed into.
'Now to get to a shore and unseal my bike.' Thought Naruto.
Naruto ran to shore and leapt into the trees nearby. Fifteen minutes later Naruto landed in the middle of a dirt road.
'Well this is a good spot to unseal my ride, it's a long way to Konoha so might as well see how she performs.' Thought Naruto as he unsealed his Harley Davidson WLA Motorcycle and started the engine. He didn't really get to test ride his bike very much after he repaired it since there wasn't really anywhere flat on the island that he could ride on.
'HA, she purrs like a kitten.' Thought Naruto as he raced off to Konoha.
-Konoha, front gate 4 hours later-
It was a peaceful morning, birds singing, crickets chirping, and the gate guards snoring.
Izumo and Kotetsu awoken by a dull roar, from what they didn't know. The sound became louder each passing second; Izumo becoming nervous alerted the nearby anbu by flaring his chakra. Soon the two gate guards, six anbu and a curious silver haired Jonin were standing in front of the gate waiting. A metallic object came into view approaching their position quickly. The ninja tensed as the object did a 90-degree turn and slid to a halt in front of them. The person on the object removed the goggles they were wearing and faced them.
"Excuse me, this is Konoha correct?"
"Yes this is Konoha. Why are you here, and what is that?" asked the lead anbu, Owl, pointing to the bike.
"To return home after being lost on a mission, and this is a motorcycle. Thank you, gents, have a nice day." Said Naruto as he whirled around on his motorcycle and sped off through the village.
"After him!" shouted the Owl masked anbu.
"Excuse me, pardon me, sorry. Aww hell." Said Naruto as he weaved in and out of startled villagers and saw that a wall of stone, courtesy of one of the anbu, had blocked off the road.
Naruto channeled an excessive amount of chakra into his legs and slammed his feet into the ground launching himself up and over the wall. Naruto deciding to not risk damaging his bike sealed it back onto the scroll that was linked to it.
'I think I have had enough fun, time to see the Hokage.' Thought Naruto, but he didn't get far. A green blur slammed into him hurling him through a nearby wall.
"Ow… anyone get the license plate on the tank that hit me?" asked Naruto as he staggered out of the hole in the wall only to see something he didn't know how to respond to. A young man with a bowl cut, some of the largest eyebrows he has ever seen, and a bright green bodysuit.
"MY YOUTHFUL OPPONENT, I AM ROCK LEE, AND I ASK THAT YOU DO NOT RESIST CAPTURE!" asked/shouted Lee.
"Uhhh… What?" asked a confused Naruto.
"YOU ENTERED THE VILLAGE APPEARING LIKE A FOE, THAT IS WHY YOU MUST BE TAKEN IN!"
"I'm sorry but I don't have time to be captured, I have someone I need to see." Naruto responded as he closed his eyes and tossed an experimental non-lethal grenade at Lee's feet.
All Lee saw was a bright flash, and a deafening bang. Naruto took this chance to knock Lee unconscious with a kick to the head.
'Well that's one weirdo taken care of, might as well take him with me just in case there are some negative effects from the grenade.' Thought Naruto.
He hefted Lee over his shoulder and started to run to the Hokage tower, though a girlish guy and a panda like tomboy soon stopped him right outside of the tower. (Guess who.)
"I am afraid this is as far as you go, hand over Lee and stand down." Ordered the girlish guy.
"Eh… Actually, he is better off with me, I still have to check and see if there are any unwanted side effects to the experimental weapon I used on him. Also, why the hell do you look like a lady?" asked Naruto.
Neji turned red with anger. "Why you-" "Neji stop, he still has Lee, and we don't know what he did to him. By the way what did you do to him?" asked Tenten.
"Knocked him out, and hopefully temporarily blinded him." Said Naruto as he walked to a nearby wall and leaned Lee against it.
"Well I am on a schedule and I need to see the Hokage, and you two are in my way, so how is it going to go? Are you two going to step aside, or are we going to do this the hard way?" asked Naruto as he unsheathed his Sword.
"Neji grab Lee and take him to the hospital, I'll take care of him." Said Tenten as she took out a katana from one of her scrolls.
"Ok I guess I'm game for a fight before I see the Hokage." Said Naruto as he pulled out his M1911a1 and aimed it at Neji.
'Be thankful that these are only rubber bullets.' Thought Naruto as he fired twice at Neji. Neji was knocked down and incapacitated from the two shots.
Naruto leaned back nearly decapitated when Tenten charged at him in fury. She followed up her attack by trying to stab Naruto in the chest which he dodged.
Naruto blocked a slash from her weapon pushed her back. It was then Narutos' Bastard sword glowed silver and if one was to look closer, they would see thousands of seals littering the blade. He then blocked an overhead strike from his opponents' katana which promptly shattered leaving only the hilt in Tentens' hands. Taking advantage of her shock Naruto got up close and punched Tenten in the stomach making her fall to her knees gasping for air. He then bashed her on the back of the head with the butt of his sword to knocking her out.
'What's next a freaking Sanin or a squad of anbu?' thought Naruto as he attempted to leave but was stopped when a figure in red ceremonial robes landed in front of him.
"May I ask why you have not only trespassed in my village, but also attacked my Genin?" asked an irritated elderly voce.
Naruto slowly turned his head to see whom it was, and sighed.
"Reporting back from unscheduled leave sir." Replied Naruto as he sheathed his sword.
"You didn't answer my question."
"I entered the village to report to you, and defended myself from the ninja in this village when they tried to stop me." Said Naruto.
"Who are you? You bare the crest of Uzushiogakure, that village fell many years ago." Asked Hiruzen.
"Naruto Uzumaki, apparently I am a ninja of this village."
"Brat follow me, we have much to discuss." The old man said with a stern voice.
Naruto made two clones to grab Neji and Tenten as he hefted Lee over his shoulder and followed the Hokage back to his office.
Once in the office Naruto slapped a silencing seal on the door and bound all three Genin in Chakra suppressing rope.
"May I ask why you tied them up." Asked Hiruzen now sitting behind his desk.
"Well I tied greenie up because I used an experimental flash grenade on him and don't want him floundering around blind, girly boy because I used a different experimental weapon against him, and panda girl because she might be pissed off that I shattered her sword." Answered Naruto finishing hogtieing the three genin.
The old man sweat dropped at the last reason and coughed into his hand. "Well on to business, you claim to be Naruto Uzumaki, but he died little over a year ago. Do you have any evidence to prove your claim?" asked the old man with a bit of an edge to his voice. Loosing his surrogate grandson was a heavy blow to him and now someone was claiming to be him. If the claim was false Hiruzen would kill the imposter on the spot.
Naruto sensing the slight danger in the room hesitated slightly as he pulled down his mask showing his whiskered face and the scar on the side of his head where he was hit.
"This good enough old man?" asked Naruto as he also manifested three chakra chains that lazily swayed behind Naruto.
"Would you lift your shirt and channel your chakra?"
A little confused Naruto slowly complied and was shocked to see a very complex seal show up on his stomach. A seal that he saw outclassed his skills by a longshot.
"I had no clu-" he was interrupted by the sensation of being placed in a bone crushing hug and then a minute later being floored by a hard whack to his noggin.
"You little shit I would beat you into the ground right now for making me think you had died but I am too over joyed that you aren't dead. What happened and where have you been?" asked the old Hokage sitting back into his chair and pulling out his smoking pipe.
When he got up from the floor, Naruto glared at the old man and then grinned, he felt happy for some reason but he couldn't tell why. Naruto then sat down in one of the chairs in front of the desk and told his tale.
"So, let me get this straight," Hiruzen said as he exhaled a large puff of smoke. "You washed up on an island and had no memories of your past, found out about half your heritage from sheer luck and trained in your clans' skills, and learned how to use weapons and vehicles from another world. You then proceed to decimate outposts and forts belonging to Kiri loyalists and eventually end the war by taking out Yugura. How the hell do you keep getting into situations like this? I swear you are a giant trouble magnet. Do you have anything else to add?"
"Yeah the new Mizukage wanted me to give you this." Said Naruto as he pulled out a scroll from a seal on his arm and placed it on the desk in front of the old man.
Hiruzen opened the scroll and read it, a few seconds later he looked like a gaping fish.
"Naruto, do you know what you just delivered me?" Naruto shook his head to the negative. "You just handed me a scroll that has the mission reports that verify your claims and that the new Kiri leadership wants to ally itself to the leaf, and they want to cement it with a marriage contract between you and a girl named Haku…. With the face you are making I guess you know who that is." Said the old man looking at Naruto.
Naruto himself looked shocked, but nodded at the question. "she is the girl that I befriended and saved during the mission to wave."
"Well even though I will have to discuss this with the new Mizukage in person, what is your answer to the contract?"
"I don't know, I would have to see what Haku says about it. I would not mind but I wouldn't want to agree with it and force her to go along with it.
"Very well. Also in light of recent events I hereby promote you to chunin, with your skill, power, and tactical prowess in battle you have earned it." Said the old man tossing a flak jacket to Naruto. "I would have promoted you to special jonin but you don't have enough experience leading a team on a mission. That being said I believe your prisoners are waking up."
With a collective groan the three genin started to gain their bearings and saw Naruto squatting in front of them holding a notepad.
"Ok, greenie what do you feel like?"
Confused Lee started to shout but stopped when his head started pounding. "I feel like my heads been cracked open." Said Lee.
"That's to be expected, can you see and hear normally?"
Lee nodded and groaned; movement of his head made it worse. At this Naruto started scribbling into his notebook.
"May need to dial it back on the concussion effect, you should be fine tomorrow… ok ladyboy any sharp pain, does it feel like your bones are broken or cracked?" asked Naruto.
At the nickname Neji glared at Naruto and struggled to get out of his bonds but found he couldn't access his chakra. "What did you do to me, I can't use my chakra." Neji demanded.
"So your fine, though may want to use slightly softer rubber for the bullets." Naruto Mumbled.
"HEY! Answer the question!" shouted Tenten more than unhappy that her sword had been broken.
"The ropes are lined with chakra suppressing seals."
"How did you break my sword? That was chakra metal, it's very hard to break and you shattered it without any effort." Asked Tenten.
"I'm sorry, that is a secret of my clan. Though I will give you a hint. It deals with a butt ton of seals." Said Naruto as he looked back to the Hokage. "Do I have a place to live still?"
"I'm sorry to say that your apartment was condemned and destroyed about two months ago. Though I will give you the key to your mothers' old house that she lived in as a genin, but you might want to clean it as it hasn't been used for the better part of twentyish years." Said the old Sarutobi as he tossed Naruto a key with the address wrapped around it. Naruto thanked the old man and made his way to leave.
"Ah Naruto do you mind freeing them before you go?"
Sheepishly Naruto held his hand up into a half ram sign and flared his chakra breaking the silencing seal and making the ropes disappear back into the seal in his pouch. He then vanished in a swirl of water.
"aww man, I didn't even get to ask him what those weapons were that he used." Said a slightly still unhappy Tenten.
"Ahem." At that the three genin looked at their leader.
Deciding to have a little fun with his underlings he said grinning. "You three do know attacking a superior officer is a punishable offence, right?"
"The three genin went as pale as a ghost as they nodded.
"Well just wanted you to know, have a nice day." Said the old man.
The three genin quickly left in search of the odd boy who had beaten them.
'Now what to do about this possible alliance.' The old man thought now all alone.
