Chapter 01

Chapter 1

What is the meaning of life? Some say, it's one's own interpretation. For others it's simply to follow orders given. Where do I fall in since I'm not a real human, what is my purpose in life?

"Greetings, my name Nero Erde, Gundam Meister of Celestial Being and here's my life story.

My earliest memory starts in 2255, was when I was awakened to serve as an agent of Celestial Being. That changed in 2285, when I was reassigned to be the test pilot of the first generation Gundam. The GN-000 0 Gundam that I piloted for about the next ten years, during that time, I was also assigned to recruit the second Generation Meisters.

First was Veda's recommendation and someone I immediately recognized as an Innovade known as Gundam Meister 874, but kept quiet on the subject.

Next was the Mechanic turned pilot, Ruido Resonce.

Third is the criminal Marlene Vlady, I hated this assignment, placing a bomb on a living person turned my stomach, but orders are orders.

Last was at the time, the youngest pilot in the organization, Chall Acustica.

The Gundam assignments were as followed, Ruido and The GNY-001 Gundam Astraea. 874 with the GNY-002 Gundam Sadalsuud. Marlene aloneside the GNY-003 Gundam Abulhool. Lastly was Chall and the GNY-004 Gundam Plutone.

Once recuitment was completed, I tried to avoid contact with the second Gen Meisters, which worked for the most part due to my mission and them doing performance testing on the Gundams.

But not every plan works as expected. I encountered one of them either before or after missions. Slowly they clipped away at in their words my stubbornness, to spend time with them during my off time. I assisted Ruido with maintenance which helped me in case I had to do field repairs, played a few rounds of chess against Marlene and worked with Chall in the simulator to improve her piloting, at the time improving my own skills using different Gundams.

This continued through to 2293 when I was given an important mission, to infiltrate the UNION as an undercover agent and tell absolutely nobody of the the assignment. However before this, I was there when Ruido and Marlene had their little girl and surprisingly asked me to be her godfather instead of Ian or Doctor Moreno. I happily accepted, only to regret it a day later when the mission came in.

Gaining entre was easy enough. It was almost laughable how easy it was to gain access to one of the three power bloc's. After easily passing their academy. I was assigned a Realdo to pilot and stationed aboard a sea carrier off the shore of Australia, which is where I remained for the next ten years. In 2305, I was promoted to 1st lieutenant, reassigned to a base in South America and issued the new Union Flag model. By the time 2307 came around, I was made leader of my own squad. A few months later Celestial Being Began their interventions.

Months passed, then a joint operation between the Union, AEU and HRL was conducted in the Taklamakan Desert. I received orders from VEDA to make it look real. After 15 hours of consistent bombing, the four gundams were weakened enough for capturer, for a slight second I hesitated.

That hesitation might have saved my life, as most of my squad were wipe out by new brown Gundam emitting red GN particles. My flag only lost it's right arm. I immediately contacted VEDA and demanded answers, which I got none. A few days later, I was recruited as a replacement for the Over-Flags task force. Where my flag was upgraded into an Over Flag, which I would only use once before the bloc's somehow gained access to pseudo GN Drives along with thirty mobile suits.

I was issued the new GN-X model alongside eight other union pilots. Would have been nine others but Graham refused to pilot any other machine but a Flag. The Union and the AEU would conduct an attack on Celestial Being's ship. The result was the loss of thirteen unit, the destruction of the captured throne unit and death of a Gundam Meister (later confirmed by VEDA). Unfortunately or rather fortunately, I couldn't sortie in the next operation due to faulty components in my units GN Drive. The operation ended with the apparent end of Celestial Being and capture of a gundam and it's pilot, minus it's GN Drive.

During the next few months, my performance impressed the higher ups enough to upgrade my GN-X into an Advanced GN-X, substituting the proto-lance for the long barreled rifle, since the lance didn't fit my style. A year later, I upgraded my unit into the GN-XII which I equipped with the cannon equipment, that I used for the next two years. In 2311, I converted my machine to a GN-XIII, which I piloted for the next year.

In 2312, Celestial Being made a comeback. As a result, I was forceful recruited into a so called special task force called the A-Laws. Sometime later, I was promoted to captain and assigned a new Ahead model, while keeping my GN-XIII as a backup and stationed to a base on earth, while the battles against Celestial Being mostly happened in space and I was kept away when battles did take place on the surface, leading me to believe my covers been blown and my promotion was a way to keep an eye on me. Having received no new orders supported my theory.

Following the break pillar incident where the former AEU orbital elevator was attacked by an orbital weapon. A few days later, I was approached by Colonel Mannequin to join a Coup d'état. Deciding to trust my own judgment over VEDA's orders, I accepted and abandoned my Ahead to reclaim my GN-XIII using an old sword equipment modified to fit. It took time to gather materials and personnel for a major assault and when it happened, the coup alongside Katharon supported Celestial Being to end the A-Law and that arrogant prick Ribbons Almark and his group that called themselves Innovators. Of course near the end of the battle, my unit was damaged by a kamikaze attack before the enemy unit started shutting down one by one. However the strangest thing that occurred was the abnormal amount of GN particles produced by the twin drive gundam, which disrupted my quantum brainwaves.

After the war, was a pure nightmare. Somehow, a list of innovades became known to the federation and I was subsequently arrested for supposition of treason on that fact alone. I spent the next year and a half being treated like a lab rat. In that time, I killed seven scientists and thirteen guards before they decided to keep me in restraints.

In 2314, during the invasion of the alien creatures known as the ELS. The government wanted to keep me off the battlefield due to my QBW. But high ranking military officials demanded that I fight because I was one of the most skilled pilots available. Eventually the politicians backed off. I was given a new GN-XIV, which ironically was my old GN-XIII. How I knew was easy due to the modifications that I made to the O.S. Since the cannon equipment along with the sword type haven't been made since production of the GN-XII ceased which made both hard to come by, the weapon layout I went with was the long rifle, two shields mounted on the shoulders and a NGN bazooka. The equipment were two surplus particle tanks mounted behind both shoulders.

The battle was difficult. The federation lost more than 70% of their forces, even Celestial Being lost a gundam along with an original GN drive. Six months passed, then the message I've been waiting for arrived. The orders to return. I knew that, I couldn't take my GN-XIV which had been upgraded with a core fighter. A decision made after the large number of pilots lost during the conflict. So instead, I stole an Over Flag Astro Package equippped with a booster, after setting the self-destruction device.

It took a few hours before arriving at a CB that I remembered. Naturally, I was met with suspicion by certain members. With the exception of Ian, his family and Chall.

For the next year, I worked with Lockon Stratos in space based missions, while using the Sadalsuud which had been modified to use a GN drive tau, instead of the Astraea as I required. During that time, the conflict between innovators and non-innovators escalated. Naturally, I wanted to conduct an armed intervention.

However my quote unquote little brother Tieria who is merged with veda declined. Days later, I received an encoded message that included a set of coordinates and what looked like a pass code. Deciding to trust my own instincts, I went. The location turned out to be an abandoned Celestial Being supply base used before the main team went underground. I punched in the code and as the doors opened only one word escaped from my mouth when I saw what was inside.
