A/N Thanks again for all your reviews. I apologize for the long delay but at least I have all of my stories caught up to the same month. Will try to do better from now on. I appreciate your patience and support. I still am just borrowing these characters.

Annie indicated a seat in front of her, "Could you please have a seat?"

When Amy sat down, Annie went on, "I don't need any details, but could you give me a general idea of what the problem is? It would help me to decide who could best help you."

"My father is missing."

"I am so sorry to hear that." She paused, "I think you should probably talk with Mr. Adams; he usually handles similar cases." She got up, "Let me see if he is available."

She went to one of the four doors off the reception area. After knocking on the door she went in.

Amy looked around the office, she found herself being impressed. Everything looked very professional.

She turned her head when she heard the door to the offices open behind her. She saw a beautiful blond woman come through the door.

Penny noted that Annie wasn't at her desk. She also saw a woman sitting in front of the desk, presumably a client. She thought of just going into Leonard's office but realized he could be busy. She took a seat in one of the other chairs.

She looked over the other woman. She felt a little ashamed when she found herself thinking that the woman had absolutely no fashion sense. She seemed to be attractive but was doing her best to conceal the fact. Still a little ashamed of herself, she smirked that she appeared to get her clothes from Forever 63.

Amy found herself staring at the woman. She was always a little intimidated by anyone so pretty. She knew it was ridiculous of her to think so. After all, she was undoubtedly far more intelligent than she was. She wondered what she was doing here. What her problem was. She found herself imagining all sorts of scandalous activities she could be involved in.

Just then Annie came back out. Seeing Penny, she smiled, "Hi, Penny. I am afraid Leonard's with a client."

"Do you think I should wait?"

Annie smiled, "Why don't you let me take care of Dr. Fowler here and I will check in with him."

When Penny nodded, a little surprised about the woman being a doctor, Annie turned to Amy, "Mr. Adams will be right out."

Annie sat back down and pushed a button on her desk. After a moment she said, "Just to let you know Penny is out here."

After a pause she turned back to Penny, "He said it shouldn't be long."

Penny nodded, "I'll just wait."

Just then Kurt came out of his office, to Amy's shock she suddenly said "Woo."

Penny had to smile but Kurt just said, "Dr. Fowler, I am Kurt Adams, why don't we talk in my office."

Amy nodded and walked past him into his office.

She heard Kurt say, "Hey, Penny."

"Hi, Kurt."

After Amy and Kurt were seated, Kurt began, "Mrs. Taylor said that you told her your father was missing. Have you talked to the Police?"

"No. I know they will not do anything. My father is a grown man and I have no reason to assume he has done anything but run off."

"How long has he been gone?"

"Four days."

"Is it possible he is just visiting someone or somewhere on business."

"No, if that were true, my mother would tell me so."

"So your mother has no idea where he is?"

"If she did, she would have dragged him home."

"What has she done?"

Amy sighed, "Just constantly telling me what an ungrateful man he is, running off like this after all she had done for him, given up for him."

"Has he ever done anything like this before?"

"No." She looked up at him, "But I know he has long wanted to." She sighed, "I am surprised he has finally got the gumption to do it."

"What do you want us to do if we do find him?"

"I just want to know he is okay. I would also like to see if I could see him."

"Alright. Before we go any further, I need to inform you that our fee is $100 a day plus any expenses. We will check with you before any large expenditure such as a plane flight. If we haven't found him in a week, we will check back with you to see if you want us to continue."

He paused, "Do you understand those terms?"

Amy nodded.

Kurt smiled, "Okay, let me get a form for you to sign authorizing us to work on your behalf. Is there anything I should be careful about? Anyone you don't want to be contacted?"

"I would rather if my mother did not know what I am doing."

Kurt sat back, "I will promise to do my best to not involve her. If I do decide I need to talk to her, I will check with you first."

Amy nodded, "That sounds reasonable."

"We will need a retainer of $100. You can pay Mrs. Taylor as you leave."

"Very well."

"Okay. Do you have time to give me some information now?"

"Yes."

"What is your father's full name?"

"Larry George Fowler."

"What is his home address?"

"425 Lincoln Circle, Bakersfield, California.

"How old is he?"

"Sixty-three."

"Do you have a picture of him?"

She opened her purse and took out a framed picture and gave it to him, "I thought you might want that."

Kurt had to hide a smirk when he saw the picture, he looked like a man who was expecting to be yelled at, "Thank you."

He continued, "Does he have any hobbies, vices?"

"Vices?"

"Does he gamble? Has he had an affair?"

Amy had to laugh, "All my father does is listen to my mother run him down."

"Does he work?"

"He is retired."

"Do you know if he took a car?"

"His car is still at home."

"Does he have any brothers or sisters? Any friends he might go to?"

"No siblings. He doesn't really have any friends except maybe some old coworkers."

"Where did he work?"

"He worked in a bank. Bakersfield Savings and Loan."

Kurt stood up, "I think that is enough to get me started. Do you have a number where I can reach you?"

Amy stood up and took a business card out of her purse, "My cell phone number is on there."

Kurt smiled and gave her a card in return, "If you have any questions at any time, don't hesitate to call. That is an answering service that will contact us any time of day or night."

As she thanked him and returned to the lobby, making out a check she gave to Annie and receiving a receipt, she was surprised she was a little disappointed to see that what was her name, Penny, wasn't there.

After she left, Kurt walked over to Howard's office and went in.

"Hey, Kurt, what's up?"

"I need you to see if you can find any credit card data for a Larry George Fowler."

He went on, "Here is his address."

"What did he do?"

"It appears he ran away from his wife." He smirked, "From what his daughter said about her mother, I don't blame him."

"How far back do you want to look?"

"He only left a few days ago. Let's check that first. If we don't see anything, we can go back further to see if we can get a clue about where he might have gone before."

As Howard worked, he went on, "How did it go with Rachel and her son?"

"I thought it went well. But now she is visiting her parents back east."

He went on, "Anything more on the Bernadette front?"

Howard sighed, "Not really, but at least she hasn't told me to leave her alone yet."

Howard soon finished, "Well, here's what we got." He handed Kurt the printout.

Kurt looked at it and had to laugh. When Howard looked at him, he smiled, "I should have had Dr. Fowler wait. According to this, he took a flight to Las Vegas three days ago and has been staying at the Flamingo."

Howard smirked, "Are you going to charge her the whole hundred dollars?"

"There might still be more to it. We are not positive he is still there. I'll see if she wants me to check it out or just how she wants to handle it."

He headed for the door, "Thanks, Howard."

"No problem."

Kurt returned to his office and was about to call Amy when he was surprised when Sheldon, Leonard, and Penny all came into his office.

He smiled, "Whoa. What are you all doing here?"

Sheldon spoke up, "What active cases are you working on right now?"

"As you know, I am waiting back on information on both the Davis and Wilson cases. I was just about to call a new client to tell her I found her father." He smirked, "Howard found out where he probably is in about fifteen minutes."

Leonard broke in, "What were you planning to tell her?"

"That we think we found him and ask if she wanted me to go down there by myself, go with her, or if she wanted to handle it herself." He paused, "Why, what's going on?"

Sheldon answered, "We think we have a good lead on Walter Haster."

Kurt was surprised. Walter Haster was a man who had never paid his wife a penny in child support. They had recently learned his son was very sick and his ex-wife desperately needed the money. Although she couldn't afford them, they had agreed to help her and that if she got anything from him, they could talk about being paid then. They had all agreed they wouldn't accept anything.

He finally said, "Where do we think he is?"

Leonard answered, "An old friend of Margaret said she saw him at a store in Boise, Idaho. Luckily, he left before she could approach him. Margaret told her about what had happened. They contacted the Boise police but they couldn't afford to spend a lot of time on it."

He looked at Kurt, "This is the best lead we have had; we want you to go out there."

"What about Dr. Fowler?"

Sheldon asked, "Who?"

"The woman whose father we just found. Can one of you talk to her?"

Leonard said, "I can talk to her, but I can't go with her if that what's she wants, I will be busy with the Borden matter." He turned to Sheldon, "How about you, Sheldon?"

Sheldon looked condescendingly at him, "I have much more important things to do than run off to who knows where." He added, "Besides, with you busy with Borden and Kurt gone, someone needs to be at the office."

As Leonard sighed, Penny spoke up, "What about me?"

Leonard looked puzzled, "What about you what?"

"I could go with this Dr. whatever."

Leonard was about to object when he realized it could solve their problem. He turned to Kurt, "What do you think, Kurt?"

Kurt who had been stunned when Penny volunteered, "Actually, it might work. There shouldn't be much to it. If he isn't where we think, she can call one of us for suggestions. I can't see where they should be any danger."

Penny looked expectantly at Leonard, "How about it, Leonard. I would really like to help."

Leonard wasn't overly excited about it but saw how excited she was, "I guess we can try it. Maybe this Fowler woman will not need anyone."

When they contacted Amy, she decided she would like to have someone accompany her. She was surprised but realized she was pleased when she found out that blond beauty would be her traveling companion.

Deciding they needed to stay flexible, they opted to drive.
