AN: I really need to work on my Paw Patrol fics, but I'm really invested in this story. Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well. First things first I forgot that Brooke's last name is actually "Harrison" in Count the Ways, so I went back to the prologue and fixed that mistake. Things start to get interesting in this chapter.
I don't own Danganronpa or FNAF
The same Toreador March chime from last night was the same noise to wake Gabe up the next morning. With groggy eyes, the boy glances over to the TV to see MonoFreddy at the same desk only with a huge stack of pancakes in front of him, fork and knife in hands.
"GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!" the half-and-half bear greeted with booming energy. "IT IS NOW SEVEN AM. TIME TO WAKE UP AND GET THE JUMP OUT OF YOUR DAY!" The screen then flickered off, leaving Gabe in silence once more. The boy sat up and swung his legs over the edge of the bed, stretching while letting out a great yawn. The only times he's ever woken up this early was on Saturdays when his favorite cartoons would come on, other than that he usually didn't get up for another half hour.
Speaking of hour, Gabe had one left until he had to officially meet everyone else in the dining area for breakfast. Though with nothing else to really do he might as well go and wait early. However, when he went to turn the doorknob, he discovered that it wouldn't budge. Confused, the boy jiggled the knob a few times but it still wouldn't open. "Don't tell me it's broken," he grumbled.
"BZZZZ, WRONG ANSWER KIDDO!"
If Gabe hadn't just woken up, he would've jumped back in surprise from MonoFreddy suddenly popping up in front of him. The bear animatronic looked at Gabe with the same expression it always had on. "THE DOOR AIN'T BROKEN! IT'S NOT LIKE IT DOESN'T FIT ITS FRAME PROPERLY, I MADE SURE TO TRIPLE CHECK THE BLUEPRINTS BEFORE ACTUALLY BUILDING THESE DORMS FOR YOU GUYS!" he boomed.
"So then why can't I open the door then?" Gabe asked.
"BECAUSE I LOCKED IT." The boy was about to ask why but the bear explained it. "IN YOUR ROOM I'VE HIDDEN A PLUSHIE OF A FAZBEAR CHARACTER AND I WANT YOU TO FIND IT. I WON'T LET YOU LEAVE UNTIL YOU DO!"
Gabe was understandably puzzled by this request. "Are you making the others do this too?"
"NOPE, JUST YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE SPECIAL!" Without further explanation, MonoFreddy jumped over the boy, disappearing when Gabe looked back behind him. He sighed, guess he was going to have kill some time looking for that plushie. Though it shouldn't really take so long as the room wasn't too big to really hide anything.
Sure enough, he soon found the plushie in the corner of the closet. It was of Foxy the pirate, the cutest the animatronic has and ever will look. Gabe could hear a click sound and realized that his door had been unlocked, allowing him to finally leave his room. When he got to the dining area, he discovered that he wasn't the first one there. "Good morning, Gabe!" Cassidy beamed, waving at him. Sitting next to her was Charlotte who nodded in acknowledgement, at the end of the table was Gregory.
"Morning, you all are here early," Gabe said as he took a seat across from Cassidy.
"It's not just us, Susie and Brooke are in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone," Gregory explains.
"Oh, well shouldn't we go and help them?"
"We tried to offer them some assistance, but they claim they have everything handled," explained Cassidy.
Gabe nodded in understanding, the four of them waiting for the others to arrive. By the time it was eight, more people did indeed show up.
"Morning everyone," greeted Jeremy who was followed by Sarah, Evan, Elizabeth, and Oswald.
"We agreed to meet at eight, but it seems you guys decided to come early," Oswald says.
"Don't worry about it, at least you guys are on time," responded Gregory.
Twenty minutes later, Susie and Brooke came out of the kitchen with trays full of pancakes and French toast. "Good morning everyone!" Susie practically sang out as she set down some trays on the table. "We made pancakes for everyone, so help yourselves to as much as you can eat!"
"Alright, I love pancakes!" cheered Jeremy. He was about to reach for a plate when Cassidy stopped him.
"Wait a moment! It's quite rude to begin eating when everybody isn't present yet," she claims.
The boy with glasses pouted at her. "But pancakes are the best when they're hot!" he whines.
The Ultimate Golden Girl gives him a stern glare like a parent would for their child and Jeremy shrank back in his seat.
"Where is everyone?" asks Brooke, looking at the empty seats. "It's well past the agreed meetup time..." Right as she said that, someone entered the room.
"Hey..." Millie says as she made her way towards the group. "Sorry I'm late, I'm not really a morning person so it takes me some time to get going at the start of the days."
The Ultimate Veterinarian smiles at the goth. "Oh, Millie, I'm glad to see you!"
The purple haired girl gives her a skeptical look. "You are?" she asks.
The blonde teen was holding a plate of pancakes in her hands. "At dinner yesterday I noticed you didn't eat any of the pizza nor did you eat any sandwiches that had meat in them. You're a vegetarian, aren't you?" Millie doesn't say anything, but she does give a small nod. "Well I made these pancakes especially for you, they don't have eggs or dairy in them!"
She hands the plate over to the goth girl who looked down at them, unsure of what to make out of it. "Uh, thanks...I guess?" she responds. Brooke smiled brightly at the gratitude before returning to her seat.
"Ooh, pancakes!"
Fritz was the next person to enter the dining area with Alec following after. The former rushed over to the table with great speed, grabbing a plate of flapjacks and began to wolf them down with his bare hands. Alec watched him with disgust. "Jesus Christ dude, use some utensils at least!" the curly blonde boy scolded.
Cassidy was absolutely shocked at what she was witnessing. "Fritz! Please stop!" she cried out. "Not only are you displaying a lack of table manners, but not everyone is here yet to eat!"
The redhead slowed down his eating to shoot his defense. "Mpgh fhum rshmu fulhum!" he argued.
"Uh...does anyone know what he just said?" asked Sarah who had a confused expression.
"He said, 'But pancakes are the best when they're hot!'," Susie translated, she was also eating her portion of breakfast, much to Cassidy's horror.
"That's exactly what I said!" Jeremy pipped up. He then began eating his stack too, disregarding the Golden Girl's earlier stare.
Brooke looked over at Cassidy, giving her a weak smile. "It's okay, Cassidy. While it may not be fair to eat when everyone isn't here, it's also not fair that we can't eat because a few people are late."
"Who's running late now?"
Dylan had just entered, hands in his pockets as he strutted. When he saw everyone staring at him, he quickly put two and two together. "Oh, shoot, my bad for keeping you guys waiting. I did wake up a few minutes before eight, but I take long showers."
"Okay, that has to be everyone, right?" asked Oswald.
"Actually...Jessica isn't here yet..." Elizabeth answered out loud.
Cassidy's lips quivered, everyone else was eating their pancakes, but she still refused to eat her share until everyone was here. More time passed and it was soon nine, all but two plates had their food eaten.
"Huh, it sure is taking Jessica a long time to show up," Dylan pointed out.
Fritz crossed his arms. "I know girls take a long time to get ready in the morning-not trying to be offensive-but even this is too long."
Sarah gave the redhead a dirty glare. "Way to sound sexist..."
"I said I wasn't trying to sound offensive!"
Evan had been quiet for most of breakfast, eating his food in peace, but his eyes suddenly widened and his whole body went rigged, his sister noticed this. "What's up bro?" she asked.
The Ultimate Crybaby had begun shaking in fear, slowly turning towards Elizabeth. "Wh-Wh-What if J-Jessica is d-d-d-d..."
While the boy was stuttering, especially towards the end, everyone knew what he was about to say:
What if Jessica was dead?
A haunting silence filled the air. That's not true, that couldn't be true. Had someone really played this sick game and killed another person?
"Wow, you guys are quiet today."
Once more, everybody turned-with great sighs-when they saw none other than Jessica walking over towards them. Some were relieved that she was okay, however others were miffed at her for giving them all a scare. "Where the heck were you?!" exclaims Gregory, his brows furrowed. "We thought something bad happened to you!"
"Pfft, as if I'd let one of you losers off me in my sleep," Jessica replied nonchalantly.
"We have been waiting for more than an hour for you to appear, it's very rude to keep people waiting you know?" Cassidy scolded. "Please don't tell me you've been asleep this entire time?"
The Ultimate Coder rolled her eyes in annoyance. "If you must know: I didn't wake up until eight-thirty. Then I spent the next half hour showering and getting dressed. By the way, would it kill that stupid bear to give me more outfits? Wearing the same clothes everyday is totes lame and dorky."
Charlotte stared at the blonde teen with a look that wasn't too harsh, but not really kind either. "Jessica, it's important that we meet here at the agreed time. Not only to discuss our next plan of action, but to also make sure that everyone is accounted for. Jessica doesn't say anything, instead sitting at the last available spot at the table and eating her pancakes. Cassidy, joyed that everyone was now finally present, began eating as well.
"Okay, so what do we do now?" Elizabeth asked, looking around at the others.
"Are we going to have to explore again?" added Evan.
Gregory nodded. "We have to, there has to be something to help us get out of here."
"But we checked practically every nook and cranny! We came up with nothing!" exclaims Fritz.
"Well, there is the second floor..." Gabe adds, remembering that event from yesterday. "But the doors are locked and we can't open them with force unless we want MonoFreddy to hurt us."
"So what you're basically saying is we're screwed?" Jessica snorted. "So glad I woke up for this..."
"Hey, come on now, we can't be so negative about this!" declares Dylan, clenching a fist. "We can't just give up! Maybe there's something in here we can use to contact the outside?"
Suddenly Susie's face lit up with an idea. "Oh, Jessica, you're the Ultimate Coder! Maybe you can fiddle with your HandPass and turn it into a phone or something!"
Some of the others liked this idea a lot, voicing their approval before Jessica shut them all down. "Um, news flash, didn't I tell you yesterday that I stink at coding? That coding tittle is just a dumb alias that bear gave me. Besides, I only know how to give basic directions to computers and robots."
"Robots...so could you hack MonoFreddy then?" asked Alec, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh hell no! That's the stupidest thing I've heard and the day just begun! First off I'd need to connect him to a laptop with a cable and we don't have either of those things. Plus I don't want to go anywhere near that monochrome freak." Jessica had miraculously finished her food in the short time she's been here, standing up to exit. "Now then, I'm off. This has been a huge waste of time..."
The high school sophomore left the dining area leaving the other fifteen participants at the table. Jeremey set down his utensils and scratched his head. "Well, that could've gone better," he mutters.
Gregory sighs in great annoyance. "Man, what a jerk. First she's an hour late to the meeting and then she doesn't even want to try and help in escaping."
"She's scared, Gregory," Charlotte says out loud, getting everyone's attention. "We all are, it's only natural that some of us may not be up to task with what we're dealing with."
"But if we all just worked together, surely we'll be able to escape...right?" asked Cassidy.
"Of course, if we work together we can escape," Brooke tells her, however her face said that she was quite uncertain. There was still the possibility of someone going behind their backs lingering in the air.
One by one, the participants of the Fazbear Entertainment killing game began leaving the dining area with some people staying behind to wash their dishes. After cleaning his, Gabe decided to explore the daycare Sarah had mentioned at dinner last night, perhaps he could find something the others had missed. On the way there, he noticed a gift shop and decided to make a detour. The inside had shelves filled to the brim with toys designed off Freddy and Friends, if Gabe weren't trapped in a mall he would've found all of this stuff to be amazing.
What caught the boy's eye was the back of the room. Instead of a counter, there was a big black and white gumball dispenser filled to the brim with capsules of vibrant colors. He went up to it and began inspecting it, wondering how to get a capsule out since he didn't have any money.
"INCREDIBLE, ISN'T IT?"
Gabe couldn't help but to jump when MonoFreddy suddenly appeared again, the boy thought he'd be used to it by now. The half-and-half bear tilted its head at the boy before straighten it up again. "I SEE YOU'RE THE FIRST ONE TO FIND THE GIFT SHOP!" screeched the bear.
"Gift shop?" Gabe repeated. He then realized something. "Wait, how am I the first to discover this place, I thought Sarah checked this area out yesterday?"
"OH SHE DID, HOWEVER THIS PLACE WAS SEALED OFF AS I WAS STILL WORKING ON IT. CONSTRUCTION FINISHED RIGHT AFTER YOU ALL WENT TO BED LAST NIGHT."
"Okay...so what exactly is this place for?"
"IT'S A PLACE WHERE YOU SHOP FOR GIFTS, IT'S IN THE NAME YOU DUMMY! THOUGH YOU CAN'T REALLY BUY ANYTHING HERE EXCEPT FOR THE GIFT CAPSULES FROM THE MONO-MACHINE."
Gabe raised an eyebrow. "Mono-Machine?"
"WHAT ARE YOU, A PARROT? STOP REPEATING EVERYTHING I'M SAYING!" MonoFreddy screeched, raising its arms up as if to strike the boy, though he doesn't actually do that. "ANYWAYS, SINCE YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON TO DISCOVER THE GIFT SHOP, YOU'VE EARNED A SPECIAL PRIZE!" The animatronic clapped its hands together and five golden coins suddenly appeared from thin air and landed in Gabe's hands. Upon closer inspection, the boy discovered that the coins were actually Fazbear tokens used to play games, only instead of Freddy's smiling face, it was MonoFreddy's. "THESE HERE ARE MONOCOINS, USEABLE HERE ONLY AT THE MONO-MACHINE! YOU KNOW, I'M BEING VERY GENEROUS IN GIVING AWAY THESE FIVE. THERE ARE MORE COINS SCATTERED ABOUT THE PIZZAPLEX AND YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR THEM, JUST LIKE THOSE PLUSHIES I TOLD YOU TO FIND. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE AND THOSE IS THAT EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO FIND COINS AND USE THE MACHINE."
Before Gabe could ask any questions, like why he was the only one allowed to search for the plushies, MonoFreddy disappeared through a trap in the floor. The boy looked at the coins in his hand and then back at the gift dispenser, it couldn't hurt to try it at least. He inserted a coin and turned the knob a few times, the machine rumbling before popping out a capsule. When Gabe opened it, he was shocked by how big the first item was compared to the casing it was in, how it was crammed in there was some sort of anomaly. After getting over it, he spent the rest of the coins and inspected every item he got:
Ballora's Makeup Box
A makeup kit filled with lipstick, blush, mascara and other cosmetics in pastel colors. While it's intended purpose is for clowns to decorate their faces, one can use lighter applications to pretty themselves up.
Guitar Keychain
A keychain shaped like Montgomery's bass. You can pluck the little keychains to make some music.
Pizza Kit
A kit for designing pizzas of your own desires, it's filled with top quality ingredients and tools. Loved by those who enjoy cooking, eating, or both.
Mourning Necklace
An intricate locket holding hair of someone who died long ago. It's made of dark brass and has swirling thorn designs around the centerpiece.
Delilah & Springtrap
A children's book about a girl and a Fazbear Family Diner character. It's very wholesome with bright, vivid colors on every page.
Gabe stared at the items he received for a long time. He didn't think he'd have any use for them, but figures that the others might like these if he gave them to the right people. He was about to leave the gift shop, but he noticed something poking from behind the Mono-Machine on the floor. Picking it up, it was another hidden plushie, this one being Glamrock Chica.
The boy finally left the gift shop, but the moment he did he ran into someone else. "Oh, hey Sarah," he greeted.
The girl in overalls smiled at him. "Hi Gabe," she replies before noticing the area he came out of. "What is this place?" The boy quickly recaps what MonoFreddy told him. "Oh, I see now. This place was very different from when I checked it out yesterday so that's why I didn't recognize it."
Gabe nodded and then a thought came to his head. "Say, Sarah, do you want to hang out for a bit?" he asked.
"Sure, what do you want to do?"
"We could just walk around and talk."
The girl nodded and the two proceeded to spend a good amount of time walking around the Pizzaplex and talking. When they finished, they sat by the golden Glamrock Freddy statue to rest. An idea came to Gabe and he decided to give the teen the makeup box. That had been a smart decision because the moment he did, Sarah's face lit up. "Wow, I can really have this? Thanks Gabe, that's really nice of you!" she thanked the boy.
Gabe smiled at making the older girl happy, deciding to continue a conversation with her. "So, Sarah, what's your life like?" he asked.
"Oh, well I live with my parents and I have an older brother named Scott, he's a sophomore in college," the overall girl began explaining. "I'm in high school myself and let me tell you, enjoy your last year in elementary Gabe, because it gets hard in middle and high school."
"How was it like for you before summer vacation?" Gabe asks.
The brown-haired girl shrugs. "I mean, I'm no straight A student, but I did alright." Sarah then sighs and looks away, something clearly bothering her.
"Are you alright?"
"Hm? Oh, I'm fine I was just thinking about the Beautifuls."
A puzzled look came across Gabe's face. "Who are the Beautifuls?" he asked.
"They're three of the most popular girls in my school, they're also the prettiest if their tittle didn't give that away," Sarah explains. "Everything they do, no matter how mundane or simple it is so amazing and graceful. Everyone loves them." A dreamy look appeared on the teen's face. "That's why I want to be beautiful too, so I can get the same attention that they get."
"Did you ever try to hang out with those girls?"
Sarah shifted her eyes, an embarrassed look on her face. "Sort of, one time I sat at their table during lunch and it didn't really go well..."
"Did they make fun of you or something?"
The girl shook her head. "No, the opposite actually, they didn't even notice me! For half an hour I waited for one of the Beautifuls to hopefully talk to me, and they never knew I was there! When they finished eating, they just got up and left." Sarah slumped forward, letting out a sigh. "It gets worse if you can believe it. I was on my way to throw away my trash when I tripped and spilled my salad on this boy I really like."
Gabe bit his bottom, that did sound embarrassing. "Did you apologize?"
"Well, I was so upset that I didn't know whether to say, 'I'm sorry!' or, "Are you okay?". So in a panic I accidentally yelled, 'Are you sorry!?' Everyone in the cafeteria laughed at me and I ran out of there crying, I've never been so humiliated in my life!"
Gabe looked away, if something like that happened to him he'd feel terrible too. "Did you apologize to him later though?"
Sarah looked dejected. "That's the thing, I know I have to but every time I see him now I lose the courage to do so. Maybe if I'm lucky everyone will have forgotten all about it during the break."
That definitely sounded like a good plan, but was it the right course of action? "I don't think you should do nothing about it," Gabe began.
"What?"
"Pretending it didn't happen and hoping that everyone forgets isn't really going to help you." The boy turned towards the teen. "The first chance you get you should find this boy you like and properly apologize for the incident. Maybe he'll be cool with it and will ask you out to show that there's no hard feelings?"
A hopeful look appeared on Sarah's face, but it then quickly turned to worry. "But...what if he doesn't forgive me?"
"Then he doesn't deserve you. I mean, salad isn't that messy, so it's not like it'll ruin your clothes or anything, and it was an accident too. If you can't forgive someone for something so trivial then that really says something about you."
The overall girl thought about it for a moment then nodded. "That's actually some pretty good advice, I'll do it. Y'know for a kid you sure have some mature thoughts."
The two chatted for a little bit more before splitting ways, Gabe heading towards the dining area for lunch. There was one other person in the kitchen and it was none other than Susie, the blonde girl was kneading dough when Gabe entered. "Hiya, Gabe!" she chirped. "Do you 'knead' something?" she giggled at her pun.
"I was just making myself lunch, though I guess that won't be necessary," Gabe says. "Are you making lunch for everyone again?"
"Oh no, these two pizzas are for me, but I'll be more than happy to share with you if you help out!" the girl beams.
Gabe nearly did a double take when he heard that she was going to eat two whole pizzas herself, then again, she did eat three whole pizzas yesterday after dinner...
The two kids made pizza together, spreading the sauce and other toppings before popping them in the oven. When the food had finished cooking and was cool enough, the kids went to a table and ate. There wasn't much discussion, but that was mainly due to Susie stuffing her face every few seconds. Seriously, it was amazing how much this girl could eat and not be overweight, she must have a fast metabolism. After the kids finish eating, Gabe decided to give the blonde a gift, handing over the pizza kit.
"Thanks a lot, Gabe! I could definitely use this!" Susie thanked with glee. Gabe smiled, happy to have made her happy. "So hey, I never really asked this since we were so busy with investigating, but what's your family like?" Susie asked.
"My family?" Gabe repeated before shrugging. "Well it's just me and my parents, I don't have that many relatives from either side."
"No brothers or sisters, huh?" Susie placed an arm on the table and held her head on it.
"Nope, but I've never felt lonely or anything. I have a lot of friends and my parents spend a lot of time with me anyways."
The blonde girl smiles. "Well that's good to hear!"
The boy nodded. "How about you, what's your family like?"
"Oh they're the best!" Susie exclaims with new energy. "My dad works at this office job and my mom works at a daycare, oh and I have a little sister named Samantha! We do just about everything together like eating breakfast, playing games, stuff like that. Every Sunday after church we have brunch at this 80s style diner and it's fun every time!"
Gabe couldn't help but to smile, he couldn't help but to do so from the positivity Susie was emitting. "Sounds like you all get along."
"Oh we do, but not every family is perfect and mine does have its share of problems." The blonde was still smiling, though it was weaker than before. "Samantha and I get along in just about everything, except when it comes to toys."
Gabe raised an eyebrow. "What, do you girls not share or anything?"
Susie nodded. "Mhm, we fight whenever we both want to play with the same toy at the same time. It's especially bad when we're fighting over Gretchen." The girl wipes some crumbs off her face. "She's a doll I got when I was a baby, but when my sister was born mom and dad gave Gretchen to her and I didn't like that one bit, so I always took her back whenever they weren't looking. They get mad at me whenever Samantha cries over her saying I'm too old to be playing with that baby doll, but I'm not."
"How old is your sister compared to you?" Gabe asked.
"She's two years younger than me."
The nodded. "Okay yeah, that's a little silly of them saying you're too old for a doll."
"Thank you!" Susie raises her hands up. "Anyways my parents would always give Gretchen back to Samantha whenever I took it from her, so I've been hiding her in various places around my house."
"Has anyone ever found her?"
Susie's smile turned devious, frightening the boy a bit. "No, because everyday I put her in a new location and no one has ever found her. In fact before coming here to the Pizzaplex, I found a really good hiding spot that I feel I can keep her in from now on."
"Where is this spot?"
"In the bottom cabinet in my dad's home office, he never uses it and no one really goes in there but him, so Gretchen is safe from Samantha in there."
The two kids continued to talk for a bit before going on their separate ways. For the rest of the day, Gabe decided to be by himself, walking around aimlessly. He found a couple more Monocoins, but had decided to spend them at the gift shop another time. Dinner was uneventful, aside from talking to Susie, Fritz, Cassidy, and Jeremy. The brown haired boy returned to his room to shower and get ready for bed, by the time he finishes putting on his new set of clothes, the nighttime announcement came up once again.
"ATTENTION EVERYONE, IT IS NOW TEN O' CLOCK. NIGHTTIME HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! SLEEP TIGHT, DON'T LET THE BED BUGS BITE!"
Gabe wondered if the announcement was prerecorded, but MonoFreddy hadn't reminded everyone that the kitchen was locked, so that meant the bear did these messages lived. The let out a yawn, surprised he was so tired despite not really doing much today. Pulling up the blanket, he rolled over and fell fast asleep."
The Toreador March chime played over the intercom, the TV flickering to show MonoFreddy eating more pancakes. "GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!" the half-and-half bear screeched loudly. "IT IS NOW SEVEN AM. TIME TO WAKE UP AND GET THE JUMP OUT OF YOUR DAY!" The screen then flickered off, leaving Gabe in silence once more.
Morning already, time to get ready for today's meeting. When Gabe left his room, he ran into someone else. "Oh, morning, Gabe," Gregory greeted.
Gabe let out a small yawn before speaking. "Morning, Greg. Are you heading for the dining area?"
The other brown haired boy nodded. "Yeah, I was trying to wake Jessica up so we wouldn't have to wait on her like yesterday, but she isn't answering the door. She's either ignoring me or she's a heavy sleeper, though I'm inclined to believe that it's door number one."
Gabe tilted his head. "Nah, if she were ignoring you she would've opened the door and yelled at you for waking her up so early."
Gregory chuckled at this. "Yeah, that sounds more plausible."
Together the two boys walked to the dining area where they saw the same familiar crowd, Charlie and Cassidy were sitting at the same table as yesterday with Susie and Brooke in the kitchen working on breakfast. "Today they're making oatmeal," Charlotte explains as the two boys sat down. "And since they're making it for everyone it'll be a while before it's done."
"Hopefully everyone will be seated here before then," Cassidy says, remembering the previous day.
Gabe arched an eyebrow. "Why would a pizzeria have oatmeal?" he asked. "Doesn't that seem weird?"
"I theorized that it was for the employees that have to come in early to work," the Ultimate Golden Girl answers.
"Or it could be another meal option our captor has provided for us," Charlotte says as she crosses her arms. "Let's be honest: wouldn't you get sick of eating pizza and subs everyday?"
"Not unless you're Susie..." Gregory says under his breath, though no one else but Gabe heard him. Time passed and soon it was eight, Evan, Elizabeth, Oswald, Alec, Sarah, and Jeremy all arrived on the dot, just as they had yesterday. Everyone talked for a bit until the remaining people came which they did at intervals. First was the Ultimate Goth. "Sorry guys, again, I'm slow in the mornings," Millie apologized.
Next was the Ultimate Guitarist. "Late again? Dang, I really have to shorten my shower time..." he mumbled to himself.
Following afterwards was the Ultimate Gamer. "Woah, you guys are early today," Fritz states when he sees Dylan and Millie had arrived before him.
"We aren't early, you're late," Oswald tells him.
Fritz looked genuinely puzzled, he then gets a look at the clock and sees that it's forty minutes past eight. "Wha!? I overslept!?" he exclaims. "Oh man, sorry to keep you all waiting!"
"It's alright Fritz, you're here now and that's all that matters now," Cassidy tells him while smiling warmly.
Sarah looked around the whole table. "So with Fritz's that makes fifteen, meaning the only person we're waiting for is-"
"Is Jessica," the others finish in unison, some rolling their eyes in annoyance.
"Do we really have to wait for her?" Evan asked. He was holding his Fredbear plushie, giving it a good hug. "She wasn't very nice yesterday..."
"Yeah, that girl thinks she's all high and mighty compared to us," Millie scowls and flips up her hood. "Can't we just start the meeting without her?"
"It's important for all of us to be present at our morning meetups, Millie," Charlotte began, though it was addressed at everyone, not just the goth. "Getting along with one another may be difficult, but we need to if we want any chance of escaping."
Dylan rubbed the back of his neck. "I guess you're right, even if we get under each other's skin we're all still in this together."
Oswald nodded. "Right, we can all get along with each other for just a few more days until we get out of here."
At exactly nine, Jessica showed up in the dining area, though no one was really surprised by this. The Ultimate Coder took the same spot she sat in yesterday. "So where's the food?" she asked. "I figured breakfast would be ready by now."
As if on cue, the doors to the kitchen swung open and out came Susie and Brooke wheeling in a giant pot of oatmeal along with several bowls of fruit and spices. Everyone got a bowl and were served as much oatmeal as they wanted and could add berries, cinnamon, milk, or sugar. The oatmeal was perfect, not too lumpy, and not too watery either.
"So what's the plan for today?" Brooke asked once she took her own seat and bowl. "Do we have to keep searching?"
"I feel like we haven't been getting anywhere by doing that," Oswald says before taking a bite and swallowing. "If there was a way out we would've found it by now."
"So we're just going to have to wait until we're rescued then?" Elizabeth asked with a head tilt.
"At this point, we may have to consider that option," Charlotte says.
Fritz stirs blueberries around in his oatmeal. "At least it's not so bad, you know? We have an endless supply of food, games, and best of all: no school!"
"It's summer vacation, we wouldn't have school even if we weren't in this situation," Alec points out.
"I hope we get out of here before then," Jeremy taps the side of his bowl with his spoon. "Imagine telling your classmates how you spent your summer break trapped in a giant arcade place by some lunatic."
"WHY ARE YOU ALL STILL ALIVE!?"
Everyone snapped their heads towards the edge of the table where MonoFreddy had suddenly appeared, Evan and Sarah letting out a scream and jump as they had been close to him. The black and white bear still had that grin on his face, however its right eye was narrowed, clearly showing that it was angry.
"SERIOUSLY, IT'S BEEN TWO DAYS SINCE YOU'VE ALL BEEN STUCK IN HERE AND NOBODY IS DEAD YET!" the bear screeched. "I'D FIGURED ONE OF YOU PISS BABIES WOULD'VE SNAPPED BY NOW AND OFF ONE OF YOUR PLAYMATES!"
That's right, they were in a killing game, the biggest con to being trapped in the Pizzaplex. Gabe glared at MonoFreddy. "We're not going to play your sick game!" he declared, a bit surprised at his own bravado.
"T-that's right!" Cassidy joined in, determination in her eyes. "Murder is both illegal and morally wrong!"
"Asking us to hurt one another, that's a terrible thing to do!" Evan added, tears at the corner of his eyes.
Dylan made a fist at the robot captor. "Yeah, we're not going murder anyone!" he exclaims. "We may get on each other's nerves sometimes, but in the short time we've known each other, we've become good friends!" Jessica opened her mouth to say something, but she was quickly silenced by Brooke who clamped a hand over the coder's mouth. "There isn't anything you can do that'll prompt us to kill!"
MonoFreddy was silent for a moment, staring at the older redhead. "NOTHING I CAN DO YOU SAY?" he asked while tilting his head with a creak. He then began to giggle which sounded a bit girlish for something so menacing. "OH DYLAN, YOU JUST SAID THE MAGIC WORD OF THE DAY! I DIDN'T THINK I'D HAVE TO USE THIS SO SOON, BUT NO MATTER, IT IS WHAT IT IS."
Gregory narrowed his eyes. "What are you up to?" he demanded.
The bear animatronic wagged a finger at him. "UH UH UH, I CAN'T SPOIL THE SURPRISE NOW! I'VE GOT SOMETHING SPECIAL PLANNED, IT'LL GET THIS KILLING GAME ROLLING. JUST GIVE ME SOME TIME TO SET THINGS UP FIRST!" With that, MonoFreddy popped out before anyone could do something to stop him. Everyone looked at one another, trying to process what had just happened.
"Hey, so it's not just me that's wondering what MonoFreddy was talking about, right?" Fritz asked, scratching his head.
"No shit Sherlock, that's what we're all thinking..." Jessica replies, rolling her eyes. She earned a glare from Brooke was tired of her foul mouth.
"Something to get the killing game rolling, what does that mean now?" Oswald asked whilst rubbing his chin.
"It's most likely a motive," Charlotte states, earning everyone's stares.
"A motive?" Susie asks. "Sorry but I don't know what that means."
"A motive is something that encourages you to do a certain action," Cassidy defined the word. "For example, your parents rewarding you with ice cream for doing well on a test motivates you to study for it."
A sparkle appeared in the Ultimate Baker's eyes. "We're going to get ice cream!?" she asked excitedly.
"N-no, it was just an example..."
Realization appeared on Alec's face as he quickly understood the situation. "Woah, wait a minute! Are you saying that bear is going to give us a reason to kill one another?!" he exclaims, others widening their eyes at this revelation as well.
Charlotte nodded. "I believe that's very likely, as to what it is, I'm not sure. However we shouldn't spend what little time we have pondering about it as we'll see in due time."
The meeting ended and everybody washed their bowls before going off on their own. Nobody was smiling as the thought of MonoFreddy's plan ran through their minds. Gabe stood out of the dining area doing his best to calm himself. Perhaps hanging out with someone would help calm his nerves? He headed towards the restrooms and that's where he saw Millie talking to herself.
"I know Charlie said not to even acknowledge it, but I can't help but wonder what motive that robot has..." she mumbled.
"Uh, Millie?" Gabe spoke up, gaining her attention.
"Oh, hey, Gabe, do you need something?"
"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?"
The goth raised an eyebrow. "You actually want to spend time with me?"
"Um...if you don't mind?"
Silence.
"Alright, we can hang out for a bit."
The two, mainly Millie, spent some time discussing horror movies and whether the modern ones were better than the classics. When the goth finished the discussion, Gabe gave her a present, handing out the Mourning Necklace. "Wow, I can't believe you found something like this in here and that you're giving it to me. Thanks," the purple haired teen says.
"Hey Millie, I have a question if you don't mind me asking. "How do know Dylan and Brooke?"
Millie let out a sigh. "I knew one of you guys would ask me that..." she grumbles in annoyance. "But I guess I should tell you." The teen pauses for a bit to collect her thoughts before continuing. "The three of us all go to the same school, Brooke was in my U.S. Government class, although we never talked. I don't really have any friends and no one would talk to me because of my goth persona, 'Dracula's daughter' is what some people called me because they were making fun of me or because they actually didn't know my name." The girl shoved her hands into her hoodie pocket. "Anyways, one day in December, Dylan approached me at lunch and asked if he could sit with me. At first I thought it was some sort of trick by the popular kids and they were trying to prank me, but he was actually genuine about it. We talked and I discovered he was into the same dark stuff I was into despite what his looks suggested."
"Oh, so you two are friends then?" Gabe asked.
Millie glared at him. "I wasn't done yet, don't interrupt," she snapped.
"S-sorry!"
The goth relaxed a bit. "But you aren't wrong, Dylan and I became friends after that first meetup. Everyday we would hangout with each other, both at lunch school and after school too. We would chill at this café with really good bubble tea, the library to read poetry books..." Unbeknownst to the girl, she was smiling as she recalled the good times she spent with the redhead boy.
"So what happened that made you guys stop being friends then?" Gabe asked.
Millie's smile instantly vanished, staring at the boy with a harsh stare. She was contemplating telling the younger boy about the truth, but before she could even get a word out, Gabe interjected by raising his hands. "Um, if it's something personal or you don't want to tell me yet that's fine," he says.
The goth stared at him for bit before turning her head away. "Yeah, I don't really want talk about it. Maybe I'll tell you someday..."
The two said their goodbyes with Gabe heading back to the dorms to rest for a while. When he got there, he found a familiar boy in a windbreaker looking around on the floor. "Oswald, what are you doing?" Gabe asked.
The Ultimate Sketch Artist looked up at him. "Hey, Gabe, did you happen to see a pencil around here?" he asked.
"No," Gabe responds with a head shake. "Did you lose yours?"
"Yeah, I usually put it in the spiral of my notebook when I'm walking around but I guess it fell out along the way because I can't find it now."
"A LOST ITEM YOU SAY?"
MonoFreddy popped out of nowhere, scaring Gabe and Oswald when he appeared. The half-and-half bear put its hands on its sides and shook its head. "MAN, WITH HOW YOU KIDS NOWADAYS ALWAYS HAVE A SCREEN UP TO YOUR NOSES I'D FIGURED YOU'D ALREADY LEARNED ALL THE FEATURES OF YOUR HANDPASSES. BUT I YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT ASSUMING, IT MAKES AN ASS OUT 'YOU' AND 'UMING'!"
"What are you talking about?" Gabe asked.
"I'M HERE TO HELP OUR RESIDENT SKETCH ARTIST FIND HIS MISSING PENCIL. A SKECTHER WITHOUT A PENCIL IS LIKE MARIO WITHOUT HIS MOUSTACHE, OR LIKE AN INTERNET TROLL WITHOUT SOCIAL MEDIA!"
Oswald raised an eyebrow. "You're going to help me find my pencil?" he asked.
The animatronic waved a hand. "NOT ME, YOUR HANDPASS! AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL BIO IS A TAB CALLED 'LOST ITEM FINDER', IT'S AN APP THAT'LL LOCATE ANY PERSONAL BELONGING YOU'VE LOST WITHIN THE PIZZAPLEX, THAT ALSO INCLUDES THINGS OTHERS HAVE GIVEN TO YOU THAT YOU HAVEN'T USED YET!"
Oswald's eyes lit up. "Oh, so I just use this Lost Item Finder app to find where my pencil is?" he asks.
"YEP! IT'S SO SIMPLE THAT EVEN A NEWBORN INFANT CAN DO IT!" With that explained, the bear disappeared.
The boy in the windbreaker powered on his HandPass and followed MonoFreddy's instructions. "Oh, it says my pencil is back at the dining area where we ate," he tells Gabe before getting up and dashing out of the hall.
After that exchange, Gabe finally entered his room to rest, ploping himself onto the bed. However not even ten seconds after he does that, the TV flickers on with an image of MonoFreddy on screen. "ATTENTION ALL PARTICIPANTS: PLEASE REPORT TO THE CENTRAL STAGE AREA IMMEADIETLY, DON'T BE LATE!" the bear announced before the screen shut off again.
"You've got to be kidding me..." Gabe thought to himself as he got up from bed. He left his room only to run into someone else as he was doing so.
"Hey, Gabe, you saw the announcement too?" Susie asked.
"Yeah, and I'd just finally gotten the chance to rest," the boy groans.
The Ultimate Baker giggles. "Do you want to walk together?"
Gabe nodded and the two set for the main performance place, running into Fritz and Jeremy who joined them. When they got to the stage, there were already some people there with the rest coming in moments after them. Once everyone was present, MonoFreddy hopped out from behind the podium and landed on his feet like an Olympic gymnast. "ALRIGHT, YOU PISS BABIES ARE ALL RIGHT ON TIME, NICE HUSSLE!" the robot complimented.
"Just hurry up and tell us what the fuck you want already," Jessica huffed, crossing her arms.
"Yeah, I was teaching Jeremy how to play Pac-Man," Fritz announced while jabbing a thumb towards the boy with glasses. "Y'know he's never played it before?"
Charlotte leered at the robot captor, not a hint of kinship within her eyes. "Whatever it is you have planned bear, just show us already," she demanded.
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, SHEESH! KIDS THESE DAYS ARE SO IMPATIENT!" MonoFreddy shrieked. The animatronic fished out a remote and pushed a button, causing a giant screen to come up from the stage floor. "AS I'VE TOLD YOU ALL EARLIER: I HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR YOU."
"Oh, are we going to watch a movie!?" Elizabeth exclaims, bouncing up and down in place.
"I hope it's a Disney movie like Finding Nemo or Cars!" Fritz shouts out.
Alec glares at him. "I'm pretty sure you're the only person in the world who likes Cars..." he dejects.
"I'm hoping it's that new one, Luca," Cassidy admits with a smile.
The older teens as well as Gabe and Gregory knew that they weren't here to watch a movie, instead it would be something else worse. MonoFreddy's grin seemed to widen a bit. "YES, WE'RE GOING WATCH A SHORT LITTLE FILM I LIKE TO CALL, 'YOUR FIRST MOTIVE!'" he announced. With that he pushed the button on the remote and the screen flickered to life.
On it were various live camera feeds of people all tied or chained up, some of them were awake, but some weren't even conscience. And that's when the screams started.
"Mom!" screams Dylan in horror.
"Huh, grandpa!?" Millie exclaims with shock on her face.
"Michael!" the Afton siblings scream in unison.
"...Hazel?" Alec asks as he recognizes his younger sister's face.
"Holy shit, Britney?!" Jessica gasps upon seeing her crying best friend on screen.
"Oh my God, grandma..." Cassidy covers her mouth, unable to comprehend seeing her tied up elder.
Jeremy's jaw dropped. "Mr. Saptun!" he yells at the man who was glaring harshly at the camera.
During the commotion of screams and protests, Gabe was silent as his eyes scanned around the screen in awaiting dread. However, it slowly faded away as he realized something.
"Hey, I don't see anyone I know here," Susie says out loud which gains the other's attention.
"Yeah, same here," Fritz scratches his head.
The others such as Oswald, Sarah, and Brooke also admit that no one they knew was up on screen. There were only two other people who didn't make mention to this. The first was Gregory who was staring at the screen with no emotion, a bit strange Gabe noted. The second person was Charlotte who returned her gaze back to MonoFreddy. "What is the meaning of this?" she asks.
"IT'S TO ENCOURAGE YOU KIDS TO PLAY THE KILLING GAME SILLY!" MonoFreddy answers, his grin getting even wider as he holds a hand out towards the screen. "IF YOU COULDN'T ALREADY GUESS: THIS IS THE 'HOSTAGE MOTIVE'!"
"H-hostage motive?" Brooke repeats, her pupils shrunken a bit.
"CORRECT! AS SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED, THERE ARE SOME FAMILIAR PEOPLE THAT I HAVE PRISONER HERE WITHIN THE PIZZAPLEX!"
"Wait, why do only half of us have hostages but the rest of us don't?" Gabe asks. While he was grateful his parents nor any of his friends weren't being held captive, he wanted to know as to why.
"WELL THE PLAN WAS TO ORIGINALLY HAVE CAPTIVES FOR ALL OF YOU, UNFORTUNATELY THINGS DIDN'T GO TO PLAN AND WELL..." MonoFreddy trailed off before regaining his composure. "THAT DOESN'T MATTER THOUGH! THIS ONLY MAKES THINGS MORE INTERESTING, HALF OF YOU HAVING HOSTAGES WHILE THE OTHER HALF DON'T!" the monochrome bear then leaned forward, his red eye glowing brightly. "SO HERE'S HOW THIS IS GOING TO WORK: IF I DON'T GET A DEAD BODY FROM ONE OF YOU LOT WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT HOURS, I'LL KILL EVERYONE YOU SEE HERE ON SCREEN AND YOU'LL BE FORCED TO WATCH!"
Many people gasped in horror at this, Gabe included. MonoFreddy then let out a bolstering laugh as he holds his sides, his mouth finally opening to reveal sharp teeth.
The first motive of the Fazbear Entertainment Mutual Killing Game had been revealed.
AN: And the first motive has been revealed, the classic hostage motive! And yeah, I sort of copied Cartoons In Danganronpa by giving half the characters hostages, but as MonoFreddy said things didn't work out perfectly, plus it does make things more interesting. So who will be the first to die? Will someone actually play the killing game and off someone or will the hostages be the first blood spilt? Find out next chapter!
Take care everyone!
