All the members of the Lion Guard were shocked at the news Kion gave them, except for Ono.
"I - ahem, got curious when I saw the two of you talking on the cliff, and I sort of flew closer until I could overhear enough to put two and two together," he admitted, sounding embarrassed.
Kion sighed. "I can't believe Dad got rid of the whole Lion Guard just like that. I get that I messed up, but you guys were doing fine."
"Well, maybe your Dad will get us back together but find a different leader," Bunga piped in, apparently unaware of how hurtful that statement was. "It's gonna suck without you, Ki, but what can ya do?"
"Bunga!" Fuli growled between her teeth. "That's rubbish, Kion. You've got nothing to beat yourself up about. If that rotten Janja hadn't been causing trouble again, none of this would have happened."
"Mind you, Kion could have just used his roar against the hyenas," Bunga insisted.
"Yeah, and send all the stampeding animals into the gorge. What a great idea, Bunga."
"Well, then you think of something, smarty-pants!"
Unable to listen to his friends fighting any more, Kion stormed off. He heard Beshte call out to him, but he'd had enough. All he wanted was to be alone.
