Chapter 2: Ichigo's Understanding Of His Dad Dating Ryuken

Ichigo tossed and turned nearly all night on his bed. He couldn't sleep.

He finally opened his eyes, and rubbed his forehead. He looked over at his lover, Grimmjow who was fast asleep.

Ichigo sighed as he grabbed his phone and texted his roommates.

"Can I talk to you guys? I can't sleep….." Ichigo texted them in a group chat.

"What's up?" Keigo replied back.

Strawbae: "I…..While me and Grimmjow were at the park, I saw my dad and his date…" Ichigo accidentally sent the message as he saw Keigo already typing.

FunnyManK: "Whoa! Who is it~?" Keigo sent the message.

Strawbae: "Uryu's Dad! I don't know what to feel. I mean I'm happy that my dad is dating but why someone like him?" Ichigo replied.

FunnyManK: "Well, it's a shock, plus you and Uryu are friends. I don't think he 'hates' soul reapers any more." Keigo said.

Strawbae: "Yeah you're right…I feel really shitty. Any advice?" Ichigo said.

FunnyManK: "We'll head over to your dad's place tomorrow and tell him you're 'sorry' you were just in shock." Keigo said.

StrawBae: "Thanks man. Sorry for waking you." Ichigo said.

FunnyManK: "No worries. Izaya is taking a shower so yeah.~" Keigo said.

Ichigo saw the text as he smiled and put down his phone as he inhaled.

He then grabbed his phone again as he texted his close friend, Uryu.

"Yo, sorry for waking you but do you know that your dad is dating my dad?" Ichigo sent the text as he waited for a reply.

"Go to sleep man, and yes. I'm okay with it. Why?" Uryu replied back.

Ichigo began to sweat, "I'm just wondering. But that's good you're okay with it. Do you think our moms will be okay with it?"

"I mean if my parents had divorced, I'm sure my mom wouldn't care. She was a supporter of everyone so yeah." Uryu said.

"Yeah, that's what I think too. Alright thanks man. Sorry for waking you up." Ichigo replied.

"I know you're freaking out about this, but really. It's not a big deal. I'm okay with it." Uryu said.

"I mean like what if they get married….We'll be brothers in laws!" Ichigo replied as he drank some water and ended up choking.

Grimmjow was alarmed as he woke up and hugged Ichigo.

"Yo yo, babe, breathe breathe. What yer doing up chokin' on water?" Grimmjow asked.

"I was texting my friend…..I was wondering if we can maybe go to my dad's place and see him? I mean- well I want to apologize to him." Ichigo said.

"Yeah, We can do that then. You know yer dad loves you, sweetie. He wants you to be happy. I'm sure he wants you to be happy for him too." Grimmjow said.

Ichigo nodded as he looked at Grimmjow.

Grimmjow smiled as he moved closer to him and passionately kissed him.

Ichigo blushed as he moaned as he rubbed Grimmjow's back.

"No no, we can't. Izaya and Keigo are sleeping." Ichigo said.

"Our rooms are soundproof, remember~? Are you sure?" Grimmjow asked as he stroked Ichigo's cheek.

"Yes babe, maybe when I'm in a better mood, we'll make love to each other." Ichigo said.

Grimmjow nodded as he cuddled Ichigo close to him.

"I love you, my strawberry-babe.~" Grimmjow said as he kissed his cheek and fell back asleep.

"I love you too, my blue panther.~" Ichigo said. He immediately checked his phone.

"Don't be dumb, Ichigo. They're only dating. It's been a year too. But in the near future, we'll see. Now go to sleep." Uryu sent the text Ichigo back.

Ichigo shook his head as he laughed for a bit then headed to sleep.

Isshin was also in bed with Ryuken, who was fast asleep.

He sat up as he headed downstairs to Misaki's shrine.

"Hey my love, how are you? I know I haven't talked to you in a while but I have a confession to tell you-" Isshin was interrupted by a moan.

"Giiiin~ That tickles, you silly goose." Rangiku said in her sleep.

Isshin stood up as he just stared at her. "Oi, do you mind?"

Rangiku was startled by Isshin's voice as she woke up.

"Whaa! Wait, you're not my boyfriend." Rangiku said.

Isshin turned on the lamp.

Rangiku gasped, "Wait are you- No way! It's been so long! How are you?"

Isshin chuckled, "I've been well. My son moved out to live with his boyfriend and friends."

"Yeah! Izaya got married! Isn't that exciting? Anyways, happy birthday! I'm sorry to drop by like this, I just wanted to see you and give you your present and have some cupcakes." Rangiku said.

"I figured. Thanks for the present. I really loved it." Isshin said.

Rangiku giggled, " You're welcome. Oh my goodness, I better get back to the soul society."

"Yeah you must. I'll see you around when I can." Isshin said.

Rangiku noticed the sad tone in his voice as she turned around.

"Talk. I know something's bothering you." Rangiku said as she folded her arms.

Isshin took out a cigarette as he lit and inhaled it.

"Alright, so I went on a date and-" Isshin got interrupted by Rangiku's squeal.

"Eeek! How'd it go?! Are y'all going to date officially?! Can I meet her!?" Rangiku asked.

"Keep it down. And one at a time. It went great, yes we're official and no." Isshin said.

"Aww, why not? I need some new girl friends." Rangiku pouted.

"Except she isn't a lady. He's a guy." Isshin said as he inhaled the cigarette again.

"A guy? You like men too?" Rangiku asked.

"I like both. So does he. But we've been having a hard time telling our kids. Well he told his kid and he's okay with it. My son…." Isshin sighed.

"But wait, isn't Ichigo dating a guy too?" Rangiku asked.

"Yes. But while at the park, he saw me lip locking with my guy. Ichigo kinda freaked out and just went home." Isshin explained.

Rangiku nodded as she went up to him and put her hand on his shoulder.

"I think it's because he wasn't expecting you to date a guy. He misses his mom and probably doesn't know how your wife will feel." Rangiku said.

"Well I was talking to her till you moaned out some guy's name." Isshin said.

Rangiku turned red. "You heard that!? Oh my gosh I am so sorry! I'm away from the soul society so I usually think about Gin.~"

"Is that his name? It sounds plain." Isshin said.

"Oh hush. But look what I'm trying to say is that, have your son come over and have a talk with him." Rangiku said.

"Alright. I'll text him in the morning." Isshin said as he blew out the cigarette.

Rangiku smiled, "Did you also tell your daughters?"

"No, but again I will also tell them too. No more secrets in this house." Isshin said.

"Perfect! Anyways I'll leave in the morning, the cupcakes were really good." Rangiku said.

"Huh? Oh yeah. Yuzu loves to cook and bake. I hope she'll get that career job so she can be very successful." Isshin said.

Rangiku laid back down on the couch. "She will. Believe it.~"

Isshin smiled as he gave Rangiku a giant blanket to sleep in and some water and headed back to his room with Ryuken.

"Sorry I'm still out. I promise I'll be home in the morning." Rangiku warned Gin and Toshiro as she plugged in her phone to charge it as she fell back asleep.

Isshin sent Ichigo a text as he laid back and went back to sleep, cuddling his lover Ryuken.

The Next Morning

Grimmjow was taking shower as Ichigo had just woken up.

He saw that his phone was blinkin as he checked it.

His eyes widened as he read the text from his dad.

Isshin: "Son, we need to talk."

Ichigo fainted back onto the bed.

Grimmjow opened the door as he forgot to bring in some extra clothes to change.

He noticed that Ichigo was still 'asleep' on the bed.

"Babe, are we still going over to your dad's place?" Grimmjow asked.

Ichigo groaned as he opened his eyes and looked over at Grimmjow.

"Yes. Wait, you wanna come by too?" Ichigo asked.

"Yes. I just want to be there for you." Grimmjow replied.

"Alright. Let's get ready then." Ichigo said as he got out of the bed grabbing some clean clothes and heading into the restroom as Grimmjow closed the door.

Izaya woke up as he yawned and was hugged by Keigo.

"Hey love, want any breakfast?" Izaya asked.

"Mmmm.~ Can we eat out? I miss those.~" Keigo asked.

"You know what? I agree. We should normalize breakfast dates.~" Izaya replied.

"Yeah love. I agree. Want to get ready?" Keigo asked.

"Of course. I can't sleep anymore." Izaya said as he stretched and drank some water.

Keigo did the same as he went through his dresser to find some clothes to wear.

Izaya did the same as he saw Ichigo and Grimmjow were outside.

"Huh? I think Ichigo and Grimmjow are going somewhere." Izaya said.

Keigo looked out as he watched them walking.

"Want to text them?" Keigo asked.

"I will in a bit. Maybe they're going shopping for a few things." Izaya said.

Keigo smiled as he headed to the restroom and Izaya walked in also.

"I'm having anxiety, I hope he isn't too angry." Ichigo said.

"Just tell him you're 'sorry' I'm sure he'll forgive you." Grimmjow said.

Ichigo nodded as he gave Grimmjow a kiss on the cheek as the two continued to walk over to Ichigo's old home.

Isshin and Ryuken were outside as they both stood up.

Ichigo gasped as he began to sweat again.

"Hey dad…..can we talk?" Ichigo said.

"Sure son. I was about to call you, but come on in." Isshin said.

Ichigo gulped as he walked in with his lover Grimmjow.

They all sat in the living room. Rangiku was nowhere to be found.

The girls were still asleep.

"Son, I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I was…..afraid how you will feel about me dating a guy." Isshin said.

"What? No dad, it's not that. I mean I like guys too. Both guys and girls but I freaked out because you're dating Ryuken." Ichigo explained himself.

"But aren't you friends with my son? Uryu?" Ryuken asked.

"Yes." Ichigo said.

"And he's dating a soul reaper, correct? Do you know her?" Ryuken asked.

"Yes. We're close friends at the soul society." Ichigo said.

Ryuken nodded.

"Yeah son, I mean I know this is really different, but I've liked Ryuken for a while now. I was trying to pray to your mom." Isshin said.

"But how do you think she will feel?" Ichigo asked.

"There's a chance that she's okay with it. She does want me to be happy. I'm sure she wants you to be happy also. No matter who we are with." Isshin said.

Ichigo finally smiled, "Yeah dad. I agree. I'm sorry for freaking out last night."

Isshin stood up as he went up and hugged his son.

"Thank you, my boy. And thank you for the gifts. I really loved them." Isshin said.

"You're welcome sir. They were on sale so I hope you're okay with that." Grimmjow said.

"Very much so! Thank you. Want a cupcake, you two?" Isshin asked.

Ichigo and Grimmjow headed to the kitchen as they both took one.

"Dad, did you tell Yuzu and Karin?" Ichigo asked.

Isshin almost spit out his coffee.

"Tell us what?" Karin asked as she was awake with Yuzu.

"Oh hi Ichigo! Hi Grimmjow!" Yuzu said.

"Yes. I'm about to right now. For now, there will be no more secrets. Girls, I'm dating this guy right here. Meet Ryuken Ishida!" Isshin said.

"Yay! Hi! I'm Yuzu! It's a pleasure to meet you." Yuzu said.

"I'm Karin. Glad you can handle our goofy dad. Hope he isn't too much trouble." Karin said.

"Not at all. Thank you. It's nice to meet you all." Ryuken said.

"So Karin, Yuzu I was wondering if you two girls want to hang out with me and Grimmjow for a bit?" Ichigo asked.

"Sure! Hey, we should see a movie." Yuzu said.

Both Ichigo and Grimmjow smiled as they looked at each other and back at his sisters.

"That's a fun plan then!" Grimmjow said.

"Yay!" Both Karin and Yuzu said.

"Here ya go, just in case y'all want to buy anything for yourselves too." Isshin said as he winked at Ichigo giving him some cash.

"Thanks dad. We'll probably buy you more gifts." Ichigo chuckled.

Isshin also laughed as Ryuken just smiled.

Rangiku looked at the window as she smiled and opened the gate and headed back to the soul society.

Ichigo, Grimmjow, Yuzu, and Karin all walked to the mall to see the movie they saw last night.

"What do you want to do, my love?" Isshin asked Ryuken.

"Let's go on a breakfast date. I miss those while I was married to my wife." Ryuken said.

"You got it, sweetcakes.~" Isshin said as he and Ryuken walked out.
