Chapter 1 : Hoshimachi Ayumi, Sakaguchi Kotomi
"Alright, everything is set. I blew up all my remaining money for this!"
That was what the girl inside this dimly lit room muttered to herself as she finished setting up her streaming equipments.
"If this works out, I might be able to reverse my situation. Maybe acquire enough money to live for a lifetime?"
While muttering that and waiting for the computer to boot up, she looks at something on her vision. Only her can see this something.
It was a floating panel in front of her vision. Written on this floating panel are a list of words. They are aligned like how a Status Panel are aligned on a typical RPG game.

This is the thing that only her can see. This is because when she woke up, a prompt also appeared on her face. It was a quest, telling her to create her Virtual Avatar and make her first appearance as a Virtual Youtuber.
When she awakened, she was not the original Hoshimachi Ayumi who woke up but another consciousness. This another consciousness is a female shut-in on Japan who died on her sleep, due to doing another a one week marathon of playing games and watching animes without sleeping.
After reading the quest prompt in her vision, she was assaulted by the memories of the real Hoshimachi Ayumi. A girl who have both her parents died in a car accident and her relatives cheated her of her parent's deeds and life insurances.
She recalled that Hoshimachi Ayumi was living in this apartment for four months now using her money that she saved up on her allowances on school before the car accident of her parents occurs.
Ayumi tried looking for some part time work but no one took her. After a month of looking for a job and failing, she just shut herself in her room while dreading about her inevitable bankruptcy.
She just paid for this month's rent and now she doesn't have much money left. This means she can only stay in this apartment for a month before she finally become homeless.
In her final moments before sleeping, she thought of dying and meeting her parents to the afterlife. Thus, after she woke up, this another consciousness became her.
Now, the new Ayumi felt that it was suspicious. Why the girl doesn't got support from the government. Then she recalled why it is.
She still doesn't have the right to be independent and she can't even take care of it due to her aunts and uncles stonewalling it. That's why everything that is related to her must come through her aunts and uncles first. Her relatives holds all the legal rights for where her life will go through.
And because the government workers in this city are known for being lazy, they didn't even try investigate on what is happening to her and just put their reports as she is fine.
Government inadequacy, obstruction of freedom, and a lot of other case can be made here but the original Ayumi doesn't know about it due to not having much knowledge about it. She was mostly dependent on her parents before they died.
And she was only 13 so it was understandable that no one would let her do a part time job.
It was a crisis for her life. So this new Ayumi immediately tried to look for something that can put her out of this situation.
And then she did what her quest told her. This apartment have a free computer so she only needs some equipments to start her streaming.
So she buys everything she needs, installed every application she needs, made a 3D model for herself, and finally she can start her life as a Vtuber.
She doesn't have any money left now. So she was betting everything she have on this quest.
On year 2035, June 5. Sakaguchi Kotomi made her first debut on the Vtuber community.
"Aaaah! So embarrassing! So embarrassing!"
She yelled that out while she was rolling around her bed.
She just finished her introduction video as Sakaguchi Kotomi.
Sakaguchi Kotomi, it was her former name on Earth before she died. She thinks using that name here will make her recall her life on that world.
Even as a shut-in, she loves her former world. Though she became a shut-in, her family still loves her and supported her to what she wants.
It's just because she was weak-willed that she doesn't manage to finish anything at all. She easily backs out when she was feeling it was difficult.
She kept repeating to herself that she will try harder next time. But she can't even do that.
Still, her family on her past life supported her. They worked just to give her any financial aid for what she desires. They always cheered her, telling her that she can do anything.
But she can't get rid of her cowardly feelings. She was also pretty shy and doesn't want to socialized with others.
It really started because she was always bullied on her childhood due to her face. Her constitution makes it easier to contain fat. So even if she eats a few, she will grow fat for just a week. She needs intensive diet for several months just to take care of her figure. And even when she wasn't fat, she always smelled bad.
This is why she was always being picked on by the people on her surroundings. Thus when she became 15, she doesn't want to get out anymore and just shut herself in her room.
She was a good person. Though she can become mad, she doesn't have the heart to fight back to other people. This makes it easier for the others to bully her.
That's why she became a shut-in on her past life. She immersed herself on games and animes.
Due to this bullying so she doesn't have any confidence to herself.
In this life, Hoshimachi Ayumi doesn't have the constitution that she have on her past life. Though she wasn't beautiful, Ayumi looks average, though she was more petite than her age suggests and she doesn't have a bust at all. She is totally flat. Her legs are not that long and her figure can be said to be androgynous. If not for her feminine face, her frail looking arms, and her long hair, she would be mistaken as a boy.
Now. As Sakaguchi Kotomi in her persona as a Vtuber, she made her avatar as a complete opposite to her appearance on her past life and also her real appearance in this world.
Her avatar was a tall girl (5'11) with long platinum colored hair it was styled in twin tails, two black long laced ribbons are tied into it. She have a pair of jade colored eyes. She was wearing an outfit that was an outright ripoff of Fujiwara Chika in her school uniform.
She already tried to search and there are no characters like that in this world so she took that design and used it for her character.
As for her background, she made it as a highschool girl who have the ability to be eternally seventeen. Her age is of course, a secret.
She didn't thought much about the background of her character so she just put it like that.
After the one minute introduction video, she immediately came to the ground and felt very embarrassed at how she acts in there.
"Ugh... can I really upload that video!? That is too embarrassing!"
She yelled while clutching her pillow hard, the pillow blocking her face as she did that.
After awhile, she finally calmed down and go back to her computer.
"Well, I still need to edit some of it. Put some captions. Maybe something simple. I am not that good at arts"
As like what she said, she is not good at arts.
In fact, her 3D Model looks wonky. It doesn't move much. It's like a choppy robot who was just standing there. Only her mouth was moving and her eyes. Also, the art of her character was pretty bad. It's like a kid's scribblings.
While it was a 3D model, her appearance looks like a bad 80's animation.
So she was feeling some trepidation whether she should even do this or not at all.
Then she remembered that her daily life is in crisis so even if she is reluctant, she needs to do this.
She steeled her resolve and started on editing the video that she made.
She have some knowledge about it due to being a shut-in for a whole decade. She have a lot of trivial knowledge about computer because she uses it everyday in her past life.
So even if it looks amateurish, she manage to make an okay video with some captions on the upper corner of the video that reads "My First Debut" in Japanese.
She then opened the YouTube site and created an account for herself. After that, she goes to all the terms and agreements there, she can finally upload videos.
She named her first channel as Sakaguchi Kotomi in Japanese.
"... It's okay, I just need to upload this!"
After taking some time, she finally got the courage to click the upload button. Her introduction video is now being processed.
After that, it was successfully uploaded.
Though she was becoming pretty embarrassed so she goes to her bed and covered her face in her pillow before she screamed.
"Aaaaaah! Now I've done it!"
While she was doing that due to embarrassment...

So this is just a new story I thought of. Yeah, another new story for me.
Well, I can't write anything else because of writer's block and I want to write something so I made this story.
So I might be affected to a lot of Chinese web novels and webcomics. This story came into being because of all of that.
Well, there is also the influence of watching a lot of videos about Hololive and Nekomiya Hinata.
