The Man Who'll Become the King of the Pirates

On a calm and peaceful day at Foosha village, a pirate ship has been anchored for a full year. A small young boy is found standing at the top of the figurehead of the vessel with a small dagger in his right hand. That little boy's name is Monkey D. Luffy, who has made friends with this pirate crew within the year that they have been at the Village. Luffy is wearing a white t-shirt with a blue anchor and a pair of blue jean shorts. Luffy's looking down at all of his friends when he begins to show them just how brave he is. Luffy's hope is that after he does this, then they'll take him on one of their voyages.

"HEY SHANKS," Luffy yells at the top of his lungs to be heard by the crew below him.

Shanks a man with red hair and a straw hat on top of his head, he also has a scar of three lines over his left eye, he has a whie dress shirt buttoned half way up with a red sash wareing dark gray pants and has a clack cap with a sword to his right and black sandals. The rest of his crew including the officers Been Beckman the vice-captain with grayish blue hair has a purple cape with a black v-neck shirt and a sash of yellow with khaki pants and a pair of boots he also cares a rifle with him, Lucky Roux who looks overweight wears a bandana of green with white strips with goggles and almost always has a chunk of meat in his hand, the same with his shirt as the bandana, he dons a blue sash khaki pants and red shoes, and Yasopp who has blonde hair that are in brads wears a black vest with a olive green long sleeve shirt dons a lightish red sash and light blue almost white pants with black sandals all look up to see the boy.

"Oi Luffy, what are you doing up there" Shanks yells back to the small boy.

"I'm so pissed right now, and i'm going to prove it to you and show you all just how serious I am," Luffy yelled back but this time not at the top of his lungs.

"Do it, Luffy, even though I don't really know what you're going to do," Shanks yelled.

Luffy then took the dagger that's in his hand and held it out in front of him. He gets ready to stab his cheek right under his left eye without a second thought. Luffy, in one motion, then stabs himself in the face and yells out a crying "OOOOOOUCH." At this, all of the crew members start to freak out at what they just watched Luffy do. The crew gets Luffy back to the Party's Bar after patching up his cheek from where he stabbed himself. The whole crew was now parting because of the pride Luffy has for them and their last voyage.

"Hey, Shanks, do you think now that I have shown you how brave I am?" asked Luffy. But was cut off by Shanks.

"Sorry, Luffy, but you're just too young. I would consider taking you with us on some little voyage if you were like 9 or 10, but I can't in good mind, and free-will take you with us when you're just 7," Shanks said with a small smile on his face.

"Oh come on, Shanks, I can handle myself, you know i'm not afraid of anything," Luffy said with a big grin on his face.

"I said no, Luffy, I'm sorry, but I won't, so stop asking," Shanks said with a frown on his face.

...A Couple of days later…

The crew was back in the bar drinking away as Shanks, Luffy and Makino were all talking and having fun. When Luffy started to bug Shanks again to take him with his crew on a Voyage, and then Shanks looked Luffy in the eyes and said, "how can you tell me to take you when I don't even know if you can hit someone and win in a fight? Luffy quickly stood up on the barstool where he was sitting and yelled: "you want to see how hard I can hit Shanks!" Shanks never took his eyes off Luffy and then said in a calm and low voice: "show me how hard you can hit Luffy, and maybe i'll change my mind about taking you with me." Shanks said that with a grin almost as big as Luffy's was right now. Luffy pulled his arm back and put every bit of strength he has and all of his emotions into his one punch. He knew that this could be the turning point for him to set out and start a pre-journey to becoming a Pirate. As Luffy swung at Shanks, his arm turned black right as it made contact with Shanks's face and sent him flying into the wall right behind him about a good 15 feet and went through the wall. The whole bar got quiet as they watched their captain get punched so hard that he went through the wall and by Luffy of all people.

"He just used Busoshoku Haki," Shanks mumbled to himself as he slowly started to sit up and dust himself off from the dirt and rubble of the now crushed wall.

"The Color of Arms and at such a young age too," Benn Beckman said in a low voice so that only he could hear with a slight smirk on his face.

Shanks got up and walked over to his first mate and said, "Benn we're taking Luffy one way or another, we'll be coming back in two years and have him join us so we can teach him. He'll be 9 at that point, so just to be safe, we'll stay in the four blues and teach him how to be a Captain and other useful things like swordsmanship and marksmanship. We'll do that until he's about 11 or 12, then we'll head for the grand line and start his real training," Benn knows at this point there's no way he'll be able to talk Shanks out of this, not that he wanted to, and especially with what Luffy said next.

"See, Shanks, I told you my punches are as strong as pistols, but i've changed my mind i don't want to be like you because i'm going to be greater than you, and i'll be the one to find the ONE PIECE AND BECOME THE NEXT KING OF THE PIRATES… you hear me, Shanks i'll be a better pirate than even you!", Luffy stated without any doubt in his mind with the biggest grin on his face ever seen by man.

"A little runt like you to be the next king of the pirates get real, kid, someone like you can never become a pirate, let alone the king of then," someone said as the door to the bar was kicked in.

"What did you say?" Luffy said in a low and mad voice with his hair slightly covering his eyes. "That's my dream now, and here you are putting my dream down."

"You head me kid, now sit down and cool your jets. I've only come for some sake, now you woman; go and fetch me about 12 barrels of sake now".

"I'm sorry sir, but we just ran out of sake," Makino said

"Oh, I'm sorry I guess my friends and I have drunk the place dry, but you can have this unopened bottle," Shanks said as he was sitting back down next to Luffy.

"What do I look like to you? I'm Higuma, the leader of the Higuma Bandits and were not like you sea dwellers were mountain bandits," Higuma said; then, he pulled out a poster with his face on it and said, '' Look at this. I have an 8 million Beil bounty on my head".

As Higuma said that he took the bottle of sake and broke it open over Shanks, and Shanks then looked at him and started to clean it up as he said, "look what you've done. You made a mess," Makino then ran over to Shanks and said, "please don't worry about that, Shanks i'll clean it up." "Oh, so you like to clean well, then clean this up as well. He pulled out his sword and slashed the counter with multiple drinks on it and made an even bigger mess, and cut Makino in the arm. Luffy then jumped up and yelled, "YOU JACKASS, YOU CUT MAKINO" Before anyone knew what was happening, Luffy's arm turned black again. He jumped while screaming, and hit Higuma in the face. Then he screams again while flying in the air at Higuma, "YOU'LL PAY FOR HURTING MAKINO," as a wave of Haoshoku Haki went flying and knocked all of the mountain Bandits out along with some of Shanks' weaker members of the crew.

Both Shanks and Benn yelled in their head "What the hell... THE COLOR OF THE SUPREME KING TOO AND ONLY 7 YEARS OLD."

Higuma was sent flying through the bar making a new whole in the wall as his men stayed still on the ground unconscious. Luffy then sat down and saw a fruit in a box that is the shape of a pineapple that is bright red for the base color with raised "S" shape patterns on it in a deep violet with what looks like red and black sparks filling in the gaps of where the "S" patterns dont touch showing the bright red of the fruit. Shanks then looked up and saw that Luffy was eating and smiled at the excellent job Luffy did. 'I guess he can handle himself after all.' Shanks thought to himself. Shanks then stood up, and Luffy finished off the fruit he was eating. Shanks then saw that the Devil Fruit wasn't in the box and was missing.

"Luffy, did you just eat the fruit that was in that box?" Shanks questioned

"Ya, and it was gross; where did you get it, Shanks?" Luffy questioned

Just as Luffy was done talking, Shanks went to grab Luffy, but his hands went right through him as his body turned to red colored lightning and sent a shock throw Shanks whole body with sending him flying. "Shanks what just happened w-w-where did my body go!" Luffy screamed in a scared yet excited way. "Damn it, Luffy, you just ate Devil Fruit." Shanks started as he got p from the ground yet again and by Luffy once again, "It gives the eater weird powers but takes away their ability to swim. The fruit that you just ate was the Aka kaminari gomu no mi. That makes you a red lightning rubber person? You have the powers of rubber and red lightning." Shanks finished while sighing and taking a seat once again next to Luffy. Once everything calmed down the Red Haired Pirate Crew went back to partying while Shanks. Luffy and Makino tried their best not to talk about what just happened.

...Later that day…

Shanks was looking for Luffy to talk to him about what he just did in the bar, when the bandits came. Shanks found Luffy, but what he found was not what he was expecting at all and to put it simply it was a sad site for any friend to see. Luffy was trying to play with the other kids in the village but, he kept getting call a monster and told that hes just to weird, that hes dumb and all kinds of names. For what reason Shanks had no idea, so he walked around as asked people why the other kids were being so mean to Luffy while keeping his anger down the best he could. After a while Shanks asked a group of villagers who were willing to talk to him, why all of the kids hated Luffy and what he was told made him even mader. It's only because Luffy is a strong willed kid and wouldn't give up on living because of what his Grandpa put him through. Who would throw him into a jungle or forest or even into a canyon and live him there for weeks to live on his own. They also informed him of one time where he tied a bunch of balloons to him and let him go flying until the balloons all popped and he fell. Shanks found Luffy again when it was night in the forest all alone and went to comfort him and maybe tell him about haki. Shanks also found out why Luffy wanted to go with them so badly and it was simple because they are really kinda the only friends he has other than Makino. It's not only the fact that he wants to go to have fun, but he wants to be accepted by others and his whole crew accepts Luffy for who he is.

...About a week later, still at the bar…

Luffy and Makino were in the bar talking about Shanks when the mountain bandits came back and saw the kid there. The leader ran up on the kid with his sword out full of anger and went to chop off his head, but as he did, his sword went right through Luffy's neck as more red lightning coming from his body and melting his sword at the middle and making the sword half of what it use to be also with no harm done to Luffy.

"What the hell are you, kid," Higuma said.

"Well, from what Shanks told me i'm a red lightning rubber person," Luffy said with a big smile on his face.

As they were about to run away, one of the bandits handed their leader a pair of sea-prism stone handcuffs to put on Luffy. When that was done, Luffy felt weaker than ever did before and was pulled out of the bar just as Makino got food for Luffy, and was walking to the front of the bar to give Luffy his food. The bandits then began to beat up Luffy, and most of the Village pleaded for them to stop saying that he's just a kid. Makino ran and got the mayor of the town and he was offering them money, food, sake, anything if they let the young boy go.

"No one come to greet us at the port… so I wondered why?" said Shanks

"Captain-san!" Makino said surprised

"Oi Luffy… I thought your punches were as strong as pistols?" Shanks asked

"Shut up!" Luffy yelled weakly at Shanks

Shanks started to walk forward to get closer to Luffy. When a pistol was pointed to his head. Shanks stood there waiting for the man to speak up as he did. "Boss told you not to step further and I'll blow your head off if I have to," said the bandit with the pistol to Shanks head.

"Would you risk your life... now that you've drawn your pistol are you willing to use it" Shanks said.

"What in the Hell are you talking about?" asked the bandit.

"I'm saying that guns aren't for threats… they're for actions" Shanks said as Lucky Roux pulled back his trigger after aiming it at the bandits head. The bandits started to yell " they fight dirty" just as yasopp said back "Dirty?" And Benn contionaled "who did you think you were dealing with? We never claimed to be Saints or anything." Just as Shanks finished their little speech "you fella are staring down a crew of pirates." Another bandit spoke up "we just want the boy not you."

"Listen up bandits whether im sprayed with alcohol or doused with food hell even if im spit on most of the time i'll just laugh it off and forget about it, but if you heard a friend of mine you'll pay for it regardless of your reason" Shanks said in a serious tone

"Shanks" Luffy said in his head

"So we're goin to pay lousy pirates... kill them all men" Higma said with a laugh.

"I'll take care of this shouldn't be a big deal," Benn said as to took out all of the bandit but the leader "you shouldn't get too cocky if you really wanted to fight us looks like a battleship or something bigger would have been more useful" Benn said to the last bandit standing.

Higma then freaks out and throws a smoke bomb and leaves with Luffy. Out in the cove Higma is holding Luffy over the water. "Dumb pirate will never think about looking for a mountain bandit out in the water" Higma saids as he throws Luffy into the water. A huge sea King then comes out of the waters and eats Him whole and glares over to Luffy starting to sink into the water. Shanks then aparis out of nowhere and grabs Luffy while the sea king tries to eat Luffy but misses and only gets Shanks left arm. Shanks then glares at the sea king and saids "Get Lost" as he releases Haoshoku Haki.

"Are you alright Luffy?" Shanks askes to the now crying Luffy "Luffy What's wrong?" Shanks also asked because the boy is crying.

"S-shanks your armmmm" Luffy yells while crying his eyes out.

Luffy, it's just an arm. I'm more worried about you" Shanks saids with a smile on his face, seeing that Luffy is ok.

… Back at the village...

Shanks gets his arm packed up and then goes to check on Luffy. After checking on Luffy he gets his men ready to leave. As all of the Red Haired Pirates get the Ship ready to leave Shanks and Benn talk to Makino and ask if she could help out when they come back to take Luffy to train him. She saids yes of course and then they all started to leave. Luffy runs up to Shanks.

"Are you really leaving for good Shanks?" Luffy askes.

"Ya it's been fun but we need to get back the the Grand Line" Shanks saids

"Shanks, can you please take me with you and train me so when I have a crew of my own I can keep them safe like you do" Luffy asks with so much hope in his heart.

"Right now no i can't but tell you what Luffy because of why you want to come with us i'll be back in two years time when you're 9 and i'll take you with us to train you how that sound." Shanks said with a big smile on his face.

Luffy looks up to Shanks with the biggest smile on his face ever and saids "sounds great and ill train really hard until then Shanks… oh and Shanks don't think that just because your helping me train means i'll go easy on you when i'm older and we fight because I'M GOING TO BECOME THE KING OF THE PIRATES AND HAVE A BETTER CREW THEN YOURS" Luffy says still having that smile on his face.

Shanks looks down to Luffy and takes off his straw hat and places it on his head and saids "in that case hold onto this for me it's my most precious treasure so take good care of it and when you claim, the title of Pirate King give it back to me in the same condition its in now got it" Shanks said while walking to his ship and waving bye to everyone.

Well there's the new Chapter one The Man Who'll Become the King of the Pirates please review and comment hoping you all like it still. I know a lot still happened but I still wanted to get all of Shanks and young Luffy out in one chapter. Next Luffy meets Nami and her family again lol.
