Switzerland, in an evil shinobi outpost, nine years ago
Hamato, one of the most important evil shinobi in Europe, just moved to this simple outpost only watched by three evil shinobi.
The reason of his presence in such a place is the target they caught two days ago, a target very significant in Hamato's point of view.
"You're sure it's him?"
Hamato asks one of the evil shinobi operating there.
"Yes, mister Hamato, our spy in the good shinobi side confirmed his name and his appearance, everything corresponds perfectly.é
The evil shinobi responds in a professional voice.
"Where is he?"
Hamato asks.
"Just behind this door, sir."
The evil shinobi answers by showing the door for the interrogation room.
"That's great… Make sure none bothers us."
Hamato says, smiling of excitation.
"As you wish, sir!"
The evil shinobi responds before opening the door.
Hamato enters, then, the evil shinobi delicately closes the door behind his master.
As expected for an interrogation room, everything is dull and empty, excepted a simple table with two chairs facing each other.
One of them is already taken, so, Hamato takes place in the second one before looking at the one sitting on the other one.
It's just a child, an only ten years old little boy.
He's dirty, but more importantly, he's scared and staring at the floor by sobbing.
"Kid?"
Hamato asks in a cheerful voice, but the little boy doesn't react.
"Boy, my name is Hamato, I'm here because I know horrible things happened to you… I come for helping you."
Hamato adds, this time, the boy reacts a little.
"You're scared, but with us, you don't have anything to fear… I'm alos going to answer your question."
Hamato explains, still in a cheerful voice.
The boy slowly rises his head, to finally takes a look at the man.
"Good, before we start, did my friends feed you and give you something to drink?"
Hamato asks with a worried look.
The little boy nods his head.
"Great, first, I'd like to make sure I know who you are… Your name is Thomas Ludwig?"
The child nods in agreement.
"Very well, Thomas… I'm sorry, but you need to know people with very bad intentions regarding you are currently chasing you… But don't worry, w'll keep you safe… No matter the cost."
Hamato claims in a determinate voice.
Thomas is scared by the idea of being a target, but Hamato's words reassure him a little...
"W-Who are you, sir?"
Thomas asks in a weak and afraid voice.
"Hamato, at your service, Thomas!"
The man answers in a joyful voice.
"Nice to meet you… Mister Hamato…"
The little boy responds, partially reassured.
Several months later
As promised by Hamato, the evil shinobi have protected and taken care of Thomas.
However, as yet, they avoided explaining to him what's going on for real. But Thomas is more and more asking for details about them and the people looking for him.
Today, Hamato is going to give him answers.
"Thomas, you must know that, in order to correctly explain you, we'll have to talk about the last time you saw your mother and what happened that day…"
Hamato explains, which discomforts Thomas a lot.
"And believe me, what I'm about to tell you is very hard to hear. That's why we didn't tell you anything, are you ready?"
Hamato asks in a cheerful voice, like a father having a talk with his son.
Thomas is afraid, but nods anyway.
"Very good, I'm proud of you… First, do you know shinobi?"
Thomas is astonished and confused, which is already an answer.
"I guess no… Shinobi are, to keep it simple, mercenaries with incredible abilities who operate in the shadows. There are two factions, the "evil" shinobi, and the "good" shinobi, but actually, we aren't that different so, don't pay attention to the names."
Thomas is confused, but still listens.
"I and the other people you met are evil shinobi, and the ones who want to hurt you are good shinobi…"
Hamato stops for a few seconds before adding the hardest part.
"Your mother is one of them…"
Thomas is shocked, he's just a child, but he understands that means his own mother is also trying to hurt him.
"B-But why?! I did nothing wrong…"
Thomas asks, starting to sob.
"I know… But you have something they rather see disappear instead of being out of their control… You remember what happened the night you saw your mother for the last time?"
Hamato asks, but that question only makes Thomas scared.
"..."
The boy can't answer, he's curled on himself.
Hamato closes his eyes, he already knows what happened, he was just testing Thomas.
"Alright, don't worry, you don't have to think about it."
Hamato tells Thomas, who calms down just a little.
"Listen kid, I understand if you don't want to talk about it, but do you at least want to know why did it happen to you?"
Thomas, even if he's still afraid, can't hide he wants to know, or rather, he needs to.
"Thomas, remember the "abilities" I told you about? You actually have one of those abilities, the "Charm of the Snow Woman"."
Hamato starts, Thomas's fear is starting to be replaced by curiosity.
"It's a very powerful power that makes you able to seduce any girl just by speaking, unfortunately… That's because of that your mother…"
By hearing that, the boy starts to sob again.
Hamato doesn't finish his sentence, he doesn't want his boy to panic again.
"You're probably wondering why you have that power? Your father was a good shinobi too, he had this power, and you inherited it."
Hamato explains, it shocks the little boy, who's never heard a word about his father before.
"However… What you need to know is… It was their mission as good shinobi, making children with that power in order to create a group of shinobi controlling enemies."
Thomas can't believe it, even if his children's mind is already broken, he can't help finding this plan horrible.
"Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately, your father died during your mother's pregnancy. So, you were a very precious resource for them… But it went wrong, and now, they want you dead…"
Hamato was a little too honest, he accidentally scares Thomas even more.
But the man decides to stay honest until the end.
"I'm truly sorry… But then I said "them"... It includes your mother…"
The boy is even more broken, he realizes his mother actually never loved him, which makes him terribly sad.
"I have a proposal for you… Would you like to be an evil shinobi?"
Hamato suggests to Thomas, who looks at him with astonishment.
"It's a very difficult training, but you'll be able to master your power… And protect yourself from those self-proclaimed good shinobi… And even to take your revenge…"
Those words start to turn the young boy's fear and sorrow into hatred, and despite still being scared…
"A-Alright…"
By hearing that, Hamato smiles at him and tells him:
"Perfect… Now, your name will be Heitan."
