Kal-El steadied himself to catch and hold the half-Saiyan. He planted himself like a tree, solid and immovable. Feet slightly more than shoulder-width apart, hips and knees bent, back straight, shoulders back, hands out and ready to grapple or block, center of gravity low, and eyes determined to stop the raging Z-fighter.

Then, at the last moment, Gohan teleported away. Superman raised his eyebrows. The half-human's "reckless charge" had been a feint. As he had been diverting the Kryptonian's attention, the other Z-fighters had been readying their attacks. Krillin dashed to flank the Kryptonian's left. Piccolo dashed to his right. Gohan had teleported above him, the white aura of his Mystic form enveloping him. He clasped his hands together, an enormous amount of power pouring from Gohan's very being until it took a physical form between his hands. His voice rang out across the empty plains, like the cry of an avenging ghost.

"KAAAAA-"

Vegeta faced the Kryptonian head on, his hair rapidly changing color first from plain black, then to electric blue, and finally to the vibrant purple of his Ultra Ego form. He raised his hand, a sphere of condensed energy that could rupture galaxies forming in his open palm. He'd show the Man of Steel what it meant to be a Saiyan Warrior.

"ME-"

Piccolo raised the index and middle fingers of his right hand to his forehead, energy pouring into the tips of his two fingers like crackling electricity. This had better work.

"HAAAAA-"

Krillin raised his hand high above his head, his Ki gathering into a golden disk that could slice a mountain apart. He'd give it his all, even if it killed him. For Goku.

"ME-"

Superman turned to Kelex. The alien android was quantum-linked to Kal-El's neurological signals. In the split-second before the four Z-fighters attacked Superman told the little robot to get out of here for now. Kelex responded instantly, teleporting itself and the Namekian Dragon Balls to the other side of the planet. As the android vanished in a flash of white light, the Kryptonian turned to face his attackers.

"BIG BANG ATTACK!"

"MAKANKOSAPPO!"

"DESTRUCTO DISK!"

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

From space, an enormous explosion could be seen, a bursting bubble of pure energy that was directly observable multiple continents away. Instantly, a million megatons of earth and stone were vaporized into gas. The plains of New Namek combusted as the explosion ignited every plant within 100 kilometers. Namekians living in different time zones were immediately, and without warning, blinded.

A gargantuan trench now ran across the surface of New Namek, a colossal cone of empty space that had once been New Namekian land had been sheared off the planet's surface by the Z-fighter's attacks, so vast it could comfortably fit a small mountain range inside of it. And at the vertex of that cone stood Superman, sighing deeply.

Luckily, Clark had been able to absorb the vast majority of that attack without issue. Otherwise the planet itself would likely not have survived. Still, he was concerned. Not by the power of these Z-fighters, he was confident he could handle that. No, these opponents had clearly acted with a plan. And, as Bruce would have said, a plan is far more dangerous than any planet-busting attack.

Vegeta, Krillin, and Piccolo attacked the Man of Steel from three angles. Superman faced a flurry of blows, each one powerful enough to shatter the tectonic plates of a planet. He blocked most of them. A few he dodged. A small handful managed to slip past his defenses, doing nothing against his invulnerable body. Suddenly, Superman heard a cry from up above him. Gohan was dropping down from the sky like a meteor from the heavens. Vegeta, Krillin, and Piccolo continued their attacks, but Superman noticed that the pace of their attacks, while still impossibly fast by human standards, was slowing almost imperceptibly. Their plan had been for the three of them to pin him down while Gohan delivered a crushing blow from the sky.

Well Clark couldn't have that.

Piccolo and Krillin's eyes widened in horror as the Kryptonian's hands gripped down like an adamantine vice upon their mouths, Piccolo in Superman's right hand, Krillin in his left. Then, before any of the three Z-fighters could react, Superman brought their heads crashing together, sandwiching the skull of the Saiyan Prince between those of his two compatriots.

KRAKOOOOOOMMM!

There was a crashing roar as their three heads collided, and a colossal boom which deafened over half the planet. Piccolo and Krillin passed out immediately, and Superman tossed them both aside like ragdolls. Vegeta struggled to maintain consciousness, but even as the power of Ultra Ego caused the tremendous blow to strengthen him, it did nothing to lessen the enormous damage to his brain as it trembled in his skull like a mass of gelatin in a hurricane. His hair returned to the jet black of his base form, his concentration completely shot as the power of Ultra Ego slipped away from him. He just barely managed to stay on his feet when he realized that the Man of Steel's invulnerable finger was right in front of him.

Superman flicked the Prince of all Saiyans once on the forehead. The impact sent the proud warrior flying away at such extreme velocity that he wouldn't roll to a stop until he had traveled roughly a third of the circumference of New Namek, by which point he was finally unconscious and out of the fight.

Ignoring all of this, the son of Goku fell upon Kal-El with the fury of a man who knew he was out of his depths, and knew he had nothing to lose. He landed with a falling kick which could have cracked a moon in half if Superman hadn't caught it in one hand.

"MURDERER!

Gohan screamed with a combination of rage and hatred. The sight of his compatriots' defeat had only made him more livid, determined to avenge not just his father, but all of his allies.

"HYPOCRITE!"

Gohan launched into a volley of kicks, each one delivered with blinding speed. None of them could get past the alien's guard. He tried attacking with his fists, each blow powerful enough to shatter a planet. None of them seemed to affect him. Gohan kept attacking, each time swinging faster, each time hitting harder. Nothing worked. He just kept getting angrier and angrier. Why didn't anything work? Why didn't any of these attacks seem to faze him?! Why would he do this to his Dad?!

"SELF-RIGHTEOUS, ARROGANT, POMPOUS SON OF A-"

Before he could finish his sentence, the Kryptonian caught both of his fists. Gohan struggled, but the alien's grip was like unbreakable shackles. He was nearly foaming at the mouth now, and he pulled at the Kryptonian's hands so hard he was liable to tear his arms right out of their sockets.

Superman looked Gohan in the eyes.

"It's over son. It's over."
