Note: I apologize for taking so long to update this. However, I'm back on track with my stories, including this one. Before we move on, I want to speak to two reviewers.

EmpressLoveSiren23: Thanks, I hope that you like the story in spite of what will happen in this chapter.

Ron: If you can't find Loonatics at your library, just look up the show on YouTube. After all, you can find anything on YouTube.

Now that I've done that, let's move on to chapter eight.

Chapter 8: John's Story

A day after the Mighty Loonatics apprehended Sypher, the team decided to just take it easy at HQ. Tech and Rev were in the lab while the team was in the living room. However, John was the only member of the Mighty Loonatics to be sitting with his teammates. In fact, the stag had not walked through the hallway yet.

"What should we do, guys?" Jack asked.

"I don't know," Lori said, "maybe we could reveal some personal stories from the past."

"Like what?" The young man asked.

"I can tell you about how I caught a big catfish one time." Simon said. "I was eight at the time, so I was fishing with my mother and father. We spent two hours at the lake, but we hadn't caught anything. That was until I felt something tugging at the line of the fishing pole I was using. Once I saw it, I reeled it in with my mom's help, revealing that a catfish had bitten on the lure I was using. We didn't take the big guy home with us, but my dad took a picture of him."

"I take it that the lake you were at didn't have any bass?" Klara asked.

"We didn't catch any." The gray hound said.

"Alright, who's next?" Jack asked.

"I broke my arm while I was on a rescue mission." Teagan said. "I was with a few soldiers, so I had backup in case something went wrong. We had managed to sneak into a building where the hostages were kept, but one of the terrorists saw us. They opened fire, but I took cover with my men. Once enemy fire had ceased, we opened fire on the terrorists, killing them all. I broke my arm when I escorted one of the hostages out of the building, the hostage being a heavy person."

"Nice!" Jack said. "I wish that I could do stuff like how you did."

"We'll be doing stuff like that from now on." Klara stated. "After all, we're Acmetropolis' new heroes."

"I guess I'll go next." Diane stated. "A day before the meteor strike, I decided to go jogging. While doing so, I saw two people fighting. I tried to break it up, but they told me to fuck off. As such, I was forced to call the police on them."

"Did they arrest those guys?" Lori asked.

"Yes," the Arctic fox answered, "but the cops told me that I should call them for more serious matters. I mean, those two ruffians were causing a disturbance and they told me that it wasn't a serious situation?"

John walked into the room, causing the others to look at him.

"Well, Mr. Sunshine's here!" Jack said.

"What's on your mind, John?" Teagan asked.

"I might as well thank all of you for staying back when I drained Sypher of his powers." John stated.

"In our defense, we didn't know what you were going to do." Jack said.

"I did," Diane said, "my telepathy allowed me to sense the increase in dark energy you had. I didn't go near you, seeing as your powers could harm everyone in their proximity if you're not careful."

Tech and Rev walked into the room, dressed in only their underwear.

"Looks like your exposition means little to a telepath." Tech stated.

"Very well," John said, "each of you are probably wondering why I was looking around on Sypher's body before he was taken away. I noticed that Tech, Rev, Jack and Simon hadn't taken their shirts off as long as I have been here. I hope that you don't mind me asking an odd question."

"An odd question, you say?" Lori asked.

"What is it?" Klara asked.

"None of you would happen to have a birthmark that looks like the Taurus constellation on your back, would you?" The stag looked at Tech, Rev, Jack and Simon.

"You weren't kidding about the odd part." Simon stated.

"Does this have something to do with the death of your sister?" Jack asked.

"Yes," John stated, "those who had overheard her death revealed that she said her attacker had a birthmark that resembled the Taurus constellation."

"Well, I'm not the guy you're looking for." The young man said.

"None-of-us-have-a-birthmark-like-that." Rev said. "I-mean-it's-just-bizarre-to-have-a-birthmark-that-looks-like-a-constellation."

"Then I apologize for the rudeness." John said.

"Not all of us know about your past." Tech stated. "If it's not too painful to talk about, we'd like to know what happened."

John nodded, swallowing as he began to tell his story.

"It's been nearly two years," the stag spoke, "but it was a year before the meteor struck. It all happened on a sunny day. My sister, Adrianna, had just gotten out of College, so she called me to say that she was walking home. However, she was being followed by a man who was close to the fountain of Acmetropolis University. He was wearing enough clothing to the point where people could consider him a living suit. Once my sister was able to see him, she tried to run, but the man immediately grabbed her and took her into an alleyway. Once they were out of sight, he raped, strangled and beat her to death. Those who overheard Adrianna screaming said that they could hear a man speaking to her in a husky baritone, almost sounding like he had a head cold. In addition to that, one of the witnesses saw that he had the Taurus constellation for a birthmark that was located squarely on his back."

"God, that's dark." Simon stated.

"My powers hadn't started manifesting yet," John continued, "but I began to search for the bastard after I heard the news. Once the meteor struck, my search was halted, but I resumed it when my powers were able to be utilized. Seeing as the meteor caused several individuals to get powers, I surmised that the man could be one of those individuals."

"He's probably got powers, alright." Jack said.

"And the reason we didn't see him during our missions is that he's a coward." Tech added.

"Now that I've told you the whole story, you must understand that I've made finding my sister's killer to be my main priority." John said.

"Don't worry," Klara told him, "we'll find that creep so that you can deal with him."

"I've had years as someone who saves hostages and captures criminals, so you can count on me to help you out." Teagan stated.

"Even if it's one of our most dangerous missions, we'll help you on your search for that evil man." Lori said.

"I'd prefer to search by myself, guys." John said before he walked out of the room.

"Poor guy." Jack said.

"Until we find the man who caused his misfortune," Diane stated, "he'll be like this for the time being."

"We'll find him, don't worry." Tech stated.

"And-all-we-need-to-do-is-look-for-a-man-with-a-Taurus-birthmark-on-his-back." Rev added.

"We'll keep that in mind." Simon said.

Tech and Rev walked out of the room, leaving the Mighty Loonatics by themselves. Once they had left, the team went back to speaking with each other.

"A man with an odd birthmark on his back, that's pretty easy to remember." Lori stated.

"And the birthmark in question looks like a constellation." Jack added.

"It should be easy to search for the guy." Klara said.

"With Diane's telepathy, we'll find him without any problem." Simon stated. "The girl can come out of a pinch with her telepathy."

"Just don't expect me to tell you everything with my telepathy." Diane said.

Everyone in the room laughed, having been brightened up after being shocked by John's dark tale.

Meanwhile on Blanc, Zadavia was speaking with Optimatus.

"I can't believe that you assembled a new team of Loonatics, Zadavia!" Optimatus said. "They're amateurs who are going to get killed!"

"I thought that as well," Zadavia said, "but each of them had a high amount of power inside of them. By working together and training, they might become stronger."

"That depends if any of them don't get turned into mincemeat during a mission." He said.

"Believe me, brother," she stated, "they'll prove themselves to be suitable Loonatics, even if they aren't the real deal. Besides, Ace and the others are taking turns watching after them."

Note: Why wouldn't Optimatus be here? I mean, the dude became a good guy in the final episode. Also, John has not had the best life since his sister was killed. Needless to say, you might root for the stag when he finds the killer. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
