Chapter 10 : Taking Her Independence
It was now Sunday. June 27, 2035.
It's been three days since she made that apology video. After that stream, her later streams came back to playing GOS though she was only staying to Beta Server and going to other servers if she wants to play the other game modes.
Other than that, she reads on one of the daily news in the net that Yanjiro apologizes to her and also thanked her for her apology video. He also says that he hopes that they can play with each other again.
As for KumaSniper, he is still not giving any response even when asked by the media about this.
Though the media seems to want to turn this into a drama, nothing big happens after that.
After she was done for her stream, she finally announced her plans for this week.
"So this would be my last stream for this week. I will be moving out and go to a new school. Thanks to all of your support, I manage to get to a higher degree. Now, I will be leaving this school and go to a new one. I will miss this place." She said in a happy tone. "Anyway, this is your forever 17 years old highschool girl Sakaguchi Kotomi. See you again next time!~~"
After saying that, she stops her streaming.
Though there are some who are surprised about her announcement, those who also looks at her Chirper account wasn't that surprised when she said that.
She was roleplaying as Sakaguchi Kotomi so she said she was moving out to a new school, but what she really meant by that is that she was moving to a new house. That is also what is written on her account in Chirper.
And she will make sure she will succeed. That's because today, she got an appointment to the city hall to get her own citizen's ID to become independent.
(Note : Remember, this doesn't represent our Earth so the places that will be seen here are very different to it's real counterpart. This also includes anything like the policies of each country or even it's history.)
Osaka City is a city that was one of the prosperous places in Japan.
Though it might be a city full of people, this city have a lazy local governors. They always do things in a half ass way so they can finish their work quickly.
There are people who does their job seriously, but they are only at the lower rung of the hierarchy and most of the people at the upper positions are those who just doesn't want to work at all and just sit in their laurels.
Now, Hoshimachi Ayumi has just arrived at the city hall where these same lazy cods are working.
She finally managed to have an appointment after waiting for awhile.
It should be impossible for a minor of 13 years to make an appointment to one of the people on the city hall. But she manages to do that.
As to how she did that, it was because of one of her items.
It was her Success Ticket.
She doesn't know the use of that ticket so going by her instinct, she tried going outside with the goal of not being seen by any people before using her Success Ticket. When she did that, the Success Ticket vanishes and at that day, she tried going around the whole residence while feeling nervous about it. She did that until evening and no one manage to get even a glimpse of her. This happened two days ago after she was done streaming.
She didn't know this but a lot of things happened that caused the nearby people who will bump into her to either be distracted by something or they turn to another direction due to one reason or another. It was already on the level of a supernatural event just so no one can see her on that day.
So it can be called that she succeeded in that.
Now then, she uses two success tickets for today just to acquire her two goals.
Her first goal is to become independent of her uncle's family and be self-sufficient. The second goal is being able to purchase a home for herself.
She was serious when she said she wants to move out. She was so serious that she bought a large backpack and a roller bag to put all her possessions her.
On her backpack, there are her clothes and her other miscellaneous stuffs like her comb, nail cutter, nail file, etc.
Other than those, there are also a lot of Styrofoams and bubble wrappers inside her backpack. Wrapped by these Styrofoams and bubble wrappers are her Camera Set C, with some of it disassembled to pieces just to fit it inside.
On her roller bag are her own streaming equipments that she got from her system and also her money when she was first still starting.
Of course she didn't take the computer. It was owned by the apartment owner himself so she can't just take it. She took the initiative to take all the upgrades out of that computer and put the old ones back on that computer before reformatting it so no one accidentally uses her YouTube or Chirper account (if there is any lingering trace of it left).
Because most of the things she bought on her Vtuber System are pretty sensitive, so she wraps all of it in Styrofoams and bubble wrappers.
For maximum safety, she bought some abilities just so she can make sure that her items will be safe. Also, many of the things like the bubble wrappers and Styrofoam covers are all bought at the system.

As for what those abilities can do, she doesn't know much because she wasn't given any explanation about her abilities other than the name of it.
She only pick those skills because of their names, which might help her protect her stuffs while she was taking care of this business.
Now as for her Zeus Blade, it was wrapped in a blanket-like fabric. It is an item commonly used for wrapping a Shinai.
"Now then, let's go..." She said to encourage herself.
By the way, she came here in a hoodie. She wasn't comfortable being seen at all.
Though she would have preferred to go fully covered, with a facemask and all that, she decided not to.
She was going here with an appointment from one of the person here who works with the legalising of independency. She needs to be presentable so even if she was scared, it was necessary for her to not cover herself too much.
She walks towards the City Hall.
"Nice to meet you Hoshimachi Ayumi-san. I am Taneuchi Kotoba of Osaka's Local Ministry."
That was the middle age guy who greeted her when she got inside one of the rooms on the City Hall.
"Nice to meet you, I am Hoshimachi Ayumi. Thank you for giving me the time." She also returned the greeting in turn.
She said that in the most calm manner but inside, she was already a nervous wreck. Thanks to her Charisma and Talent, she manages to conceal her true emotions. Also, some of her abilities helps in that regard.
So for the eyes of the middle age guy, his first impression of her was that of a calm and collected girl. Though he can't see her face due to the hood covering most of it.
"Oh, let's have a seat." The guy said as he gestured for her to sit on the sofa.
"Yes. I'll be intruding here then..." She said that while still feeling nervous.
When she got to one of the sofa, Taneuchi Kotoba goes to one of the corner of this room and took two cups before going to another corner to take some tea. After that, he came back and presented one of the tea on her.
"Thank you." She said with a shy feeling.
Due to her Charisma, her feelings were conveyed as very sincere.
"Now then, let's get down to it shall we." The guy said before taking some papers on one of the corner of the room before presenting it on the table that was in between the sofas surrounding it. "You made an appeal, stating that you want to live independently without the support of your family. To prove that you can do it, you put your cash revenue here since the first time you started your work, is that right?"
She nodded at his words. And then he continues...
"I have a question then. Do you have a legal guardian?" He saw her nodding before he continues. "Did they know what you are doing?" She then shakes her head after that question. "That would be a problem Sakaguchi-san. We can't just do this without the knowledge of your legal guardians."
"Then you just need to call them. Tell them that I want to be independent and I am willing to be responsible to myself. Even the payment of my own taxes or any necessary documents, I will take care of it on my own." She suddenly blurted out.
Though she said that calmly, she was shocked inside her mind.
'What am I talking about!? Is that even allowed!?' She thought to herself in a panic.
"... I see, then hold on. I will be calling your legal guardian. Can you tell me who they are?"
It seems like Kotoba thought otherwise.
He felt that the child was serious about this.
In this country, a child can become independent so long as they can support themselves. Without being able to do that, they are required to be taken care of by someone, whether if it's from childcare services or being adopted to another family.
So for him, it wasn't that weird for Ayumi to say that. She got a stable income, as seen from her cash flow that she herself submitted to this city hall. It seems like she have a lot of money that it was enough to live comfortably for a decade in this city if she lives frugally while renting on a cheap apartment.
He thinks that she was confident enough to live by herself.
After Ayumi told him the name of her uncle, he told her to wait for awhile while he goes out to call his uncle.
When he left her alone...
"Ah... that was nerve wracking." She muttered to herself.
This is her first time doing this kind of thing. She knew that this is not how it is in her past life, but here it was easy for a child to become independent.
In fact, the Past Ayumi (Before Kotomi became Ayumi) was only stuck to be in care of her uncle because she doesn't want to lose the inheritance that her family left for her. Her uncle knows this and he doesn't want it to be taken by him so he kept stonewalling her when it comes to this thing.
She can become an independent for herself so long as her uncle doesn't sniff out that she can make more money.
But this is where it gets hard. If she tried becoming independent without having the capability to support herself, she will be rejected just like that. But if she got the means to support herself, her legal guardians will keep her in their side just for more cash.
So her plan is to do this as fast as possible before her uncle can even react to it. She will take her independence without him knowing any better. After that, she will get out of this city and find a place where she can buy her new home.
To do this, she needs a lot of money. This is to convince the people on this city hall that she have what it takes to live alone, and also to get out of this city and live a new life.
It's a simple plan but she thinks she can pull this off. There is also the matter about the Success Ticket so she thinks she will succeed in her plan.
After awhile, the guy came back with some papers in his hands.
"It seems like they are okay with it. You can now sign on these papers and we can go get all the particulars so you can get your Citizen ID." He said before putting the documents on the table and a pen besides it.
She didn't know this but while she was getting to this city hall, her uncle was just thinking that she was becoming too much of a burden and he needs to get rid of her. It is because he was her legal guardian on paper that he also needs to pay more taxes that includes her. Even though there are still hundreds of million yen in her family's deeds and insurances, her uncle was too stingy. He doesn't want to use his (self-proclaimed) own money for someone he doesn't even care about.
Then the call about her calling for independency was sent. She was basically saying that she doesn't need their support anymore and she will leave everything, even her family's deeds and insurances.
Due to this thought clouding his mind, he doesn't even manage to think for awhile that maybe she have a new source of income and just gave an okay to this.
That's why the whole process became much smoother.
Also, it seems like she was lucky because this guy (Taneuchi Kotoba) was one of the very few person who are serious at their work on this city hall. He took the initiative to help her and make it easier for her to understand anything she needs to know for joining the society.
It was afternoon when Ayumi was done with all the work needed for her independency. Now she was not required to be cared for by any adults.
She signed everything, even her taxes as a citizen of Japan, deposits for her life insurance, and other necessary things.
Due to her not having much or even a house so she wasn't required to fill it up. Most Japanese in this world lives in an apartment so their payment mostly goes through the landlord of whoever they are renting their living space on.
She now got the ID that states that she can basically do whatever so long as she is responsible for herself.
Of course she was given a six month probation. In this six month, she needs to be able to sustain herself while also being able to pay her taxes. After she passed this time, she will be considered as a full fledged adult who can support herself and she can do whatever without the local government watching her.
This is applicable to any cities in Japan.
Even if she was registered at Osaka, she can still go to another city and pay her taxes on that city. Japanese cities (in this world) have a database for all families who are the citizens of this country. They all shared it so when it was time to take their taxes, they can simply look at the database and see if that person was on probation or not.
In this age, most things are computerized. This includes the registered citizens of this country. So it was simple to find her name in their database.
"Now then, I should get out of this city. Maybe I'll go to Yokohama."
While she was thinking like that, her feet was already heading to the nearest train station.
She knows that if she stayed here, sooner or later her uncle will discover her new source of income and it would be troublesome if that happens. So she needs to live on another city, somewhere where her uncle can't reach her.
Yokohama was just near Tokyo. It was a part of the Greater Tokyo Region and is much farther on Osaka.
Even if her uncle comes there, he won't even think of searching for her in there. She won't even say where she is going. Also, she was still 13 years old so even if her uncle suspects that she have a new source of income and tries to search for her, he will only go as far as the neighboring cities.
So she will be safe in Yokohama from the hands of her uncle.
There is a much easier solution. It is destroying her uncle's family through the social media. Publicizing everything they did to her. But she was not that kind of person.
She just wants to get out of here as soon as possible.
"I am sorry Ayumi..." She apologized to the original owner of this body.
She was leaving what was essentially the life and the memories that the Original Ayumi treasures.
But she doesn't want to create any trouble for herself or to any other person. She was not comfortable to get into a long term debacle with her uncle. If she can leave and be at peace in her lonesome, it will be convenient to her.
While she was deep in thought, she was already in the subway station.
She got in line and waited for awhile. When it was her turn, she pays for the travel to Yokohama before going to the Shinkansen (Bullet Train).
After acquiring the ticket on the reception, she goes to the passing station and then waited for a train to arrive. A lot of people was also here but because she skillfully managed to blend herself in the crowd, no one notices her. Those who are going to bump into her we're avoided by her instinctively. Even her roller bags and her other things were all alright due to her expert maneuvering.
This is thanks to her abilities and her status (once again).
When the train arrives, a lot of people moves out of the interior of the train while those who are waiting for it's arrival are waiting for the people to be emptied out.
After it was empty, the train's door closes and they still need to wait for five more minutes. This is because the staff inside the train will clean it quickly before letting the new passengers to get inside.
When it was done, the door of the train opens and those who are waiting in this station finally gets inside.
Due to the many people getting inside, the interior of the train became crowded again.
Along with these crowd is Ayumi who is skillfully moving on this train and searching for a seat for herself.
After she found one, she tried to put her roller bag and her backpack on the compartment that was above the seat. She was pretty short so she needs to step onto something before she manages to put it on the compartment.
"... But there are many people here..." She muttered to herself while looking around her.
She looks at the compartment above her seat again. After awhile, she just sighs and gave up on putting her stuffs in the compartment. She decided to put her backpack besides her while still holding her roller bag.
It seems like no one wanted to bother her or even try to ask her to take off the bag so they can sit besides her. This is because of her Charisma and her Essence that she managed to make her feelings pronounced to her surroundings. She was thinking of people to ignore and because the people who got hit by this mysterious aura became somewhat hesitant to get near her so they just go to another area.
No one still notices her even though they can feel a pronounced presence that makes them become hesitant to go in her seat.
So for the duration of her trip to Yokohama, nothing really interesting happens.
Thus, her life at Osaka ends. Her new life in another city will begin.

This marks the end of the First Arc : Enter Sakaguchi Ayumi.
So I didn't plan for this to happen at all. I didn't thought this would end in this note.
My original idea is for her to be staying in that apartment and confront her relatives later on. Then I scrapped that idea after seeing that I am crap when it comes to that kind of conflict.
As for the thing that happened on that city hall, that's not real. Please don't think that that's how local governors work, it's not. All of this are just my delusions so don't take this seriously.
And finally, sorry for the long delay. I got busy playing Battle Cats again. There is also Danganronpa (which I just managed to know on Amane Kanata's stream) that got me hooked so I finish the first and the second game. Well, still in the middle of it.
