Chapter 14 : Mysterious Pendant
It was the next day when she found a body lying just besides the wall near her gate, outside the interior of her house.
Ayumi was just trying to take her garbages to the nearest trash disposal area. It was just two houses away from her house.
The sun wasn't rising yet. She always take her trashes out at this time so no one can see her.
She was not expecting to see someone on the streets, lying on the ground and was unconscious.
"Who is this!?"
So it was a surprised for her when she saw just that. A girl lying on the street besides her gate, unconscious.
She drops the garbage bags that she was carrying as she goes over the prone girl.
When she got kneeled besides the unconscious girl though, her hand was suddenly grabbed by the girl.
"Huh!?" She was surprised at the sudden contact and she almost subconsciously swat her hand away.
Then the girl spoke in a weak voice.
"Please... hide it... I leave it to you..." After saying that, her hand lost it's strength.
She doesn't understand what is happening. Also, she felt something in her hand that was grabbed.
Looking at her hand, she saw that there was a pendant with the word "Yuki" engraved in it and some ancient designs on it. It was made of bronze and it's lace seems to be made of something she doesn't know. It's like silk but it was also not like that.
She was confused and then questioned to her mind what is happening. It only took a moment due to her quick thought process and she manage to decide something normal.
"For now, I should call the ambulance. As for this pendant, maybe I'll hold into it and give it back when she finds it?" She said to herself.
Deciding like that, she quickly take her cheap smartphone and called the number for emergency. When the call came through and she was asked why she was calling, she told them about the situation and also location of her house, which is where she is currently located.
After that, she was asked to stay there for awhile.
She was thankful that she always wore a hoodie to cover her face whenever she wants to go out. She doesn't want anyone to see her at all due to not having the confidence for that.
She stayed besides the girl, her bags of trash already forgotten as she waits for the ambulance to come.
After the ambulance came, the unconscious girl was quickly taken to a stretcher and was put in the ambulance car.
As that was happening, she was asked what happened again and she repeated what she talks about in the phone. She came out to take her trashes out and then she finds the unconscious girl outside her gate, besides it.
She also told them about the pendant and it seems like they don't know what to do with it so they told her to hold onto it and just visit when the girl wakes up. She was asked to give them her number so they can call her for the pendant.
Other than that, nothing much happens as they go out.
Some crowd came to look at the scene but after the ambulance goes out, all of them lost interest and go to whatever they want to do.
The sun has already risen and it seems like some people are awaken due to the sound of the ambulance's sirens.
Ayumi looks at the pendant that the girl passed to her and then she sighs.
"What should I do with this?" She asks to no one.
After putting her trash on the nearby garbage disposal bin, she goes back to her house to clean it.
Before that though, she goes to her Forbidden Room. It is to store the pendant that was given to her.
"I don't know what's with the pendant but I think it's fine to put it in here right?" She said to herself as she opens the lock of her Forbidden Room.
After getting inside there, she opened the curtains covering the window and then light pours through inside the room.
As stated, anything besides light can't get inside this room. Even electricity can't somehow get inside here. So the only light source that she have is the light on the window. She also have an electric lamp that she bought online just on the corner of the room but she wasn't using that because it was still morning and there is still light on the outside.
Inside the room are three large chest on the corner and some drawers and cabinet on the other side of the room. There are also a table in the middle of the room where some glass bottles containing pills and capsules of different colors are located. Each of the type of pills and capsules were separated by a different glass bottle.
There is also the Zeus Blade that was just leaning on the corner of the room where the cabinet is located.
The whole room looks vast due to it not having much inside it. She takes out the bed and some other things that was on this room when she was changing the appearance of this room into a Forbidden Room so it looks spacious.
She opens one of the drawer there and put the pendant inside it before closing it again. Then she leaves the room and locks it again.
After that, she finally do what she always do everyday. Clean the house, wash herself, cook some food, and then prepare herself for streaming.
While she was doing all of this, the pendant that she put inside the drawer on the Forbidden Room was radiating a dim light.
Senryuu-dou. A large Yakuza clan known in Japan.
It was also known to be a group that people shouldn't mess with, even if they are part of the local government.
But there is a secret on their success why they became one of the most feared Yakuza clan in Japan.
They are a part of the Other Side.
Other Side. It is a term used to people who have an awareness to the supernatural side of this world. Those who have abilities or are anomalous in nature are all part of the Other Side.
They are called Other Side because they are a people who doesn't live like the people of this world. They all works differently, and hides their existence to the world.
There are some who shows their power to the mass but those are only the lower tier members of the Other Side. The truly higher members doesn't care what happens to the people living in this world or they have their own problems involving the supernatural.
Now as for Senryuu-dou. Their front is being a dangerous Yakuza clan that can't be touched by the government. Though they won't do anything to the populace and the government will tell the populace not to mess with them.
The clan doesn't do anything to the eyes of the populace that will force the whole country to move against them. They have confirmed cases of possessing firearms and owners of some districts that mostly contains some gambling dens or night clubs, but they don't have anything that can threaten the whole country. At least on paper.
In reality, some people from the Japanese Government is also a part of the Other Side. And almost anyone part of the Other Side knows each other so they knew that Senryuu-dou is a part of their world.
Senryuu-dou was one of the seven greatest supernatural factions on Japan. They hold many relics and artifacts, all of it bearing a legend or a mysterious power in it.
And one of the artifacts was stolen by them.
Specifically, it wasn't really stolen. It was taken by it's original owner.
But they won't care about that. They saw that artifact and then they tried to take it by force. The one who holds it was just a no name girl that was a part of the Other Side.
So they are hunting that girl and they want to retake what was "Stolen" by them.
But they can't really make a large show in front of the crowd. They don't want many people to learn about the Other Side and join in it.
They don't want many people trying to master some powers and cause a chaos to their status quo.
So they need to be sneaky. That's why they dispatched their two elite members.
The two are Haguro Kazagumo and Mioda Naomi. Along with them are just some no name goons who doesn't know anything about the Other Side. These people was given to them by Senryuu-dou to help them on finding the girl through normal and illegal means.
And currently, they just got a report to one of those goons.
"Is that true?"
"Yes. The Shirakami girl that you are hunting was taken on the Ooyada Hospital, Room 405 on the 4th Floor. What should we do?"
"... Your job is done. We will do the rest." Naomi said and dismissed the goon.
After that, she stippled her fingers as she looks at Kazagumo on the side of the table.
They are in one of the restaurants in this city. They decided to eat here before continuing their search for the pendant.
"It seems like the girl will die then. Let's take the pendant and finish this mission." Naomi said.
"Finally, this waste of time is finally over!" Kazagumo replied with a large grin on his face.
After standing up, they leave their payment on the table and then go out of the restaurant.
Outside are some of their henchmen with their cars ready.
They quickly go to the same car and go to the passenger seat on the back. Then the car was driven by one of their henchmen. Five other cars are trailing them. These five are also part of their group.
All of them are going to the hospital in question.
When they arrived at the hospital, the two of them walks inside it while telling their henchmen to standby.
They go straight to the stairs leading to the upper floors. They don't need to inquire about their target's location because they already got that intel by one of their goons.
When they got to the fourth floor, they moves towards the room stated by their henchman. Then they opened it.
Inside is a single room for a single patient. There is only one bed and there is a large window besides it.
On the bed is the one they are targeting. She was a girl that was still in her midteens. She have a waist length black hair and she have a fair look.
The two of them move near her and look around the room. Then they look at the things that was besides her bed.
"... Wait... where is the pendant?" Naomi asks as she looks around once again.
Kazagumo's body trembled in anger as he saw that she doesn't possess what they are looking for.
"... Shit!" He grits his teeth as his eyes turned menacing on the direction of the unconscious girl.
And then a nurse entered the room. Seeing the two of them, the nurse did the basic procedure for visitors.
"Uhmmm... Are you two related to her?" She asks them.
Naomi quickly jerks her head to the nurse's direction before she quickly moves to her side. Her hands grabs the shoulders of the nurse while her eyes was staring directly at the nurse's eyes.
"Eep!?" The nurse was surprised at the sudden close contact.
"Tell me. Where is the pendant that this girl possessed?" Naomi ordered to the girl while her eyes suddenly glowed with a esoteric light.
The nurse's eyes suddenly turned dead and her expression became slack as she answered Naomi.
"I don't know. But I think you can ask the people who took her here." She answered with a flat tone.
"Then where are those guys?"
The nurse told Naomi where are the guys are. They seem to be taking a break on a nearby food house just beyond the road in front of this hospital.
"Motherfucker!" Kazagumo curses as he moves closer to the unconscious girl on the bed.
Naomi, knowing already what he is planning, just sighed before speaking.
"Kazagumo, just don't get long." She said before turning her attention to the nurse again. "And you, you must walk out of this room and then forget everything you see or heard in this room."
The nurse then turned her back and leaves the room.
While that is happening, a meaty pumped suddenly resounded on the room.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH! MAKING OUR LIVES HARDER EVEN WHEN YOUR DEAD? I'LL BREAK YOUR BONES!" Kazagumo roared as he smashes the body of the unconscious girl with his large fist.
The bed broke and the floor cracks with just his first punch.
The unconscious girl just groaned before vomiting out blood. Other than that, she didn't move that much due to how weak she is. She didn't even opened her eyes.
"Kazagumo. Don't cause too much damage."
Kazagumo stops before he continued by just stomping on the girl's stomach repeatedly. He wasn't using his full strength in this time.
Then Naomi took her phone and called her henchmen. She told them to ask the people who took this girl in this hospital.
Then she waited. With the only sound in the background being the pounding of flesh. The blood was painting the floors and the broken bed in red as she stood there waiting for the reply.
Then after waiting for awhile, her goon called once again.
"I see... so this is the address of the one who holds the pendant now huh..." She muttered to herself before turning to Kazagumo again.
Kazagumo just stopped beating up the girl when he heard that the pendant was found once again. He looks at Naomi with a large frown on his face.
"Give me a minute, I'll just snap this bitch in half."
"... Suit yourself..."
With that, Naomi leaves the room, ignoring the sound of snapping bones as she closes the door of that room.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't break your enjoyment of your story...
Well, I always can't avoid making my story dark whenever I tried moving the plot along. It just goes with my writing skill I guess...
This might not be a good time to answer some of the reviews due to the grim atmosphere of this chapter so maybe I'll reply to it on my next Author's note... or somewhere where I felt it appropriate.
