Chapter seven:

A friend in need

* Back towards the large tree Skull kid had left his friends in.

However once there they stumbled across a horrific scene. *

One of Zant's henchmen was holding Tatle.

Meanwhile Tael was hovering above wanting to help out his sister but being unable to thanks to two other monsters trying to catch him.

Skull kid was horrified by what he saw, he left his friends and now had to pay for it.

While all he wanted to do was help out another fairy in need.

"Let them be!" Skull kid yelled as he jumped into view.

Then the monsters all looked at him.

But not for long, soon the monster who was holding Tatle looked back at the defenceless fairy he was holding.

It seemed to have realized that Skull kid was there for his fairy friend.

Skull kid then watched in horror as the broke her wing with full out evil intent.

It intended to anger Skull kid and lure him into a fight.

"Noooooo!" Skull kid yelled as he flew towards the monster and started attacking at random.

Navi meanwhile yelling "Look out!" Whenever one of the other two monsters tried to attack.

Which seemed to piss off the monster who was still holding Tatl.

The monster had planned for Skull kid to be caught off guard after he flew into his rage.

It might sound weird but the monster already figured that Skull kid might have been more trouble had he been focussed on battle instead of recklessly trying to save his friend.

The situation was dire and because of Skull kid's overflowing emotion he wasn't paying even half the attention he usually would.

He was lucky that Navi kept warning him since all form of calm thinking had left his mind.

Skull kid fired off a strong magic attack, the monsters managed to dodge but the woods behind them got destroyed, creating another clearing.

The monster holding Tatl knew then that his opponent might be too much for just the three of them and the only reason they weren't blown to pieces was because he had his hostage.

Then the monster came up with a new plan, it jumped away while the other two monsters held off skull kid.

Then it turned to the fairy again teasingly pulling it's other wing but not breaking it just yet.

By this point Skull kid had become so enraged that it would almost look like Majora was back.

He wanted to let the damn moon crash on those monsters.

Skull kid flew towards the first monster and hit it from close range with another magic attack.

The monster was blasted into pieces and the black dots returned to the mirror just like it had before when he took out 5 other monsters.

Navi and Tael watched in shock as it almost seemed like Skull kid teleported in front of the second monster and destroyed it as well.

The surrounding area wasn't doing good either, the clearing had become twice as large as it was before shaped weirdly due to the positions of the two monsters he took out.

A cold breeze went by as Skull kid realized that the third monster who still had his friend had resorted to running away and was now almost out of sight.

It had reached the treeline and looked back one final time while showing off the fairy with the broken wing.

Skull kid full of rage went after them of cause.

Navi was startled, up until now she hadn't seen any sorcerers go all out.

Of cause earlier she had to deal with Ghirahim but he was just fooling around.

And that already scared her a bit.

Tael was at least just as scared or even more so.

"What if, ...Majora.. returned?" He thought to himself.

However it may be, the fairies still followed

Meanwhile Mr Hawkins and his henchmen finally made it to the woods.

He was just discussing the final plans before heading in.

"Listen up! We are here to find two powerful witches, Koume and Kotake also known to many as Twinrova. On top of that, chances are the two evil sorcerers are still here as well. Last time I saw them, one summoned a lot of monsters. Be on your guards. And if any of you see a kid, please make taking him to safety your top priority." Mr Hawkins said.

"Yes, sir!" The men yelled back ready to enter the lost woods.

"One more thing, after seeing what happened to two of the guards last time.. I want this to be a mission without casualties. I want us to lay low as much as possible to avoid combat. If anyone gets hurt, retread and wait for us over where we left the horses. That is all, let's go!" Mr Hawkins said.

The men followed him without any complaints or second thoughts.

Mr Hawkins is a man of planning, this time however he didn't have enough time to think of the perfect plan.

So this would have to be enough for now.

Monster were still patrolling the woods but not as badly as the day before.

The group of guards could easily sneak past.

This came as a relief to Mr Hawkins, he really didn't want to lose anyone else.

Before long the group found a clearing.

The ground was still soft.

"Looks like a fresh battle with a mage, sir." One of the soldiers concluded.

"It sure does, perhaps Koume and Kotake found the other two mages and the two groups didn't get along very well? Or perhaps they fought amongst themselves." Mr Hawkins concluded.

After a moment of silence Mr Hawkins continued. "In any case, let's press forward."

So the group efficiently sneaked further into the lost woods.

Avoiding contact with any monsters as much as possible as to not draw attention to them.

But then suddenly they heard what sounded like explosions.

Followed soon by an intense loud roar.

Then monsters form all directions started running towards the ruckus.

The soldiers were lucky they weren't seen even though so many monsters passed them.

The lost woods was great for cover and very efficient for sneak attacks.

Knowing this one of the soldiers whispered. "Whoever is fighting must be a fool to attract this much attention to themselves. Even if it are those two witches."

"I fully agree but, knowing those witches and how powerful they are. They might go for it. Right?" Another soldier implied.

"Certainly witches of that status are strong but, even they would play it smart knowing them. Still there might be a chance it's them, perhaps they were driven in a corner." Mr Hawkins said as he held his hand over his chin thinking.

He then signed at the men to keep moving while he took the lead.

Little did they know, they were going straight towards a trap.

Meanwhile back at the castle.

Zelda was passing back and forth, she had become slightly worried after all.

She had all the right to be, Mr Hawkins was always by the kings and her side for as long as she could remember.

He practically raised her as well.

Of cause she was worried about the other soldiers that left too.

"What if they'd end up like the other two? Or what if they end up worse?" Zelda thought to herself.

Meanwhile Sidon was sitting on a table swinging his legs nervously back and forth.

Daru was standing in an open doorway leaning against it.

"I'm getting sick of waiting! Can't we just go after them?" Sidon said as he jumped off the table.

"Aye, I agree! Waiting around while others might face danger doesn't suit right with me." Daru said.

"As much as I would love to agree.. we have to trust in Mr Hawkins. He knows what he's doing. Besides even if we go, their mission either bad or good would have ended by the time we got there." Zelda explained.

It was the truth, they'd have to cross Hyrule field after all.

It would take them a couple of hours to cross it.

By that time the mission or damage would already have been done.

"Besides, you're still hurt Daru." Zelda continued.

"I guess you're right." Daru said as both he and Sidon dropped down their heads in defeat.

Then to their surprise the infirmary door opened.

Midna stepped outside while looking confused.

"Where am I?" She asked.

"Hello princess, allow me to explain. You are at Hyrule castle, you passed out on your way here. Anyway I am Sidon, Prince of the Zora's." Sidon said while kissing her hand in a charming way.

"I see, he's always charming when he first meets princesses, eh?" Zelda thought to herself.

Since he also did that in a similar fashion when he met her.

Daru then practically pushed Sidon aside and asked. "Are you okay, lass? You're wounds looked quite serious. My name is Daru by the way."

The two were all up in her face, they wanted to know who she was and where she came from.

"And I'm Zelda, pleased to meet you. Now boy's please let the lady breathe, she's been through enough as it is." Zelda said in a slightly teasing manner.

"You're Zelda?! The princess of Hyrule?" Midna suddenly asked with surprise.

"Yeah, that's me. So my name is even known to strange species from an even stranger portal?" Zelda asked.

"Oh well...-" Midna then started explaining about the Twilight realm and it's people.

She also explained how she fought Zant before and that she knew Zelda's predecessor.

All three were listening to her story closely while they went to the large table and sat down as if they were in a meeting.

At one point Botrick and Gutter also joined in on their conversations.

Meanwhile back in the lost woods.

Skull kid had finally caught up with the monster that took his friend.

He quickly moved towards the monster and hit it on it's side at full force.

That forced the monster to let go of the fairy.

Tatl weakly tried to fly and barely managed to get to her brother and Navi.

Meanwhile Skull kid attempted to finish off the last monster.

But then he stopped and had to cover his ears because the monster let out a loud extreme roar.

Within no time at all Skull kid found himself surrounded by monsters.

He could have just flown away but seeing as how there were so many and he still hadn't had the chance to face off against that one monster that took his friend, he didn't want to.

Skull kid summoned his trumpet like item and started playing a quick tune while dodging all the monsters.

Six puppets showed up.

His usual limit was four but seeing as he was now using Majora's power to boost his own he had two extra at the moment.

However those six were just enough to keep the monster busy.

All Skull kid had to do was buy some time and store up energy.

However he was still careful with using the mask's powers so he barely used about 5% of it, 20% at most.

"Go find cover!" Skull kid yelled at his friends once he was ready to attack.

He had stored up energy so he could let it all out in a forcefield like burst.

The fairies flew as high as they could while carrying Tatl.

And Skull kid indeed created a large burst of energy.

A large purple/blackish forcefield pushed most enemies either into the sky or against the trees in the forest.

Tael then took out some monsters mid air while Navi held Tatl.

Then once that was over Skull kid fell on his knees a bit out of breath.

"I should have used more magic from the mask." He whispered to himself.

The fairies then flew down to him.

Navi dropped Navi in Skull kids hands.

Skull kid held her close being glad the threat was finally over.

Unfortunately this feeling of safety wouldn't last long.
