Chapter 33 : Halware's Announcement & Befriending Matsuri
August 24, 2035. Tuesday.
"Hm? A new announcement?" Ayumi muttered to herself as she saw the banner on Halware's website.
Halware, a multi billionaire company and also the creator of Global Offensive Squad, was having a new announcement. It was something that will change the gaming industry.
"Let's see why they say it will change the gaming industry." Ayumi muttered to herself as she looks through the recent announcement.

We have achieved a technological milestone that many have sought to accomplish. This technology can be said to be the first ever machine that will realized the dreams of the many gamers out there.
As for our new game, we will announce it on September 8. For now, we will only reveal the features that we have inputted on our miraculous technology.

"... Full Dive Technology..." Ayumi was surprised as she finished reading all of that.
It seems like Halware had just created a new machine with the sole purpose of playing their game.
It was a dream console that most gamers will get crazy for just to have a single one of it.
"But... Halware's genre focus are FPS right?" Ayumi muttered to herself. "Maybe their new game will be a shooter game too." Ayumi continued with that conclusion in her mind.
Ayumi then looks a bit on the website before closing the browser and then opening the GOS app.
She was just looking at the website because she got curious about the surprising revelation that Halware kept announcing on all of their games, including GOS, since five days ago.
Now knowing about it, she came back to playing. It was still gonna be revealed on September 8 so she decided to focus on recording her gameplay.
She was excited about the news. She was a gamer after all. But her excitement is a bit dulled when she thinks it will be just another shooter game.
She was a big fan of RPG. She wasn't just playing it on her videos because she was already known on playing FPS.
'Well, I'll play an RPG after some time.' She thought to herself.
She was becoming unwell when playing GOS or PUBF because she was becoming known as that person who you shouldn't want to play with. And she still have a lot of people who are angry at her so she was becoming a lot more depressed these days.
So she was thinking of changing the genre of game she was playing if this continues on.
'It's not like it will make a difference even if I stop playing FPS games right?' She thought to herself while feeling sad about it.
She can't really force the people to forget about her stained image. It was already engraved on her image on the internet.
She can just use her Success Ticket to force her image to become positive at the eyes of the public, but she was scared of the repercussions.
Her Success Ticket only makes her succeed in her goal. The means to do it doesn't matter so long as she achieves her goal.
Even if someone suddenly dies or people somehow got a lot of misfortune along the way, it will somehow happen if it will make her succeed in her goal.
She was scared of causing harm to other strangers just to return her positive image back. She wasn't desperate enough to do that anyway.
And even if she stated that she wants her goal to be as safe as possible to all the people in this world, it might take decades before she can achieved her goals.
So she was doing this the normal way. She thinks she can clear her name in less than a year.
"Okay, I think I'll play on the Zeta Server." Ayumi said before pointing her cursor on that server.
She doesn't want to play against the other players today. She wants to team up with them on a zombie mode. She was still depressed about the people that she fought because they always say that she was bullying them just because she was a pro.
She wants to have a relaxing time so she was going to play on this server.
After Ayumi was done playing GOS and editing the recorded gameplay, she uploads it on her YouTube account before finally shutting down her computer.
Then she cleaned the room a bit using her mental power before leaving the streaming room.
"Hmm... It is lunch time now. It's been a week since I last cook a hamburg steak. I should cook it for Fubuki then." Ayumi muttered her plans for today's dish as she walks downstairs.
She prepared the ingredients to cook their lunch.
And after awhile, she was done making their lunch.
As she said, she made a hamburg steak with her own mix of demiglace sauce. Along with it is just a freshly cooked rice and a pot of gyudon.
After she was done setting it up, that was the time when she heard Fubuki coming downstairs.
"Oh, your done with your morning stream?" Ayumi asks as she finishes setting up the plates.
Fubuki nodded before she goes to the seat on the other side. Her eyes are fixated on the large plate of hamburg steak.
Ayumi smiled wryly at that sight before she said her thanks to her food. Fubuki also followed Ayumi's lead.
Then the both of them started eating.
While they are eating, it seems like Fubuki have something she wants to discuss to Ayumi.
"Ayumi, did you know. A Full Dive game will be released later!" She said with an excited expression.
"Hm? Your also interested with that?" Ayumi asks with a slight surprise. "How did you know?" She asks in curiosity.
She knows that Fubuki doesn't play FPS that much. She seems to be bad at that kind of game. And Halware is a game company that always make a shooter game, so she didn't know how will Fubuki have knowledge of their announcement.
"Aqua told me about it." Fubuki simply answered her.
'I see.' Ayumi thought as thinks about it. 'It seems like Aqua plays some of Halware's game if she got a knowledge about it.' Is what Ayumi was thinking.
"She also invited me to play that game."
"... Huh!?"
This causes Ayumi to be dumbfounded when she heard Fubuki saying that.
"... Wait, why is she inviting you. No not that, isn't it impossible to play that game without the Full Dive technology. I am sure only a limited amount will be released on the world." Ayumi said what she was thinking about.
And as she said, it would be impossible to have a plan of playing the new game without the Full Dive Technology that Halware seems to be advertising. It was one of a kind and if what Halware said is true, then even if they have it, they will still have a limited amount of that game device because each of it must have amounted to millions or billions of dollars just to create the machine for it.
They are based on US, so it would be common to think that only people from the US have a chance to afford one of it. It would be impossible to get the limited amount of device to other countries if they already have a customer on their own country.
It might take at least a year before they can open their market on the other countries for Full Dive Technologies.
"Hm? Well... Aqua said she will acquire some of those Virtual Capsules from her friend. She said she will give me one if I want to play with her."
'What!?' Ayumi was shocked when she heard that.
She can't believe that Aqua was friends with someone who have access to the device that Halware will release in the future.
"So what do you think?" Fubuki was asking her that with a look of anticipation.
"Hm? Well sure..." Ayumi unconsciously answers.
""Is that so? Great!" Fubuki said with a bright smile. "With this, we can play with each other again!" She said happily.
"... Heh?" Ayumi was once again confuse.
Fubuki seems to have noticed her confusion because she answered her.
"I will ask Aqua to get two Capsules for the two of us. I think she can do that." Fubuki said that with an optimistic look.
"... W-wait! Maybe it would be troublesome for her if she ask her friend for two Capsules. I think you should just ask for yourself." Ayumi quickly tried to stop her.
She didn't thought that Fubuki was also including her on her plans to play with Aqua. Ayumi can't help but feel nervous about it.
She thinks it would be too shameless to ask for two devices that was limited on this world just because someone invited you to play with them. She doesn't want to make Aqua see Fubuki as someone who was that kind of person.
Aqua only invited Fubuki to come. Ayumi thinks Aqua will feel negatively of Fubuki if she ask for two machines that can be said to be a technological wonder when Aqua wasn't even asking her to invite someone.
Or that's what Ayumi was thinking. She was too scared to even associate with the others without preparing herself. That's the real reason she was nervous. She doesn't even know that because of this feeling of inferiority and unpreparedness so she doesn't want to meet with a lot of Hololive Members.
Fubuki just smiled at her in reassurance.
"Don't worry. I am sure she will welcome you." Fubuki said before making a pondering gesture. "I mean, she said she wants to meet you after I talk about you in one of my streams." Fubuki said to give some confidence to Ayumi.
"Ah... is that so..." Ayumi can't help but become a bit red on the face.
She didn't thought that Aqua wanted to meet her. She thought that was impossible because she didn't do anything to get Aqua's attention.
"Gouchisousama!" It seems like Fubuki was done eating as she took her plate and put it on the sink. "Okay, I'll tell Aqua that you will also play with us!" She said as she goes upstairs.
Ayumi can only look at her direction in a dumbfounded way before she sighs.
"... I think this will happen later anyway. Might as well make it sooner." Ayumi muttered to herself as she continues her meal.
When afternoon came, Matsuri visits her home once again.
"Sorry for intrusion!~" Matsuri greeted with a bit more energy than what was normal for a person.
"Yes, hope you have fun in our house." Ayumi welcomed her warmly.
Since the day Matsuri visited her, she always visits her home everyday. It seems like Matsuri feels comfortable whenever she comes to this house.
Ayumi already learned from experience. So when they got to the living room, she sits on the opposite side of the table. This makes Matsuri a bit disappointed because Ayumi was a bit farther than her but she quickly bounces back to her cheerful self.
"Hey Ayumi-chan, would you like to be my little sister?"
"No."
"Hey Ayumi-chan, would you like me to be you big sister?"
"I apologize, but I refuse."
"Hey Ayumi-chan, would you like us to be a family?"
"I said no!"
Ayumi can't help but reject everything that Matsuri was proposing to her. Well, Matsuri was just teasing her but Ayumi doesn't know whether if it's a joke or not.
"Ah, a pity." Matsuri said, though her smile was still plastered on her face.
"Oh right, I can see your still carrying your bag." Ayumi said as she notice Matsuri's red bag behind her.
"Ah! I just recalled!" Matsuri said before she took her bag out of her shoulders and then places it besides her on the sofa. "Ayumi-chan, can I stay here for a bit. I want to finish my assignments on this place." She requested with a pleading gesture.
"... Why?" Ayumi ask in curiosity.
She thinks she should just do it on her house. It was pretty nearby and she have her own room there.
"Well, I felt comfortable everytime I come here. I think I can focus a lot more if I do my homework here." Matsuri honestly told her reasons to her.
"Okay." Ayumi accepted after hearing her reason.
"Yes!"
After that, Matsuri took her notebooks from her bag and put it on the table.
"Well then, I'll be taking something for us to snack on."
Seeing Matsuri nodding at her, she goes to the kitchen to prepare some snacks for them.
'I am sure she won't do anything because she was focused on her homework right?' Ayumi thought to herself.
'I wonder how it came to this?' Ayumi thought in resignation as she finds herself sitting on Matsuri's lap.
It all came back to when she came back here with a plate of donuts and some variety of beverages. Matsuri seems to have a hard time on her essay for English and some questions on Math and Science. So Ayumi, being pretty concerned, helps her.
But after awhile, Matsuri somehow got near her and she was now sitting on her lap as she helps her on her homework.
"Ah!~ Your so cute!~" Matsuri says as she patted Ayumi's head again.
Ayumi can only sigh internally as she try to resume helping Matsuri. She is not doing anything illegal. She was just being patted by her while she sits on her lap.
While Ayumi was busy trying to help Matsuri on her homework, it seems like Matsuri became curious at something.
"Hey Ayumi-chan, where are your parents?" Matsuri asks that with a curious look.
"They already passed away." Ayumi bluntly answered.
She thinks it was somewhat sad but it was the family of the original Hoshimachi Ayumi. Even if she wants to feel somewhat sad or reluctant to even say those words, it feels like she felt detached at that knowledge. It might be because she wasn't the original Hoshimachi Ayumi. She was just a person from her Earth who was transmigrated on Hoshimachi Ayumi's body.
So her feelings are dulled to a certain extent when it comes to Ayumi's original parents.
'I mean, they might be my family, but I can't help but see them as strangers because I still see my parents at my past life as my real family.' Ayumi reasoned to herself.
"Ah!? I am sorry!"
Ayumi was startled when she heard Matsuri suddenly apologizing to her.
"Wait, why?" Ayumi asks in confusion. 'It wasn't like she did something bad to me, I think?' She thought to herself.
"I made you remember something painful. That's why, I'm sorry!" Matsuri said in apology.
"N-no! It's okay!" Ayumi tried to brush it off as she looks up at Matsuri's face.
This causes her hood to fall down. Causing Matsuri to see her face.
"Wow! Your so cute!~" Matsuri's apologetic expression quickly turned into a blissful one as she hugs Ayumi tightly.
"Woah!?"
Ayumi can't help but be surprised as Matsuri hugs her.
It took awhile before Matsuri manages to calm down. Good thing she didn't go overboard unlike the first time she saw her face.
"I didn't thought that you are hiding such a cute face. That's such a waste..." Matsuri stated as she caressed Ayumi's hair.
Ayumi is still sitting on her lap. The only difference is that Matsuri's one arm is holding onto her waist while her other hand was on her head, caressing it.
Ayumi was pretty embarrassed but she carried on through sheer willpower. She thought she should be prepared to show her face to the future members of the Hololive if she was planning to create the group itself.
It seems like Matsuri forgot her homework as she busied herself interacting closely with Ayumi.
But it seems like she recalls something about their discussion awhile ago.
"Wait, who is taking care of you?" She asks in curiosity.
"Hm? I am taking care of myself." Ayumi simply replies as she forcefully makes herself comfortable on Matsuri's lap.
She was already in her grasp. She thinks she should enjoy it even if she was feeling embarrassed about it. And Matsuri wasn't doing anything weird so she thinks she is safe.
Though she will escape if she felt her doing something suspicious.
But Ayumi felt that Matsuri suddenly became stiff after she answered her question. Looking at her, Matsuri was now staring at her with in wide eyed amazement.
"You can take care of yourself!?" Matsuri started. "Amazing! Your so young and cute, but you can also take care of yourself!" Matsuri exclaimed in excitement. "It's like your the perfect wife material!" She said with her eyes lighting up.
It causes Ayumi to feel a danger, so trusting on her instinct, she smoothly slid herself out of Matsuri's grasp.
Then using her Cover and Disguising, she manages to hide her presence from Matsuri in a quick manner.
It causes Matsuri to become surprised as Ayumi's form slid out of her grasp. When she looks around, she can't see her anymore.
"Wha!? Where are you Ayumi-chan!?" She asks in bewilderment.
"I am here." Ayumi shows herself, now sitting on the opposite side of the table.
"Woah! So quick!" Matsuri can't help but say that in surprise.
"Anyway, do you want some help on your homework or are we done. The sun is going to set soon." Ayumi said, trying to derail Matsuri's attention out of her.
"Woah! It's that time already!?" Matsuri said in surprised before looking at her textbook. "Wow! It seems like I was just done on my homework. You are the best Ayumi-chan! Are you sure you don't want to be adopted to our family?" Matsuri say with a bright smile on her face.
"Please no..." Ayumi quickly replies while feeling somewhat tired at her antics.
"Ah, what a waste..." Matsuri said with a disappointed look before looking cheerful once again.
After awhile, Matsuri was done putting all her textbook on her bag and was going to the entrance door to leave. Ayumi is escorting her out of her house.
"Thank you for letting me stay. I'll visit again tomorrow!"
"Yes, see you next time."
Matsuri waves her hand in her way as she moves pass the gate. Ayumi also waves back at her as the excitable girl moves to the side to get to her home.
Then she goes back to her home to clean up the living room. There are some crumbs of donuts here and there so she needs to take care of that.
After she was done, she was just planning to go to her streaming room to look into Fubuki's stream when she heard Fubuki going downstairs.
"Ayumi! Aqua managed to convince her friend to deliver me two Virtual Capsules! Now we can play together!" Fubuki said in excitement. "I can't wait for that day!" She continued while her tail was moving left and right in excitement.
"Is that so?" Ayumi was also surprised at that. 'How did Aqua managed to befriend someone who have access to that kind of technology? Is her friend one of the top brass of Halware?' Ayumi thought to herself in confusion.
She can only speculate like that as she looks at Fubuki who was saying all her plans when they play once again together.
It seems like Fubuki really wants to play with Ayumi once again.
'Well, I think this is fine. If Fubuki will be satisfied, then I should just accept it.' Ayumi thought to herself.
