Chapter 30 : She Is Surprisingly Nearby
It is now autumn, and the leaves of the trees are colored red on these time.
The current date is August 16, 2035. Monday.
It's been a week since Ayumi finished her first ever Emergency Quest.
After the debacle with her hacked account, everything returned to normal. She got to stream once again... NOT!
When Ayumi got her account back, she immediately deleted every post on her Chirper that her impersonator made. Then she made a new post stating that every account she have are hacked and it wasn't her who made the post, starting on July 26.
No one believes her of course. They think she was just making a hollow excuse to somehow clear her name.
Which is what a normal person who doesn't know what is happening will think after all. They just saw someone who sounds like a drug addict and also was happily talking with filthy degenerates what they will do when they got to those lascivious actions. Then they will suddenly see her making an excuse that she was hacked, even though she just revealed her real appearance on the internet on the day she said she was hacked. It's totally impossible after all.
Well, people won't believe that even her webcam and some control of her computer was hacked at that time. They didn't know a thing about advanced hacking. They think it only happens on Animes, or Hollywood Movies.
So they bashed her. And she can't even make a comeback at their words because she knows that they also have the right to be suspicious of her.
She knows that most people these days are easily distrustful on the internet. Positive impressions can be easily shattered while negative impressions can stay forever.
People will always remember a person on their negative impressions of another, even if that was a total lie. Absolute proof will be needed so she can somehow clear her name for a bit.
And because most internet posts nowadays can easily fake videos and pictures due to the advancement of image editing and CGI technologies, so most people are skeptical of those "Absolute Evidence" that people on the internet will use. They only look at the negative one as the truth while the positive ones are gazed at with a critical gaze.
The one who can survive in this kind of controversy are those who have a solid foundation.
Just to give an example, Wakai Seijin is one.
When she gave her confessions about all her wrongdoings, most of her fans are heavily denying her words. They think she was being threatened or blackmailed to do those. They are even making a new group on Bluedit for Wakai Seijin just to support her.
Of course there are people who easily got angry at Wakai Seijin. Some of them are even fans of some Vtubers that Wakai Seijin confessed to have destroyed their lives. Others are skeptical to her, and even think that maybe someone from her management was doing it as a horrible prank.
Regardless, many of Wakai Seijin's fan are protecting her.
It's unlike Sakaguchi Kotomi who was only starting. Even with her ridiculous Charisma score, people will quickly hate her if she did something they did not like. Charisma can only get her so far after all.
But it's thanks to her Charisma score that there are still some loyal fans that she have. With one of them being someone known as Phantasmic.
Though she doesn't know why Phantasmic was absolutely sure that she was innocent. It felt like Phantasmic just knew, or Phantasmic have just that much faith in her.
There are also others like Misaka Phenex, Real Time Action, Haruka, etc.
But that's only a few of them. Most of her fans already jumped wagons to Fubuki's stream, which secretly made Fubuki feel guilty.
It was like she was stealing Kotomi's fans just because she was a "Good" Vtuber.
Well, Fubuki didn't become mad. She don't want to show some unpleasantness to her viewers when she was still starting at her career.
Anyway, Ayumi deleted her account on AVtuber that her impersonator created. Then she recreated her account on YouTube.
Though it seems like she was suspended by the YouTube Management to stream for three months because the management gave an excuse that she "Violated the rules" of that site. The time this three months started is on August 1. Her streaming suspension will be lifted on November 1.
She don't know what she violated. But she can guess that the management on YouTube from Japan are pretty biased on those suspected "Non-child friendly" users.
It's what she predicted anyway so she doesn't really trust what she is thinking about the matter.
Also, even when she was suspended from streaming, she can still upload videos on YouTube. Though all of it are demonetized until her suspension is lifted.
And she was just doing that. Uploading videos that she made after she was done playing games. Specifically, she is playing GOS and PUBF.
Many players doesn't like to play with her on any PVP due to having a negative impression of her. Some just doesn't want to because she was too good for them. There are also others who are outright hateful of her because they think she was playing on the weaker servers to "Bully the weak".
Even the uploaded videos that she made was heavily criticized by new viewers and also most of her old viewers, saying that she shouldn't even be coming back to being a Vtuber.
They are totally angry at her. It seems like most of them feel betrayed because her impersonator causes a grievous damage on their trust to her. It doesn't matter even when Wakai Seijin confessed, they are just angry at her.
'I wonder when can I clear my name.' Ayumi thought to herself.
She can also put a lot of defining evidence on the internet to show that she was truly an innocent person, but then there will be those who will question where she got it and how she got those evidence. Most of those evidence can easily be forged after all.
She can easily take their trust back using her Charisma and Talent but Ayumi currently doesn't have a lot of confidence to herself. This is another effect of what Wakai Seijin did to her. Her recovering self-confidence was utterly crushed once again.
Because she doesn't even feel confident to herself, so she can't even have the heart to use her status to their fullest.
And these days, she was even thinking of quitting the streaming business. If not for Fubuki and the threat of the supernatural world, she would have stop here and there.
Fubuki was the only one who was giving her the strength to continue with this painful endeavor. And so long as she became a Vtuber, she will acquire many benefits that will make her much stronger.
There are also those few loyal fans that she have, but they only gave some relief to her, which is overwhelmed by those who hates her.
'Well then, maybe I should stop with playing online games for now.' She thought to herself as she logs out on GOS.
Then, she browses the internet while at the same time, coordinating with Fubuki's stream.
Fubuki was currently streaming another Gacha game. It seems like she somehow discovered another game on her mobile phone that makes her pretty addicted these days. It was like Kanmusu Collection, but there are more characters in there than the former one. It was called Azur Line (obviously, it's Azur Lane's counterpart).
Other than that, she also learned about a game called Arclerics (Counterpart of Arknights in this world).
So Fubuki was totally busy in her own way.
Anyway, while Ayumi was coordinating with Fubuki's stream, she was also browsing the internet to search for more clues about the other Hololive Members.
Because she can't stream and she was always being bashed when she uploads a video on YouTube, so she decided to put most of her time on doing another thing. That is by doing her other objective.
'It's been a month already and I still didn't find a single one of them. There is no clues that I can get!' She thought to herself in shame.
She was trying to find the others so Fubuki can also interact with them. She doesn't want Fubuki to only have someone like her to interact with. And because of her lowering self-confidence, she felt that she was undeserving of Fubuki's attention.
'It's fine that she just notice me. What she needs is to be with the other amazing people.' Ayumi thought to herself in self-depreciation.
Ayumi doesn't know that Tokino Sora was Yubel. She didn't look into the names behind the members of Yubelverse. She only knows Wakai Seijin's true identity.
And Ayumi also doesn't have a lot of knowledge about the Hololive Members. In fact, she only know some of Fubuki's background because she recalls most of it on the comments on Fubuki's YouTube account in her past life.
Ayumi have an impossible memory capacity and she can recall most of it thanks to her Wisdom score.
But still, because she doesn't know much about the other Hololive Members so even if she sees some obvious references to their identity, she might not even be able to notice due to having no knowledge of it.
But she will still try. She have some knowledge so she was putting that on her search bar to have some clues about them.
"Let's see... Asacoco doesn't give any results. No results for Akirose. Then what about Pekora... nothing at all. Pirate cosplayer?" Ayumi searched it and once again she was disappointed. "Nah... not this kind of cosplayers..." She said to no one.
She inputted anything she didn't search that she recalled. Any references to them. Anything that will make her at least identify them.
She at least recalls all of their appearances so there is that.
"Wait... what if I search for their names?" She said to herself.
Then she enacted that plan immediately.
First, she looks for the first name, Tokino Sora.
It didn't give anything other than something about the sky or pictures of clocks.
"Ugh... nothing. Then..."
She first started with all the affiliated members, before moving into the others.
She didn't find anything at all. Even when she found some, it was all a duped.
Just like when she searched Oozora Subaru, it only gave her a result about some person from the Oozora Family who was the current coach of the Phoenix Force, which is a Japanese Gamer Team that focuses on GOS where Yanjiro is a part of.
That doesn't give any clues about the people she was looking for at all.
"... Ugh, and I thought their names would have helped in my search somehow..." She muttered to herself in disappointment.
Fubuki was just done on her stream at the same time Ayumi has given up searching for the others on this day.
"Well, I'll just search for them next time. Maybe I should really hack into the government-related files." Ayumi muttered to herself.
Then she stands up before shutting down her computer. She also arranges everything in her streaming room before leaving.
When she goes downstairs, she saw Fubuki who was just down there looking inside the refrigerator.
"Ah, there is no more sweets." She heard the fox girl mutter.
"... Is that so, I'll buy something then." Ayumi quickly took her smartphone out of her pocket as she says that.
"Oh Ayumi. And yes, thank you." Fubuki greeted her with a smile as she closes the refrigerator.
Ayumi then browses through the internet before going to the Online Shopping site. There, she ordered a lot of sweets and even some meat and vegetables because she was also running low on her stockpile.
After that, she goes to the living room where Fubuki was now located. The fox girl was sitting on a sofa and was playing with her smartphone.
Ayumi sits on the other side and picks up her smartphone to also pass the time. She doesn't want to interrupt Fubuki when she was so focused on her games.
"Oh right... can we have a collab when your suspension has been lifted?" It was Fubuki who initiated a conversation on her way with that kind of question.
"Hmm?" Ayumi quickly put her attention on Fubuki before making a thinking gesture. "I think it would be fine if you stream without me. I need to make sure that my name is cleared enough that it won't compromise you if I join you on your stream." Ayumi answered casually.
"Eh? But I wanted to play with you..." Fubuki can only whine in disappointment at that.
"Well... we can also play together even without streaming right?" Ayumi said unconsciously, seeing Fubuki become disappointed.
"... Right." Fubuki said though she is still sad. "But it would be better if we can stream together while playing." She muttered that to herself.
Which Ayumi heard but decided to ignore. She didn't even get why Fubuki wanted to play with her on her stream.
Though for Fubuki, she wanted to play with Ayumi (as Kotomi) on stream because she wanted to show her viewers how close she is to Kotomi. She doesn't like her friend being given such a harsh treatment to the action that she didn't even do.
"... Well, I am sorry if I can't play with you on your stream." Ayumi honestly apologizes to the bottom of her heart.
"... Well, it's fine. At least we can still play off stream." Fubuki said, bouncing back to her cheerfulness.
"Right." Ayumi smiled at her way.
Then the both of them decided to play a two player game on their mobile. It was just a simple zombie shooting game. They have a fun time while they are doing that.
Along their gameplay, Ayumi uses her Psychokinesis to cook some snacks on the kitchen before letting them float to this room. She can easily do that thanks to the combination of her Psychokinesis and Analysis.
Now there are freshly cooked potato chips, french fries, some homemade dips, and even tea juices and cola.
Ayumi really preferred cola, unlike Fubuki who prefers tea juices. For Ayumi, colas are one of the things that she took pleasure for alongside RPG games.
'This is the best drink after all!' Ayumi thought with an uncharacteristic proud expression on her mind.
"Wha! I am being surrounded!"
"Don't worry, I'll cover you!" Ayumi said as she quickly backs up Fubuki by raining bullets on the zombies.
Most of it are headshots even though she was using an SMG.
As they are busy playing their games, Ayumi heard the sound of a truck coming in front of her gate and then the sound of the doorbell being ring after some time passes.
"... Oh, it seems like the delivery is here." Ayumi muttered before looking at Fubuki.
"... Okay. We are near the save point anyway. Let's get in there and save the game."
"Okay, let's"
With that, the both of them go to the storage house on the game and then uses the bed there to save the game. Then Ayumi stands up.
"I'll be going outside for a bit. I'll be back quickly!"
Fubuki only nodded to her words as Ayumi turned her back and walk to the entrance door.
When she got there, she saw the delivery guy leaning on the side of the gate as he waits for her to come.
"Oh, hello miss. Can I see your parents?" The guy asks as he saw Ayumi comes out.
Ayumi didn't forget to put on her hoodie so they can't see her appearance.
It seems like due to Ayumi's petite frame so he thought she was just a kid. Well, she really is a kid.
But she was an independent girl so she can easily take care of this.
"No need. Me and my friend are the only ones living in this house." She simply said with a neutral tone.
Since the day she punishes Ikuryu Honda, Ayumi's speech patterns became neutral to the strangers. Ayumi doesn't know why this happened but everytime she talks to a stranger, she just defaults to a neutral tone of voice.
It makes her look like a calm and slightly creepy person to the others. It is just thanks to her Charisma that the other wasn't feeling unnerved at her attitude.
At least, she wasn't becoming shy of talking to strangers again.
"Is that so. Then, please confirm the delivery here." The guy simply said before showing her the list of items that he was carrying.
"Yes... it is all of this."
"Okay, then should I help you put it inside your house?"
"No, I can do it by myself."
"... Fine." The guy shrugs before going back to the truck and putting all the boxes of items that she ordered.
Essentially, she have a lot of things that she ordered. It was a stockpile for the whole month.
"Okay, put your signature here." The guy said as he gave her a receipt.
She took that and put her signature. Then she also put another signature on the next paper that the guy gave her. After that, he finally became satisfied before leaving with his truck.
That only leaves her and the boxes of meat, vegetables, and sweets in front of her gate.
And there is also a girl on the other side of the road who was staring curiously at her way.
She decided to ignore that because she thinks nothing much is interesting here. Though she can only carry the boxes to the house without the use of her mental will because a person was looking into her direction.
"Ah wait! Do you want help with that?" Then the girl asks that as she moves closer to her house.
This prompts Ayumi to look at the girl carefully.
It was a brunette wearing her hair in a side ponytail. She have a bright smile on her face as she directed her attention to Ayumi.
It took Ayumi a moment to look back before she suddenly did a double take. Then she froze.
'Wait... isn't this...'
Her thought were interrupted as the girl kneeled a bit to get in the same line of sight as Ayumi. This causes the hooded girl to avert her gaze a bit.
"Ooooooh... a shy one. How cute!~~" The girl cooed at her.
Then Ayumi a soft pressure on her head.
'Eh?' Ayumi can't help but look at the girl's direction and saw her giving a gentle smile.
"Don't worry. I am not a bad person. This big sister will help you, okay?" The girl said with a smile before standing up.
'Ugh... is she really...' Ayumi thought before shaking her head. 'Of course she is!'
Ayumi then quickly moves to the boxes before the girl can even get close to it.
"Ah! Don't worry, I got this!" Ayumi quickly said as she carried one of the boxes.
"Oooh! Amazing! You can carry that with your body!?" The girl was now looking at her with her eyes lighting up in excitement.
"... Yes." Ayumi's neutral tone was slowly becoming shy.
She tries to focus on her task and move to the opened door to her house.
"Ah, I'll also help!" The girl said as she took the other box and carries it. "Wah! It's pretty heavy!" She heard the girl exclaimed in surprise.
After she carried the box of meat inside the entrance door, she turned back only to see the girl carrying the next box and putting it besides the box of meat.
"Thank you..." Ayumi can't help but thank her shyly.
"No problem!" The girl said with a smile before going back to the gate to take more of the boxes.
"I'll do that!" Ayumi quickly started as she goes along with her.
While the two of them are doing that, Fubuki was peeking on the side of the wall in curiosity. She was curious who is that girl that was helping Ayumi. Though she doesn't want to show herself so she can only look in the distance while hiding like this.
As time passed, the dozens of boxes on the gate was slowly being put inside until they all are gone. On that time, the girl was happily talking to her even though she was doing heavy labor.
Of course Ayumi did her best to lessen the burden on the girl, already knowing the girl's identity because of her appearance. Though she did it fast and quick, Ayumi also make it in a reasonable pace so the girl doesn't suspect that she have inhuman strength and speed.
"Ah, that was a good workout!" The girl said before she realizes something. "Ah right, I didn't introduce myself to you right?" With Ayumi's nod, the girl continued. "Nice to meet you, I am Natsuiro Matsuri. I just live at the other side of the house there, so I think we were neighbors. How about you?" The girl, now known as Matsuri, introduced herself in a cheerful way.
"Uhmmm... my name is Hoshimachi Ayumi..." Ayumi introduces herself shyly.
She can't even look at Matsuri because of shyness.
It's not because she is a stranger. No, Ayumi literally recognizes her.
'Natsuiro Matsuri, a member of Hololive!' Ayumi thought with excitement and nervousness.
As far as she remembers, she only knows the girl through some of the clips that she watches from her. One of it is her playing Project Winter with her fellow members.
Though Ayumi didn't finish the video but that's the only part that she knows of Matsuri. She also watches some clips of her playing some racing game involving Mario but again, she didn't finish that clip.
Basically, Ayumi have a little knowledge about Matsuri.
'What do I do!? I don't even know much about her!' Ayumi thought in a panic.
She still remembers her objective. Finding all the members of Hololive and making them join her as she builds the Hololive group in this world.
But she was still pondering how she would do that when she didn't even know most of them. She only knows them because of games.
'And... I doubt she have any knowledge about the supernatural!' Ayumi thought to herself as she recalls Fubuki who was still inside her house.
While she was thinking like that, Matsuri was telling her how good is her name.
"What a nice name. Does it mean that your like walking in a star city?" Matsuri asks with a tilt of her head.
Ayumi honestly felt that her name doesn't have anything to do with that. But she just nodded anyway.
"Wow, I got it right!?" Matsuri exclaimed in excitement before she looks at the sky. "Uwaaah! It's already this late!" She then looks at Ayumi. "Okay Ayumi-chan, let's meet again next time!~" After saying that, she quickly runs out of the gate, leaving her alone.
"... She just called me by my first name like it was natural." Ayumi muttered with some elation and some embarrassment. 'She have a high skill in socializing.' Ayumi thought to herself in amazement.
She looks around before locking her gate. Then she locks the door to her house before sighing.
Only to be surprised when she see Fubuki was now nearby and was staring at her way.
"... Who is she?" The fox girl asks with a tilt of her head.
'Cute!' Ayumi thought to herself as she answered. "It's our neighbor." She says.
"Neighbor?" Fubuki muttered to herself. "She is a good person, I think." She said in passing before looking at the boxes.
'Yes... she is...' Ayumi also thought to herself as she recalls the girl's cheery expression.
Then her expression became clouded as she recalls some of the things that she reads on the comment section about the Matsuri on her past life.
'Based on them, she was a pervert and she likes young girls.' Ayumi thought before denying those notions. 'Nope, Impossible! She can't be like that right!?' Ayumi thought to herself in denial.
"Ayumi, let's open it all now!"
"Ah, wait! I'll take care of it!" Ayumi quickly gets her attention back to reality as she heard Fubuki looking at the box of sweets in there. 'Well, I'll think about talking to Matsuri later. For now, I should take care of this.' She thought to herself as she picks up all the boxes with her Psychokinesis. 'But I didn't thought she was just nearby...' Ayumi's thought continued like that.

Surprised! I am back!
Well, I am not sure if I'll be able to do this continuously but I'll abuse this chance as much as I can. Meaning, I'll be updating this story actively once again!
So anyway, about this arc. This is the fifth arc by the way. And I don't know what to call this.
For now, the introduction of Natsuiro Matsuri!
I don't know what to say other than that. I don't even know if I made her first introduction right or not. Well, OOC is still serious business even if this is a fanfiction.
Of course I know I can't perfectly replicate their personalities. I am slightly glad that I keep putting up the warnings at the start of the chapters on this story so you will know what to expect. Which is being OOC and people being just... Strong.
