Chapter 5- Hogwarts Bound
"Please don't cry, Mum." Harry tried to placate his mother as he was about to board the Hogwarts Express.
" We will be home before you even know it. Christmas is just two months away." Harry trying to calm a very upset Dorea
" Come now, Dor. Harry is right. We won't even notice them gone. They will be back before you know it." Charlus explained as he placed an arm around his wife. Dorea nodded. She knew that this would happen. They had to go to school.
" I want the two of you to write to me every week." She demanded. " Harry, no skipping meals and drowning yourself in your practice." She warned and Harry could only nod quickly.
" James, Sirius. I warn the two of you. Please don't waste your time playing those pranks. I am fed up with Minerva writing to me complaining about all your shenanigans." She narrowed her eyes as the boys grinned back at her cheekily.
" I don't even know why I bother." She sighed as the two boys grinned victoriously.
" James?" She snapped and James held his hands up in surrender.
" Ok fine. I'll try my best to not try and prank a lot of them." James immediately backtracked.
He didn't want to anger his mother. It certainly won't be good for him.
She smiled at the three of them. " I want you to enjoy yourself. And study well. Take care." She kissed the three of them on her forehead.
Charlus then addressed the three of them with a very serious expression on his face.
" I know that you two are furious about the matter of Peter Pettigrew." He calmly pointed out and was not surprised when James snarled in anger.
Learning of the supposed betrayal of their friend from Harry had been a bitter pill to swallow.
They were devastated at first and found it difficult to digest, but that didn't last long as it turned to fury. It had required a considerable effort from both the elder Potters to prevent James from running to the boy and killing him himself.
" James. Calm down." Charlus warned with a no-nonsense tone.
" I know that it won't be easy, but the boy is not the same man he would become. Not yet, to be precise." Charlus continued.
" So, I won't have the two of you running through the train and cursing him within an inch of his life," Charlus warned. " I won't tolerate it either."
" Now, I want you to give the boy a chance." He raised his hand to quell the protest.
" Believe me, I want to kill the boy for that myself, but he is not the same person." He explained.
" Give the boy a chance. Observe him. Something happened that caused the boy to tread that path. You had repeatedly told me that he was a bit weaker than the rest of you. That he was a bit of a scared boy. I am almost certain that something happened that caused him to become what he did become." Charlus explained calmly.
" But if his intention was always betrayal, if he is playing around with you, if he is planning behind your backs, then he is fair game. I want you to be ruthless in dealing with him. Show no mercy." He bit back, fire burning in his brown eyes.
The two boys nodded. Charlus then addressed Harry. " I know that it will be difficult to hold back, Harry. But I want you to remain calm. Never give an inch to those people. And don't let that mad old bastard interfere a lot with you." He said and Harry nodded.
It had come as a huge relief to know that his father was at arm's length with Dumbledore. It would not have done well with him capturing the interest of the old man and having him interfere in everything that he had to do.
" A lot of them would be interested in you, Harry. I know that you will be very alert. But still, I want you to keep an eye on the others. Keep them safe while you are there. " Charlus instructed.
" In the meantime, I and Arcturus would start working our way in the political arena." He promised.
" Take care, son." He smiled at the young man and patted his back.
Harry, James and Sirius turned and walked back to the train.
" Let's get going then, shall we?" Charlus and Dorea turned around and came face to face with Arcturus and Melania.
The Potter couple nodded.
" Let's go," Dorea replied and started to move towards the apparition point.
&&&--
Harry turned the noise out. His compartment was surely very noisy. Sirius and James for purebloods could be extremely boisterous when they want.
Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew were sitting with them.
Remus had been polite from the moment that Harry introduced himself. Not surprising. He was always very polite. Even in the future, Remus was very soft-spoken. It pained Harry a lot to see that such a good man suffered from such a terrible fate.
He could not even imagine the pain and sadness that he undergoes when he is transforming.
If there is one thing that makes Sirius and his brother wonderful men is their determination to help their friends in any way they can.
Coming from such prestigious families and a long list of purebloods, they didn't have the obligation to befriend a werewolf who is an outcast in the Wizarding World.
Not only did they welcome the boy with open arms, but stood by his side and brought him out of his shell and turned him into a confident young man.
On top of that, they managed to become Animagus at the tender age of fifteen, something that many have never heard of and without anybody guiding them along the way. The Animagus transformation is probably the most difficult and dangerous form of magic that a Wizard or Witch can achieve.
Horrible things happen to those that attempt it without proper understanding and concentration.
The risk they undertook so that a friend of theirs isn't lonely, warmed his heart.
Then, there was Peter. Harry at first glance couldn't even believe that this boy was responsible for his life going downhill.
He was a handsome boy, not tall nor short and Harry could sense that he was a reasonably intelligent boy. His power levels were good too. The boy had managed to achieve the Animagus transformation after all.
Harry peaked into the boy's mind with a subtle legilimency probe but was surprised to see that the boy was genuinely pleased and equally excited to meet him.
' What the hell happened to him?' he thought internally. Anyways, he would keep an eye on the boy. If he is genuinely a good person, then he will help him out.
He was broken from his train of thought when he felt someone shake his shoulder.
Harry shook his head as he was back in the land of the living.
" What is it?" He questioned.
" They mentioned that you took your OWLs recently. How did you fare?" Peter questioned curiously.
Harry smiled.
" O's in seven of them to be precise. Took nine, got seven." He replied, his voice filled with pride.
" What about you, Peter?" Harry questioned genuinely.
The boy grinned.
" Seven OWLs. I was worried that I might not do well but James helped a lot." Peter replied.
" Remus?" Harry questioned, turning to the other boy in the compartment.
" Well….I managed to do well in every subject. Ten OWLs. Outstanding in all of them." He said. Harry was surprised.
He knew that Remus was brilliant, but this was something else.
" That's fantastic, Remus. I knew you were the level headed one in this group, but I didn't know that you were the intelligent one as well. Glad to see one with more brains and less talk compared to these two brats." He teased James and Sirius.
" Oi.." Sirius snapped, seemingly annoyed at Harry's words.
" I will have you know that I am very intelligent too," Sirius said, causing James and Peter to snort. Sirius shot the two glares and sat down.
" Thank you," Remus said, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.
" Don't thank me, Remus. It's your effort and hard work. You should be proud." Harry encouraged the boy.
The boy nodded and the compartment fell into a comfortable silence.
Harry didn't know when, but he had fallen asleep. It was after some time that Harry finally woke up.
" We have reached, Harry," James called out, opening the door of the compartment.
Harry nodded. " Did you check on the girls?" He questioned.
Sirius nodded. " Yes. They are fine." He said and exited the compartment.
Harry stretched as he shook the sleep of his body.
He slowly followed his friends towards the carriages. They entered a carriage and moved towards the castle.
A geniune smile made its way onto Harry's face as his eyes fell on Hogwarts in all its majestic glory. The castle looked as brilliant as it always did. Shining in the dark. " Home sweet home." He muttered, smiling again as all the memories of Hogwarts resurfaced.
The carriages came to a stop and the students started to make their way up to the castle. The first years were to make the traditional entrance through the boats so, it was only the second years and above.
Harry needed to be sorted but he didn't bother waiting for the first years.
He was about to follow his brother inside when he was stopped by a familiar voice.
" Professor McGonagall." Harry greeted the woman. The professor nodded her greeting.
" You will be called at the end of the sorting, Mr Potter." She informed.
" And I hope for the sake of this school that you aren't anything like your brother and his friends. Merlin knows they are more than enough to cause early retirement to the staff." She groaned as Harry chuckled.
" I'll try and keep them in line." He promised the Deputy Headmistress who displayed a rare smile." I'll see you in my class, Mr Potter. I hope you are in Gryffindor." She walked off, leaving behind an amused Harry.
It was like McGonagall to be annoyed and at the same time happy for you. If there was another quidditch fanatical like Oliver Wood, it's Professor McGonagall. Probably the other way round, but that is neither here nor there.
It was an hour later that Harry heard his name being called. The hall was ushered into silence. He calmly walked up to the sorting hat, ignoring the pointings and whisperings.
He sat down on the stool and Professor McGonagall placed the hat on his head.
" Ah….Mr Potter. I am finally meeting you again." The hat spoke in his head as Harry tensed.
" Worry not young Potter. You can relax. I will not be speaking of what I find here, with anyone. You have my word." The hat continued.
" Now for the tough question. Where shall I put you?" The hat questioned Harry.
" As my counterpart had said, you would do extremely well in Slytherin." The hat spoke in his head.
Harry grimaced.
" I would rather not be there. I would murder half of the house by the night is over. Put me in Gryffindor, please." Harry requested.
" Hm. You would do well in Godric's den as well. As you wish, young man." The hat agreed.
" Gryffindor!!" The hat shouted and the Gryffindor table erupted in cheers. Harry's eyes flitted to his cousins at the Slytherin table. Regulus waved discreetly at him.
Andromeda smiled at him and Bellatrix nodded. But Narcissa was a little sad. She did smile however as he caught her eye.
Harry sat down at the Gryffindor table between his friends.
" Look at that. You are in Gryffindor." Sirius smirked. " Well, you guys need looking after. Merlin knows what kind of stupid things you get yourself into if I didn't help." Harry shrugged causing Sirius to glare.
" Will you ever let me have the last word?" He pleaded. Harry frowned thoughtfully upon the question. " Never." He grinned back causing Sirius to grumble into his food.
" Good. It's finally nice to see someone who can curb that mutt here at Hogwarts." Harry looked up to the voice and his eyes fell on a sandy blonde wizard who had a smile on his face. A familiar face. Neville Longbottom's face.
" Frank Longbottom." The boy extended his hand. Harry smiled as he shook his hand. " Harry Potter." He introduced himself. He then pointed towards a pretty brunette next to him. " Alice McKinnon." He introduced the girl.
Harry smiled and took her outstretched hand and kissed her knuckles.
" Pleasure, Ms McKinnon. Harry Potter." He introduced himself.
The girl smiled at him. ' So this is Neville's mother,' he thought.
Alice then pointed to the girl sitting across them. " That is my twin. Marlene McKinnon." She explained. Harry bowed his head in greeting. The girl smiled at him and waved back. She had blonde hair unlike her sister but the very same grey eyes and facial features.
Harry went back to his food. He subtly glanced towards the Slytherin table. Or most particularly the group of boys that was seated near the middle of the table.
Lucius Malfoy, Rudolphus Lestrange, Rabastan Lestrange, Theodore Nott, Corban Yaxley, Walden McNair, Thomas Avery Jr, Gordan Goyle, Victor Crabbe.
All the major players of Tom's inner circle from his time.
Harry's hand twitched ever so slightly. If he could, he would bury all of them alive, but that was not possible.
" Not yet." He whispered. " Not yet." He held himself back.
Harry noticed James stiffen in his seat. He followed his brother's eyes and his breath caught in his chest as he saw his mother for the first time. The flaming red hair, brilliant green eyes. The very same eyes that he was known to have.
" James. You are drooling." Harry hissed. James shut his mouth with a snap.
" She looks prettier each day." James sighed. Harry chuckled.
" Come on. Pull yourself together." He grinned as he slapped his back.
" Don't make a fool of yourself. Wait for a day at least. Just don't go and bombard her with the stupid scoring techniques that you call your 'charming side'." Harry indicated with air quotes.
The plates were cleared and the students were well fed. Sirius nudged Harry as he pointed to the staff table.
" I hope you all enjoyed the hearty meal, courtesy of the wonderful house-elves of Hogwarts." It was Dumbledore. He stood near his seat, with his purple starry robes, pointed hat and that damn twinkle in his blue eyes.
" I know that you are all tired, courtesy of a very long journey so I won't take much of your time." Dumbledore continued, noticing the grumblings of the older years and the yawns of the younger ones.
" The prefects will lead you to your respective common rooms. You will be shown into your dorms as well. Any problems, you are free to approach your head of the house for help." He pointed towards his staff.
" Classes will begin tomorrow. And I hope that all of you do well in your classes." He smiled. " Now off to bed. It's late." He clapped as the students and professors stood up and gradually left the Great Hall.
Harry walked out of the hall but bumped into someone in his ignorance. " Sorry." He apologized and continued walking when he felt a wand pressed into his stomach.
Harry stopped as did the noise around him. He observed James and Sirius flick their wands into their hands. Many students stopped to watch what was happening.
" Watch where you are going, blood traitor." Harry looked up into the face of Lucius Malfoy. His eyes were red with anger and his brow twitched ever so slightly so did his wand. He was itching to curse Harry.
Lucius was joined by all the other junior death eaters he had counted on earlier.
Harry was about to raise his hand when the wand was pressed harder into his sternum.
" Don't even think about it." The newly ascended Malfoy Lord growled. The other lackeys of Malfoy raised their wands as well.
" You will pay for what you did to my father, blood traitor. You will count your days. I will make you suffer." He growled.
" Ok. This is getting annoying." Harry chimed suddenly, taking many by surprise. He started to laugh.
" Come on. Really." He laughed again causing Lucius to frown.
" What is so funny?" He demanded.
Harry didn't reply, still laughing. He then waved his hand. " Ok. Ok. I'll stop." He snorted again.
" Your father said the same thing, Malfoy," Harry said calmly.
" Your father made the same mistake of taking on the wrong set of people. He paid for it. " Harry shrugged.
" Now you are doing the same thing. Are you sure that your family doesn't have a death wish?" He chuckled, causing the Malfoy lord to become red in his face.
" Let me tell you once again, Lucius Malfoy. This is a very bad idea." Harry murmured though it was heard by most of the others.
Lucius smirked. " And what will you do?" He questioned.
" I have my friends around me. They have their wands drawn, while you have a bit of a problem here." He drawled.
Harry chuckled. " Silly ickle baby Malfoy." Harry mocked.
" Let me tell you something, Malfoy. Take it as you want. No problem." Harry shrugged. " A wand isn't a solution to every single problem." He said and before the blonde could speak another word, Harry had grabbed the boy's wrist before turning him around. A small kick behind his knee and he dropped to the floor. Harry grabbed his twisted wrist and held Malfoy's wand under his chin.
Dead silence was met with his actions. The Slytherin boys reeled back in shock and surprise.
" Go on, Lord Malfoy." Harry mocked as he examined his fingers casually with the struggling man near his feet.
" I thought that you wanted to say something." Harry prodded further.
Lucius screeched in pain as his hand was twisted obscenely. The bigoted purebloods were so up their arse in their superiority and brandishing a wand that they forget to work on the physical condition of their body. They have zero workability and zero pain tolerance.
" I don't give a shit about you or your family, Lucius. And that applies to every single one of you." Harry spoke up loudly.
" You mind your business. I mind mine. But if you ever dare lift a wand against my family, I will curse you shits back at your fathers' pathetic loins that you were spawned from." Harry growled.
Harry pushed the blonde down. He stepped back and turned and walked away in the direction of the Gryffindor common room.
" You did well," James said as he came to a stop next to him.
Harry snorted. " I tried extremely hard to hold myself back. Fucking scumbag." He growled. James placed a hand on his shoulder.
" Let it go, Harry." He whispered.
The boy finally calmed himself.
" Now let's go and get some rest," James said and led Harry to the common room.
" Huh," Harry observed the entire room.
" Guess some things never change." He ground out. James gestured for him to follow.
They made their way up the very familiar stairs and entered their assigned dorm.
Harry quickly changed and was on his bed as soon as possible. He let out a tired yawn. " Night, brother," Harry whispered.
James smiled. " Night, Harry." He whispered back but he knew that he was out like a log.
&&&--
Harry joined the other boys for breakfast the next morning after his workout.
"Good morning, boys." He greeted and received similar greetings in return.
He piled up his plate with food and started eating, his eyes roaming over the place, searching for something or anything off for that matter. Those foolish boys won't stop until they get back at him. They were humiliated yesterday or more like Lucius was humiliated and he would certainly try to get back at him.
Professor McGonagall went about distributing the schedules to the students.
"Ok. Charms with the Puffs. Let's go." Remus stood up followed by the other boys and they started walking to the classroom.
"It seems like the gits aren't happy with you, Harry," Peter whispered, nodding towards the boys at the Slytherin table glaring furiously at him.
"That may be the understatement of the century, Wormtail." James snickered.
"Hello, Harry." Harry smiled as Narcissa waved at him. "Hello, Narcissa." Harry wished her back but frowned as the girl pouted.
"Is it too much to ask for you to call me, Cissa?" She questioned.
"But your name is Narcissa isn't it?" Harry questioned, his voice laced with confusion.
Narcissa shook her head with a sigh.
"Just shut up and call me Cissa, will you." She snapped, causing Harry to backtrack.
"Fine. Fine. Cissa." He called, not wanting to anger the young woman. He received a beaming smile in return.
"That is better. I'll see you later, Harry." She walked away, leaving a very confused young man behind.
"What was that all about?" Harry questioned his brother. James smirked.
" Oh, nothing. Absolutely nothing at all." He walked into the classroom.
The group took their seats at the end of the classroom. The class gradually started filling with the other students. Harry watched Lily enter and sit at the first desk.
"I am going to ask her out today," James whispered as Professor Flitwick entered the class and began taking a roll call.
Harry shook his head." Do whatever the hell you want. For god's sake though don't embarrass yourself." Harry pleaded. James nodded resolutely. "Absolutely. Today she is going to accept." He whispered.
"Ok class." Professor Flitwick gathered the attention of the students. "This year, we will be learning to cast the spells wordlessly." He explained.
"Silent casting is the curriculum for this year and most of your classes will be spent learning to cast those spells silently. That will be the norm for all the classes this year." He finished.
"Now we will begin with the simple 'Lumos' charm. So, I would like it if you all took out your wands." His words were followed by the students who were excited to get started.
"Now some of you might find it difficult, but I urge you to keep trying and follow my instructions. You will succeed in no time." He said.
"The first step in the process of casting without verbalizing is concentration. The more you concentrate, the better and quicker your results will be." He explained.
"You know the result of the Lumos charm, don't you?" He received nods in return.
"I want all of you to visualize the result of the spell. Think of the process where the wand lights up." He explained.
"Now I want you to picture the entire process in your mind. The lighting up of your wand tip. And then, I want all of you to cast the spell in your head, simultaneously along with imagining the end process. Concentrate very hard." He explained.
It took a few minutes, but everyone managed to produce lights easily.
Flitwick was ecstatic.
"Well done, class." He praised his students.
"We have the next class the day after tomorrow. So, I want all of you to try the disarming charm and the colour changing charm." He said and received nods from the class.
"Good. You can leave." He nodded and the class piled out of the room.
"That was a bit easy." Sirius piped.
"That is because it was only the Lumos charm. Wait till you get to the disarmers and stunning spells. It's very difficult." Harry explained.
"I'll be back." James rushed forward. There were a lot of students in front of them. James approached Lily.
"Hey Lily," James spoke up from behind and froze. Lily and her friend, Marlene, seemed to be stuck. They were trying to separate their hands, but it wasn't happening.
Lily glared furiously at James.
"What kind of sick joke is this, Potter?" She spat. "Have you made this a norm every day?" She questioned.
"What kind of sick pleasure do you get from troubling us?" She asked. "Every year, you get into the same nonsense. Don't you feel tired of this?" She questioned.
"Lily...it." James was interrupted by Lily again.
"I don't want to hear it. You and your sick games. Just go ahead and drop dead, Potter. You will save your family from embarrassment." James reeled back as if he was struck. His eyes widened at her words and he stepped back.
"I...uh.I am sorry." He whispered and turned back.
Harry's temper exploded. She might be his mother, but that was going too far. He stepped forward only to be held back by James.
"It's fine brother. Let it go." He whispered and walked away from the place.
"Moony. Go after him." Harry nodded towards James.
The area was very silent. Harry turned back to the girl in question and she hastily took a step back along with many others behind her when they saw the green glowing eyes. They burnt with anger.
Harry's breathing was laboured. He shook with anger.
"It's a good thing that he likes you. It's a very good thing that he told me to leave you alone. If it had been left to me, I would have cursed you." Harry snarled, causing the girl to pale.
"He might be annoying, but if you think for a second that he is an embarrassment to my family, you are mistaken." He took a step forward, causing the girl to take a step back. Harry frowned as he felt another magical presence and signature where the girls were stuck. He slowly looked over to the audience until his eyes found the culprit.
Greasy hair, hooked nose. The very familiar magical signature.
Harry flicked his wand to his hand and with a wave, he summoned the boy responsible for this mess.
He punched the boy in his face, causing the boy to collapse and his nose started to bleed.
"Tell her who did it, Snivellus." Harry spat. Snape trembled under his gaze. He had heard of what this boy could do.
"It….it was me." He admitted, not meeting Harry's eyes.
"I watched Potter approach Lily. I discreetly used a sticking charm on the two of them. Potter arrived at the exact moment I had planned." He confessed.
Harry reached forward to punch him once more, but Sirius and Peter held him back.
Harry took a deep breath and rounded on Lily. She looked extremely guilty.
"I had heard a lot about you. He couldn't stop singing your praises." He explained.
"I didn't expect you to be shallow-minded. Chewing his head off for all his mischief, it's one thing. But what you said, it's beyond forgivable." He shook his head.
"Do you even have an idea of the number of offers he gets every year for his hand in marriage?" Harry questioned her.
"He doesn't even bother opening them," Harry said and it was true. He had seen the number of Marriage proposals James received.
"I don't even know what he saw in you if you don't even bother to check for the facts before letting out your anger. If the words you used were so hurtful that a boy I had never seen lost his smile and almost cried, I don't even know what to say. I apologize for all his actions till now. I will see that he doesn't bother you anymore. Do try to forgive him if you can?" Harry snarked sarcastically before leaving the place.
"You went too far, Evans." Sirius shook his head. "It was a good thing that Harry never crosses James's words. It would have been very bad for you." He shuddered.
"Just leave him alone, Evans. You pushed too far." He and Peter walked away leaving a guilty and upset Lily behind.
Lily collapsed to the ground and tears started to flow freely from her eyes.
Marlene patted her shoulder.
"Don't cry, Lily. It will be fine." She tried to calm the girl down.
"I was so cruel. I was a bitch." She whispered. Marlene didn't bother saying otherwise.
"Yes, you were. You were a bitch that moment. But you have to let it go. We will do something about it." Marlene consoled her best friend.
"He is going to hate me. I never did get the chance to say that I like him too, but now he will hate me." She sobbed.
Marlene shook her head. Her friend had developed a crush on James two years back. Yes, she would get annoyed most of the time for all the things they do, but she did like James. Lily for all her qualities was extremely quick to temper. She never thinks things through before firing words at people when she is angry. Today was another such case.
"We will do something. For now, let's leave him be." Marlene whispered as she hugged her friend.

Harry knew where James was. He walked to the place that James had told him about. Much like him, James too would sit down by the Black Lake when he is upset.
Harry walked towards his brother quietly and dropped onto the ground. James looked up to the clear sky above.
"Am I such a disappointment, Harry?" James questioned. Harry's heart broke when he heard how dejected James felt.
"You are not, brother. You are probably the best son any parents can ask for. The best brother I could ask for. And from what I know, you would become the best father a son could ever ask for." Harry explained gently.
James chuckled without any humour in his voice. "I feel disappointed, Harry. I feel like I am a huge pain in the arse." He choked.
Harry closed the distance between the two and put an arm around his shoulder.
"I do agree with the second one. You are a pain in the arse." Harry joked and received a chuckle from his brother.
"But you are not a disappointment. Never let anyone say otherwise." Harry calmly answered.
The two didn't speak for some time, enjoying the silence surrounding the Black Lake.
"I won't bother her again," James spoke up. "If she is so repulsed by me, I won't even try to look at her. Let's concentrate on school now. And probably Quidditch." The brothers chuckled.
"Mother will be happy to know that I won't pull any pranks this year," James spoke.
"Well, there is always next year." Harry shrugged.
"If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't ever believe that I married her and had a kid." James grinned.
"Though, I don't think that is the case this time," James whispered sadly.
"Come on. Let's go and get some lunch." James stood up and pulled Harry up.
"Come quickly, I am starving," James whined, causing Harry to chuckle.
"I don't know how your stomach can take so much and still ask for more. It is like a bottomless pit." Harry snorted.
James slapped the back of Harry's head as the other not chuckled.
"Shut up." He groaned.

"What do you think, Fawkes?" Dumbledore questioned his loyal friend. His thoughts were occupied by two topics these days. Tom Riddle. Harry Potter.
Harry Potter wouldn't have been a concern if not for the fact that he was Lord Peverell.
Peverell. The stories that the name carried. The power that the name held. The legendary trinkets of the Peverells. The Deathly Hallows.
His entire youth was spent lusting after these articles. He along with his best friend did everything possible to locate them.
It was always a dead end. Search wherever you need, you would come up blank.
Dumbledore remembered those days as fresh as they had happened. Gellert Grindelwald.
The infamous Gellert Grindelwald. The two of them, foolish in their youth, had set about gathering these articles. They had a vision set for the magical world, where the magical sit above everyone else. Even on top of the muggles.
How foolish they had been. The vision was impossible. Dumbledore did break off their friendship when Gellert left the country, but that was because he was brought back to the earth by the death of his beloved Ariana. His lovely sister.
Dumbledore still blamed himself for the loss of his sister. He knew for a fact that even though he didn't directly kill her, it was him that was the protagonist that led to her death.
He had given up all those dreams and taken up the position as a Professor at Hogwarts. He found a passion for teaching kids and he had come to cherish the job in his life. Hogwarts had become his home after he and Aberforth, his brother, had stopped talking.
The next he heard of Gellert was that he was involved in the War led by Hitler, and was fighting the war on the magical side.
Dumbledore had been disgusted with Hitler's actions. The level to which a man will stoop to gain power. He was ashamed. This was what he was planning for. The death, the tortures, the pain, the loss.
It was then that Dumbledore decided to end this. The legendary duel between the two of them at Berlin is still talked about.
It was after his friend was defeated that Dumbledore realized how far Gellert had come. The wand that he had won that day. The Death Stick. The Elder Wand.
He had been surprised that Gellert had managed to find it. He had kept the wand till date until he arrived.
The wand refused to respond to him. It repelled him. It didn't even let him touch it.
That quelled any doubts about the new young man's identity. Though he never would doubt Lord Potter's words. The man was as honourable as they come.
"Should I speak to the boy about this wand?" He pondered.
How can he let a young man of barely fifteen know about this wand?
The portraits had delivered messages referring to the boy that was a cause for concern.
The boy was fearless and dangerous. His stance excluded confidence. Even with a wand pressed to his stomach, he didn't quell nor flinch.
Then there was another quality of his. His eyes glowed when he was angry. Now that is a very rare ability. Only a few can wield such power that it manifests through their eyes.
That raised another concern. Can he give a massive power booster to a very powerful person?
He had heard of the reports of the professors. Harry Potter was a prodigy. There wasn't a thing the boy couldn't do. The teachers had only praises to sing.
"I will wait. I'd like to watch him a bit more. I need to decide if I am doing the right thing by handing this over to the boy." Dumbledore thought.
"I need to see if he truly is capable of wielding this wand." He ran his hand through his beard, thinking of the many possibilities that were now available to him.
--&&&--
"No Lucius. This madness has gone long enough." Rudolphus shook his head.
"We have seen what he can do, Lucius. We are no match for him. Don't forget that his status is much higher than we can ever hope to be. He is untouchable." Avery said, causing the others to nod.
Lucius frowned. He had only been making plans to oust the new Potter, but it was only that. Plans. For all the anger and rage that was flowing through his body, he had seen enough to know that it would be better if that boy was left alone.
But that didn't mean that he would get away with it.
It was during this process that his eyes fell on the three Black sisters. Or more particularly the Blonde girl. He had set his eyes on the girl. She was very beautiful. He had asked his father to approach the girl for a contract.
Lord Black had put a stop to his plans. And now, his father was dead. He suddenly got an idea. An idea that would give him what he wants. Revenge and Desire.
"I think I have the perfect plan." He whispered as the others leaned forward.
"Them." He pointed.
"Are you crazy, Lucius?" Avery yelped.
"Do you think we would get away with what you have planned? Your lust for that girl is blinding you, Lucius. You want to throw away your life?" Avery hissed.
"The Blacks will destroy us, Lucius. Do you remember that you are the last of your line?" Mcnair smirked.
"You can go on all you want. I will have a taste of her." Lucius licked his lips.
"Are you guys in?" He asked them.
"What do we get?"Mcnair questioned curiously.
Lucius smirked.
" You can have her after I am done with her." He smirked as they lit up at that. He knew that was where Macnair and the rest of the boys were going. He didn't need to think twice. He would have married the girl, but if the bitch doesn't want him, he would make sure to spoil her for every other man.
"Let me think of a plan. We will pounce when we are ready." He whispered, his eyes falling on his prey that was oblivious to all his schemes.
