Chapter 11 : New Home

Yokohama, a large city that was nearly the same as Tokyo.

Ayumi just arrived here after some time passed. Just like when she got inside the Shinkansen, she easily gets out there with precise maneuvers.

"... So this is Yokohama huh... it is much different than the one I remembered." She muttered as she took on the sights of her surroundings.

In her past life when she was still too young, her family goes to Yokohama to visit the many tourist spots in there. And because they do that until she was in middle school so she remembers the look of Yokohama in her past life.

This one looks much more different. The name of the streets are different and even the structures that are supposed to be there are gone and was replaced by something else.

"Now then, I think I read somewhere on the internet about the recommended places that I can rent a house for. I should go to it then." After saying that, she walks to one of the waiting sheds there and wait for a bus in there.

After sometime, she found a bus that goes to the street that she remembered stated on her searches in the web. She entered that bus.

"So this is it." She muttered when she arrives at the place.

It was a certain house renting agency called Kuwata Home Agency.

Getting inside there, she found a balding middle aged guy inside the small reception with a cigarette still in his mouth. He was reading a newspaper when she entered the door to this place.

"Oh, are you here to canvas or are you renting?" The guy on the reception asks as he put the newspaper besides the reception desk and he gestured for her to sit at the chair in front of the reception desk.

"Nice to meet you. Uhmm... I was here to rent." She said while still feeling nervous talking to a stranger.

The guy took something below the reception desk after she said that. After awhile, he put many pamphlets in the reception desk so she can see it.

Due to her being pretty short so she took the pamphlets that was put in the reception desk and put it in her lap so she can read it.

"Do you have any preference missy?" He asks with a bored tone.

It seems like this guy was pretty unmotivated with this work.

As to how he knows that she was a girl even with the hood, it's because of her voice. It was a dead giveaway when she speaks.

"Uhmm... I would prefer if I can rent it for this much." She said as she raise three of her fingers.

"30,000? Well, that isn't possible. Even a room on an apartment costs 45,000 Yen monthly, and that's already cheap." The guy said while thinking that this child still doesn't know much about the rates in this city.

"... No, I mean I am willing to pay 300,000 for monthly rent."

When he heard her say that, he froze in shock.

'What is this girl talking about!? I thought she was just going for the cheap rooms, but she was willing to pay 300,000 Yen per month just for a house? Wait, isn't that too much!?'

That was what he was thinking while looking at Ayumi with a suspicious look.

This looks weird for an outsider but even if she looks like a child, this guy was still seriously considering that she was a customer. There are some cases here where people looks like a child even though they are already an adult.

Yes, he thinks she was one of those.

Also, he saw her carrying a large backpack and a roller bag, which indicates that she was moving out. A child can't go to other cities without showing them their legal civilian IDs. They need their legal guardian's permission before they can do that.

But even though he thinks of her as an adult, he is still suspicious of the fact that she have the kind of money that she was claiming to have. A budget of 300,000 Yen, and she said she was willing to use all of it?

She doesn't look like someone from those high class people. Her clothes already makes it obvious. Though her voice was very beautiful, but he thinks no beautiful girl would hide their appearance with a shabby hoodie like what she is wearing. It was also of an old and common brand and looks worn out.

"I am not kidding. To confirm, here is my credit card." She said before showing her credit bank card.

"... Okay, sorry for suspecting you. Then, how about this."

Due to her Charisma, she easily manages to let him believe her.

Then the whole process became smooth and after choosing a house, they go with the particulars before she signed the contract.

Because she said that she will pay in full for a whole year, the guy panics and told her that she should just buy the house itself instead of renting it for a whole year.

The rent for the house is 150,000 Yen per month. It was a two story house with a living room, a large kitchen, a backyard, and also five rooms for personal usage. There is also a single storage house besides that house. So the price was like that.

Hearing her saying that she will just pay 1.8 Million Yen as a deposit, the guy felt a headache coming to him as he tried to tell her to just buy the house because she got the money to do so.

The cost of the house is 3.6 Million Yen. It was a house taken from the bank and was being managed by this agency after the family owning it abandoned it and go to another place. It's already thirty years so the house became like that.

It was still clean and maintained because some people also rents that house at this agency. But the house have that kind of value because there are much better house and lots on the other place. Also, it wasn't a convenient place for people who doesn't want to stay there for their whole life.

Which also means that it was perfect for her. It was on the residential area, which is pretty far to where many sights and tourists spots are located. The location doesn't have anything interesting in it. It's just a plain residence.

After awhile, he said that the agency will take care of cleaning the house and anything else on it so the electricity and the water works on it again. It's been six months since the last time it was going to be used so they need to call the electricity and water companies where that house is connected to reconnect it.

He said that the house will be ready tomorrow so she should stay for a hotel and he will just call her.

She gave him her number so they can call her and she can move in there.

He was also surprised in the middle of the process when she showed her legal ID. Specifically, he was surprised at her age. Thankfully, he didn't pursue it that much and just thinks that Ayumi is just one of those people who can take care of themselves at a young age.

After that, she left while feeling satisfied.

Tomorrow morning, Ayumi wakes up much earlier to clean herself. After that, she left the hotel where she is staying.

After that, she goes to a certain fast food restaurant to eat her breakfast.

While she was walking to that establishment, she was checking how much money she have in her bank account.

"I still have 10 Million Yen." She muttered to herself.

Then she arrives at the fast food restaurant.

She sits on one of the free tables there and ordered their breakfast pack.

Then while she was waiting, her thoughts came to a certain direction.

"... Should I still continue my Streaming?"

She muttered that to herself in curiosity.

She just did what her system wants to because she wants to get out of that city and live somewhere where Ayumi's uncle can't get to her. After that, she doesn't know what to do next.

At the start, she was not that serious at becoming a Vtuber. It was her only path when her system makes it's presence known in her vision.

But now that she wasn't desperate anymore, she can just stop and live the rest of her life in peace. It wasn't like she needs to get more stronger. She is not preparing to fight someone after all.

But now...

"... Right, that's a useless thought. Of course I will continue my virtual youtube streaming." She said to herself and shakes off the thought of quitting her only job.

It's not even a job anymore, it became her hobby.

Even when she was two weeks old on her Vtuber career, she found it to be fun. She can't imagine herself quitting on it anymore.

Basically, she came to like it.

It might have something to do with her character reminding herself of her past life or it might because it was the first choice that she did that she sticks through until now. No matter the reason, she doesn't want to quit now.

'But well, I think getting stronger is useless now huh... I am already at the level that can be considered as a superhuman. Going beyond that is just overdoing it.' She thought to herself.

Then she decided not to raise her status anymore. She wasn't planning to fight anyone after all. There is also no one threatening her life or something.

Also, she doesn't have any friends or close relatives that she can trust. She is truly alone in her life. So she doesn't need to go around and make herself stronger to protect someone.

"Here is your order miss."

Her musings was interrupted when a waitress came to her side and put her breakfast pack on the table.

"Thanks."

After that, she ate in silence.

She stayed at the fast food restaurant until she receives a call in her phone.

When she take it to answer the call, she heard the voice of the guy who she talks to yesterday.

He just asks where she is because her house was ready and she can move out now. He also asks if he needs help for moving her things.

She didn't need their help and just said that she will do it alone. She just said that she only needs a ride to go there.

After that, she said where she will be waiting and then finally ended the call.

She sounds pretty calm when she is talking at the phone but in reality, she was becoming anxious. She wanted to end their conversation as quickly as possible.

After waiting for awhile, she was called and they told her that a car was waiting for her.

Looking on the parking area that was just in front of the glass panel besides her seat, she saw the car in their description.

She leaves the fast food restaurant carrying all her things and goes to that car.

When she got near there, the front seat door's window slowly lowered itself and inside it is a guy in casual clothes looking at her.

"Are you Hoshimachi Ayumi?" He asked.

She nodded and then took her ID to show it to him.

The guy look at it for awhile and then nodded. After that, he returned her ID.

"Just to make it sure, here is my ID for that agency." The guy said before showing her his ID that he was wearing on his neck.

She saw that it have his picture and on top of it have the brand of the agency's name that she came to yesterday.

"And because I don't want to be accused of kidnapping a child, so there is also this female colleague of mine along with me."

Ayumi nodded and she saw a head behind him looking at her and waving a hand at her direction.

"So, is that believable enough?" The guy asks while feeling somewhat nervous at Ayumi's presence.

Truthfully, he was scared when he was asked to escort a girl to her new home. Though he is one of those people who thinks that children of that age shouldn't be living alone for themselves, it's not the reason why he doesn't want to go.

The truth is, he is just scared of being arrested. People in this country are pretty sensitive to middle aged guys taking a child somewhere. It's a quick way of getting locked up behind the cells, no matter the reason.

Only the kid's real parents or their legal guardian can go along with them without having that kind of experience.

"Kenichi, your so stiff. I'm sure she can understand that much even without all of this preparations. She was approved by the city hall to be independent after all." His female colleague said to him with a giggle.

"What can I do? I look like a buff dude and then a child in a hoodie was going inside my car. That will alarm a lot of outsiders." He reasoned while scratching his head.

Ayumi just watches them talking like that back and forth. She didn't want to interrupt them. She was too shy to do so.

"... Oh sorry, we forgot about you. Anyway, get inside now and we will take you to your home." The guy said.

Then his female colleague goes out of the car and opened the door to the back seat for her.

"Thanks." She said with a small nod before going inside.

After that, the woman helps her on putting her backpack and her roller bag inside the compartment behind the car. She then came back to the from seat and tell the guy to drive them now.

The blade was hidden inside a cloth. She is still clutching it so when she got inside the car, she was the one who put it in her lap.

While driving, Ayumi was just too quiet and because the two doesn't want to bother her because they think she will only see it as them being meddlesome so they just talk at each other.

"Oh right, will you still be playing GOS tonight?" The woman asks the guy.

"Huh? Yeah... Kotomi-chan won't be streaming for this week due to her moving out or something. It's really sad because I became a recent fan of her." That was what Kenichi (the guy on the driver's seat) said.

"You just knew her because of me. I told you, you will become a big fan of her. I don't know why but she have this strange charm to her that makes me drawn to her gameplay." The woman said. "Anyway, where do you think she is moving?"

"Hmm... I think somewhere on Tokyo. It have a lot of good residences there. There are also many places there where she can buy new upgrades for her computer or something." The guy replied.

"Haaah... I want to play with her. It's too bad because Guugure and the others are too fast when she makes a room."

"Hah. That's impossible. We can only join there if we have the hands like those maniacs."

"Isn't that right?"

After that, they laugh.

While that is happening, Ayumi herself was shocked when she heard them talking about her virtual persona, Sakaguchi Kotomi.

She have an urge to talk to them about it and proudly tell them that she was the one they are talking about but due to her timidness and also through sheer will, she just didn't bother and just listen to them talking at each other.

After awhile, they finally arrived at the residence and some time later, to her house.

"Okay Hoshimachi-san, here is your new home." Kenichi says as he opened the door so she can leave.

Then he also goes to the compartment on the back and carry her things to put in front of the gate. After that, he came back to her and then handed her the keychain to the house.

"Thank you." She said with a small nod before walking to the front door.

"Wait."

She stops and turn her head to Kenichi who called out to her.

"Are you sure you don't want any help for that?" He asks while looking at her with worry.

"... Yes, I am fine." She said before bowing on their way again.

After that, the two of them said their farewells and then left her. Now she was alone.

"Okay, now that I am alone, it's time to set this all up. But first, I should check the look inside the house."

She said that to herself before opening the door with the key in her hand.

After that, she goes inside along with all her things.

"Phew... I am just done taking care of this."

She said with her hands on her hips as she looks at her new room on the second floor.

As stated on the pamphlet that she got, it was a house with a large kitchen, a living room, a backyard, and five rooms for personal use. There is also a storage room.

There is also two bathrooms, one on each floor.

It seems like there are not much here other than the furnitures. There is not even a TV inside this house.

As for what she did, she sets up her new computer inside her room and also her whole equipment. The room is pretty large when she takes out everything in there, even the bed. She put anything she took out on that room into the storage room.

As for the computer, due to not having it so she buys one on her system. She buys a complete set which costs her 10,000 VP.

She also called for an internet provider and got a quick reply, telling her that they will be doing it was tomorrow. Of course this happens after she paid them upfront with her bank account using her cheap smartphone.

She also took care of setting up all of her streaming equipment inside this room.

After that, she also put her other stuffs on the other room. This room will be her sole streaming area. The other three rooms are empty and she don't know what to do with that. Then the last room is her personal room where she can sleep or put her other stuffs. This is also the room where she put the Zeus Blade in the corner.

Still, she is still not done. There is still the matter about her daily necessities. She needs to buy a lot of things like cooking utensils, cleaning tools, and a refrigerator so she can store a lot of things for her.

"... It seems like I will be busy with this week. Good thing I said that on my stream before ending my stream." She said to no one before going to her room. "For now, I want to sleep. It's been a long day." She said to herself before entering in her room and going straight to her bed.

In an unknown place...

"How did this happen. Who could have possibly forced the fate itself to bend it's metaphorical knees." A voice of a female asks in astonishment.

A silhouette of a female was moving around this place that can't be considered a place for mortals. It was a place that like a kaleidoscope but it was shining yet it's not dazzling at all.

The female then looks below. From there, she was looking at a miniature model of the observable universe.

"It is there. This is where I felt that something which forced the very destiny to bend to it's will." She muttered to herself.

Then she flicked her finger.

A strange anomaly suddenly occurs behind her before a figure appears.

"What can I do for you, Lady Cestval." A voice that sounds like it came from the abyss itself asks her that.

"I want you to go down to the mortal world and find out what is it that I, the Goddess of Fate, was troubled with." She said that with a tone of absolute authority.

"Understood, Lady Cestval."

With that, the figure suddenly vanishes.

"... I wonder what it is?" She asks to no one as her stare was pointed to the miniature model of the observable universe.

So that last scene... well, it will become a plot point much much later. Meaning, it won't appear in this arc.

I just showed that because I don't want to surprise my readers when I decided to suddenly introduce a character that have a ridiculous background out of nowhere.

Also, this makes it obvious that this alternate Earth is not as simple as it seems. Yes, the Essence part of her status already hinted that there is something supernatural in this world. I did say this is the Isekai equivalent of the modern world right?

Maybe you forgot that... It was on my author's note on the very first chapter...

Anyway, as for Hololive, I am planning to put them here. In fact, it's my first idea before I even created this story. But I don't know how to insert them here. They are a wonderful bunch and I don't want to ruin it like that.

My current plan is to create an alternate version of Hololive in this world... but if you want me to put the original ones then just tell me... I don't know if I can pull it off (I didn't even know who are the people behind them).
