Chapter 1: Celebrating Isshin Kurosaki's Birthday
Ichigo, Grimmjow, Izaya, and Keigo were at the mall as they were shopping for Ichigo's dad's birthday today.
"Do you think he wants some jewelry, Ichigo?" Izaya asked his roommate.
"Sure! Just small though. Where do you want to look, babe?" Ichigo asked his lover, Grimmjow.
"Hmm? What does he like, honey?" Grimmjow asked.
"Let's look at some hoodies, since it's the cold season, my dad loves to stay warm." Ichigo said.
"Alright love. We'll meet y'all back here in one hour." Grimmjow said.
The roommates all nodded as they gave each other a fist bump and went to any store to find Isshin something for his birthday.
"Hey babe, after this can we maybe check out the crystal shop?" Keigo asked.
"Sure! I've been wanting to buy a few more. They're fun to collect." Izaya said as he smiled at his lover.
Keigo smiled back as he saw some jewelry that Isshin might like.
Ichigo found a large hoodie that says "Da Man" on the front, it was grey with white stripes.
"You'll think he'll love this one, babe?" Ichigo asked Grimmjow.
"Whoa, hell yeah. Get it love." Grimmjow said.
"Hey Grimmjow, glad to see you around here." Said a voice.
Grimmjow turned around as he gave Menoly a fist bump.
"What up, girl? Sorry I missed your birthday, but how was it?" Grimmjow asked.
"It was great, thanks for asking. But a card and a birthday wish is fine, really. Oh and being with my girl, Loly.~" Menoly said as she blushed.
Grimmjow grinned.
"Well happy belated birthday. Today's my dad's birthday." Ichigo replied.
"Cool! Happy birthday to your dad. Anyways yeah go ahead and buy that, literally we're having a winter sale so buy whatever you want. It'll be half off." Menoly said.
"Cool! Thanks" Ichigo said.
"You're the best, Menoly." Grimmjow said as he and his lover, Ichigo continued looking around the shop they're in.
Izaya and Keigo had brought some jewelry for Isshin as they both walked inside the crystal shop.
"Hello hello! Welcome, please look around!" Sung-Sun said as she happily greeted them.
"Hey Sung-Sun, thank you so much." Izaya said as he and Keigo walked in.
Keigo looked at the crystal balls and the cord cutting wands as he felt interested in getting them.
"Hey Sung-Sun, sorry I'm late. My captain just wanted to make sure that I'll be safe." Said a voice.
Izaya turned around as he gasped seeing his friend Alice Akiko into the shop.
"No worries, thanks for letting me know." Sung-Sun said.
"A-Alice? Hey, you're working here?" Izaya asked.
"Hey Alice!" Keigo waved at her.
"Hello! Yes I am. It's part time for this season. Are y'all going to buy some more~?" Alice said.
"We're thinking about it, today's Isshin's birthday." Izaya said.
"Wait- Isshin? Like Ichigo's dad?!" Alice gasped.
"Yes, him. Former captain of squad ten." Izaya explained.
"Oh my goodness! Well happy birthday to him! Is he having a party?" Alice asked.
"I can text Ichigo and ask. We're just buying stuff for him." Izaya said as he smiled.
"Sweet! Anyways, go right ahead and look around. Let me know if you need anything." Alice said.
"Thanks so much!" The two lovers said.
Alice smiled as she took out her crystal book and began reading where she left off at.
"Dad isn't interested today. He said that he's going on a date with someone." Ichigo texted Izaya.
"I-! A date?! Who's he seeing~?" Izaya replied back.
"Old man won't tell me, I can probably ask my sisters since they usually talk to him more often since I've moved out." Ichigo said.
"Go for it! We're almost done." Izaya sent the text as he went up to Alice.
"So, are you feeling any better?" Izaya asked.
"Huh? Oh yes! I'm fine. Hanataro healed me a lot more, he's so worried about me, it's actually kinda cute." Alice giggled.
Izaya also giggled, "I mean, that's how he is. He loves helping people and healing others."
"I know. It's nice of him, but I'm fine. My ankles are all healed and the same for my head. Also look what Renji got me." Alice said as she held up a small fuzzy black cat keychain.
"Whoa, that's adorable. He gave me a butterfly keychain. He thought I'd like it." Izaya giggled.
"Aww, your brother in law is so sweet. Wait? He and Rukia aren't married yet are they?" Alice asked.
"Not yet, but I know it's coming really soon.~" Izaya said.
Alice giggled.
"Yo, love birds, ready to go? Yo what up, red!" Grimmjow said happily as he waved at Alice.
"Grimmjow! Ichigo! Hi!" Sung-Sun waved.
"Hey Sung-Sun." Grimmjow waved back.
"Alice, are you feeling a lot better?" Ichigo asked.
Alice laughed a bit, "Yes. I'm okay really. I've been healed, given medicine, food, water, bandaids, some relaxing music, and warm baths."
"Whoa, squad four really did take good care of you." Ichigo said.
Alice giggled some more.
"Whoa, these are pretty rocks." Grimmjow said.
"Rocks? They're crystals" Sung-Sun said.
"Are y'all buying my dad some? I mean he would love it but he won't do anything. But my sister's will." Ichigo said.
"Aww, really? Well maybe later. We'll come back here later on." Izaya said.
"Alright! Thanks for stopping by." Sung-Sun said as she waved at her friends.
Alice did the same as she smiled, taking a sip from her tea.
"Alright, so my sisters told me that dad isn't really having a party. He's going on a date with somebody." Ichigo explained.
"A date? Yo, I mean congrats but who's he seeing?" Grimmjow asked.
"I don't know babe. I haven't spoken to him since I moved out of my place." Ichigo said.
"Is it okay for him to date? I mean…..wouldn't that upset your deceased mom?" Keigo asked.
"I'm sure my mom wants him to be happy. Dad still loves her, but he has been thinking about dating again." Ichigo said.
"So, do you just want to drop these off and then head home? Or maybe catch a movie?" Izaya said.
"Yep! Fun Friday plans." Ichigo said.
"Hell, I'm down." Grimmjow said.
"Let's do it. After we wrap these up." Keigo said.
The boys all laughed as they walked out of the mall, heading back home to wrap up the gifts and then headed to Ichigo's place.
"So, where do you think he's at, love?" Grimmjow asked.
"He could be out working or seeing his date. Who knows." Ichigo said as he turned the doorknob he gasped when he realized that it was unlocked.
"Hey! Who left the door-Huh?" Ichigo stared at somebody he knew from the soul society.
"Hmm? Ichigo! Welcome home!" Rangiku said as she went up to him and gave him a huge hug.
"Whaaaa- Babe is that-?" Keigo looked at Rangiku and Izaya.
"Rangiku Matsumoto. That'll be her name, my love.~" Izaya said.
"Rangiku! Stop! Let go of me!" Ichigo pleaded.
"Huh? Oh sorry! I just dropped by to see your dad but I guess he's still out and about." Rangiku said as she let go of Ichigo.
"Yeah he is. He has a date tonight." Ichigo said as he fixed his hair and shirt.
"He does!? Well congrats! I wanna meet this beautiful woman. Oh- don't get me wrong, your mom is very pretty too! I would've loved to be her friend." Rangiku said.
Ichigo chuckled, "Thank you. I appreciate that."
"Hey Ichigo, you're home," Karin said.
"Hi big brother!" Yuzu said.
"Hey girls, what's up?" Ichigo waved at them.
"We're just making some tea and ramen. And your friend here happened to stop by." Yuzu said.
"Yeah! And plus I brought your dad a gift." Rangiku said.
"Thanks, we went shopping too." Ichigo said.
"Dad would have appreciated it. So we'll make sure when he comes home he'll open them right away." Karin said.
"Cool. Anyways, it was nice talking to you, but we're going to catch a movie. See ya." Ichigo said.
Keigo waved at Rangiku as he blushed looking at her.
"Oh hi! Tell your sister I said 'Hi'!" Rangiku said.
"Thanks! I will." Keigo said.
"See you Rangiku, and don't drink too much sake." Izaya said as he winked at her.
Rangiku laughed.
"See ya little ones." Grimmjow waved at Karin and Yuzu.
"Bye bye!" Yuzu said as she closed the door back and locked it.
"Babe, do they know that she's a soul reaper?" Grimmjow asked.
"Yeah, well Karin knows since she can see ghosts. But they're okay with it." Ichigo said.
The roommates headed back to the mall to catch a movie.
Isshin came home from work as he unlocked the door.
"We gotta keep it down, I don't want to wake them up." Isshin said.
Ryuken nodded as he followed inside with his lover.
Isshin turned on the light as he saw some cupcakes made and a few gifts on the table.
"Awww, my girls are so kind." Isshin said.
"Well, it is your birthday, love. Also I see someone else on the couch." Ryuken pointed out.
Isshin looked over as he saw a tall figure laying on the couch with the remote in her hand.
He walked over and gasped seeing his former lieutenant, Rangiku Matsumoto.
"N-No way…she's my former lieutenant…." Isshin said.
"Do you wish to wake her up and send her back to the soul society?" Ryuken asked.
"Nah. I'm sure when we get back she'll be gone by then. Anyways, let me open the gifts real fast then we'll be on our way.~" Isshin said as he lifted up Ryuken's chin and locked his lips onto his.
Ryuken blushed as he pulled him close to him, kissing him back.
Yuzu yawned quietly as she rubbed her eyes and lazily opened them.
She saw two figures locking their lips onto each other as she yawned, laying back down.
"Alright love, no more. Your daughters will wake up and might not be okay with this." Ryuken said.
"Did you tell your son?" Isshin asked.
"No. We need to try and tell our kids someday. This secret is eating me up inside." Ryuken said.
"Yes love I agree. We'll come up with something." Isshin said.
He opened the gifts as he read the cards and smiled at them. He and Ryuken took one cupcake as Isshin left "Thank you" sticky notes on the counter as he left with his lover.
The two headed to a restaurant to eat some food there as they had their seats ready for them.
"So, we've been dating for a whole year now, how come you haven't told your kids?" Ryuken asked.
"I mean cause they always see me as a womanizer. Yuzu wants me to date again, but I think she wants me to be with a woman. She doesn't know that I'm attracted to both." Isshin said as he drank some of his red wine.
"Yes, same for me. I mean for my son, he's dating a soul reaper." Ryuken said.
"What? How'd you know?" Isshin asked.
"He told me. I was working and that's when he texted me about it. I told him I'm okay with it." Ryuken said.
"Well that's good! I mean my son likes both too. He has been with women before but I'm still getting used to seeing him with a guy who was his former enemy." Isshin said.
"People can change my love." Ryuken said as he sipped his soda.
Isshin smiled as he smiled at the waitress who served them their dinner.
"Thank you so much." Isshin said.
"Thank you." Ryuken also said.
The two looked at each other as they smiled and began eating their dinner.
A few hours later, the roommates came out of the movies as they were laughing.
"Dude, that movie was hilarious as hell. We gotta see it again." Izaya said.
"No shit! I loved it!" Grimmjow repiled.
"We will guys, maybe I'll bring my sisters with us next time." Ichigo said.
"Please do. Anyways, ready to go home?" Izaya asked.
"Uh.. actually you two go on ahead, I want to hang out with Grimmjow.~" Ichigo said.
Izaya and Keigo smiled at them as the two headed home.
"Whoa.~ What's this~? Miss having some alone time with me~?" Grimmjow asked as he got interrupted by a kiss.
Ichigo pushed Grimmjow to a tree as the two passionately kissed each other.
Grimmjow moaned into the kiss, tasting the popcorn in Ichigo's mouth.
"What's going on with you~? Wanna head home~? It's kinda cold to do it out here.~" Grimmjow whispered to Ichigo.
"I know, but…..just for a few more minutes then we'll head home.~" Ichigo said as he kissed Grimmjow's neck.
Grimmjow moaned as he bit his lips, pulling Ichigo close to him.
"You're lucky I'm not into some kinky shit, I'll be punishing you by now.~" Grimmjow said.
"Yeah yeah.~ Aren't your friends into some~?" Ichigo asked.
"Mmmm.~ Yeah but, theirs involves blood, knives, candle wax, and ropes.~" Grimmjow said.
"Whoa.~ They're in pain then. Sorry but that aint me.~" Ichigo said.
Grimmjow chuckled, as he let his lover do what he wanted.
A few moments later Isshin and Ryuken sat down on a bench, looking up at the stars.
"I hope your birthday is still going well, my love." Ryuken said.
"Very much so. I'm glad I'm able to go on a date with you tonight." Isshin said.
"Since this park is dead as a graveyard, shall we?" Ryuken said as he got on his lover and locked his lips onto his and began passionately kissing him.
Isshin moaned into the kiss as he kissed him back.
Ichigo stopped kissing Grimmjow's neck as he peeked over.
He gasped recognizing the hair and the voices.
"Ryuken, let's take this home or to our car.~" Isshin said.
"Yes of course my love. Let's go, Isshin." Ryuken said.
Ichigo looked at his lover Grimmjow as he just tried to follow his dad.
"Babe? Hold on. Wait for me." Grimmjow said.
"Yo dad." Ichigo said.
Isshin froze.
Ryuken turned around as he gasped, seeing Ichigo.
"Ichigo. Hold on, this isn't what you think-" Ryuken tried to explain.
"Shut up. I'm talking to my old man. Dad." Ichigo said.
Isshin finally turned around, "Hey for the presents. We'll be heading home now."
"Don't play dumb. Have you been dating Ryuken all this time?" Ichigo asked.
Everyone went silent.
"Yes. I was going to tell you and your sisters but I was scared how y'all would react…." Isshin explained.
"Really? How do you think mom will feel?" Ichigo asked.
"I'm sure she wants me to be happy, Ichigo. Yes I want to date but-" Isshin stopped.
"Stop. Ichigo, my dad is dating your dad. That's all." Uryu chimed in with Nemu.
Ichigo and Grimmjow both turned around.
"Are you okay with this?" Ichigo asked his close friend.
"Yes. My dad told me a few months ago and I accepted it. He accepts me dating a soul reaper." Uryu said.
"Thank you, my son." Ryuken said.
Ichigo nodded, "I see. Thanks. But I need to head home to relax my nerves. Happy birthday dad."
Ichigo walked off with his head down. Not saying another word to anyone else.
Grimmjow followed his lover.
Uryu sighed, "We'll talk to him and make this a lot better. Sorry to chime in. Let's go honey." Uryu said.
Nemu nodded as she followed Uryu back home.
"Love? Ryuken hugged Isshin.
"Let's just go love. We'll figure something out." Isshin said.
Everyone went home as everyone was still silent as the dead.
