A/N Thank you so much for all your reviews. They do keep me going. I so appreciate your input. I still own nothing.

After spending some time with Larry, Amy gave him a hug goodbye and after assuring him she would say nothing to her mother and getting his assurance they would stay in touch, Penny and Amy returned to their car. Penny called Kurt and told him the good news. After receiving his congratulations, they let Leonard and Sheldon know as well. They then started their trip home.

Unlike the ride to Vegas, Amy was silent for most of the trip. Penny assumed she was still a little stunned at what they had found and needed to absorb it all.

But as they got closer to Pasadena, Amy surprised her by speaking up, "I was just wondering, now that I will no longer need the agency's services, how do I pay what I owe?"

"It's really not much different than any business, they'll put together a bill and mail it out to you or if you prefer, send it in an email."

"Is it possible I could just settle it at the office today?"

Penny was surprised, "I suppose. I don't know how long it would take to work it up."

"I was also hoping I could thank everyone for helping me out." She turned to Penny, "And tell them how great you were."

Penny smiled, "Thank you. As for the others, I don't think Kurt will be there and he is the one who did a lot."

"That's all right. I can still express my thanks to the others."

Penny was beginning to wonder what was going on. She supposed it was just Amy's way of dealing with things, but Penny sensed something was going on here. As Amy went on, she thought she was getting an idea of why she was doing it.

"I have to admit that I am looking forward to meeting Dr. Cooper and the other one, what's his name?"

Penny smirked, "Leonard Hofstadter."

"Oh yes, your boyfriend."

Penny smiled to herself, she was getting more and more suspicious, "I hope your not going to deride Sheldon's doctorate, are you?"

"No, No. I just want to thank him."

When they got back to the office, Penny and Amy walked up to Annie. Penny asked, "Are Sheldon and Leonard in?"

"Yes, but Dr. Cooper is with a client."

Penny was disappointed but decided they could talk to Leonard and then maybe Sheldon would be available, "Okay, we'll go see Leonard."

Penny led Amy into Leonard's office. He looked up and smiled, "Welcome back." He got up an moved around the desk, giving Penny hug and a quick kiss on the mouth.

Penny then spoke up, "Leonard, Amy would like to have everything settled today. Could you get her a bill ready?"

Leonard stared at her and turned to Amy, "That's not really necessary, we can bill it out later."

Penny hurried on, "She also wants to thank both you and Sheldon for your help."

Amy spoke up, "I hope I am not causing trouble, but I would appreciate it if you could help me out."

She hesitated, "I admit, the real reason I wanted to talk to you and Dr. Cooper was because Penny told me you were once students at Caltech. I confess I looked you both up on the internet and was quite impressed."

Leonard was still a little stunned at what was going on but managed to say, "Thank you."

Penny quickly said, "Amy, why don't you go out and sit in the lobby and when Sheldon is free, you can talk to him. Leonard and I will work on your bill."

Amy nodded and Penny got her seated, telling Annie to let Penny know the minute Sheldon was available. She then went back into Leonard's office.

Leonard looked at her, "What is this all about?"

Penny smiled, "I think Amy is interested in Sheldon."

"What makes you think that?"

"I don't know for sure. But ever since she found out about his history, she has shown interest in him. I just think this whole thing with the bill and thanking you guys is so she can meet him." She smirked, "When she told me she wanted to thank you guys, she couldn't remember your name but had no trouble remembering his."

"I don't know, Penny. Are you sure you aren't just imagining all this?"

"Maybe." She smiled, "In any case, we better get to work on a bill."

Amy sat nervously, wondering what she was doing, what had got into her. Ever since Penny had told her about Dr. Cooper, she had been intrigued by his story. She blushed at little as she also had to admit she had found herself attracted to his picture. She realized that like her father, she had been deeply affected by her mother. She had been told she was different than other women, that her intelligence made her special. She also now realized that her mother had indoctrinated her to think of men as only wanting one thing. She smiled to herself, maybe she could understand a little more how her father had gotten in the sex scene.

Leonard and Penny had been sidetracked by spending some time getting reacquainted. But when they realized they needed to stop before they had sex on his desk, they got to work. Penny had paid for her own meals during the trip, so there really were no expenses. They checked with Kurt just in case, but he didn't have any either.

They had just finished up when Annie buzzed them and told them Sheldon was free.

With Penny smiling and Leonard still shaking his head, Penny went out to tell Amy.

Although Leonard still wondered what he was doing, he went in and told Sheldon about how Amy had wanted her bill and to meet them. Sheldon wanted to say he really didn't have the time but then decided she was a satisfied client. He didn't want to disturb that. He grudgingly took the bill from Leonard and told him to send her in.

When she saw how Amy reacted when she told her Sheldon was available, Penny was surer than ever she was on the right track.

Sheldon stood up as Amy came in. Although Leonard and Kurt had talked about her, he had never met her. He had to admit he was surprised and a little impressed that she apparently she did not feel the need to worry about fashion. He noted with some satisfaction that she wore sensible shoes rather than those unpractical things that other woman appeared to feel necessary to wear.

Amy was about to speak when she saw the diploma on the wall. Figuring she knew what it was, she went over and looked at it. She then turned back, "I see your degree is in Detectiveology."

For the first time, Sheldon felt a little discomfort at someone noting that. After all, she was also a doctor. He was relieved and a little surprised when she went on, "I have to admit, I have not seen one before, but am sure it is not easy to obtain."

Sheldon smiled, "It is a relatively new science. I am the first to receive one."

Amy smiled to herself saying, 'And probably the only one.' Aloud she said, "Congratulations."

She then moved over to where he was, "I am Dr. Amy Farrah-Fowler."

Sheldon nodded, glad she didn't appear to be someone that required a handshake, "I am Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Do you want to have a seat?"

She nodded and sat down, "I just wanted to stop in and tell you how impressed I was with your Staff's work."

Sheldon nodded, noticing that she evidently understood his position. "Thank you. I am quite proud of them."

There was then a silence which Sheldon broke by saying, "Mr. Hofstadter has prepared your bill." He handed it to her, "I have looked at it and believe it is in order."

He went on, "If it meets your approval, you can pay Mrs. Taylor."

Amy glanced at it, "It seems correct."

After another awkward silence, Amy realized she didn't want to leave, "Penny told me that you attended Caltech."

Sheldon was surprised but answered, "Yes. Both Mr. Hofstadter and I did."

"I have to admit I was curious and looked you up." She hesitated, "I was quite impressed." She paused again, "I wondered why you decided to become a detective. It seemed you had a promising academic career ahead of you."

Sheldon sat up a little, "That is true. It was a difficult decision. I of course knew I would be a success at either but decided being a detective might be more of a challenge."

He then surprised her by asking, "How about you. Did you ever consider anything other than being a doctor?"

"From the way you asked that, I feel you think I am a medical doctor. Actually, my doctorate is in neuroscience. I largely work with brain functions."

Sheldon was surprised and impressed. "My apologies. Where do you work?"

"I do my research at UCLA. I am currently working with monkeys, studying emotions."

She hesitated, "What was your field of study?"

"Theoretical Physics."

"Do you ever think you might return to your studies?"

Sheldon contemplated that. He had to admit he had on occasions considered it; especially when the work became routine. He also had to admit that after the excitement around what happened with Penny, those moments were commonplace. He had thought of getting more involved in the physical side but realized he had no real interest in it.

"Sometimes. But I feel I am needed here."

"I understand." The more time she spent with him, the more intrigued she was. Along with the realization of a physical attraction to him, she was coming to believe he was out of his element. No matter what he said or how successful this business was, she felt his destiny lie elsewhere, that this was a waste of his potential. She realized she wanted to help him do that.

She went on, "I know I have no right to say this and I have only just met you, but I believe you should seriously consider returning to school. I believe you have a lot to contribute to science."

Sheldon was stunned and pleased, he pondered what she said, 'Was he depriving the world of his intelligence? Did his true calling lie elsewhere? Was he wasting his time?'

He also was discovering something else; he was enjoying the time he was spending with her. He could tell she was highly intelligent and was impressed how she recognized how he could make a true contribution to science.

He surprised them both when he asked, "Would you like to join me in a beverage somewhere to discuss this?"

Amy was surprised and thrilled, "I would like that. I know of a coffee shop near here."

"I don't drink coffee."

"I believe they have other beverages such as hot chocolate."

Sheldon smiled, "I like hot chocolate. Very well. Let's get this bill settled." He hesitated, "Can you drive?"

"Of course."

Leonard had to smile as he watched Penny constantly opening his door and looking out into the lobby. For the third time she said, "What is keeping them?"

Leonard snickered, "Maybe their doing it on his desk."

She glared at him, "Very funny."

Just then they heard voices. Quickly opening the door, they were shocked to hear Sheldon say, "Now that we have taken care of that, let's proceed."

Seeing Leonard and Penny looking out, Sheldon called out to them, "Dr. Fowler and I are going to have a beverage. I assume you can manage to take care of the office."

Leonard stammered, "Of course, Don't worry about a thing."

As soon as they left, Penny smiled broadly and hit Leonard on the arm almost knocking him over, "I told you!"

Leonard held his arm and said, "It's just a beverage," but he had to admit she could be right.
