Rachel leaned forward and rang the doorbell. After the incident with Quinn at school today the brunette had nothing but Quinn on her mind.

Rachel had planned to speak with Quinn after glee but the blonde never showed up.

She had been worried. So after glee she headed straight to the Puckermans which brings her to now.

The door finally opened revealing a shirtless Puck in boxers looking like he has done literally nothing but sleep all day.

For some reason that pissed Rachel off even more.

"Noah." Rachel said curtly.

"What's up?"

"I see you didn't go to school today."

"Yeah, so? I partied pretty hard last night. I needed to catch up on some z's."

"Noah, Quinn is pregnant. She's going to be giving birth soon. Why-"

"Woah! Chill. I already heard the riot act from Q this morning okay and just because I'm going to be a dad doesn't mean I can't have fun. I've got my pool cleaning business which means I'm already a entrepreneur. Who needs school?"

"Noah that is-"

"Is there a reason why you're here and not annoying Mr. Schue with songs for sectionals or your spy of a boyfriend or whatever?"

Rachel huffed indignantly. "As a matter of fact there is. I'm here to see Quinn."

"Why didn't you just say that?"

Rachel huffed again and stepped forward.

"Woah where do you think you're going?"

"To see Quinn."

"Oh no you don't. Than you'll piss her off and I'll have to deal-"

"Noah would you like me to inform Quinn that the brownies you baked for the bake sale to impress her had marijuana in it and she actually ate one."

Puck froze than promptly stepped aside to let her in.

"Good I'm glad we're on the same page." Rachel said with a smile triumphantly.

She followed him toward the stairs than he stopped her.

"Where are you going?"

"Um.. To see Quinn." Rachel said in confusion.

"Dude, Quinn sleeps in the basement." Puck said with a shake of his head as he pointed to the door under the stairs. With that he went back up the stairs to his room and Rachel stared at him appalled.

She grit her teeth than walked to the door. She knocked but didn't receive an answer.

She opened the door and poked her head in. "Quinn?"

No answer. She entered than began walking down the stairs and her lips curled in disgust as she could smell some sort of mildew/funk in the air.

It was chilly in the basement. She had her jacket on but still felt like she needed a coat.

When she reached the bottom she gasp. There was a cot like bed in the corner and a garbage bag with some of the blonde's clothes from inside, pulled out.

There was a tiny bathroom in the corner with only a sink and a toilet. That was it. That was Quinn's entire life in a nut shell and Rachel's tears welled.

She sat on the bed and her chest tightened in more despair. It felt like she was sitting on a rock.

Rachel cried for two more minutes before she got up and stormed upstairs with fire in her eyes.

She reached Pucks room and burst through the door. He was on his bed snoring peacefully.

The room smelled like sweaty boy and feet and Rachel gagged but as her eyes took in his comfy bed that could fit two people.

Than she took in the TV, game system, full closet of clothes and felt the warmth of the room she snapped and leaned forward using all her strength.

She thanked her lucky stars he was at the edge of his bed than pushed him over.

"What the hell?!" Puck grunted from the floor.

Rachel rounded on him and he jerked back in surprise.

"I don't want to here it from you slimy, no good, wanna be badasss, jerk! You are nothing but a little boy Noah Puckerman! A selfish, good for nothing, little boy! Who doesn't deserve anything you've been so fortunately blessed with!"

"Rache-"

"Shut up!" Puck jumped out of his skin and winced at the shrill and pour unadulterated anger waving off the brunette.

"I don't want to hear anything you have to say, you piece of crap! I hope you choke a fucking beer you worthless excuse for a father!"

With that Rachel spun on her heel and stormed out of the room leaving a slack jawed Puck in her wake.

"MMM.. Oh my god this is so good!" Quinn moaned around the food in her mouth.

"Yeah, being able to pop food out of thin air whenever you want is awesome." Lucy followed.

"Man, you must have it made."

Lucy gave her a look that said: You did not just say that.

"Sorry." Quinn said sheepishly. "You know what I mean. Not the part about being someone's slave but the ability to do this!" Quinn said lifting her hands to indicate their surroundings.

"Yeah, it has it's perks."

"So, now that we're here and I'm fed. What else do you need to tell me?"

"Okay hold on. I need to get comfortable." Lucy replied and before Quinn knew what was happening she was sitting on a large comfy bed at the top of the mountain still over looking the ocean.

Her eyes widened, the picnic had disappeared from sight. The bed she was in was a four post bed bigger than California king and good lord she felt like she was sitting on a cloud. She smiled.

"You luxury whore." Quinn said with a smirk.

"What can I say, I have expensive taste." Lucy said with a shrug and she hopped on the bed than stretched and got comfortable.

"Come on, lay back and get comfy. This is going to take a while." Lucy said with a comfortable whine.

Quinn did as she was told then her eyes widened once more, promptly rolling to the back of her head.

"Oh my-fuck." Quinn groaned as her back popped in all the right places. "Is this heaven?"

"It's whatever you desire it to be." Lucy replied as she watched Quinn with a critical eye.

Quinn's head whipped to her and her own eyes became critical. Lucy looked at her with confusion.

"Wow, you're still doubting me." Quinn said with disapproval.

"Ppfftt, what?"

"I can feel you're feelings Lucy, you're doubting me right now. Why?"

Lucy could feel Quinn's hurt at the fact that she isn't giving her the benefit of the doubt.

"I'm sorry but.." Lucy swallowed thickly than turned her gaze from Quinn to the ocean.

"But?"

"This is how it starts." Lucy said with less than happy tone.

"How what starts?"

"You know."

"No actually I don't. Why don't you tell me."

"This is how it starts. My masters are grateful and appreciative and completely mind blown by what I can do for them. Than they get greedy and take a turn for the worst."

"That's not fair. You're basing your past experience with other people and their actions on how I'm going to treat you. That's not right, Luce."

Lucy looked at her, warmed at the shortening of her name and she smiled sadly. "I know it's not but you don't understand, Quinn."

"Than help me understand."

"Yes, I grant your desires but also it comes with a price by a curse to those who have impure hearts."

Quinn's brow furrowed in confusion. "Meaning?"

"Meaning if you're truly a person impure of heart, you will succumb to your greed and eventually that greed will scorn you in one way or another. It's like karma, what ever you do comes back to you and will destroy you."

"And you didn't think to share this before I agreed to this."

"There's no agreeing to anything. You have no choice in the matter."

"What?"

"When you awaken the genie you open the mystical contract. You are bound by said contract and there's only two ways out of it."

"Which are?"

"Fulfilling your desires or death by your own greed."

Quinn gasped.

"So every one who has woken you up dies?!"

"No not everyone."

Quinn breathe a sigh of relief. "I'm confused."

"When I'm awoken like I said, the master is kind but if your heart is impure it will slowly begin to fill with selfishness and greed. Once the greed consumes you, it's like a drug you can't stop. Which causes people to do things they wouldn't ordinarily do and karma balances the scale of that. The person, whomever, could end up homeless and broke with no one to help them. They could go certifiably insane because there stuck in the state of selfish madness constantly trying to find the genie after their desires have been met. They could end up killing someone or themselves accidentally and so on and so forth. Have I had masters who have died yes. Have I had masters that have gone insane because they rub every lamp they can find to get back the power of genie? Yes."

"That's terrible."

"Yes it is but each of those people were never truly pure of heart. I've never actually met a pure of heart because if I had I wouldn't have gone through so many masters."

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why does it matter if you meet a pure of heart?"

"How about I show you?" Lucy said with a smile.

Quinn's eyes widened as they turned to sky and the stars began to form a show of characters, something out of a Disney movie.

They began moving in a movie like fashion as if she were watching actors who were made of literally stars.

"The pure of heart is a person who possesses great will and purity of the soul. They wield the power of genie fairly and just. They think of others before they think of themselves. The pure of heart can see with clarity and is sharp when it comes to being deceived. Pure of hearts are small in numbers compared to the amount of impure hearts. The pure of hearts are fated to one another and gentle to any person in their charge. They are what keeps the scale of good and evil balanced in this world."

After Lucy finished her explanation the stars before Quinn's eyes went back into position and it was as if what she saw she simply imagined.

Quinn swallowed thickly as she turned her gaze on Lucy. "So.. You think I'm impure of heart? That's why you doubt me?"

"It's not you personally it's just.. Centuries of this repetive cycle and never coming across a pure of heart has left me witout hope. Sometimes I think a pure of heart doesn't even exist."

Silence engulfed them. Quinn sighed as she laid back against the pillows of the bed and stared up at the night sky. Digesting everything Lucy just said.

There was nothing she could really do here. She couldn't reject the genie because now apparently she was in a binding mystical contract.

She also couldn't prevent the selfishness or greed from happening and that thought made her sad.

She knew she wasn't pure of heart. All her life she had been openly selfish and the fact that this greed consumes you without realizing, basically told her she had no chance in hell of stopping it.

Lucy stood completely still as she stared out into the night sky. She could feel everything Quinn was feeling.

She could hear Quinn thoughts of having no choice in the matter. She felt bad for the blonde she truly did but what else could they do?

"Lucy?"

"Yes."

"Can we just sleep for a little while. I don't really feel like talking anymore." Quinn said sadly.

"Of course, Quinn. Go ahead and rest, no one or thing will get us up here." Lucy assured. Quinn smiled sadly at her in as much gratefulness she could muster.

Than she turned over pulling the sheets over herself as Lucy laid at the foot of the bed staring out at the expanse of the ocean and twinkling stars of the skies.

Rachel was trying to keep her mind off of a certain pregnant blonde but she couldn't.

She was in her room on her bed, consumed with incredulous anger. How could Puck have Quinn sleeping in a basement that smelled like mildew?! That was not healthy for the baby at all.

Rachel sighed. She picked up her phone and scrolled through her contacts. She found Quinn's named and dialed her number only to here and operator voice the number was disconnected.

Rachel growled in anger than stormed to her desk pulling up her Facebook account.

She found Quinn's page and went to her messenger to type out a message. She sent it than slumped back into her seat feeling incredibly sad over the blonde.

Rachel's eyes scanned her room. She hated being alone. Her fathers were away again.

Things have been changing in the Berry household. Her fathers argued worse than there little spats.

They talked less and she could feel the tension in the room every time she was in the same space with them.

It was hard and she always felt this feeling from her daddy Hiram. Like he didn't really like her. There's a detachment she gets from him that she doesn't understand.

She took a deep breath to get her heart to stop aching and willed her tears back into their ducts as her emotions got the best of her.

She didn't understand how she did everything she's suppose to. Was very good with a tinge of selfishness when it came to glee and Finn but she some how is alone.

Always has been.

Even when she was a child. She felt different. She sighed tiredly and walked to her bed laying in it.

She shut her eyes and trying but failing to stop the sob from escaping her throat.

She hated being alone.

Lucy felt her insides burn and her eyes prick with tears. Sadness engulfed her and she didn't know why. Once glance at Quinn's sleeping form told her it wasn't the blonde.

So what the hell was wrong with her?
