6. Going Home
The day after the end of the Campaign, Capt. Hans Dietrich thought about putting in a radio call to Sgt. Sam Troy and his fellow Rats at their base. He wanted to congratulate them for not killing him in the last two and a half years they had been antagonists.
What would he say? Thanks for destroying my scout columns, my supply convoys, my career in the Heer? It was a time of jubilation for most and he was going home. Home to wrecked cities and ghosts of all of his old friends. It wasn't Troy's fault. Not his, alone.
