~~~Chapter Twenty-Four~~~

When we both reached our climax we both let out a yell. At the same time, I glow silver and he glows gold. Our powers entwine once more before settling back into our bodies. The joining of our powers once more causes us to pass out.
~~~Present~~~
~~~Selena's POV~~~
I spend the rest of the night around Mamo-chan's cuddling on his bed but as soon as morning comes I leave after a kiss and head back home and sneak up into my room and remove the copy I left behind.
I head into my bathroom and take a bubble bath for a change instead of a shower and let myself relax for a while.
I get out half an hour later and get dressed in my usual emerald green silk dress.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Rubeus is staring at one of the mirrors with his arms folded across his chest. Wiseman appears behind him and calls out to him causing him to turn and look.
"Rubeus, Prince Demando is furious because of your repeated failures."
"The Prince is?" Rubeus queries.
"You do not have much time left. You need to hurry and carry out your mission. Otherwise, your status may be compromised." Wiseman warns.
Rubeus crosses one of his arms over his chest while holding up a clenched fist. "I don't need to be reminded of that by you."
"I foresee that the crescent energy will appear on a sleepy afternoon." Wiseman comments.
"Really?!" Rubeus questions surprised.
"At the Hikawa Shrine, which used to be one of the Crystal Points," Wiseman adds.
"The Hikawa Shrine. That area is under Koan's jurisdiction." Rubeus turns away and places his hands inside his pockets. "All right, I will send Koan there right away."
"But I have an ominous presentiment." Wiseman continues. "I'm afraid something bad with happen to Koan."
Rubeus scoffs. "I don't care. She is just one of my subordinates. As long as I can get hold of the Rabbits, I will be fine." The city appears in the mirror as he turns to gaze at it.
~~~With Rei~~~
Rei walks down the street wearing a yellow dress with a yellow circle belt, a light green jacket and a red shoulder bag.
"Rei-san!" Yuuichirou calls out from behind her, carrying all of her packages. "Please wait!"
Rei comes to a stop and turns to look at him. "I can't believe you! Yuuichirou, don't be such a slowpoke!" Rei scolds.
"Oh, but these are heavier than they look," Yuuichirou admits.
"So? You're a man; aren't you?" Rei points out. "If you don't look where you're going, you're going to run into something." She turns around and walks off.
"How do you expect me to see?" Yuuichirou questions.
Just then, a woman, Koan who is wearing a red short-sleeved top and long light purple skirt, comes out of a store with a bag in front of her covering her face. Koan and Yuuichirou bang into each other causing them to fall to the floor.
Rei stops and looks behind her. "Yuuichirou, you klutz!"
Yuuichirou sits up and notices Koan. "Oh, I'm sorry. Are you okay?"
Koan sits up with a hand over her face before removing it to glare at him. "What are you doing?! Watch where you're going!"
Yuuichirou sweatdrops and rubs the back of his head. "I'm so sorry!"
"Come on, Yuuichirou!" Rei orders as she walks towards him. "Hurry and pick everything back up!"
"Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes." Yuuichirou agrees as he rushes to do that.
Koan stares at Yuuichirou. He's the same guy I met at that Protect Esthe.
Yuuichirou picks up Koan bag. "Excuse me, you dropped this…"
Koan snatches the bag off him and stands up causing him to sweatdrop. "You're such a pathetic man."
"What?" Yuuichirou questions confused.
Koan turns away and walks off causing both Rei and Yuuichirou to gaze at her retreating back. Koan turns her head briefly to look back. That kind of guy will never be happy.
Rei blinks before looking down at Yuuichirou with her hands on her hips. "How long are you going to keep looking at her?!"
Yuuichirou sweatdrops and looks away. "Oh, well, I thought I'd met her somewhere before."
Rei turns to look. "Really?"
~~~With Koan~~~
She walks through the mirror still mad.
"What are you mad about?" Rubeus questions.
Koan lowers her head in surprise. She sweatdrops and turns to look at him with a blush on her cheeks. "Rubeus-sama…"
Rubeus moves off the mirror. "I have been waiting for you, Koan."
"What? For me?" Koan questions confused.
Rubeus walks over to her and places his hands on her shoulders causing her blush to brighten. "Who else would I wait for, besides you?"
Koan looks up at him surprised. "Rubeus-sama…"
"I need your help right now. I want you to go to the Hikawa Shrine again." Rubeus orders.
"The Hikawa Shrine? But that place is already…" Koan trails off.
"The Rabbits are supposed to appear there," Rubeus admits.
"The Rabbits?!" Koan exclaims, the blush leaving her face.
Rubeus pulls her closer causing her blush to appear again. "That's right. This afternoon."
Koan lowers her head as a smirk appears on her face. "If we already know that she will appear at the Hikawa Shrine, it'll be easy!" She looks up at Rubeus. "I will kill the Rabbits even if it costs my life."
"Good. Make sure not to screw up this time." Rubeus warns.
"Don't worry," Koan says with a blush on her face.
Rubeus moves her away from him causing her eyes to widen. Rubeus walks away when Koan calls out to him. "Oh, Rubeus-sama, I almost forgot." He stops and she walks over to him. "This cologne is a wonderful fragrance. Rubeus-sama, my love, I hope it becomes your favourite." She places it in his hand with a smile on her face.
Rubeus looks down at it. "I see. Thank you, I will accept it gratefully." He smashes it between his hand.
Koan lets out a gasp as she looks down at his hand.
Rubeus opens his hands to show the bottle smashed. "Oops! It seems I gripped it a little too tightly." He lowers his hand, turns away and walks off. "I will be careful from now on."
Koan looks up and looks at Rubeus who disappear through the mirror, with watering eyes. She looks down at the floor where the shattered piece of the bottle is as she brings her fist up to her chin.
Koan snaps out of it and walks up the steps of the Hikawa Shrine. She lowers her umbrella slightly and looks down at her watch. "According to Rubeus-sama, it'll happen this afternoon, but…It appears they're not here yet."
I wonder what was wrong with Rubeus-sama today? It was as if he didn't care about me at all.
She looks away with lowered eyes. "Oh, it must be just my imagination."
"Welcome to the Hikawa Shrine!" A male voice calls out causing Koan to look up. Yuuichirou appears in front of her. "So, what brings you here today? Fortune slips? Talismans? Prayers? Purification? Or are you troubled by something?"
Koan sweatdrops. "It's him. The pitiful man."
Yuuichirou sweatdrops but takes her over to the store where she gets a fortune slip. "Thank you."
Koan walks off and looks at her fortune slip. "'Great Luck!' It says, 'Your long-time wish will come true.' See? I have nothing to worry about!" She looks up at the sky with a blush on her cheeks. "He was acting a little cold and harsh towards me because he wanted to spur me onwards. I'm sure of it."
Koan gets out her makeup with a smile on her face. "Oh, Rubeus-sama, I will become even more beautiful for you." She opens the lid and lets out a surprised sound when Rubeus's face is inside the mirror.
"Koan, has the Rabbits appeared yet?" He questions.
"No, not yet. I don't see any signs of them." Koan admits.
"This isn't the time to worry about your makeup." Rubeus scolds.
Koan lowers her head. "I'm very sorry! But it's…"
"Anyway, if you're just waiting for the Rabbits, you aren't doing enough. If you see any children who look like The Rabbits, just kill them all." Rubeus orders.
"Yes, Sir." Koan agrees.
"Don't disappoint me. Koan, my love…" Rubeus says before he disappears from the mirror.
Koan lowers her head with a blush on her cheeks. "Yes! Leave everything to me."
She closes the lid and looks up. As I thought, Rubeus-sama loves me after all.
"Hey, Yuuichirou! I told you to feed the chickens in the morning!" Rei shouts as she chases him with a broom. "How many times do I have to tell you?!"
Koan lets out a scoff. "What a world of difference there is between those people and the loving relationship that Rubeus and I share."
~~~With Minako and Makoto~~~
Minako and Makoto are sitting at a table inside a café with Artemis and Luna in their laps.
Minako is wearing a white t-shirt underneath dark pink overalls and Makoto is wearing an orange and white striped short-sleeved top and white shorts.
Minako lets out a sigh and lowers her head. "Picturing girls eating parfaits with cats…"
"It's not very elegant." Makoto agrees.
"Hey, Luna, what happened to Usagi-chan and Selena-chan today?" Minako questions.
"They went to Rei-chan's place to return some comic books, and they're not back yet," Luna admits.
"And Ami-chan is at cram school even though it's Sunday," Minako adds.
"In short, we're the only ones with nothing to do!" Artemis comments before laughing.
Minako opens her eyes and glares down at him. "Stop laughing!" Minako and Makoto scold at the same time while Minako flicks his nose.
He places his paws over his nose causing Luna to sweatdrops and Minako and Makoto to let out a sigh.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Both Usagi, who is wearing a short-sleeved pink top and blue shorts, and I head up to Rei's shrine. We go inside and sit down and Usagi is quick to start reading comics again.
It isn't long before she laughs loudly, kicking her legs out in front of her.
"Really, I don't know what to do with that boy." Rei, who is wearing a long-sleeved orange top and brown shorts, comments as she walks into the room.
Rei stops and looks down at Usagi. Usagi notices her and points at the comic book. "Rei-chan, this comic book is so funny!"
Rei takes a deep breath as she places her hands on her hips. "Stop laughing! How long are you going to stay here reading comics?!"
"Oh, come on, just a little longer. I can't read it if I take it home because Chibi-Usa and Luna are there." Usagi says cheerfully.
"That doesn't mean you can…" Rei trails off.
"Is anyone home?" A female voice calls out.
Rei turns around and heads to the front door. "Yes, may I help you?" Rei questions as Usagi and I follow after her.
"I'm a cosmetics saleswoman." The woman, who is wearing a pink short-sleeved top and skirt and a crème hat with a gold band and two black flowers, admits. "Oh, the three of you are so pretty. Are you models?"
Rei sits down with a hand on her cheek and Usagi entwines her finger together and hops about from one leg to the other. "Really, oba-san? You think so, too?" They both say at the same time.
The woman sweatdrops. "Oba-san?" She snaps out of it and takes out some makeup and places them in front of her. "Something like this is very gentle to your skin. If you use these, you'll find a boyfriend in no time at all. Or, do you already have boyfriends?"
I let out a soft chuckle. "I already have one and have had one for a while," I admit softly.
Rei looks down at the makeup in her hand with a blush on her cheeks. "Well, I don't know if I'd call him a boyfriend, but…"
Usagi looks up with a pout. "I don't have one yet."
"You find one eventually, Usagi. You just have to be patient. It has to be someone you know you can trust." I point out softly.
Rei nods her head. "Loving someone means trusting that person. If you don't trust him anymore, then you no longer have a relationship. It's important to keep on believing in him, no matter how coldly he treats you."
Usagi looks up, the pout leaving her face. "You think so?"
Rei and I share a look. "Don't worry!" We both say at the same time.
A smile appears on Usagi's face. "You're right!"
"I think you're a little wrong there." The woman, Koan, says causing us to look at her. "Being loved is what means the most to a woman. I don't think loving and trusting each other means much. You should never do something miserable like continuing to love someone who treats you coldly."
Koan suddenly stands up. "If you don't want his affections to grow cold, you have to make an effort to take care of your beauty. In order to be loved, you must wear makeup and look pretty at all times! That is what it all comes down to!"
Rei and Usagi sweatdrop. "Um…"
Koan suddenly backs away with a blush on her face.
"Excuse me…I don't think I need your products." Rei admits.
"Oh really? By the way, are there any little children here?" Koan asks.
"Little children?" Rei queries.
"Well, we also sell cosmetics for young children, especially girls. So…" Koan trails off.
Rei shakes her head. "We don't have any little children like that."
Koan walks towards the door. "Then, thank you for your time."
"She's weird." Usagi comments.
"First you, and now that weird lady. Today must be an unlucky day." Rei states.
Usagi turns to look at Rei and Rei looks back causing me to let out a soft chuckle.
~~~3rd POV~~~
So, the Rabbits are just going to show up here after all. Koan lifts her head. I have no choice; I'll stake this place out for a while.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
It isn't long before Usagi finishes reading and we leave.
"Bye, Rei," I say softly.
"Then, see you later!" Usagi calls out cheerfully.
Yuuichirou stops sweeping and turns to look at us. "Oh, are you leaving already?"
"Yeah, I'll come again later! Bye-bye!" Usagi says happily as she runs by.
"Bye, Yuuichirou," I say softly before catching up with Usagi.
"Bye, bye!" Yuuichirou calls out as we walk down the steps.
Usagi comes to a stop and I look to see Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy jumping up the steps and heading towards us. "Chibi-Usa, don't waste too much time reading comics at Rei-chan's place," Usagi warns.
Chibi-Usa stops next to Usagi. "Why not?! That's what you were doing!" She pulls on her bottom eyelid and sticks out her tongue before continuing up the steps, Selene and Teddy following her.
"She is so not cute!" Usagi comments. The bus drives by causing Usagi to look and run down the steps. "Oh, wait! We need to get on!"
I let out a soft chuckle and run after her.
~~~3rd POV~~~
The three children make it to the top. "Here you are!" A female voice suddenly says.
The children look around confused. "Huh? Huh? Huh?"
They look up and their faces pale. Koan jumps from the sky and lands in front of them causing them to sweatdrop. Koan places her face close to Chibi-Usa's. They back away and let out a scream.
The scream reaches Rei and Yuuichirou's ears causing them to turn their heads in the same direction.
The children turn to run away but Koan reaches out with her hand and pins them to the ground. She lets out a laugh. "I was getting tired of waiting, Rabbits."
Yuuichirou suddenly appears and hits Koan's head with the broom causing her to turn and look at him. "Hey, what are you doing to Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy?!"
"A broom?" Koan question before turning to look at him. "Don't tell me you just used that to hit my head?!"
"What?" Yuuichirou questions confused.
Koan stands up with an angry look on her face. "How dare you do that to my beautiful hair?! You're going to mess up my hairdo! Dark Fire!"
Yuuichirou turns around and runs in the other direction but the fire catches up causing him to dodge out of the way with a shout and he lands on the ground.
Rei comes around the corner. "That's…"
Yuuichirou pushes himself back up as Koan lands behind him.
"Koan!" Rei calls out surprised.
Koan holds out her hand above Yuuichirou. "Die!"
Rei picks up a stone from the ground and throws it at Koan causing her to move out of the way. "Yuuichirou, hurry!"
Yuuichirou gets up. "Rei-san!" He trips slightly but continues running towards Rei.
"One after another, stop getting in my way!" Koan shouts annoyed as she sent her Dark Fire at them a few times. They dodge out of the way each time but on the last time, Rei lands on the ground.
Koan holds out her hand. "Die!"
"Shoot!" Rei curses as the Dark Fire is sent towards her.
"Rei-san!" Yuuichirou calls out before lunging forward.
Rei opens her eyes slightly before they widen. Yuuichirou had jumped on top of her and got the full blast of the attack instead. "Yuuichirou!"
Koan backs away surprised. "What?!"
Rei sits up and lifts Yuuichirou up. "Yuuichirou! Yuuichirou, are you okay? Yuuichirou?"
"Why do you protect her, even after she treated you so cruelly?" Koan demands.
Yuuichirou lifts his head. "I can…only show my love in my own way."
"How idiotic! That girl doesn't give a damn about you!" Koan comments.
"That doesn't matter at all!" Yuuichirou admits before his head lowers once more.
Rei lets out a soft gasp. "Yuuichirou! Hang in there! Yuuichirou! Yuuichirou!"
Koan's eyes widen in disbelief. Rei lowers Yuuichirou to the ground and stands up with her fists clenched. "Unforgivable. I can't forgive you! Mars Star Power Makeup!" Rei calls out.
Koan back away surprised once more. "You…You're a sailor senshi?!"
"Burning Mandala!" Rei calls out.
Koan disappears and appears on her knees on the roof. "This is a surprise. Well, it's perfect. If I get rid of both you and the Rabbits, Rubeus-sama will be very happy."
Koan stands up and jumps in the air and send her fire towards Rei who is quick to dodge out of the way. Rei sends fire towards Koan and Koan send fire back. "Impudent brat!"
Koan comes through the fire and heads towards Rei causing her to cover her face with her arms. Koan suddenly disappears and appears next to a tree before lunging towards Rei once more. Rei turns to look but she couldn't move in time and gets hit sending her to the ground where she skids across and lands next to Yuuichirou.
Rei sits up and turns her head to look at Koan who once again jumps into the air. Rei looks at Yuuichirou and picks him up and jumps out of the way just as Fire is sent towards her.
Rei lands on the ground and lets out a shout of pain and her leg is hurt.
Koan lands back on the ground and lets out a scoff. "How stupid! You could have escaped if you had left him."
Rei pushes herself up. "There's no way I could do something like that! Yuuichirou's in this state because he tried to protect me."
Koan lets out another scoff. "I remember now. You said that loving someone is more important."
Rei lets out a gasp. "So that saleswoman was you?"
"Why do you go to such lengths to protect that kind of man? He's not your lover, nor do you love him." Koan points out.
Rei struggles to stand up. "I just want to repay Yuuichirou's sincerity." She falls back to her knees.
"That kind of love is nothing compared to what Rubeus-sama and I have!" Koan comments.
"Don't be ridiculous! Your love is just love for yourself!" Rei lifts her head and opens her eyes. "You thinking about the other person's feeling is…That's…That's not real love!"
Koan's eyes widen. "That's not true. We care about each other, and we love each other."
Rei breathes heavily. "Is that really true?"
Koan's eyes widen before she shakes her head. "No! Shut up! You're wrong! We're not like that! I can't have time for this little girl's nonsense! I'll get rid of the Rabbits first!" She jumps in the air.
"Shoot!" Rei curses.
Koan appears next to the children, who are still unconscious. She holds out her hand and her nails sharpen. As she moves closer, a rose embeds itself in the ground right in front of her. She looks up. "This is…"
Tuxedo Mask is standing on the Shrine's gate. "The image of love that shimmers in the heat waves. Now, sorrowful wanderer, listen to the beat of her heart."
Koan sweatdrops while Tuxedo Mask jumps of the gate and lands on the ground. He quickly picks up the three children. "Goodbye." He gets up and runs off.
Koan gets up. "Hey, you! Wait!"
An attack heads towards Koan causing her to turn and look and cover her face with her arms. Rei's attack hits dead on causing Koan to fall to her knees injured. "I was caught off guard."
"Your opponent is right here." Rei comments.
"Koan!" A male voice says.
Koan looks up at the roof and lets out a gasp as Rubeus appears there. "Rubeus-sama…"
"Koan, have you gotten rid of the Rabbits?" Rubeus asks.
"I'm very sorry. I almost had them, but they got away." Koan admits.
Rubeus narrows his eyes before closing them and lowering his head. "I see; I understand." He lifts his head and opens his eyes to stare down at Koan. "Thank you for working under me for such a long time. I truly appreciate it. But I don't think I will see you again."
Koan stands up. "Oh, no! please wait, I'm fighting a sailor senshi right now. I will kill this sailor senshi, so please forgive me."
"You don't possess that kind of power right now." Rubeus points out.
Koan entwines her finger together. "Then, please fight alongside me."
Rubeus lets out a scoff. "I'm an unlucky man, to have such an incompetent subordinate as you."
"That is so harsh…" Koan trails off before looking away. "I've loved you all these years. And you also…" She looks back up at him.
"Love? How ridiculous!" Rubeus denies. "An absurd thing like love doesn't belong in a glorious clan like ours."
Koan lets out a gasp as her eyes widen. Her body shakes as she takes a step back.
"This will be your first and final present from me." Rubeus holds out his hand and a black ball of energy appears on it. "Take it."
It appears in front of Koan and floats down and lands on her hand. "This is…"
"Use this and remove the sailor senshi from this world." Rubeus orders. "That is much better than the useless cosmetic presents you gave me." He disappears.
Koan gazes at the energy in her hands. "A space-time bomb…So, you want me to die…"
Rei lets out a gasp. "What?! Koan, throw that away!"
"It's already too late," Koan says sadly. Rei lets out a gasp as tears fall from Koan's eyes. "You win." She lifts her head. "It seems that the love I believed in was wrong." She closes her eyes.
"Venus Love-Me Chain!" Minako calls out.
She knocks the bomb away and it flies up into the sky.
"Sparkling Wide Pressure!" Makoto calls out.
Makoto's attack hits the bomb causing an explosion. Rei covers her head before looking to see the rest of the girls and the cats standing there.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Usagi stands up. "It's time to give up, Koan!"
"You have nowhere to go now!" Ami-chan points out.
Koan is sitting on the floor. "Nowhere to go…"
"What?" Usagi, Ami-chan, Mako-chan and Minako-chan exclaims.
Koan's shoulder shake. "That's right, I have nowhere to go now. It's all because of you." She slowly stands up. "It's your fault…Everything is your fault!" She turns and her eyes and filled with tears.
Rei lets out a gasp as Koan lunges towards us, tears falling from her eyes. we dodge out of the way.
"I'm finished!" Koan yells, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I've lost everything! Because of you, I've lost my future, my love and even my place to go back to! It's all your fault!"
Koan continues to attack us and we continue to dodge out of the way.
"Please, stop it!" Rei cries.
Koan continues to cry. Mako-chan lunges towards Koan but her eyes widen when Rei umps in the way protecting Koan and she gets hit instead.
Koan's eyes widen and she lets out a soft gasp. Mako-chan jumps back and lets out her gasp along with Ami-chan, Minako-chan and Usagi.
"Mars!" Ami-chan calls out.
"Why?" Mako-chan questions.
Rei lifts her head. "It's not over, Koan. You haven't lost everything. You still have yourself. If you believe you were wrong, you can fix it little by little. Your future starts now. All right?"
Tears fill Koan's eyes and begin rolling down her cheeks once more. Rei sits up and turns to look at Usagi and me. "Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia, would you please turn her into a normal woman?"
"I really wish I could, but…" Usagi trails off.
"There is a way, Usagi," I say softly.
Luna nods her head and looks up. "Sailor Moon, use your Silver Crystal!"
"It isn't as powerful as before, but you should still be able to turn Koan into a normal woman," Artemis admits.
"Try it!" Crescent and Yue order softly.
Usagi nods her head. "All right, I will."
Usagi takes off her brooch. "Please, Silver Crystal." She moves her hand across, and a bright pink light is released.
I move my hand across my Silver Crystal on my cuff and a bright silver light is released.
"Moon Crystal Power!" Usagi and I call out at the same time.
The energy surrounds Koan. "Refresh!"
We undo our transformation and a bandage is wrapped around Rei's leg as she leans on a crutch.
~~~3rd POV~~~
~~~A couple of days later~~~
"Here, Yuuichirou! Wipe it like you really mean it!" Rei scolds.
"Yes, ma'am." Yuuichirou agrees.
"You're not putting your back into it! Come on!" Rei orders.
"Yes! Back scrub, back scrub!" Yuuichirou says cheerfully as he wipes the floor, also covered in bandages.
Rei lets out a sigh. "Oh, boy…"
"Is anyone home?" A female voice calls out. "I'm a cosmetics saleswoman," Koan says.
A smile appears on Rei's face. Yuuichirou appears next to Rei and points at Koan. "Oh! You're…"
Koan looks up. "Oh, you two always get along so well. I'm jealous." She admits with a smile on her face.
Another smile appears on Rei's face. I'm glad you're doing well, Koan.
