Chapter 24 : Notice Of Affiliation
In a certain place in Kyoto, a lone shrine full of cherry blossom trees stands there. It was a shrine that anyone seeing it will feel how old it is by just it's appearance alone.
Inside it's walls is a teenage shrine maiden with a pink hair, sitting on the balcony of her shrine with a laptop on her lap.
Though it broke the image of a traditional shrine maiden. For her, this is just a daily routine.
She has been doing this since she became the sole owner of this shrine.
She is just a minor part of the Other Side, unknown to them. And she doesn't care even if she have the knowledge of the Other Side.
Though recently she was pretty depressed when she got a report that the whole clan of her friend were wiped out. She wants to do something about it but she can't really deal with it when she learned that it was one of the seven strongest supernatural factions of Japan who did that. She can only give up and do a continuous prayer for the deceased clan.
She was depressed... until she saw a stream yesterday night.
She was just browsing the internet as usual on her free time whenever she was done with her daily prayers and solo rituals. But when she was looking for something new on YouTube, she found a familiar name on the stream.
Specifically, she finds the stream of Shirakami Fubuki.
It was the name of her friend who became missing after her clan was wiped out. She doesn't know what happened to her after that.
"I didn't expect that she will turn into a Vtuber." That is what she muttered to herself as she looks at the cheerful girl on her laptop.
Then she watches the stream in full. At the same time, she also made a tab to watch the stream of the one she is doing a collab. The name of the person she was collaborating with is Sakaguchi Kotomi. It seems like Kotomi is known as a godly FPS player who can defeat even the likes of Yanjiro.
As she got to farther on their stream, this shrine maiden became more convinced about the Vtuber names Fubuki.
"This is not her!" She said madly.
The Fubuki she knows is not this shy yet calm Vtuber that she is watching.
The Fubuki that she knows is a black haired girl who was friendly but was very devoted to her family's tradition. Seeing someone who uses the same name as her and not even doing her personality right irked her to no end.
But she still finishes the stream because she got interested at the two of them.
When it ended, this pink haired shrine maiden tried to forget about this. She doesn't want to recall someone she thinks she won't ever meet again.
But her thoughts kept coming back to that stream and the name of the white fox Vtuber.
"... Is that a coincidence?" She muttered to no one.
The Vtuber called Shirakami Fubuki lingered on her mind that she wants to watch her again. It might be because she missed her friend or it might because she got interested in the stream.
Regardless, she pointed her interest on Fubuki. As for Kotomi, she thinks she will watch her next because she is also somewhat interested on the girl known as the FPS Goddess.
"Nya... I'll look into this virtual fox girl for awhile." That was what the pink haired shrine maiden said as she looks watches Fubuki streaming today.
She wants to make sure why she is so interested on the female Vtuber Fubuki, the one who is using the same name as her missing friend. So she decided to look into her streams for awhile.
Ayumi was just finishing on the house chores when she heard Fubuki on her room.
'She is streaming already?' She thought in surprise.
She was thinking that Fubuki will call her again to take care of the effects and captions for her stream. It seems like Fubuki wasn't thinking like that at all. She seems to stream much earlier.
"... Well, I'll quickly finish what I am doing for now." She said before going to wash herself.
After awhile, she got out with a new set of clothes for herself. It is still clothes that covered her body mostly.
She goes to the kitchen to cook some meal for the two of them.
While she is doing that, she heard Fubuki telling her viewers that she will stream once again later. It seems like she was doing a Wake Up stream, which seems to confuse Ayumi.
'What is a Wake Up Stream?' She thought to herself in confusion.
Though it wasn't really a routine for Solo Vtubers. In this world, Vtubers with affiliations are required to always interact with their viewers. One of the ways to do that is to make a scheduled stream solely for that. Late Night Streams and Wake Up Streams are two known ways from not just Vtubers, but even YouTubers to greet their fans or even make an early or late content for their viewers. Most of the time, Wake Up Streams are just Q&A on the streamer's side while Late Night Streams are focused on their activities.
Ayumi doesn't do this on her stream not just because she doesn't know it, but because she thinks streaming once everyday is already enough.
Even Vtubers, even without doing these routine, still make a stream solely for interacting with their viewers.
Ayumi focuses solely on her hobbies.
She interacts with her fans but that's during her gameplay as always. She doesn't have any stream that solely focuses on Q&A or even just talking to her viewers. It's all about her gameplay or artistic skills.
Ayumi thinks it wasn't wrong because she doesn't watches much Vtubers on her past life. The only clips she can only recall are Vtubers playing games. So she was basing her actions on streams from what she recalls in her past life.
She heard Fubuki walking down the stairs and coming to the dining room. When she arrives, she quickly goes to the seat as she waits for the food to be ready.
This is already a routine for the two of them. Though it might be embarrassing for Fubuki, she doesn't know if she can help Ayumi on anything with the house due to not remembering much on her life as a human. Also, she doesn't want to bother Ayumi too much so she was letting Ayumi do things in her own pace.
Which for Ayumi, it seems to be natural. She can't imagine Fubuki working for her. In her mind, that doesn't how it works.
And Ayumi likes what she is doing since she got the Cooking God and House Chores God ability. She felt relaxed everytime she does those things, unlike when she doesn't have these abilities, she always sees cleaning or even doing any arranging of her room as tiresome and bothersome.
So her abilities were having some positive effects on her overall lifestyle.
"Okay, wait for a moment. This will be done soon." Ayumi said to the waiting fox girl as she moves the frying pan in a chef-like fashion.
And she was doing many things at the same time. Thanks to her Psychokinesis, she can easily do many things with just a bit of her focus. It was much easier for her due to her Multitasking.
"Un!" Fubuki nodded to her words before she recalled something she wants to tell her. "I just recalled, I ordered a lot of green tea juices and Yukimi Daifuku awhile ago. I think the delivery will arrive this morning." Fubuki informed her.
"... Okay, I'll take care of it." Ayumi replied as she recalls Fubuki's likes.
She have watched some of Fubuki's streams in her past life and she just recalled that on some of her streams, she seems to like green tea juices. She recalled hearing her sipping on something and opening some cups of green tea juices. And it was known that she was drinking it during her stream because she was the one who said it so.
'It seems like the Fubuki in this world was the same as the one I recall on my past life.' Ayumi thought in her mind. 'Though, there are also many differences in her than the one I know in my past life.' She continued in her thoughts.
As Ayumi said, there are also many things different from the Fubuki that she was now friends with and the Fubuki that she knows only on YouTube. For one, she was supposed to be living with her grandfather in a certain mountain near the forest of elves. In this world, she was living as a human with a tradition of safekeeping a pendant that holds the Arctic Fox inside it.
'... Maybe the others are also different than the one I know.' Ayumi pondered to herself as she did some finishing touches to the many food that she cooks.
And then she telepathically moves every utensils to the table. Fubuki wasn't surprised at what she can do.
Fubuki thinks that it was normal for the person who was taking care of her. She was a real fox girl in a world full of normal people. Her caretaker should also be someone who was incredible. It's her reasoning for not being surprised for Ayumi having powers.
"Now then..." Ayumi started as she took a sit on the opposite side of Fubuki. "Itadakimasu!"
"Itadakimasu!" Fubuki also followed in her lead.
Then the both of them started their meal.
"You still make a lot of food for the two of us!" Fubuki said in amazement as she took some shrimps on one of the plates.
"I think this was fine. I mean, I can eat all of this alone." Ayumi replied unconsciously as she put a lot of meat and vegetables in her bowl of rice.
"... You'll get fat if you eat too much."
When she heard Fubuki says that on her way, her body became rigid.
'Fat... Oh my God!'
It was one of Ayumi's fear, being fat.
Well, it was one of the things feared by the majority of the women. But Ayumi feared it in her whole being.
She still recalls how she was insulted in her past life just because of her constitution which is easily gaining fat and smelling foul.
Though her current body seems to be pretty normal, being fat is still not in the realms of impossibility.
Or it wasn't in Ayumi's mind.
The truth is, it would be impossible to make herself become fat unless an anomalous phenomena happens to her body. She have a Physique and Fitness that makes it so that her body was more than perfect, much more beyond than what a human can achieve. Her metabolism is also ridiculously high, which means she also needs to eat literal tons of food before she felt fulfilled.
Still, the damage can't be undone. Ayumi's hands that was quickly putting food on her bowl became much slower, like she was timid of even touching the food.
"... Sorry, I'll cook less tomorrow..." Ayumi muttered in shame.
"Uwaaah! I didn't mean it like that! You don't have to worry about that!" Fubuki, sensing Ayumi's change in behaviour, quickly saw something wrong and tried to calm her down.
In the end, she somehow managed to make Ayumi recover, though she will be eating less starting on this day.
After eating her fill, Fubuki came back to her room to make another stream. Ayumi was also just done and she was now cleaning the dishes on the sink when she heard the doorbell being ringed.
"Coming!" She shouted as she put the plates she was cleaning besides the sink before taking off her apron and wiping her hands on the towel she put there.
She go to the living room first and took the hoodie that was just put on a hanging rack on the corner of the wall. She put that there so she can wear it quickly when she was going out.
Then she goes to the entrance door and opens it. Beyond there, she saw her gate. There is a guy beyond the gate, with a delivery van of some company parked just besides him.
"Hello, do you know someone by the name of Fubuki?" The delivery guy asks.
"Yes, she was living in this house." Ayumi quickly replied while lowering her head a little so the person on the other side of the gate can't see her face.
"Great. Can you please check if these are the items the recipient ordered." The guy asks as he gestured for her to come near.
Ayumi walks near him and saw him handing her a small slip of paper. Looking at it, she saw that it was the list of items that Fubuki ordered.
"... Yes, this is it." Ayumi answered as she passed back the paper.
"Okay. Do you want some help putting it inside?"
"No, just put it besides the gate. I'll take care of it."
"Okay miss." The delivery guy said before moving on the back of the van.
Then he carried a box and put it besides the gate. He repeated doing that five times before telling her that it was done. Then he left after going back to his van.
While that is happening, Ayumi looks at the contents of the box inside before looking around her. When she saw that no one seems to be looking in her way, she uses her Psychokinesis to move all five boxes inside her house.
"Matcha Flavor and Kale... she have good taste." Ayumi muttered to herself as she recalls the brands of green tea juices that she saw inside it.
After arranging all the bottles in the refrigerator and also the Yukimi Daifuku's in the other refrigerators, she also go to Fubuki's room to tell her that.
Of course, she did it by just slipping a piece of paper below the door. She was sure Fubuki will took note of that because she have a much sharper ear than a regular human.
Along with that, she also put a bottle of green tea juice and a carton of Yukimi Daifuku below her door. She was sure that Fubuki wants to have some of it while she was streaming.
She doesn't want to interrupt her streaming and let her viewers know that she and Fubuki are living in the same house.
For Ayumi, she thinks it would be better if the viewers doesn't know they are living together. There is nothing really wrong of people knowing they are living together, she just doesn't want them to know she was along with her.
There is also a small reason of protecting Fubuki's anonymity if Ayumi's identity was somehow exposed to the public. If they found out that Fubuki was living together with her, those people who loves to expose everything will surely target Fubuki's identity next and it would be bad if they saw her current appearance.
Ayumi got to her streaming room and prepared her equipments to stream.

She pondered for a bit about this new factor.
'Am I allowed to join them? But it's only the system that was telling me that... am I forcing myself to their group if I accepted this?' She thought a bit more. 'But it seems like Fubuki wasn't a part of Hololive if it was really existing. If so, if I join, maybe Fubuki will get to join too!' Her thoughts ended in that note as she looks at the notice.
Then she picks Accept.

The group "Hololive" is not existing in this world. Do you want to be the founder of the group "Hololive"?

Ayumi can't help but scream in surprise as she looks at the prompt that was telling her that.
"Why should I make Hololive, I am not qualified!" Ayumi said in self-depreciation.
It was fine if she was just going to join. She will feel unwelcome but she thinks she can let Fubuki join there. Maybe most of the Hololive Members are even a part of the supernatural, so she was thinking of entrusting Fubuki to them. As for her, she thinks that she will leave if she felt she was burdening the team too much.
But now, it was revealed that it wasn't really existing at all. She was being asks to be the founder of a group that made waves in her former world.
She felt underserved of that role.
She also doesn't know how her cheat power can just decide the creation of a Vtuber group. It was impossible for her to comprehend.
"I should just reject it." Ayumi said to herself as she moves her hands to the Reject button.
But she felt that she will be doing something irreversible if she did that.
'Why am I hesitating. It's fine to just reject it and forget about this thing right?' Ayumi thought to herself. 'But... that also means Fubuki being in my care forever...' Then her mind comes to the thought of her white fox friend.
Though Fubuki seems to be satisfied for now, Ayumi thinks it would be bad if she lives like that for a long time. Ayumi doesn't want Fubuki to be like her, someone who just shuts herself in a room.
Though they have a different reason for not going out. Ayumi is traumatised due to her long time bullying. Fubuki can't go out because she might be targeted by some people from the supernatural side of this world.
The only one who can become her friend without them freaking out because of her identity, is the people who are the same as her.
'Right... maybe instead of the system forcing the formation of Hololive, it might guide me to build the group itself.' Ayumi thought to herself as she recalls her system's activity.
Most of the time, her cheat ability always gives her an objective that have something to do on streaming. Gather views, gather fans, gather subscribers. There are also the hidden objectives that involves being featured in some people's video or being mentioned on some forums.
All of those objectives are a guide for her to become better. If she doesn't have those objectives, she might not even be doing any streaming at all.
It all started with her very first objective, which is to create her own virtual persona and creating her account on YouTube. The system was essentially forcing her to become a Vtuber.
After that, it became smooth sailing for her. There are some hiccups like the event on GOS when she played on the Alpha Server or her interrupted stream when two elite members of Senryuu-dou invaded her house, but everything became fine because her objectives kept giving her objectives that she can easily achieve.
It will always give an objective that was becoming harder and harder. Though it is still possible for her to finish it if she is just continuing her stream.
Basically, it was guiding her so she will stream. If she streams, she becomes popular. And she seems to be having some confidence to herself due to this.
So her cheat ability might also guide her to meeting up the other Hololive Members. It might give objectives or some incentives so she looks for them.
And if she finds them, Fubuki will have an acquaintance, or even a best friend.
For that reason alone, Ayumi's decision to reject it changes. She wants to accept it, just so Fubuki can have more friends.
