Roronoa Zoro the Pirate Hunter

Luffy, Nami, and Coby set sail for the Naval Base Town. As the day was turning into the night Nami felt a light breeze come from off the ocean. A light chill went down her back as she turned towards Luffy who's sitting near the bow of the dinghy. She saw that Luffy's swords were off and sitting next to him on his right side. Nami smiled a little at this, as she felt another chill go down her back she decided to go over to him. As she made the all too long yet ever short walk to Luffy Nami thought to herself, 'Who's Zoro to Luffy… he wants him as the FirstMate' as she sat down next to Luffy and started to hug him from the side. Luffy then wraps his left arm around Nami while pulling her a little to make the cuddle tighter. Nami smiles into Luffy's chest and mumbles, "Luffy" into his chest. Luffy looked down to place a soft kiss on the top of her head, "mmhmm" Luffy hummed in response. Nami looked up and into luffy's eyes.

"Why do you want this Zoro guy as the FirstMate so bad, wouldn't it make more sense to have Usopp as the FirstMate?" Nami questioned Luffy.

"Hmmm… well that's easy. I've already met Zoro before and know what his dream is or at least as long as he has kept wanting that dream." Luffy said while he kissed Nami lightly on her lips.

"What do you mean you've met Zoro before?" Nami asked with a little tilt of her head.

"You remember when Shanks told us the last part of our training while we were in the four blues?" Luffy asked.

"Ya but what does that have to do with you meeting Zoro?" Nami Questioned

"I'll tell you we were thrown out in the wild for three months after only a half a year of training before we could move on to the next blue, well in the East I met Zoro and spent the three months with him" Luffy said with a light chuckle as she started to tell Nami about his meeting with Zoro.

(Flashback)

Luffy was walking around Shimotsuki village looking for some food until he heard someone crying. Luffy started to look for the person to see if there was anything he could do to help. Luffy soon found himself in the middle of the forest that looked like a training ground. Luffy saw a little boy with green hair with a sword that had a pure-white hilt with a circular hand-guard. The sheath is painted white. Luffy slowly walked up to the boy having only two basic grade swords to his side.

"Hi, I'm Monkey D. Luffy and I'm going to be the King of the Pirates," Luffy said, hoping that the boy would talk back to him.

Zoro smirked but still answered back with his name " Hello I'm Roronoa Zoro and I'm going to become the World's Greatest Swordsman. Why do you want to be the King of the Pirates, Luffy." Zoro aksed

"Thats easy the King of the Pirates is the freest person in the world and when i'm done with my training me and my Navigator are going to start our own crew and find about 10 people who we can call our namakam and sail the seas and find One Piece along with completing their dreams along the way." Luffy said with a big grin on his face

"I see that you are training to learn nitōryū, the two sword style, I'm learning Santōryū three sword style." Zoro said

Three sword style is nice. I just don't see the point in three swords. For the most part I only use Ittōryū until I get really mad then I'll start to use my second sword.

"Hey Luffy, if you want to train with me we can start to learn all three sword styles together and then if we ever fought in a battle together just think how bad ass that would be we wouldn't need anyone else's help." Zoro said excited for once in his life

"That sounds fun. I have about three months here until my teacher comes back to pick me up. Only because he threw me overboard and onto the land.

"Wait your trainer throw you off his ship are you sure he's coming to pick up up" Zoro questioned

"Ya we were training for about six months and then he came out of nowhere and told us we have to make it three months until we can move to the next blue.

Zoro and Luffy then trained and played together for the next three months.

"Hey Zoro when I'm making my own crew want to be the FirstMate" Luffy asked Zoro as they were running to the docks so Luffy could leave.

"Sure if you find me i'll be your FirstMate Luffy" Zoro said back with a smile.

(Flashback)

"I see so you and Zoro are already good friends and you know you can trust him" Nami said with a small giggle into a yawn. Nami quickly fell into a deep and quiet sleep and left Luffy all alone with his thoughts.

'How did I get this lucky to be with the woman that I love and who loves me and why is she so damn cute when she sleeps?' Luffy thought.

After a couple of hours of thinking and smiling at Nami while she slept so cutely in his arm Luffy managed to also get some sleep. The next morning came fast for the three. The sun rises high enough for it to shine, bright in Nami's face. Nami first tried to snuggle into Luffy moer to block the light but after a while the sun won and she started to wake up looking up to see Luffy. 'His eyes have black bags under them, has he even been sleeping at all' Nami thought to herself getting sad and worried while trying to hold back tears. She tried to get up quietly so as not to wake him up with success. After she got up and out of Luffy's arm she kissed his forehead softly. Nami started to walk away until luffy mumbled, "were you going love" just starting to wake up. Nami walked back over to Luffy and sat down next to him.

"What's wrong sweetie" Luffy asked, looking concerned because of the sad expression on her face.

"Luffy have you been sleeping you look like you've been up all night how much sleep did you get" Nami quietly yelled at Luffy to not wake Coby up. She slammed her head onto Luffy's chest about to break down crying. Luffy started to rub circles with his hand on her back. "Its ok babe i have been sleeping not as much as i would like but i'm worried about Zoro he's being held by the navy last i heard people were calling him a pirate hunter so why would the Navy lock him up" Luffy said in a soothing voice to try and calm Nami down.

"Babe wait he's a Pirate hunter honey you know how much we're worth right" Nami asked Luffy after calling down now knowing the reason why Luffy looks so tired.

"Sweetheart, I trust him after all. I spent three months with him and if he wants to try and claim our bounties all I thought him was some basic haki, but he's my friend" Luffy said to Nami.

What Luffy said was true but he also said that to put Namis Concern to ease. Luffy and Nami then began making breakfast, or at least Nami started to while Luffy helped a little bit. Coby woke up soon after breakfast started being made. Luffy, Nami, and Coby all ate their food and then started doing what they wanted to, for Coby he was watching the sea for any land, Nami started to look around to see if there were any storms coming their way while Luffy started to make sure they were still on cores to the Town where Zoro was being held by the Navy. Nami soon joined Luffy to take over, but they both ended up doing the job together just because they wanted to be close to each other. Once everything was done Luffy and Nami sat at the back of the boat and cuddled until they reached the island they were heading for.

***Naval Base Town***

Luffy Nami and Coby all got off the boat and stepped foot into the town. The first thing they all saw was a huge tower with a smaller tower on its right side.

"We made it! Were here at the Naval Base Town" Luffy shouted

Nami quickly hit Luffy softly on the head and yell-whispered "Luffy we're wanted people don't go shouting to the world that we're here!"

"Hey it's not like I shouted our names out so we should be fine. I mean we cant be that well known in the East Blue like we are in the Grand Line right." Luffy said back to Nami.

Nami was thinking 'maybe he's right, no one was freaking out or anything and everyone was acting normal.'

"Wait, why is no one freaking out? I mean you guys are." Coby started to say but was soon cut off by both Luffy and Nami's hands covering his mouth. "What the hell is wrong with you don't go saying our names just because Luffy and Nami scolded Coby at the same time.

The Three started to walk after deciding to get some food before they hunt for Zoro. They soon found themselves in a little restaurant called the Food Foo and eating. Nami and Coby got a normal amount to eat while Luffy got enough for about two adults. The three of them were talking and having a good time until Luffy got serious.

"Well Coby, this is where we said your byes and head off on two different journeys, and we need to go find Zoro," Luffy told Coby while also talking to Nami.

Once his name was mentioned the whole room started to freak out. Tables went flying and chairs crashed to the ground as every person but Luffy, Nami, and Coby ran for what seemed to be cover of some kind. The three kept up with the conversation they were having but still took notice of what everyone did.

Thank you so much I don't know how to repay you for all you've done for me" Coby said while starting to cry a little bit.

"There's no need to thank us other than becoming a great sailor one day right babe" Nami said to Coby while trying to Get Luffy to agree but didn't need to try all too hard.

"Oh and Coby, when you join up, tell them to send you to my Grandpa. His name is Garp. Once you meet him tell him that 'Luffy sent me as a replacement' Luffy said but whispered the last part so no one could hear his name.

"I will thank you both again oh and by the way I saw a poster that said Captain Morgan runs the base here he's a tough guy so watch yourselfs." Coby told both.

Once again the whole room turned upside down but even quicker and with more fear it seemed. The three of them then left and started for the base. Luffy and Nami, to find the man known as Zoro and Coby to join the Marines.

"I can understand the way they reacted to Zoro's name but why did they react that way with the Captain's name?" Coby asked

"Look Coby the Navy isn't all that perfect take me and Nami for example were both pirates and on the same crew we were both on the Red Dragon Emperor's Shanks ship and he's the same way we are, but with us being labeled as pirates how does everyone look at us and act around up?" Luffy questioned Coby

"Well pirates are bad people all they know how to do is hurt other people" Coby said back.

"If that's true then we should be raiding this town and bringing the townspeople to its knees right?" Luffy's next question came.

"Also if pirates only know how to hurt other people then you would still be on that island most likely dead because of us right?" Nami put up another question along with Luffy.

"Well ya, but your not bad people" Coby stated

"I see... but you also said that pirates are bad people so in turn were bad people also right?" Luffy questioned with a little hope that Coby would understand what he is trying to say.

"I see what you're saying, if pirates can be good, but labeled as bad then there could also be Marines that are bad but labeled as good because they are Marines.

"There you go, now you get it." both Luffy and Nami said to Coby

"Don't let that ruin your dream though, just be a good Marine and a good person and you'll do just fine," Luffy added before they made it up to the Navy Base.

Luffy, Nami, and Coby now made it to the base. Luffy and Nami looked at Coby with eyes that told him he'll be fine just be yourself. Luffy and Nami started to walk to the wall and both jumped up on top of the wall to see what's on their side and maybe find Zoro.

"What are you two doing!" Coby shouted

"What's it look like we're doing we're looking for Zoro" Luffy said

"You won't find him by just looking over the wall; he's most likely deep in the base in the prison." Coby stated

"Oh ya well then what's that I guess we're seeing things, because there's a man tied up down here" Both Luffy and Nami said while jumping off the wall to where Coby is before running off down the side of the wall to get a better look at the man.

Luffy and Nami both once again hopped up on the wall and this time so did coby. The three saw a man wearing black trousers tucked inside black boots, a plain white shirt with three undone buttons at the collar and his green haramaki with three identical gold earrings on his left earlobe with a black bandana that's tied around his head. Tied up at a cross in the middle of a courtyard.

"What the hell do you three want!" Zoro yelled at the three on the wall.

"Zoro don't you remember me it's Luffy" Luffy said

Zoro's eyes widened when he saw who it was but then he remembered that both Luffy and his Navigator, are wanted people and made his mind up quickly. "I don't know who you are now, beat it or i'll kill you all" Zoro yells again.

"Hmmm well i could just untie him and set him free" Luffy said

"Well babe if you did that then he would be free and maybe he wouldn't want to talk to us then" Nami said to Luffy

"Are you both crazy thats suicide" Coby yelled to both of them

"Coby first off you're really starting to get anorrying and second did you forget who we are?" Luffy stated and then asked Coby.

Coby was staring at the two of them and thinking 'What is wrong with these two they seem like they have no care in the world,' "If you untie him he'll kill all of us and then run off" Coby once again tried to tell the young couple

"Coby if you keep talking like that then i'll hit you and i'm sure that Luffy wont do anything to stop me right babe" Nami cutely asked Luffy

"Well ya i wouldn't do anything unless you were going to go hard on him mainly because you're one of the only people that can really hit me other then my grandpa so ya nope won't stop you at all just dont kill him" Luffy said without a care in the world.

'Wow not even he would step in but wait what did he mean by she's one of the only people that can hit him,' Coby though and then the next thing he did was jump straight at Luffy and went to punch him, as Coby was about to hit Luffy without Luffy even seeing him his body turned to red lighting and Coby went straight through him and landed hard on the ground without even hitting Luffy. Nami hopped down from the wall and walked straight up to Coby with he fist clenched. "Did you just try and hit my Luffy?" Nami questioned Coby

"Nami calm down, I'm sure he was just wondering what I meant by you being one of the only people that can really hit me" Luffy said as he also jumped down and walked over to Nami to wrap his hands around her waist from the back of her.

"H-h-how did you turn to lighting and did i just go through your body!?" Coby yelled and asked at the same time to Luffy.

"That's right you don't know shishishi... I'm a red lighting rubber man." Luffy said

"O-ok but what did you mean by Nami being one of the only people that can really hit you?" Coby asked calming down abit

"There's only two people who can hit me without using Haki. That's a whole other story that my gramps will tell you about but other than Nami my Grandpa is the only other person that can hit me without using Haki." Luffy answered Coby

Nami then turned around in Luffy's arms and said "sorry Luffy i don't think he understands" After she said that Luffy put up his right hand and turned it black using his Armament Haki "This is called Armament Haki it allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible armor around themself, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities. It also allows a person to hit someone with the power of a devil and be able to really hit them. Like when you tried to hit me my body turned to red lighting to avoid the hit with this my body wouldn't do that but Nami and my Grandpa on the other hand can hit me even without using this power" Luffy said. After Luffy was done explaining, Nami then raised her fist and swung her fist down onto Luffy's head without any haki in the punch. "See I'm the only other one that can really hit Luffy without haki." Nami said with a small giggle.

"I see so what's that punch then?" Coby asked

"Well my Grandpa calls it the punch of love and Nami likes that so she has also taken a liking to calling it the punch of love" Luffy said while rubbing his head and giving a small glare at Nami for hitting him. I can also control my power and make my body not turn to red lighting. Shanks said I should do that while I'm in the four blues.

As soon as the three were done with the little explationsion they heard a 'WHACK' sound and turned around to see what was happening. The three were looking at a little girl going up the wall with a ladder to where Zoro is held in the courtyard. The three jumped back up on the wall to watch what happens next. As the little girl then walked up to Zoro she held out two rice balls.

"What do you want" Zoro asked

"I thought that you might be a little hungry so i made you some rice balls, but it's the first time i've ever made them so i hope you like them" Said the little girl.

"I'm not hungry so beat it kid or i'll kill you!"Zoro yelled

"Luffy, Nami do something she's going to get herself killed!" Coby Yelled

"She'll be fine, there's no real anger or hate in the words Zoro just said. If anything there is more fear behind his words then anything" Luffy and Nami said while smiling at eachother.

Coby looked at the two with a frown. They all looked back to the courtyard to see what happened next. Zoro and the Little girl keep talking while mainly Zoro is telling her that he's going to kill her if she doesn't leave now while the little girl is trying to get Zoro to eat the rice balls.

"Roronoa Zoro it's not nice to pick on little girls like that… I'll tell my father on you." Said a weird looking man.

"Whos that guy" Luffy and Nami said

"He's most likely a high ranking Naval Officer… At least the girl is safe now." Coby said

"Well if it isn't the idiot son... of what do I owe this honor" Zoro said in a sarcastic way.

"Did you just call me in idiot you should learn to watch that tongue of your giving the position your in" said the unnamed man

"Who are you" asked the little girl.

"Me well im Helmeppo the son of the Great Captain Morgan" said Helmeppo

Helmeppo then walked up to the little girl and grabbed a rice ball and ate it. The little girl screamed, "That's not for you… give it back." "Blech they are sweet did you put sugar on them when there meant to be seasoned with salt" Yelled Helmeppo at the little girl

"I like sweets so i thought it would be better with sugar not salt" said the little girl.

Helmeppo then slapped the rice ball out of the girl's hand while throwing the rest of the one he was eating on the ground and started to stomp on them. "No stop it, please your ruining them!" screamed the little girl." After Helmeppo was done stomping on the rice balls he told the little girl that he's sure the ants will like them. Helmeppo then turned to the two sailors to tell them to throw the little brat over the wall while he continued to tell the little girl that if she were an adult she would have been put to death for what she did, and that she only had herself to blame for the outcome of this. One of the sailors then walked up to the little girl with a face that showed how much pain he was in for having to do this or face the wrath of the Captain. He then picked the little girl up and told her to cruel up into a ball so it will hurt less and that he's sorry. The little girl then came flying over the wall, Luffy and Nami then jumped off the wall, Luffy caught Nami, while Nami caught the little girl.

"So you're still not giving up then" Helmeppo asked Zoro

"I'll stay out here for the whole month and then you better hold up to your end of the bergain" Zoro told Helmeppo

Helmeppo then left with the two men while Luffy and Nami walked up to Zoro. Zoro looked over the two before saying anything. What caught his eye was the straw hat on top of Luffy's head and the two swords to his side. 'It has to be him, that's the same Luffy i met when i was younger damn and i told him i would join his crew well i guess there no getting out of it now' Zoro thought to himself.

" Well if it isn't Monkey D. Luffy the future Pirate King if i'm not mistaken." Zoro said with a light smile as he looked over at the girl next to him " and this must be hmmm what did you say all that time ago. "my beautiful Navigator" i believe it was." Zoro said in a mocking tone with a smirk.

Luffy then grabbed Nami and pulled her into a long and passinoint kiss while both make it deeper by letting their tongues have a little fun as well. Luffy then looked Zoro right in his eyes and said "word for word and don't forget it, oh and her name is Nami by the way" with a huge grin on his face as Nami turned a bright red.

"Well if i'm not Mistaken you made a promise to me when we were kids something along the lines of "Sure if you find me i'll be your FirstMate Luffy." Luffy told Zoro trying to sound like him.

"That I did but you'll have to wait a month so I can show that little brat who's the boss. Zoro said, talking about Helmeppo.

Luffy and Nami both nodded and started to walk away with Luffy ending the conversation with "well be here for a month waiting for you FirstMate Zoro"

"Wait, can you pick that up for me and feed it to me?" Zoro said while nodding his head at the smashed rice balls on the ground.

Luffy walked over to the rice balls and picked them up to feed them to Zoro, "is there anything you would like me to tell the little girl" Luffy asked while Zoro was hacking and coughing from all the dirt that was on the rice balls from what Helmeppo did to them.

"Ya can you tell her that they were delicious and that I ate all of it?" Zoro asked or told Luffy.

Luffy and Nami made it back to where the little girl and Coby were. When Luffy told the little girl what Zoro said she instinlee got excited but became sad and a little depressed. The three then asked her what was wrong. She told them about the dogs and how Zoro saved her life but got locked up because of her. Luffy walked up to her and got down on one knee and looked straight at the little girl.

"Don't be sad, Zoro did what he did because he wanted to. I'm sure he knew what would happen to him and he's strong and he can handle himself.

Helmeppo then came walking down the street telling everyone to bow lower or he would tell his daddy on them and have them thrown in jail like Zoro. He continued to talk about Zoro until he told everyone there will be a public excision of Roronoa Zoro in three days time. Luffy walked up to Helmeppo and yelled "What about your deal with him, aren't you going to hold up your end if he would win!"

"Zoros is an idiot for thinking that i would just let him go if he can make it a whole month without food and water." Helmeppo said

Luffy's rage boiled inside of him until he swung his fist forward and 'WOM!' Luffy sucked Helmeppo right in the face and sent him flying to the ground. Luffy turned to Nami and said "Nami go get some food and bring it to Zoro tell him what just happened and that he'll have his swords in no time at all. Nami nood and started to run off saying you got it Luffy. Coby yelled "What the hell you guys just said your names now everyone will know who you guys are. Luffy then grabbed Helmeppo as he was crying "Someone help it's the Straw Hat Couple they'll kill us all." Luffy then threw him straight at the roof of the Navy Base. The whole town began to erupt with fear hearing that the Straw Hat Couple is here. Luffy then started to run to the base and yelled to Coby, "Coby can you help Nami out please." "Ya can do see ya Luffy."
