Nancy is now getting ready to do some alpine skiing. She knows how to ski as a matter of fact. She didn't do good on ski jumping of course. She can do a downhill by the way. She is about to face off against 38 other opponents. She can try to do her best. Let's hope that Nancy will do good on downhill skiing.

"Here we are, girls." said Diana. "The downhill skiing competition."

"Nancy is here for the competition." said Sue.

"She sure is." said Diana. "In fact, she has been practicing for the competition."

"This is the first that she competes." said Sue.

"I know." said Diana. "Here she comes."

"Hi, you two." said Nancy.

"Hi, Nancy." said Diana. "Are you ready for your first alpine skiing?"

"I sure am, Di." said Nancy.

"That is good." said Diana. "Make sure you don't fall during the competition."

"I won't." said Nancy. "I would lose time if I did."

"Have fun at skiing." said Diana.

"I sure will." said Nancy.

She went to her position.

"What number did she go to?" Sue asked.

"She went to number 3." said Diana.

"That is good." said Sue. "Let's see her winning the gold medal."

The gates are opened, and Nancy and her opponents began to ski.

"Good way to start the competition." said Diana.

"I don't see her falling down." said Sue.

"Me either." said Diana. "She is in third place right now."

They saw Nancy skiing faster.

"She is now in first place." said Sue. "She can see the finish line."

"Let's go down and see her there." said Diana.

They went to see Nancy finishing the race there.

"Here comes Nancy." said Diana.

They saw Nancy made it to the finish line first.

"And she wins the gold medal." said Sue.

Diana and Sue went to congratulate Nancy.

"Good job for winning the gold medal." said Diana.

"Thanks, girls." said Nancy. "I really wanted to win a gold medal for skiing."

"You can do it again soon." said Sue.
