(Author's Note)
Agh, this took longer to work out than I thought it would...
Anyways, hey guys, welcome back to Good Heavens, It's Rider Time! Sorry about the wait, again. Chapter 11 was taking it's sweet time getting itself into a position I could just sorta write away with. I'm there now and I'm almost wrapped up, so once Saturday hits, I'll be posting Chapter 11 for all of your sweet reading pleasure.
I'd also like to take a quick moment to say something else. Unless I change my mind, I believe I'll be making this chapter the last .5 or -5 Chapter that I do for this story. Now, there's a couple of reasons for this.
First, While it's great to set up upcoming chapters and the like, it's been getting to a point where I feel like what I'm writing for a -5 can just be thrown into the main chapter with no real difference overall.
Second, I was never really commited a 100% to the -5 chapters, since all I was really doing was playing of the .5 episodes from the original Zi-O run. I've come to realize that it doesn't work as well here as it does there, especially since they aren't really side content and are actual main pieces of information to look into.
So, from now on, if I ever do post a -5 Chapter, consider it an Omake that doesn't have any real significance to the story and is purely there because I wanted to write something fun but had no real place to put it in the main story.
Now, with all that out of the way, onto reviews!
To Taiman215: Perhaps, who knows? One thing I'll say though is that I will be handling Future Riders a bit... differently compared to the show. Hopefully I don't get my throat ripped out for doing as such, but we'll see how it goes.
Alright, with all that out of the way, here's the chapter, and again: Chapter 11 is gonna be out on Saturday.
The table shook as the large binder dropped onto the end, causing me to drop my spoon into the soup I was eating as I looked over to see Ruby smiling wildly at the table. "Uh…"
"Ahem!" Ruby began, clearing her throat as the attention of the entire table. "Sisters... friends... Weiss."
"Hey!"
"Four score and seven minutes ago, I had a dream." Ruby continued, ignoring Weiss as Yang leaned over to me.
"This outta be good." She said, before catching a grape in her mouth courtesy of Nora.
"Four score is eighty years, Rubes-" I said, before a finger from a very hyper ruby slammed over my lips.
"Shh!" She said, narrowing her eyes before she pulled back as she picked up the binder. "A dream that one day, the four, wait no, 5 of us will come together, as a team, and have the most fun anyone has ever had... ever!"
"Did you steal my binder?" Weiss asked, looking at the front of the binder.
Ruby unceremoniously tossed the Binder my way, the thing slamming into my chest as she held her hands up next to her in peace signs as she looked at Weiss. "I am not a crook!"
"What are you talking about?" Blake asked as I placed the binder back on the table.
"I'm talking about kicking off the semester with a bang!" Ruby said, pointing her hand at Blake in a 'Finger Gun'.
"I always kick my semesters off with a Yang!" Yang said, holding her arms up with a shrug as she looked at her tablemates. "Eh? Guys? Am I Right?"
I snorted before slapping my hand against my forehead. "Oh god I'm encouraging her…" I muttered as I leaned back in my chair, the sound of an Apple bouncing off Yang's head muffled under the sound of my face palm.
"Look guys, it's been a good two weeks and between more exchange students arriving, and the tournament at the end of the year, our second semester is going to be great! But, classes start back up tomorrow! Which is why I've taken the time to schedule a series of wonderful events for us today." Ruby said, placing her fists on her hips with a wide grin.
"I don't know whether to be proud or scared of what you have in store." Weiss said, as I leaned to the side as Yang threw the apple back from whence it came.
"I think that sentiment is shared with the rest of my team since…" I said, motioning to the lack of my teammates in the cafeteria.
"I don't know. I think I might sit this one out." Blake said.
"Sit out or not, I think that however we spend this last day, we should do it as a team!" Weiss said, nodding to the group, before she stood up. "I for think that-"
There was a sudden silence as we all looked at Weiss. "Huh, didn't know they served full pies here…" I muttered, looking at the pie that had crashed into Weiss' face, cutting her off mid sentence.
"Well, this is going just perfectly!" I shouted, diving behind a table as the Cafeteria suddenly devolved into a food fight. "Seriously, since when did these things actually happen!?"
"Food Fight!"
I let out a sigh as I watched a crowd of students run past the front door as Yang grabbed my shirt and tossed me into the open. "WOAH!"
I shook my head as the sound of Nora laughing hysterically filled the cafeteria. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!"
I pulled myself up to a stand and looked out at the makeshift tower of cafeteria tables that Team JNPR were stationed on. "Oh you gotta be-!"
Ruby slammed her foot on the table she was standing on, holding a milk carton in her off hand as she pointed at Team JNPR. "Justice will be swift! Justice will be painful!" She began, before crushing the milk carton as she threw her fist up in the air. "It will be delicious!"
"Yeah!" The rest of Team RWBY exclaimed, following suit with their leader.
"...Sure, why not?" I shrugged, before following Team RWBY as the five of us charged onto the battleground as JNPR dropped down and began throwing watermelons at us. "Oh shit!"
"Yang! Turkey!" Ruby shouted, taking a step back as Yang ran ahead, dropping into a roll as she grabbed two full turkeys and slipped them on over her fists as she punched, blocked and smashed the melons that were flying towards us.
"Well… that's one way to tenderize meat." I said as Blake ran past me, hopping over Yang as she picked up two long baguettes as she began smashing the melons in tangent with Yang. "Okay, seriously!? How stale even is that bread!?"
I narrowed my eyes and ran to the side, sliding along the ground as a few stray watermelons passed overhead as I grabbed one of the stale baguettes. I rolled to a stand and swung, cleaving one of the melons in two as I ran ahead, vaulting over one of the tables as I caught up to Yang and Blake as Yang launched the Turkeys on her fists into Jaune's stomach, sending him flying back as Blake collided Baguettes with Pyrrha.
I let out a breath before I ran ahead, sliding under a table as Blake flew past me over where I had just been standing a moment ago as Pyrrha began throwing Baguettes at Yang. I ran up and swung with my bread, slamming into her loaf as I struggled against Pyrrha's strength. "You know, I think this is the first time we've actually fought." I noted.
"Yes, I believe so." Pyrrha said, before she pulled back her arm to the side, throwing my balance off as she swiped my leg out from under me and jabbed the Baguette in her hand into my Solar Plexus, sending me flying back as Ruby passed by riding on a tray like a skateboard.
I slid to a stop, wheezing as I slowly sat up. "That… That would explain why…" I wheezed out as I stood up. I looked up, watching as a large amount of tables suddenly were flung into the air, some flying straight towards me. "Oh come on!" I shouted, running ahead once more as I ducked and weaved out of the way of the oncoming tables. "Okay, that's it!"
[ZIKU DRIVER!]
I rolled to the side, twisting the dial on my Ride Watch and pressing down on the activation button as another table crashed next to where I was just standing.
{ZI-O!}
"Henshin!" I shouted, spinning the driver as I ran ahead once more, the spinning watch bands protecting me as more baguettes were thrown my way.
[RIDER TIME!]
{KAMEN RIDER! ZI-O!}
I slowed to a stop as Ruby slid next to me. "So, this how you expected your perfect day to start?" I asked sarcastically as I helped her up to a stand.
"Nope!" She said, laughing lightly before she raised an eyebrow. "Why are you wearing your armour?"
"Uh… Because you guys have aura and I don't?" I said, before the white blur that was Weiss soared past us. "...Was that Weiss?" I asked as Ruby ran over to the White Haired Girl with her semblance. I turned my head to the side before something hard slammed into my back, throwing me to the side as Nora pulled up her improvised Melon Hammer. "Okay, is that even legal for a food fight?"
"Is your Armour?"
"You know what? That's fair." I said, rolling to the side as I avoided another swing from Nora as Yang tagged in, giving me time to stand up as Jaune stood opposite of me. "Jaune! We… are way out of our depths, huh?"
"Yeah…" He muttered, before the sound of Yang smashing through the roof echoed around the Cafeteria.
"Thank god for Aura…" I muttered, before turning to my right to see Pyrrha charging me. "Oh no you don't!"
I kicked the leg out from under a nearby table before jumping and drop kicking it towards Pyrrha, landing on my back as I rolled to a stand as the girl simply flipped over the table, throwing another Baguette at me as I stood up.
I leaned to the side, grabbing the loaf of french bread before spinning around and colliding once more with Pyrrha as we clashed breads. I pulled back and swung, my baguette breaking effortlessly against Pyrrha's as I blankly stared at the bread. "Okay, that's just not fair." I said, before Pyrrha swung her bread like a baseball bat, slamming it into my side and sending me crashing into the wall near the entrance of the Cafeteria, embedding me into the surface as I looked out at the carnage we were causing. "...Ow…"
I blinked as Ruby suddenly surged ahead, kicking up an air current that picked up the nearby food plates and cans as she charged towards Team JNPR, spiraling past the team of Huntsmen in training as they were caught up in the storm and picked up into the air.
Ruby suddenly turned and stopped, just shy of the wall, leaving a giant spider web like crack in the wall from the force of the current as Team JNPR slammed into the hard surface, embedding them into the wall. Ruby jumped up, leaping out of the way of the oncoming torrent of food that flew and crashed into Team JNPR, leaving the wall decorated in bright colors before the four students slowly fell off the wall, leaving their outlines in the wake of the destruction.
I let out a sigh before the doors to the auditorium slammed open, as Glynda Goodwitch walked in with murder in her eyes as she quickly fixed the Cafeteria back up. "Children, Please." She said, her voice carrying over the now quiet Cafeteria. "Do not play with your food."
It was at this moment that gravity took hold, pulling me out of the hole in the wall as I fell and crashed in front of Sun and a guy covered entirely in grape soda. "...Ow… Oh, hey Sun, when'd you get here?"
"At the start." Sun said as my transformation deactivated.
"Mr. Bridged, as eventful of a morning as usual?" I heard Ozpin ask as he walked past me towards Glynda.
"Sure… let's go with that…" I muttered, as I rolled over and stood up. "Ugh, I'm gonna feel this tomorrow…"
"Oh, look! She sent the kids again!" Roman said, turning around to see Emerald and Mercury walk into the warehouse. He walked over to them, grabbing them in a group hug from behind. "This is turning out just like the divorce!"
"Spare us the thought of you procreating." Emerald said as the two shrugged Roman off.
"That was a joke." Roman said, walking past the two as he flicked out a small sheet of paper between his fingers. "And this... just might tell me where you two have been all day."
"What!? Agh..." Emerald turned to look at Roman with wide eyes.
"I'm a professional, sweetheart. Pay attention, maybe you'll learn something." Roman said, turning around to face them before looking down at the paper slip. He looked back up at the two, his eyes narrowing at the two. "Why do you have this address?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Emerald asked.
"Yeah, I would." Roman said, walking towards them. "Now where have you been all day?"
"Cleaning up your problems. One of them, at least." Mercury said, taking a step forward.
"I had that under control…" Roman said through gritted teeth.
"Two packed bags and a ticket out of Vale said otherwise." Mercury said, pointing at Roman.
"Listen, you little punk." Roman began. "If it were up to me, then I would take you and your little street rat friend here and-"
"Do what, Roman?"
The three turned to look at a woman in a red dress step out of the shadows above them. The lift she stood upon lowered until as she looked at the three.
Roman laughed nervously. "I'd, uh... not kill them?"
"Cinder!" Emerald said, eyes widening with a smile on her face.
"I thought I made it clear that you would eliminate the would-be runaway." Cinder said, walking towards Roman.
"I was going too…"
"HE was going to escape to Vacuo! Mercury and I decided to take it upon ourselves to kill the rat." Emerald said, placing a hand on her chest.
"I think he was some sort of cat, actually." Mercury said, looking at Emerald.
"What? Like a Puma?"
"Yeah, there you go."
"Quiet." Cinder said, turning to face her two subordinates while Roman laughed behind her. "Did I not specifically instruct you two to keep your hands clean while in Vale?"
"I just thought…" Emerald said as Roman slid one of his fingers over his throat mockingly.
"Don't think. Obey." Cinder said.
"Yes ma'am. It won't happen again." Emerald said, looking down at her feet.
"And you. Why wasn't this job done sooner?" Cinder asked, looking over at Roman.
"Uh..? Eh..?" Roman pointed to his right, towards the containers lined up against the wall. "Eh..?" He motioned to the similarly stacked crates on the other side of the warehouse before he threw his hands up in the air. "EH! Sorry if I've been busy stealing every speck of Dust in the Kingdom!"
"You're an inspiration to every punk with a gun and a ski mask." Mercury deadpanned while Emerald laughed beside him.
"Look around, kid. I've got this town running scared! Police camping out at every corner, Dust prices through the roof, and we're sitting pretty on an old warehouse with more Dust crystals, vials, and rounds than we know what to do with!" Roman said, taking a step towards Mercury, before he turned to look at Cinder. "Speaking of which, if you guys wouldn't mind filling me in on your grand master plan, it might actually make my next string of robberies go a little smoother!"
"Oh, Roman. Have a little faith." Cinder said, walking towards the man, placing her hand on his chin. "You'll know what you need when you need to know."
"Could you BE anymore cryptic?" Geiz asked, walking into the room, the light reflecting off his visor.
"Finally decided to show up, Terminator?" Mercury asked, looking at the Rider.
"Should've never shown you two that movie." Geiz said with the shake of his head.
"Well, look who it is! Finally decided to join us?" Roman asked, looking at Geiz. "And where have you been off to? Running around on your own chasing after that kid again?"
"My business doesn't concern you." Geiz said, looking at Roman.
"But it does me." Cinder said, turning to look at Geiz. "What have I told you about keeping a low profile?"
"And what have I told you about our agreement?" Geiz asked, crossing his arms. "You help me find and kill Zi-O, and I help you here. I can't do what I've come here to do if you don't let me do it."
"I wouldn't concern yourself with that Geiz, besides, it won't be much longer." Cinder said, turning to look at Roman. "We're done with dust now."
"O-okay, then what now?" Roman asked.
"We're moving. Have the White Fang clear out this building. I'll send you details and coordinates tonight." Cinder said, turning and walking towards Geiz.
"Coordinates?" Roman asked.
"We're proceeding to phase two." Cinder said, looking over her shoulder at Roman before turning to look at Geiz. "Geiz… if you'll follow me."
"...I take it this is about this 'Phase Two' of yours?" Geiz asked as the two walked into a more secluded part of the warehouse.
"Correct. We'll be proceeding as planned. You haven't shown your face, have you?" Cinder asked, stopping to look at Geiz.
"No. I made a habit of not doing so long before I came here." Geiz said, looking at Cinder. "This is about Beacon isn't it?"
"We'll need our fourth team member ready to arrive alongside us. It would be a problem if it were discovered you were the rider trying to kill one of Ozpin's students." Cinder said, looking over at Geiz.
"It'll be fine." Geiz said, taking the Ride Watch off the belt as his transformation deactivated. "Even if Zi-O finds out, he won't be able to incriminate any of you for anything. At worse I can explain my appearances as seeking out information from every source available. All I'll jeopardize is my own mission, not yours if that's what you're worried about."
"Still… the name you've chosen stands out, doesn't it?"
"Doesn't matter. A fake name is a fake name. I knew someone who used it for that purpose once before. Good enough reason to use it again."
"Very well… We'll reconvene when the time is right then." Cinder said, turning around and walking away from Geiz. "I trust that you will uphold your end of the bargain?"
"...I'm a man of my word, Cinder. Are you a woman of yours?"
