While everyone is asleep during the early hours of September 12th 2001 at 3:00 AM in Arlington Virginia 12 year old Jason is awake while packing up his belongings in his bedroom quietly with a very upsetting look on his face trying not to wake his Uncle Max, the cat or his little sister Penny. So while taking the time to pack up his stuff Jason writes a letter to his sister while making sure she will able to read it.

Jason walks out his bedroom and enters his sister's bedroom and places a letter on the white nightstand next to the twin size bed, before exiting her bedroom Jason takes one last glance at his sister while Penny is sleeping curled up in a ball holding her stuffed bunny rabbit in her little arms as their Calico cat Aurora is sleeping next to Penny; Penny's face is red from all the crying yesterday and last night and her voice got hoarse as well.

There is a so pain, trauma and heartache all over the country while dealing the nasty attacks just happened yesterday, currently there is still a lot smoke and flames continue coming out from the west side of the Pentagon. Hours after the attacks on the Pentagon Jason and Penny learned from the Pentagon that the both of their parents were killed in the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon; the news has become very devastating for Jason and Penny. Penny asked her Uncle Max what was going on and Max explained to them about what was happening in the attacks that happened yesterday. After receiving the sad news Max called his family informing them that Andre and Andrea had died in the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon and someone is getting a hold on Penny's maternal relatives to inform them about the news.

Jason is blaming himself for not able to save his mom and dad yesterday even though he is a preteen and wishes he could fight off the enemy. And now with the true sad fact that Jason is running away from home for good he knows that Penny is going to get angry with him for abandoning her.

Jason leaves Penny's bedroom then he grabs his duffel bag along with his backpack and walks out through the front door after closing the door quietly. He starts walking the right leaving his home without anyone noticing as this is saying goodbye for good. Penny will never see or hear from her brother ever again while she continues to grow up.

Later on the sun has come up and it is about 7:00 AM in the morning. Aurora goes around the house meowing feeling very upset as she is calling out to Andre, Andrea and Jason and sadly no response. Penny wakes up in her bed, and then she notices the letter on her night stand. She sits up in her bed and starting to read the letter while recognizing her brother's handwriting in the process.

"Penny

If you're reading this letter it means that I ran away from home for good; I am never coming back as you will never see or hear from me. Even though others are going to be searching for me it is best not to come looking for me. With the fact that mom and dad are gone and that I am no longer there for you things are going to be different and hard. As you continue to grow up you will have a big feature ahead of you along with a good education; years later on I will imagine you will probably become a Police Officer while serving the law and protecting the law. I want you to take care of yourself and not let anything bad happen to you ever again. And I also understand if you get angry with me for leaving you. I will always love you for who you are and will always be my little sister.

Penny gets out of her bed while feeling distraught, scared, confused and angry realizing that her brother Jason just abandoned her. Now dealing with the death of her parents and being abandoned by her brother Jason Penny just lost her family and left to fend for herself.

Minutes later after Commander Max Keyes called the Police Department two kind police officers arrive over to the home and now starting to investigate of why Jason had run away. As soon the kind Officers start speaking with Max they ended up calling for NCIS and NCIS Agents are heading over.

So while Max is talking with the Police Officers Penny is hiding in her bedroom and currently she is looking at photos of her along with Cadmon and Jason while remembering all the memories she had with her brothers from over the years. Penny showed her Uncle Max the letter that Jason wrote for her before he left and as Commander Keyes was reading the letter he learns that Jason is never coming back and it is going to be really hard for Penny not to have her brother.

As Penny is in her bedroom she really wishes that her brother Cadmon could be here to comfort her and be there for her. Penny's older brother Cadmon was murdered in the USS Cole Bombing last October, his death took a toll on her and Penny never wants anyone to know that she lost a sibling.

Eventually Penny will know and understand what it is like to be an only child not having any siblings around and not having a sibling growing up will suck.
