Chapter 21 : Fubuki's Invitation
It's been several days since the leader of Senryuu-dou took a visit in her house.
The current date is Wednesday, July 21.
Ayumi's daily routine increases somewhat but she was fine with that because she likes her live-in friend.
Fubuki seems to have become engrossed by her computer so Ayumi can rarely talk to her. They can only talk to each other when eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with Fubuki mostly talking about some of her impressions on what she is playing, which is Kanmusu Collection most of the time.
But even with that much conversation, Ayumi is happy. She didn't get to talk this much to another person in her past life. So even without her noticing it, she was getting comfortable with this kind of life.
As for any chores in the house, Ayumi took care of all of it. She can't imagine making Fubuki help her after all. She was shy to ask the white fox to do so.
And she was beyond human and have a god tier skill for house chores so she can easily do everything in the house by her lonesome.
Fubuki is behaved when she was cleaning, mostly when she cleans Fubuki's room. Ayumi always makes sure that the house was always clean since she got the House Chore skill.
Be today, while she was cleaning Fubuki's room...
"Ayumi, can we play together?" That's what she asks while she was sitting on her bed.
She was waiting for Ayumi to finish cleaning her room before she can use her computer. Cleanliness was important after all.
Ayumi was surprised that she stops moving.
'Did I hear that right!?' She thought with a baffled look.
She slowly looks at Fubuki who was tilting her head in her way, her ears twitching a bit as she did so.
'Cute...' Ayumi blushed at that sight before she quickly took her mind off of it. "Uh... yes..." She answered while feeling both nervous and excited.
Fubuki's eyes lit up when Ayumi accepted her offer.
"Great. I was looking for someone to play with. It seems like we can play this game in co-op mode." Fubuki said with her tails moving left and right in a slow pattern.
'Ah, she is excited. I shouldn't disappoint her' She thought with determination. "So what are we playing, Fubuki-chan?" She asks in curiosity.
"There is a game called Keep Silent that I found on Gears. I was scared playing alone so I want someone to play with. I also want to play it at night." She said before frowning. "Is that okay to you?"
"Of course it is!" Ayumi quickly answers with a surprising vigor.
"Yay!~" Fubuki gave her a bright smile when she heard her reply.
'Too cute!' Ayumi thought as she tried to avert her gaze at Fubuki's bright smile. 'But wait, what is Keep Silent?' She thought in confusion as she continued cleaning Fubuki's room.
By the way, Fubuki and Ayumi now referred to themselves in their first names. This is more on Fubuki's initiative than Ayumi. She said that she doesn't like being too formal with her, and she also felt somewhat distant when speaking with her in a polite tone so she said to call her in her first name. Ayumi also reciprocates in turn, and now they are friends.
After awhile, she goes to the other part of the house to clean it with a quick precision. Then she goes to the bathroom to wash herself. After that, she cook some early lunch before calling Fubuki to eat.
While doing all of that, she was browsing the internet using her new smartphone that she got on a Golden Chest. It was a Smartphone A, the same one as Fubuki holds.
What she was searching for is the game that Fubuki wants her to play, Keep Silent.
'Eh!? It's a horror game!?' Ayumi blanched as she saw the genre of the game and the terrifying graphics of it.
It was simply too realistic, with an enemy that seems to look like some sort of mix between a lamprey, an octopus, and a moving humanoid flesh.
Ayumi was not a fan of Horror Games. In fact, she hates the genre.
She remembers playing Corpse Party in her past life. Though it wasn't scary for people who played horror games, for her Corpse Party is already scary enough. She only played the first installment, forgoing the other continuation of it's series due to how scared she became even with the pixelated graphics.
After that, she hate anything that have to do with horror. She don't have experience with it and she swear to never play any horror game in her past life.
Ayumi was thinking of refusing Fubuki's proposal now when Fubuki came down the stairs with a hop in her steps. As she sits in the chair, she was looking at Ayumi with a bright smile.
"I can't wait till we get to the night time. It will be fun!~" She said with her eyes shining.
Ayumi's refusal was thrown in the deep gutters of her mind as she looks at Fubuki's excitement.
'... I am doomed aren't I?' She thought while crying inside her mind.
She doesn't want to turn that bright smile into a depress mood, Ayumi will hate herself more if she did that to someone she looks up to.
So she passed the meal while speaking with Fubuki about the game.
According to Fubuki, she discovered the game when she became tired of playing the same game in ten consecutive days. So she roam the YouTube and saw that it was currently trending for Youtubers to play.
Keep Silent is a Survival/Horror escape game where one or up to eight players must escape on the map that the host chooses. There are one or two Abominations or monsters who are lurking in the grounds that they step into. Players will appear in different locations at the start of the game, though they are pretty near at each other.
To escape, they need to finish the puzzles surrounding the stage where they are located before they can move on.
The main gimmick of the game is that it was equipped with voice recognition. Basically, they can talk and the game will recognize that as a player's action.
Enemies will come near the sound of any noise, even the noise of their footsteps. They also shouldn't talk or they would be discovered by the monster.
As for the voice recognition program, players can talk to each other using their microphones or any voice recognition device they have. Wherever they are, they will be heard by the players and the enemies.
But there are times in the game where players need to talk to each other. There is no chat function so they would be force to do so.
There are also no background music when the game started, which added to the already creepy vibes of the story.
When a player was caught by an abomination, the player will see it's close up face before they were ripped to pieces by that monster. With the final animation being random. The most usual death animation is the abomination opening it's lamprey like mouth full of sharp and jagged teeth's all over until it's throat and closing in on the whole screen, indicating that the player's head was eaten.
Ayumi was dreading for the night time to arrive as she heard how terrifying is Keep Silent.
'Maybe I should learn a new skill. An ability that makes me better at Horror Games?' She thought to herself. 'It would be cheating but... I don't want to die of heart attack!' She continued with her thoughts while feeling like crying inside her heart.
With that decision, she finally decided to buy a new ability for herself.

'I can also pick a skill that makes me resistant to fear but...' Ayumi halted her thoughts at that as she shakes her head. 'No, that would be bad if I do that.' She thought and decided to not buy any forms of ability that will suppressed her emotions.
It would be bad if she doesn't feel scared anymore. It's like she won't be a human.
She is still fond of her emotions. Even if she knows that she is heavily flawed with full of timidity and cowardly, she doesn't want to erase that trait of her.
She even manage to predict what would happen if she ever do that. She'll become apathetic to some others, not understanding what other feels when she herself can't feel it. She might even do something irreversible and think of it as normal if she lost one part of her emotions.
So she decided to ban everything that will make her resist emotional impacts. It was important for her as a human.
So she decided to be very quick on the game. She will still play with Fubuki and she will make sure that she will finish it without encountering any scary events in the game.
'I hope this works' She thought to herself as she continued eating her meal while Fubuki says more about the game's features.

After reading all of their comments, she finally decided to announce her plans for tonight.
"So, I have an announcement to make." She said and see that some are still chatting on her HC. "I will be streaming again on 7 PM in Japanese Standard Timezone. I will be playing with a friend because she invited and I think it would be good to also stream our gameplay."
This is what she decided. She wanted to stream her gameplay about horror games.
She has been focused on FPS games lately and it seems like her view count increase is slowly declining. She needs to do something new before her view count stagnated.
Well, she doesn't really care about the many views. What she wants is to acquire more fans or finish some sort of hidden objectives to acquire more abilities and status. This is to ensure that she was strong enough when something supernatural happened in her vicinity.
Also, she will be exposing Fubuki into the internet. Not as a YouTuber, but in a virtual avatar. Specifically, an avatar of her.
It might look useless if she was just going to use Fubuki's real appearance. What's the point of using a virtual avatar then?
But she was doing this so when people see her in the stream, they will think she was playing a role instead of thinking it was really her.
As far as Ayumi knows, the world of supernatural is a total unknown in the public. She already search all over the internet, even go to some dangerous sites just to see if something is leaking there. But she doesn't see anything.
So it was safe to say that the people from the supernatural side was seriously hiding themselves to the public.
And because Vtubers are a common thing in this world, so even if a person from the Other Side see Fubuki in her virtual persona, they won't even think she was the real deal. If they think she was a real fox girl, there should also be report of Vtubers missing or having something weird happening to them because most Vtubers in this world uses a character that was outright fictional, race and all.
So Ayumi predicted that Fubuki won't become targeted by any supernatural factions somewhere even if she shows herself as a Vtuber.
And Ayumi was growing excited thinking about doing a collab with her. It will also work as an introduction for her so when Fubuki decided to become a Vtuber, she will already have a presence by the name of the stream that she will be doing tonight.

As expected, the people from the comments was asking who is her friend or are just excited for a promised second stream tonight.
"Well, her name is Fubuki-san. I hope you also welcome her warmly when I started the stream tonight." She said with a bow of her head.
Her comment section gave their affirmatives while some are just saying whatever or reacting to some of the comments in her HC.
"Now then, I'll play PUBF in solo mode. I will be playing on the largest map once again. Wish me luck!" She said and then go to her Gears account to open the PUBF game.
Her HC is still curious who is her friend and was also excited about her next stream tonight.
After she was done with her first stream, Ayumi quickly goes out to her room and then go to Fubuki's room. She knocks on her door and after hearing her the confirmation to enter, she opens the door and enters it.
"Oh, what is it Ayumi?" Fubuki asks with a tilt of her head.
She was currently playing Kanmusu Collection. Currently she was in the middle of an engagement. A PvE engagement.
"Uhmm... I just said on my stream that I will be playing a game with you and I will be streaming it. I also introduced you to the viewers." She said while feeling somewhat ashamed that she did that without consulting Fubuki first.
"Hmm... so?" But it seems like Fubuki doesn't see anything wrong with it.
"I have a favor to ask you." Finally, Ayumi said after gathering some confidence to herself. Seeing Fubuki waiting for her, she continues. "Would you like to stream with me with a virtual avatar?" She asks with a shy tone.
Ayumi was hoping that she accepts. Though she was still negative about herself so she was also anticipating that she will refuse her.
Which didn't happen. Fubuki's eyes lit up as she heard Ayumi's favor.
"I will become a Vtuber!? I'll do it!" She quickly agrees to do it.
"Eh? Are you sure?" Ayumi was too shocked that she can only utter that in confusion as she heard Fubuki's positive reply.
"Yes. It will be nice to converse with the other people." She said to her in a casual tone. "But what about my model?" She was curious about that as she asks Ayumi.
"Oh. The model?" Ayumi unconsciously muttered. "I will be doing that. It's up to you what kind of design do you like." Ayumi said while still feeling somewhat shy.
"Wow! You can also do the modeling?" Fubuki was excited when she heard Ayumi say that.
"Yes. I am the one who modeled my own virtual avatar."
"Your a Vtuber too!?"
"You don't know?" Ayumi was shocked when she heard Fubuki like that.
"Well... I thought you are just a normal YouTuber. I only got a glance of you streaming when I peek into your room..." Fubuki said while scratching the back of her head. Her ears moving a bit in tandem with her scratching.
"... I see" Ayumi muttered to herself.
She thought Fubuki already knows she was a Vtuber. It seems like she was thinking that she was a regular YouTuber.
"Uhmm... who are you as a Vtuber?" Fubuki asks curiously.
"Ah, I am Sakaguchi Kotomi in that site. The one known as the forever 17 highschool girl!" Ayumi felt like doing a pose as she said the latter sentence.
Fubuki just stared at her for awhile before she said. "I don't know who is that."
Ayumi felt like something crack inside her as she heard Fubuki's casual answer.
'She didn't know my alter persona... so I am still not that popular...' Ayumi became depressed. 'Well, of course she wouldn't. Who am I kidding, I am just an unpopular person who cheated with my powers so I can become a pro gamer. Nothing special at all' She thought in self-depreciation.
It seems like Fubuki notices her feeling down because she panics.
"Ah! Calm down! I don't mean it like that. I mean, it's amazing that my friend is a Vtuber!" She said while her arms are flailing around in a panic.
Ayumi's depressing atmosphere was suddenly sucked out of her as she heard the word "Friend" in Fubuki's mouth.
"... Oh right, I am your friend." Ayumi said, feeling somewhat calm now after hearing that word.
"Yes, I am glad to have you as my friend. So please don't get discourage like that. I promise I won't forget about your Vtuber persona." Fubuki said, still trying to calm her down.
"No I am fine. Thanks for worrying about me."
"... I am glad."
The both of them smiled at each other for awhile. Then Fubuki suddenly hops in her steps to get in front of her.
"So... let's go!" Fubuki said as she holds Ayumi's hand.
Ayumi understood what Fubuki wanted so she just goes along with her. She sits on the chair and face the computer that Fubuki owns.
"About the game, I already win that engagement so just click here and then there, it's done." Fubuki said as she took the mouse and click the bombardment button to destroy her enemies. "You can just minimize it and do your thing." Fubuki said as she stands besides her with excitement.
"Yes... well then, I'll be making a virtual avatar for you. Also, I will make an account of Youtube for you. So what do you like?"
After that, they discussed what she wants for her avatar and also the name of her channel.
Ayumi also gave her the suggestion of using her real appearance as her avatar on YouTube, which she readily agrees.
It seems like Fubuki learned that she was a special case, different than anyone else. She realizes that Ayumi wasn't the weird one at all. She learned that she was the only person in this world to have a fox tail and a pair of fox ears when she was exposed to the internet.
But she also wants to converse with the others with her own persona. So she wants to use herself as a model.
Ayumi was glad that somehow, her ideal and Fubuki's idea was the same. Now she can use Fubuki's real appearance without changing anything else.
As for the clothes, Ayumi let Fubuki decide about the design and it seems like she gave a detailed description of what she wants to look like.
As the model was slowly being completed, Ayumi was becoming shocked at what she is seeing.
'Isn't this her first model in my past life?' Ayumi thought in surprised.
Fubuki was just amazed at Ayumi as she looks at her quickly making a 2D Model of her.
Yes, Ayumi decided to make a 2D Model instead of a 3D.
Even if this is Shirakami Fubuki, this is also the version of Fubuki who doesn't have any experience with streaming. So she wants her to get used to using her expression on the viewers before she makes a high definition 3D model for her.
Of course Ayumi was already planning to make a 3D model for her. For now, Fubuki needs to be used to using her 2D avatar first.
Even Ayumi started on 2D model, before she moves with a 3D model when she improves her style.
Anyway, as for her channel, Fubuki decided to name it as フブキ ch. 白上フブキ.
Which is once again surprised Ayumi.
'... Maybe this is all just a really convenient coincidence?' Ayumi thought to herself before trying to put that out of her mind.
Finally, she was done making her 2D Model.
Unlike Fubuki's first model in Ayumi's past life though, this one already have a wide array of expressions and movements. With most of the particles like the shadow, the clothing, and the hair is moving along with her, just like how they should move in reality.
As for her Chirper account, Ayumi also took care of making an account for her. The username that Fubuki chose is her real name, Shirakami Fubuki.
It took two hours before they are done with setting up all of that.
"This is amazing!" Fubuki exclaimed as she took a sit on her chair and look at her new avatar.
Using just the camera installed besides her monitor, it can easily recognized her body movements and because of Ayumi's impossible programming skill, the virtual version of Fubuki was also moving along with her.
Ayumi is glad that Fubuki is satisfied with everything she did. She felt somewhat proud that she manage to make the white fox happy.
"Well then, you can do your introduction video. If you want help, I will be willing to be your coordinator." Ayumi offered casually.
"Really, you can also do that!" Fubuki got close to Ayumi's personal space. "Your the best!~" She said happily as she hugs her.
"Uwaaah!?" Ayumi was surprised at the sudden close contact.
She doesn't know what to do other than be frozen in her spot. Due to her short stature, she was being smothered by her body. But Ayumi is too shocked to even notice that.
"Really, thank you very much!" Fubuki said as she moves away from her and then moves back to her seat.
Ayumi already gave Fubuki the tutorial about how to start a stream and some other tools to change perspectives and other things.
Seeing that she was going to start her introduction video, Ayumi quickly moves to her room to connect her computer to her and then use her Vtuber Streaming App to coordinate with Fubuki's stream.
By the way, this is normally what's done for any Vtubers. They can't really do everything alone. Unless they don't need any special effects on their background and general streaming. Ayumi was clearly an abnormality to make a lot of special effects and coordinate a lot of things by herself.
Things like putting captions, showing HC on her side, using BGMs, and even other minor stuffs are done by her lonesome. It can't be done by a real solo Vtuber.
A Vtuber will have a secret team behind them who will take care of the scene, the effects, and even the sounds.
And Fubuki understands it. So she was glad that Ayumi was helping her with that.
While Ayumi was coordinating with her introduction video, she was thinking of this very topic.
'Right, someone needs to take care of anything so her streams will become lively. She doesn't have any dedicated teams for her to do that, and I also have my own streams!' She pondered for awhile. 'Ah right, I have that!' She recalled something that she got on the many chests that she acquired several days ago. 'If I use that, I can take care of coordination while also doing my own streams.' She thought and felt relieved that Fubuki's stream won't fail in the future just because she was alone.
Only her will think like that due to her feeling somewhat inadequate to any others but a normal person will turn blue in the face if they are asks to coordinate everything to another Vtuber while also taking care of their own Vtuber career. It needs an intense concentration and the capability to multitask and also they need to somehow do it at the same time like it was all natural.
That was impossible. No human, even if they have magic, can do that.
'I am glad that I'll get to collab with Shirakami Fubuki.' Ayumi thought with a smile before she became pale. 'But my first collab with her will be a horror game. I hope I can finish it peacefully.' Ayumi thought while dreading the coming of the night.
She passes the time busily coordinating with her and also thinking of a lot of things to quickly win a survival horror game with Fubuki.

So anyway, you can see that Ayumi was upgrading her abilities and status as time passes. She was serious about getting stronger again because she thinks she is still weaker than the people who are part of the Other Side.
She thinks that Senryuu-dou is just a minor faction from the Other Side, which is utterly wrong.
