Note: Alright, I should give this story as much attention as I do my other stories. For starters, I shouldn't leave something unfinished, as cliffhangers often leave the story on an unsatisfying note. Also, I can't always focus on my Star Fox stories. Before we move on, I have something to say to two reviewers.
Ron: Well, the new team isn't really the next generation of Loonatics. After all, this story takes place a few months after the ending of the show. Now that I think about it, why not resume your account? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to.
EmpressLoveSiren23: I'm glad that you like the story so far, I hope that you enjoy this chapter.
Now that I've done that, it's time for chapter five.
Chapter 5: Dark Angel
On Saturday, Jack found himself walking through the Loonatics' HQ. He couldn't complain, given how he was now a member of the team. As he walked through the building, he was greeted by Duck.
"Looks like one of the newcomers came early." The mallard remarked.
"I take it that no one else has come yet?" Jack asked.
"I got a call from that fennec Tech and Rev met up with," Duck said, "she told me that she would be late."
"Alrighty then." The young man said as he sat on the couch. As soon as he sat down, Klara walked into the room. She was wearing her backpack and carrying a bag full of clothes.
"Well, I'm here." Klara said as she sat her bag on the floor, sitting her backpack near it.
"You and your brother are early." Duck said as he walked past her.
"Any word from the others?" She asked.
"Only from Lori." Jack said.
All of a sudden, a purple light appeared in the middle of the living room. The light slowly shrank, revealing John in the middle of it. The stag had two clothes bags with him, both of them being held in his hands. Once the light was gone, he walked towards Duck, Jack, and Klara.
"You know how to make an entrance, do you?" Jack spoke.
John ignored him, looking at Duck.
"Where's the training room at?" He asked.
"It's down that hallway." Duck said as he pointed to his right.
"Thanks." The stag said as he walked in that direction, leaving the Loonatic with the two newcomers.
"I wonder if the others will have some big, fancy entrance." Duck said.
"Probably not." Jack said.
Excuse me, can anyone hear me? Diane's voice echoed throughout the room.
"Loud and clear." Klara said.
If anyone tries to talk, that won't work because I'm using my telepathy. The vixen's telepathy transmitted another message. Anyway, I'm going to Simon's house before I come to the tower. Also, Duck, if you can hear this, Teagan said that she would be late.
"I hope that it doesn't prevent us from hanging out." Duck said.
Lori entered the room through the elevator, carefully stepping out as she did so.
"Sorry, I'm late." She apologized.
"You're not late." Jack said.
"Thanks for telling me." The fennec said as she sat down next to him.
"If you wonder where Rudolph is, he's in the training room." Duck said.
"What should we do for the time being?" Klara asked.
"When the others get here, we'll do some training." The mallard stated. "Until they get here, I'll let you get used to your surroundings."
"Thanks, Mr. Duck." Lori said.
"Please, call me Danger Duck." He said.
Meanwhile, a man was walking through the streets of Acmetropolis. He was wearing a hoodie, with the hood almost completely covering his head. However, there was a lump on his back. The lump was not unnoticed by those around the man. In fact, a muscular man was walking near him.
"Hey freak, what's with your back?" The bodybuilder asked.
The man didn't answer him.
"Oh, too good to talk, eh?" The larger man mocked. "What's wrong? Are you too stupid to talk?"
Unfortunately for the bodybuilder, he found himself having a hole punched through him. This killed him almost instantly, blood seeping out of his wound like a river. This frightened everyone who witnessed it, as they ran away from the man in the hoodie. He then ripped his hoodie off, revealing the lump on his back to be a set of wings. The wings were tattered, looking almost featherless. They were also black, being covered in blood from the bodybuilder. In addition to that, the man was wearing burlap on his body.
"Citizens of Acmetropolis," he shouted, "I demand the Loonatics so that I can kill them! If I don't see them in the next week, I will destroy everything in my way! This world will know the wrath of Dark Angel!"
Back at HQ, Duck was training with the Mighty Loonatics. Needless to say, everyone was doing well in their training. Jack had shown off his psychokinetic and pyrokinetic powers, showing off a whip of thorns shortly after he did that. Diane's energy blasts easily destroyed the targets she had been up against, her telepathy helping her to easily destroy them. Lori used her force fields as weapons against the droids that were firing at her, destroying the machines with little effort. As for Teagan, she managed to short circuit the machines that she was fighting off against. It would seem that everyone had their turn, until Duck noticed that three of them hadn't trained in front of him.
"Alright, who's next?" Duck asked.
"Not me." Simon said.
"I was here minutes ago." John answered.
"I'll go next." Klara offered.
Duck pressed a button on the wall, which caused a few droids to fly towards Klara. The girl's eyes changed from their normal black to red as a dark aura formed around her. When the first droid attacked, it was quickly destroyed by the child. She did the same with the other droids, having little effort in how she did it. The others were surprised, as Klara wasn't using any or the powers she described herself as having. However, a scoff came from one of them.
"Amateur." John said.
"Well, demonstrate your powers, tough guy." Jack glared at him.
"Yeah, back off." Simon said to the stag.
"I'd rather not." John said.
"Come on, show us what you can do." Jack said.
"No." The stag said.
"You're a member of the team, so I suggest following orders, Bambi." Duck said to him.
"So, you want to see what I can do?" The deer asked, having an annoyed tone in his voice.
"Yes." Everyone else said.
Before John could show off his powers, a beeping noise came out of Duck's communicator. He answered it, pressing a button on the communicator.
"What is it, Zadavia?" Duck asked.
"Duck, we've got a problem." Zadavia's voice came out of the communicator.
"I'm training with the new team, can it wait?" The mallard asked.
"Not quite." She said. "There's a new threat in Acmetropolis."
"Really? Who is it?" The waterfowl asked.
"The new threat is a man calling himself Dark Angel. He used to be Adam Heybourne, a real estate agent who had been undergoing therapy for his delusional behavior. From what I can tell, he can destroy anything with the wings that are on his back. Be sure to avoid those when you fight him, everyone."
"We'll be careful." Jack said.
"And we'll use our best strategies to take him down!" Diane said.
"Good, give me a call when you apprehend him." Zadavia said.
"We will!" Duck said before hanging up.
"Alright, our first mission!" Jack said excitedly.
"Time to kick some ass!" Simon cracked his knuckles.
"Just promise me that none of you will do anything reckless." Duck said. "I mean, I know that we're heroes, but I would prefer to keep my tail feathers on my tail if Zadavia got mad."
"We promise." Diane said.
"Well, what are we waiting for?!" Lori spoke. "Let's go down there!"
Down in the city, Dark Angel was attacking those around him, using his wings to strike the surrounding buildings. The citizens were running away, eager to get away from the winged villain. He simply walked forward, looking impatient.
"Now, where are those superhero freaks?" Dark Angel asked himself.
"Right here!" Duck called out. "Or rather, some new members of the team!"
Duck used his jet pack to fly down to the ground. Behind him were Jack, Diane, John, Lori, Klara, Simon, and Teagan. Dark Angel was perplexed, having not expected the Loonatics to have gotten new members. However, his mood changed from puzzled to confident.
"You really think that these new recruits can beat me?" Dark Angel asked.
"We can try!" Jack said as he cracked his knuckles.
"Very well then," the winged villain said, "test your luck against a fallen angel, so-called new heroes!"
"Challenge accepted!" Diane said as she fired a few energy blasts at him. He swatted all but one of them away, as the one he failed to dodge hit him in the chest. The winged villain then engaged in a fistfight with the Arctic fox, holding even ground with her. That was until he caught one of her punches.
"I appreciate your moxie, kid, but you alone can't beat me." Dark Angel said.
"I can tell." Diane stated.
Dark Angel flew up into the air, creating a fireball in his hand. He crushed it, causing the ground below the Mighty Loonatics to shake. After that, a few shadowy figures popped out of the street. They staggered towards the new team, their eyes glowing red.
"Zombies?" Simon asked.
"No, they're just creatures that he created." John said.
"I bet that you and Tech would be good friends." Duck remarked.
"Come on, guys, let's fight them!" Klara said as she punched one of the creatures.
"Alright!" Jack shouted as he lit some of the creatures on fire.
The Mighty Loonatics began to fight the creatures that were surrounding them. Simon was using his bone marrow to form a set of knuckle spikes that acted as brass knuckles, which he used to punch the monsters that came near him. Jack continued to use his pyrokinesis, following it up with an aura attack or two. Diane used her energy blasts, which instantly destroyed each creature they hit. As for Klara, she used her powers to crush some of the creatures with rocks. Not to be outdone was Lori, who used her force fields as projectiles. Duck and Teagan were using a tag team strategy, with Duck using his powers against the monsters while Teagan fired lightning at them.
However, John was the only member of the new team who wasn't using his powers to fight. In fact, he was simply punching and kicking the creatures away.
"Hey John, show us your powers!" Jack shouted.
"No, I'm doing fine." John said.
"C'mon, at least give a demonstration!" Lori said.
"I'd rather not." The stag responded, his voice showing clear annoyance. "Besides, these creatures aren't hard to beat."
"Chicken, you're just scared!" Duck taunted.
"Think I'm scared, do you?!" The deer spat.
"Yeah!" The mallard chuckled. "And you call yourself a deer!"
Without warning, John screamed as a humongous purple fireball formed in his hands. He threw it at the creatures, destroying them all in an instant. After that, the stag angrily threw another purple fireball at Dark Angel, which knocked him out of the sky. Dark aura formed around John, which was corresponding to his glowing eyes.
"Wow, that was amazing!" Jack said, feeling both scared and impressed.
"Nice one." Duck said as he approached John.
"Think I'm scared now?!" The stag shouted as the aura around him disappeared.
"No, but why didn't you show this before?" The mallard asked.
"Because my powers nearly drove me to the dark side." He answered. "If I'm not careful, I could become a dangerous enemy to all of you."
"First things first, we need to take this guy to jail." Klara said, looking at Dark Angel.
The team moved towards their winged enemy, with Duck carrying some handcuffs. However, Dark Angel got up and knocked everyone back with a shockwave. They got up, but only to be met with the villain charging a powerful blast.
"Goodbye, Loonatics!" He shouted as he got ready to fire the blast.
"Shit, we need to counter it!" Jack said.
"I've got an idea!" Duck said.
"Well, what is it?" Diane asked, charging up one of her energy blasts.
Duck went over to a broken fire hydrant that was destroyed by Dark Angel's shockwave. Without hesitation, he began to use his Aqua Dense power against the winged villain's blast. However, the blast was too strong to beat. It seemed that the man formerly known as Adam Heybourne would win. That was until Teagan came by her brother's side.
"I've been thinking about your Aqua Dense power!" Teagan said.
"What about it?!" Duck asked.
"Water conducts electricity, so yours might be devastating if you combined it with mine!" The older mallard said.
"Well, go for it!" The younger mallard said.
Teagan touched the Aqua Dense beam, adding lightning to it. The lightning-enhanced attack destroyed the blast Dark Angel had fired and brought him down to the ground. The moment he hit the ground, the winged villain was knocked unconscious. Once he was down, a few of the citizens came out.
"I'll take this guy to jail," Duck said as he lifted Dark Angel, "you guys get used to the awe of the people you protect."
The mallard teleported away, leaving the Mighty Loonatics with the citizens.
"Who are they?" A woman asked.
"They're not the Loonatics, but they saved us." A man noted.
"Who are you guys?" A little girl asked as she came up to the team.
"We're the Mighty Loonatics, your new protectors." Jack said to the citizens. "Everyone, there's no need for alarm. We are a new team of Loonatics formed by the original. And now, we are here to become the new heroes of Acmetropolis."
Meanwhile, an unknown figure was watching the new team from the rooftops.
"Looks like I'm too late to stop the Loonatics from finding new members." He said to himself. "However, that won't keep me from succeeding in my plans. Get ready, Mighty Loonatics, because you won't know what hit you."
Note: Okay, so the guy on the rooftops turned out to not be Dark Angel. However, he might be someone more dangerous. Do you think that the new team can beat him? What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
