So Hard To Deal With

September 20th 2001 Arlington National Cemetery

Instead of being at his HQ Sanford Scolex is attending his sister Kaylee's funeral over at Arlington National Cemetery dressed in black with a gloomy look on his face while trying his best not to cry. Stanforth is dealing and processing the death of his sister Kaylee as he is grieving. With his knowledge Stanforth actually sees his enemy Commander John Keyes is attending a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery at this time and can see him at a grave site that is near Kaylee's gravesite. He takes a glimpse at John as he can see the fact that John is wearing his Navy Summer White Uniform and he never seen John wearing his Military Uniform.

Sadly Sanford's Sister Lieutenant Kaylee Scolex died nine days ago on September 11th 2001, Kaylee was killed in the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon and she was on active duty in the United States Navy. When the Scolex family was officially given the news that Kaylee was killed in the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon they were saddened, shocked and angry; Sanford's heart shattered into tiny pieces and losing his sister has become his worst nightmare. The Scolex family doesn't understand why would people with a heart filled with evil and hatred would kill innocent people or attack the United States of America.

The Scolex family never wanted Kaylee to be a criminal and want her to have a normal life, and they were really proud of her as she served in the United States Navy for 12 years. Kaylee was a good girl who never got into trouble with the law, a lot of gangsters and mobsters would always stay from Kaylee; she always got straight A's in school and making the school honor roll every year, she graduated from Nile C. Kinnick High School as Valedictorian and she also graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1989. Kaylee got married in 1989 and then her husband was killed in action in 1991 while serving during Desert Storm. On February 8th 1991 Kaylee give birth to a baby boy who she named Jacob and becoming a mother was one the happiest things that ever happen to her. Kaylee would always tell Jacob about his dad and Jacob loves to look at a picture of his dad.

As the service is happening Sanford sits down quietly simply watching the Casket Team folding the draped American Flag after Taps is played. The Officer In Charge faces Kaylee's son Jacob while holding the folded flag waist high with the straight edge facing him. He leans towards Jacob while solemnly presenting the flag to him and Sanford see his nephew Jacob is being presented the flag. 10 year old Jacob accepts the flag and now he is holding the flag gently in his arms. A Navy Lieutenant places a copy of Lieutenant Kaylee Scolex's dog tags around Jacob's neck as a keepsake.

Sanford's heart breaks for his nephew Jacob and now Jacob is growing up without having his mom around. Both Jacob Scolex and William Thaw know how Penny Keyes feels about losing a parent; William's mom Colette was killed in the USS Cole Bombing last year in October 2000.
