Disclaimer: Dan Schneider and Nickelodeon own it...I saw Jamie Lynn Spears at a restaurant last night, it was strange and made me miss zoey101 (idk why I just told you that, I guess I'm just rambling today)
A/N: Hey! So, this chapter has bade, but also some cabbie and cade! Hope you enjoy!
Jade scurried around her apartment.
She fixed up the pillows on the couch, poured some popcorn in a bowl, set it on the coffee table and put three horror films next to it. There, she thought, that should be enough.
Jade buzzed Beck into her building and was already standing up when he arrived at her door.
"Hey," Jade spoke nonchalantly, as though she hadn't just been tidying her apartment frantically when she and Beck made last minute plans.
"Hey," Beck smiles and Jade opens the door wider to let him in.
"So, I brought over Say Anything and The Breakfast Club," Beck said holding up the DVD boxes happily.
Jade's stoic expression made Beck feel awkward so he continued talking.
"...Or we can watch other things, I just figured you may like these movies so I-
"I do enjoy 80's classics- their clothing and hairstyles are hilarious- but I prefer psycho thrillers and horror films," Jade said, taking a spot on the couch and gesturing to three movies she displayed on the coffee table.
Beck took a spot next to her, nodding his head at the choices.
"I don't mind what we watch, so why don't you choose," Beck said, hiding his shock behind an expressionless face. Don't girls hate scary movies?
"Good choice. We'll watch The Scissoring in that case," Jade smirked and stood up to place the DVD in the player.
"Oh, before the movie starts, I'll get us some drinks," Jade walked over to the kitchen quickly and opened the fridge to see what she had to offer.
"Want some lemonade?" Jade called out to Beck.
"Is it pink?" Beck asked, his voice concerned. Jade looked up from the fridge, confused.
"No..."
"Good. Is it in a can?"
"Yes-
"Then yes, I would love some lemonade."
Jade let out a slight grin and took out a can for her and him.
"Here ya go you picky...weirdo," Jade said, sitting back down and giving him the can.
Beck looked at her incredulously, "Weirdo? Really?"
Jade took a sip and replied, "Well, Beck, you are weird."
"Gee, thanks."
"No problem."
Beck chuckled at Jade's monotonous response then leaned back and flung his arm over the back of the couch.
"Let's start it up," Jade said after a beat. She hit play and got comfy, putting her legs up onto the couch and discretely scooted closer to Beck in the process.
2:00 PM
Cat smoothed her hair down, the mid-December rain storm was not doing any favors for Cat's straightened hair.
She brushed her fingers through it and silently wished the snow would start up again soon. She took a deep breath and entered the swanky, modern-looking burger restaurant that opened just last week.
"Cat, over here!" Robbie called and Cat smiled fondly. She walked over to his table that was against the window.
Robbie stood and kissed Cat on the cheek, making Cat giggle as she sat down across from him.
"Thanks for coming," Robbie said, looking down at the table.
"Of course!" Cat exclaimed, "I love burgers!" Robbie's smile faded slightly but her enthusiasm still made his cheeks turn a bit pink.
The two sat in silence while they glanced over the menu. The waiter came by moments later so the pair could order their food.
"So, I think I'm going to be staying in the city for the next few months..." Robbie trailed off after the waiter left.
Cat's face broke out into a huge smile and she cheered, "Yay! That's so exciting! What will you be doing here?"
Cat's smile is infectious and Robbie emulated her happiness, "I'm going to be working with and learning from the director of the current production of Wicked on Broadway."
"I love that show!"
"I know! Maybe you can come for one of the shows...maybe I can even let you backstage," Robbie said. Cat made her happy squeal, receiving some odd looks from people around her. She calmed herself down and locked eyes with her friend.
"I'd love that, Robbie," Cat said, her big eyes glistened with happiness at the thought.
Robbie broke their eye contact, another blush finding its way to his cheeks. The two were left in an awkward silence that was only broken when their food was placed on the table.
2:30 PM
Jade curled up closer to Beck, pleased that he wasn't getting scared of the movie. Beck's face wore a tiny grin and he moved his arm from behind the couch to put around Jade.
...
Robbie opened his mouth to speak when the waiter came by and placed his and Cat's desserts on the table. Waiting until he was gone, Robbie started.
"So, you know, since I'm going to be in New York for awhile...I was wondering if you'd, maybe, like to be my girlfriend?" Robbie spoke hesitantly but sincerely. He watched in suspense as she looked frightened at Robbie's words.
"I-I'm not ready," Cat stuttered. Her eyes wandered around the restaurant looking anywhere else but him.
"But that's what you said last time!" Robbie accused in an irrationally annoyed tone.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Cat cried. She took on the anger she's only seen Jade possess but immediately feels bad. She shouldn't be angry...but she doesn't know how else she's supposed to act.
"I'm sorry but... I just don't know, Robbie!" Cat grunts as she picks up her purse and storms out of the restaurant, leaving Robbie and her cupcake behind.
3:00 PM
"Wow, I can't believe the girl only left her boyfriend alive after killing off everyone else he knows!" Beck stated. The two were sitting in the same position but now they were watching the credits roll up the screen.
"I'm sure he deserved it," Jade sighed then stood up to take the movie out.
"Hey! I'm all cold now!" Beck complained.
Jade smirked, put the movie on the table then practically pounced on him. She straddled his waist from his spot on the couch.
"Better?" Jade asked, smiling deviously.
"Much better," Beck whispered and Jade leaned in to kiss him. The two were interrupted, though as the door swung open to reveal a wet and crying Cat.
Jade quickly pushed herself off of Beck and ran over to Cat.
"What did that strange boy do?" Jade questioned through gritted teeth. She doesn't trust the kid who tried to give her a hug the first time they met.
"H-he a-a-asked m-me," Cat started to say but couldn't get it out through her tears. Jade nodded her head and stroked Cat's back soothingly.
"Beck, I think you should go," Jade said and Cat's eyes widened. She tried to mutter out that he could stay but neither Jade nor Beck could understand her blubbering.
"Great seeing you, Jade. Feel better, Cat," Beck said in a disappointed voice as he picked his jacket up and closed the door behind him.
"Cat, go change into dry clothes and I'll make some tea, okay?" Jade spoke, never feeling so motherly before in her life.
"Five sugars, please," Cat mumbled and walked to her room.
While the water boiled she replaced the popcorn bowl with tissues and a plate of cookies. She paused when she realized Beck forgot his DVDs here. Oh well, Jade thought and didn't move them from the table.
Jade finished up the tea and brought it out to Cat who was now seated in Beck's abandoned spot on the couch.
"Thanks," Cat sniffled and took a sip of the tea as Jade sat across from her.
"Now, what happened exactly?"
"Robbie asked me to be his girlfriend."
"Oh no! Did you accidentally say 'yes'?" Jade asked, seriously.
"No!"
"Oh..then why are you crying?" Jade looked at Cat confused.
"Because," Cat took a deep breath to calm herself down again, "I want to say yes!"
Jade's eyebrows nit together in concern, "Why?"
Cat narrowed her eyes and put the tea down so she could lightly slap Jade on the knee.
"I like him! B-but for some reason I get too nervous around him. I want to be friends but I think I may want to be more than friends too," Cat's voice was getting shaky but she continued on.
"I just feel so bad that I said no. I don't even know why I said no...but I don't know if I even want to say yes!" Cat shook her head, mad at herself for being contradicting.
"Maybe you aren't ready to be in a relationship with him?" Jade tried.
"But I am! I've liked him for over 5 years!"
"So?"
"So...I...I don't know what to do Jade!" Cat said, picking a cookie from the plate and nibbling on it.
Jade sighed and said, "I know what to do."
Cat looked at Jade with hope but the expression fell at Jade's idea.
"We're going to order Chinese food and tomorrow night we're going to go to a party a boy in my theater 310 class from last semester is throwing in his parent's spare apartment."
Cat thought about it and knew she couldn't say no to Jade. She nodded her head slightly and Jade climbed over to give Cat a side-hug and kiss her temple. The pair pulled apart and sat at their ends of the couch again. It was silent for a minute before Cat opened her mouth.
"Did Beck bring over Say Anything?" Cat asked, when she glanced at the movie sitting on the table. Jade nodded, picking a cookie from the plate.
"How did he know you love John Cusack?"
Jade's lips turned up in a small smile and shrugged.
A/N: Sooo it's been quite awhile since I last updated, for which I apologize. :/ Some British bands that I absolutely love took over my free time (if anyone loves McFly or The Vamps definitely let me know, they're some of my favorites :)
Hope you enjoyed this chapter! It's a bit short but the next one will be longer- I've already started writing it so that may or may not be put up some time this week!
