3. Eisernes Cruz (Iron Cross) (The Two for One Raid)

The excited boy who had just found his new life gave it to him. It belonged to his father, a symbol of bravery and courage—the Iron Cross. Of course, it was also the symbol of a hated regime Troy was fighting against. But—

Watching the reunion of man and son, it reminded him of his own father. Now it reminded him of the desert, of the action so long ago when every breath was life, when life was in the balance time and time again. He held the cross in his hand and closed his fingers around it. Remembering.

A/N In this episode, Peter Seidner is at first suspicious of Troy who wants to capture his father, Col. Seidner. But when Troy honorably saves the father's life, Peter is so moved he gives him his prized possession, the Iron Cross, which his father had given him. Troy tells us that he lost his own father when he was about Peter's age, so the gift is especially moving to him.
