~~~Chapter Eleven~~~
~~~Previous~~~
"I sacrificed precious studying time to memorize my lines! Give me back the time to read three study guides! Bubble Spray Freezing!" Ami-chan calls out.
Bipierrot is now encased in ice. Usagi and I get out our rods. "Ruining the play is unforgivable!" Usagi scolds angrily.
"Moon Princess Halation!" We both call out at the same time.
"Cleansing!" She turns back into a card; black smoke is released and the card fades to black.
The crowd cheers. I hear Shingo in the crowd. "It's great! This is the best play ever!"
Moonlight Knight is standing on the crescent moon. "Now, this is a happy ending. A girl's face in the spotlight is beautiful. Adieu." The crescent moon is drawn into the air and the curtains shut.
The spotlight is shining on us. The crowd is still cheering. "Encore! Encore! Encore!"
We wave. "We did it!" We smile and say together.
~~~Present~~~
Cardian attacks during the early hours of the morning, causing Usagi and me to sneak out of the house. "Now, Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia!" Luna orders.
We take out our rods. "Moon Princess Halation!" We both call out at the same time.
"Cleansing!" the Cardian turns back into her card. Black smoke is released and the card fades to black.
Eiru's and An's image appears in the sky. "Damn you, sailor senshi!" Eiru curses.
"Just you remember this!" An shouts.
The sun begins to rise from behind us. Due to that Ami-chan, Mako-chan, Usagi, and I are late heading to school. "I'm gonna be late!" Usagi cries.
"I am going to be late! And I have never been late in all my fourteen years of life!" Ami-chan admits.
"Unless we run faster, we'll be in trouble!" Mako-chan warns.
We get to school as the bell is starting to ring. We run up to our classroom. Usagi opens the classroom door. "Here!" Usagi's foot gets caught in a bucket and ends up crashing into a cabinet. "Tsukino Usagi is here!" Ms Haruna is standing behind Usagi. "Even when I try this hard, she'll still mark me for tardiness."
"Tsukino Usagi-san, it's nice that you are always so energetic, but please be a little quieter when you enter the classroom." Ms Haruna scolds.
"Yes, ma'am." Usagi agrees.
"Then, I will continue taking attendance." Ms Haruna says as she walks back up to the front of the class.
~~~3rd POV~~~
~~~Staff Room~~~
The phone rings and a male teacher answers it. He stands up when Ms Haruna walks in. "Sakurada-Sensei, you have a phone call."
"Oh, thank you." She takes the phone. "Hello, this is Sakurada. Oh, Kouichi-kun! If you're talking about today's date, everything is fine. I will be there as soon as school is over…" She trails off and goes pale. "You have urgent business and have to cancel. Oh, okay…" Her face turns dark. "Oh, don't worry, I'm fine. Okay. Then, I will talk to you later." She holds the phone in the air briefly before putting it down loudly.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We have a break and Usagi is leaning on her desk. Ms Haruna walks back into the classroom and looks to be in a bad mood. "How long will you keep up this noise?! Get back in your seats!"
We begin reading from our textbooks. "'Once upon a time, there was a pretty girl on the moon.' Now, let's have someone translate this for us. Tsukino-san!"
I hear Usagi let out a gulp. Ms Haruna knocks Usagi's textbook down to see that Usagi is eating from her bento. "You have some nerve, eating lunch during my class, Tsukino-san."
"Oh, no! It's not what you think!" Usagi denies.
"Stay late after school!" Ms Haruna orders.
"No way!" Usagi exclaims.
"Then, how about Ginga Natsumi-san?" Ms Haruna says.
"Yes, ma'am. Hali le la sa su lela…" Natsumi says softly.
"What are you saying?!" Ms Haruna demands.
Natsumi holds up her hand to the side. "You asked me to translate it, so I translated it into our planet's language."
Ms Haruna bangs her hands on Natsumi's desk. "Quit joking around! You will also stay after school!"
"Yes, ma'am." Natsumi agrees.
~~~3rd POV~~~
~~~On the Roof~~~
An leans against the roof fence while Eiru places his hands on it. "So? I assume she didn't find out who you are."
An lifts her head and looks at him. "No, I don't think we need to worry about that."
Eiru removes his hands from the fence and clenches his fist. "This could happen again. You have to be very careful."
"I understand." An agrees.
Eiru unclenches his fist. "I have no choice. I will carry out the new plan to steal more energy by myself."
An looks away and bites her thumbnail. "This is all those sailor senshi's fault!"
"That's right." Eiru agrees before holding up the cards. "This time, make sure to pick a Cardian stronger than them!" He spreads them out.
"Okay." She lifts her hand and reaches towards the cards.
"Natsumi-san! Natsumi-san! Oh, there you are!" Usagi says as she runs towards her. She wraps her arms around Natsumi's arm. "Haruna says detention starts now." Usagi pulls her towards the door.
"Oh, but I…" An trails off.
"Of we don't hurry up, she'll give us even more homework!" Usagi warns.
"Okay, okay! Please don't pull me so hard." An says back.
Eiru looks down as they rush down the stairs. "She's so adorable! Usagi-san, I'll make sure to win your heart."
~~~After School~~~
While Usagi stays after school and the girls wander off elsewhere I head on home. As soon as I get home I sit at my desk in my study and quickly finish my homework.
I change into a green dress with light green lace over the chest, and a light brown belt around the waist with pale gold X's around it. The pattern on the top of the dress is green swirl and dots and on the bottom is pale silver lines all around with fruit outlines along the bottom with dots and stars underneath.
Light green high heels with a green ribbon around the ankles and a bow at the top of the foot. Green handbag with a white flap, a bow around the middle and the same pattern along the bottom and sides as the dress. I place on light green dangle earrings and a green bow with pearls along the bottom.
I head up to the moon. I look around to see Mama Lily, Mama Serenity, Papa James, Pa Sirius, and Uncle Moony sitting in the field of flowers. I go over there and we spend the next couple of hours just talking. I learn more about Mama Lily and Papa James from when they were at school, the pranks they played and how they ended up together.
Mama Serenity told me more about the different planets that exist and those that don't exist anymore. Even the different type of energy that is used and the special trees especially the one that is raised through love. Though she can't remember the name of that certain tree.
Crescent and Yue are getting stroked and fussed over by Mama Lily and Mama Serenity. Pa keeps on giving them looks but that is to be expected due to him having a grim animal form. Uncle Moony is just giving Pa a fond exasperated look.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Minako sits down in front of the fountain. "That's right, Usagi-chan has to stay late and study and Selena-chan has already gone home." She lets out a sigh.
"Usagi has no motivation whatsoever!" Rei scolds.
"But we had a busy morning to start with." Makoto points out.
"In a way, I do feel sorry for her," Luna admits.
"And Ami's at cram school," Artemis adds. "I guess we have to cancel today's meeting."
Minako stands up. "Then, why don't we go see a movie together?"
Makoto lifts her arm in the air. "Good idea."
"There's a good one playing right now!" Rei offers, holding up a finger.
Luna turns her head away in disapproval. "No! You're not allowed to see a movie on your way home!"
Minako picks them up and places them inside her large bag. She zips it up. "Don't worry, it's not a big deal!" She picks up both of her bags as she stands up. "Okay, let's go!"
~~~With Usagi~~~
Usagi and Natsumi sit at their desk and are made to write. "I will not let you go home until you finish those questions." Ms Haruna walks past their seats. "Don't worry, I will be here with you. we have plenty of time."
The classroom door opens, and a male teacher is standing there. "Sakurada-Sensei, you have a phone call."
Ms Haruna places a hand in front of her mouth. "What? Oh, really? You two keep on studying." She heads to the staff room and answers the phone call. "Sorry to keep you waiting. Oh, Kouichi-kun! No, I'm not mad at all! What? Right now? Of course, I can! Okay, I understand. I will be there right away!"
She puts the phone down and applies some makeup. "Oh, he made me worry so much this morning."
Back in the classroom, Usagi is staring down at the sheet in front of her. Usagi looks up. "Haruna's still not back yet." She puts down her pencil. "Okay! I don't have time for this!" She stands up and picks up her bag. She places it on her desk, opens it and starts putting her things inside. "I'll go home early to find nee-chan and go see Mamoru-san!"
An looks up at Usagi. "Tsukino-san."
"Huh? What?" Usagi asks.
"Let's play a game." An offers.
"A game?!" Usagi questions.
An holds up her sheet. "Yes, let's see who can finish these questions first. And the one who loses will give up on Mamoru-sama. What do you think?"
"Okay." Usagi agrees before the pair of them head back to their seats. Mamoru-san and Nee-chan are connected through the red string of fate but I think Natsumi-san thinks that I like Mamoru-san, but I don't as he belongs to nee-chan.
They both get to work and start answering the questions.
~~~With Eiru~~~
Eiru appears on the top of a high building. He holds up his hand and the card appears in it. He throws it above him, and it hovers in the air. "Come forth, Cardian Amanju!" He brings the flute up to his lips and begins to plat the tune.
The card glows and energy is released until a figure appears. "Aman!"
Eiru lowers his flute. "Now, Amanju, steal energy from everyone in town." He looks down and his eyes widen. Chiba Mamoru? He narrows his eyes. If I could just get rid of him…"Amanju, steal that man's energy first! Go ahead, steal as much energy as you can and kill him!"
"Aman!" Amanju shouts before she jumps in the air.
Eiru looks around confused just as she jumps higher using his head making him fall forward slightly. "Wait! You're ignoring my orders! Where are you going?"
The Doom Tree glows blue in response which neither An nor Eiru's sees as they weren't there.
~~~With Usagi~~~
Now, I have to tackle this seriously. An eyes lose focus. I don't have enough energy. I'm getting dizzy. If I had enough energy, these questions would be a piece of cake. She reaches up and rubs her temples. And I could make her give up… She looks up and looks at Usagi. What am I thinking? The energy is right here.
Usagi sits up and scratches her head with her pencil. She lets out a sigh. "Man! I don't get this!"
An stands up and chuckles in her mind. On top of which, if I steal all her energy and kill her, Mamoru-sama will be mine. She turns into her true form. I can kill two birds with one stone. Her eyes flash blue.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
After a couple of hours had passed I said goodbye to them all and headed back to my bedroom. I pick up the book of Greek buildings and designs before heading over to the arcade.
~~~At the Arcade~~~
I sit down at a table after ordering a hot chocolate. I take out my book and begin reading.
~~~Mamoru's POV~~~
I am walking past the arcade when I see Selena sitting near the window. A memory flashed across my mind. Of when she was wearing the same clothes and reading a similar book.
I push the memory aside before walking into the arcade and sitting on the opposite chair.
It is long before she looks up from her book. "Mamoru, is something the matter?"
"No, nothing is wrong. What are you reading?" She hands the book over to me. 'Greek Buildings and Designs'. "Is it any good?"
"Yeah, it is. I am only reading as I have to wait for Usagi. She had to stay after school to study English."
We spend the next two hours talking about different topics. Though I can't help but feel like we have had this same conversation before.
~~~3rd POV~~~
~~~Absolutely Pass Cram School~~~
The wall breaks causing all of the people inside to let out a shout as a large cloud of smoke covers them.
"W-What's that?" Two students' questions as the smoke begin to clear.
Ami looks up with wide eyes as she sees a Cardian standing in front of them. "A C-Cardian?!"
"Aman!" Amanju shouts before reaching out and placing her hands on the heads of two students. They glow blue as their energy is drained. She drops them and jumps out of the window. "Aman!" She lands on a truck before jumping off again.
The rest of the student's crowd around the broken window and look outside. "What was that?"
Ami stays back and gazes towards the window before getting out her minicomputer. "This is Ami! A Cardian showed up!"
~~~With the Girls~~~
"Are you sure, Ami-chan?" Minako questions.
"Where?" Makoto asks.
"At my cram school. But it already left, heading northwest!" Ami comments.
"I got it, let's meet somewhere right away!" Minako agrees.
Makoto reaches over and places her hand on Rei's shoulder. "Come on, let's go, Rei-chan."
Rei turns her head to look back at them. "What? It's just getting interesting."
"Hey, it's time to go to work!" Luna orders.
"Okay, I got it." Rei agrees.
They get up, get their things and move from their seats. Minako stops when a blonde-haired blue-eyed man comes onto the screen. "Oh, Allan…"
"Minako, you hurry too." Artemis scolds.
~~~With Usagi~~~
Usagi continues to look at her test trying to fill it in. An moves up behind her and reaches out with her hand.
Usagi abruptly sits up and rubs her head. "Oh, I don't get it!" She leans back down.
An lets out a soft gasp before looking back at Usagi. She steps forward slowly. Usagi's elbow hit her rubber causing it to fall to the floor. She reaches down to get it at the same time An lunges at her causing her to fall over Usagi's desk and knock it over.
Usagi stands up and looks down at her. "What are you doing, Natsumi-san?"
An sits up, in her human disguise. "Oh." She lets out a laugh. "I'm just exercising for a change! One, two…"
~~~Elsewhere~~~
"Aman!" Amanju calls out as she flies over the tree beneath her. She spins and lands on a climbing set.
Eiru appears in front of her as she does. "Wait, Amanju! Your target is…"
"Aman!" She jumps off again and lands in some bushes.
"What in the world is going on?!" Eiru mutters confused. "It's impossible for a Cardian to ignore my orders." He clenches his fist.
~~~With Usagi~~~
Usagi sits back down and gets to work when An moves away from her desk. An stands behind her again, in her true form. Her eyes flash blue. I never give up. An red aura surrounds her as she reaches out towards Usagi once more.
Usagi suddenly lets out a yawn and stretches her arms in the air causing her pencil to go into An's nose.
An steps back and places her hands over her nose. "Ouch!"
Usagi blinks in surprise before looking behind her. "Oh, sorry! It's your own fault. Because you snuck up behind me and stood there."
An turns away and places a hand on her desk. Ah, I'm so unlucky today.
Usagi lets out a sigh. "I wonder what happened to Haruna?"
~~~Elsewhere~~~
Haruna and a male are walking together. She has her head placed on his shoulder and her arm wrapped around his. Haruna lets out a sigh. "I feel like I'm forgetting something. I wonder what it could be? Well, it's okay, right? It's probably not anything important."
Amanju appears behind them. "Aman!" She shouts causing Haruna to turn her head to look behind her and let out a shout before her and her dates energy is stolen and the collapse to the floor.
Eiru appears in front of Amanju. "Okay, I don't care from whom anymore. Just steal energy from humans! Got that, Amanju?"
"Aman!" She calls out before she jumps about before jumping into the pond. She grabs hold of two ducks and takes their energy.
Blue energy surround Eiru. "What are you doing?! I don't need bird energy!" He scolds angrily. "Humans! From humans!"
"That's enough!" Ami calls out.
Minako points at him. "Not satisfied with just sneak attacks at morning and at night?!"
Rei holds her hands out in front of her, entwined together. "Not just once, but twice! You have some nerve!"
"You won't get away with ruining the birds' peaceful day!" Makoto adds.
"We will bring you to justice!" Ami comments.
"In the name of Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia, we will punish you!" They call out at the same time.
Eiru lets out a laugh as he moves to hover in front of them. "So, you're here, sailor senshi! But it won't be so easy this time! Get them, Amanju!"
"Aman!" She jumps from the water. She lands on Eiru's head again pushing him forward.
The girls let out a gasp of surprise as Eiru turns to look behind him annoyed with a fist clenched. "Shoot! It did it again!" He disappears.
"Oh, it ran away," Rei says surprised.
"Does this mean we won?" Minako questions.
~~~With Usagi~~~
Usagi sits up and lets out a happy laugh. "One more question and I'll be finished!" She turns to look at An. "How about you? Natsumi-san, are you almost finished?"
An is sitting at her desk with her hand resting under her chin. "Yes, well, I think I'll manage to finish."
"Okay, I'm not going to lose though!" Usagi says happily before she gets back to work.
Tsukino Usagi, she's certainly worthy of being my mortal enemy. It's impressive that she hasn't lowered her guard against me.
Usagi gets out of her seat and appears in front of An's face. "Natsumi-san, are you okay? You look pale. And you haven't solved any problems at all."
An lowers her hands. "Oh, nothing to worry about. I'm just a little tired."
Usagi lets out a laugh as she stands up. "Is there anything I can do for you?" Usagi leans down with a smile on her face. "Well, I know I'm going to win. So, I'm willing to help you in any way I can!"
This sounds similar to that Earth fable I've heard before. About a hare and a tortoise racing. If I recall, that story had a similar turn of events. An ponders.
"Is something wrong?" Usagi questions.
An looks up at her. "Well, maybe I should ask for your help."
"Okay." Usagi agrees before holding up a finger. "But you can't ask me something like, 'solve these problems."
"It's nothing like that." An denies. "Instead, would you just close your eyes for ten seconds and stay still?"
Usagi lowers her hand. "Oh, that's easy! For just ten seconds? All right." She sits on the seat to the side of An and closes her eyes.
"Thank you." An gets up. Red energy surrounds her hands before covering her whole body as she turns into her true form. "Tsukino-san, please sleep eternally." She places a finger against Usagi causing her to glow red as her energy begins to be drained.
"I feel sort of weird," Usagi admits.
An chuckles in her mind but is snapped out of it when the classroom door is banged open. "Aman!"
Usagi opens her eyes. "Gag! What is that?!"
The Cardian jumps through the window smashing it as she lands on the ground. "Aman!"
Usagi rushes over to the window and looks outside. That was a Cardian.
Eiru appears next to An causing her to look up at him. "Eiru…" She covers her mouth.
A link appears between the two of them as they speak in their minds. The Cardian is not following my orders!
An appears in her true form once more. That's impossible.
Then, come with me! Eiru says before the pair of them disappear.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
I sense that Usagi is in trouble. I put my book back in my bag before standing up. I look to see that it is dark outside. "I'm sorry, Mamoru. But I need to go meet up with Usagi."
I turn to go to the door when Mamoru grabs a hold of my hand. He pecks me on the lips before letting my hand go. I touch my lip in a daze before I snap out of it and leave the arcade. I go into an alleyway before disillusioning myself and apparate back to the school.
I land in the classroom where Usagi is. She is looking out the window. I release the charm and walk up to her. Usagi gives a start. "Nee-chan!"
We both look out the window to see the Cardian along with the girls. "You can't get away from us now! Fire Soul!" Rei calls out.
The Cardian jumps out of the way.
"Supreme Thunder!" Mako-chan calls out and it catches the Cardian on the leg.
"Crescent Beam Shower!" Minako-chan calls out.
"Bubble Spray Freezing!" Ami-chan calls out.
"Aman!" The Cardian runs past them.
"Go for it, everyone!" Usagi cheers.
"Why don't you stop cheering and transform, too?" Luna says from behind us.
"Luna! Oh, where's Natsumi-san?" Usagi questions as she looks around.
"I don't know. Now, hurry!" Luna orders.
"Leave it to me!" Usagi says happily.
"Moon Crystal Power Makeup!" We both call out at the same time.
We both jump out the window, Luna on Usagi's shoulder. "Sorry for making you wait, everyone!"
"You're late!" Rei scolds.
"Calm down, Rei-chan. I'll finish it off, so forgive me, okay?" Usagi comments.
"Aman!" The Cardian calls out.
Usagi staggers to the side and her arms drop slightly. "Oh, something's wrong. I don't have any power."
"What's wrong, Sailor Moon?!" Luna asks.
"I wonder if I studied too much." Usagi ponders.
"Aman!" Usagi is grabbed by her throat. A white rose embeds itself in the floor but not before cutting the Cardian's arm. I lean down and place the flower in my pocket space.
"An evil creature belongs in an evil world. Leave this beautiful moonlight at once!" Mamo-chan comments.
"Moonlight Knight-sama!/ Moonlight Knight!" We all cheer.
"Come! Now is the time, Sailor Moon! Sailor Celestia!" Mamo-chan orders.
"Yes!" Usagi agrees.
"Moon Princess Halation!" Usagi and I call out at the same time.
It turns back into a card that releases smoke and fades to black. "We did it!" Usagi and the girls cheer causing me to giggle.
"Even a crescent moon is no match for beautiful senshi. Adieu!" He turns around and disappears.
"Now, I have to get back to the classroom. Otherwise, Natsumi-san will suspect something." Usagi says happily before walking back inside.
I follow after her and wait outside the classroom for Usagi to finish. It isn't long before I hear Usagi cheering. "I did it! I finished!"
"Really?" Natsumi questions.
"Oh? Natsumi-san, when did you…" Usagi trails off confused.
"I just finished, too." Natsumi states. "Once I started working seriously, this was nothing."
Mako-chan and Ami-chan walk over and they open the classroom door. "Come on, Usagi-chan, let's go home!"
"I know you worked hard!" Ami-chan praises.
Usagi turns to look at us. "Oh, thanks!" She looks at Natsumi. "Well, Natsumi-san, I think we're even this time!"
"I guess so." Natsumi agrees.
"All right! Bye!" Usagi says happily before running towards us and we all leave the school and we head home.
Before I head to bed I open my pocket space. I take out all of the white roses and place them with the bouquet of them I also notice that in my pocket space I still have my star locket and my moon stick.
Usagi doesn't seem to have her moon stick anymore. Though her star locket is inside her draw. I place them back in my pocket space before falling asleep. Today was tiring.
