~~~Chapter Twenty-Seven~~~

"Well, as they say, 'You get along as well as you fight,'" Mako-chan comments.
"They're the same as us," Ami-chan adds.
"So true, it is the same." I agree softly.
A sly look appears on Rei's face. "Oh, but they don't seem to have a goofball as we do."
Usagi turns to look at Rei and moves close to her. "Rei-chan, who are you talking about?!"
"I don't know. I'm sure she knows who she is, though." Rei teases.
"What did you say?!" Usagi demands.
Usagi and Rei glare at each other and Rei sticks her tongue out before they let out a hmph and turn their heads away causing Mako-chan, Ami-chan, and Minako-chan to sweatdrop and I let out a soft chuckle.
"Rei-chan, you meanie!" Usagi complains.
"You just think that everything I say is something bad about you!" Rei states.
I let out another chuckle as the Four Ayakashi Sisters continued arguing along with Rei and Usagi.
~~~Present~~~
~~~3rd POV~~~
Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy gaze down into the water as leaves fly around them.
"It can't…It can't be…" Chibi-Usa denies, her face pale. "Usagi is the legendary senshi, Sailor Moon? Oba is the other legendary senshi, Sailor Celestia? And Rei-chan and the others are the sailor senshi?"
Chibi-Usa turns around and runs off. Selene and Teddy share a look. "She's surprised…so Oba didn't tell her?" Teddy questions.
Selene shakes her head. "It seems that way, but Mama told us everything."
They share another look before chasing after Chibi-Usa. As they leave, a ball of energy appears in the sky briefly.
Rubeus appears in front of the mirror and gazes down at the city with his arms crossed over his chest. "This time! This time, I will erase the Rabbits and the Silver Crystals from this world."
Green energy flickers through the mirrors as a woman laughs loudly.
Rubeus turns to look but has to cover his eyes with his arms as bright green lights are released from all of the mirrors towards the centre. A ball of energy forms and when it disappears a woman is standing there.
The woman has light green hair and light brown eyes. She is wearing a short sleeveless black dress with matching gloves and boots. She also has black earrings, an emerald necklace and an emerald bracelet. In her hand, she is holding a pink fluffy fan.
The light fully disappears, and Rubeus lowers his hand. "Esmeraude!"
Esmeraude lets out a laugh as she moves her fan in front of her face. "Long time no see, Rubeus." She walks over to him and looks at the mirror. "So, this is the twentieth-century Tokyo Juban area? It's so tiny, and it's not very pretty either. I wonder if I'll be able to manage in a place like this?"
Rubeus turns to look at her. "What do you mean by that?"
Esmeraude turns to look at him before looking away. "Oh, haven't you heard? Due to your repeated failures, you're being relieved of your duties to eliminate the Rabbits and occupy the Juban area. Starting tomorrow, I'll be in charge of those duties."
"Impossible!" Rubeus denies with his fists clenched. "Prince Demando would never give up on me!"
"Right? So, it must really be something!" She turns to look at him. "Your incompetence, that is." She looks away. "To make the normally gentle prince so angry. You lost the Four Ayakashi Sisters, you couldn't replace any of the Crystal Points with Dark Power and you haven't even located the Silver Crystals or the Rabbits!"
Rubeus clenches both of his fists and his body shakes in anger as she continues talking.
"It's a wonder that you've been able to live so comfortably until now. Apparently, our glorious clan has no need for an incompetent like you. if you think I'm lying, go check for yourself." She lets out a small laugh before moving her hand over her head. "Of course, that's if you can look the Prince straight in the face. "
Rubeus looks at her with his teeth clenched.
The mirror next to Esmeraude flashes green. "Anyway, let me handle the rest." The rest of the mirror flash green. "See ya." Bright green light leaves all of the mirrors and covers her. The light disappears and so has she.
Rubeus runs over to the centre. He stops and clenches his fists. "If I can just defeat Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia and take care of the Rabbits, I'll be able to appease the Prince's anger." He looks up. "After all, I already know where the Silver Crystals are."
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Usagi runs home as soon as school finishes. I let out a soft chuckle before rushing after her. "We're home!" We call out as Usagi opens the front door.
Mama pops out of the kitchen. "Usagi?! Selena?! Why are you in such a rush?"
Usagi doesn't answer and heads upstairs. "Gotta hurry, gotta hurry." Usagi passes Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy on the stairs. "Hi, Chibi-Usa! Selene-chan! Teddy! Hurry, hurry."
"Welcome home." Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy reply.
I pat their head gently before heading upstairs to my room while Usagi heads to hers.
I quickly change into the same outfit I wore where we went to Rei's shrine to eat yams. I head out of my room at the same time Usagi does. She is wearing her light green shirt, pink long skirt and blue jacket.
Usagi rushes down the stairs first, muttering to herself. "Or everyone will be mad at me."
We both make it to the door but Usagi looks back at Mama who has poked her head out of the kitchen again. "We're leaving!"
"Usagi, Selena, you had a test today; didn't you?" Mama questions.
"We can talk about that later! We're busy right now!" Usagi comments as she pulls me outside and closes the door.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Mama places her hands on her hips. "Oh, that Usagi!"
Chibi-Usa moves her gaze away from the front door to the stairs.
Meanwhile, the girls and four cats are already at Rei's shrine. "Over the last few days, the number of UFO sightings in the city has increased dramatically." Artemis states.
"I wonder if that somehow has something to do with our enemy?" Ami questions.
"We still don't know anything for certain, but basically, it means we absolutely can't let our guard down," Luna admits.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We rush up the shrine steps and quickly heads inside. "Sorry!" Usagi calls out as we do.
"You're late!" Rei scolds as she looks at Usagi.
"Oh, sorry, sorry." Usagi apologizes as she sits down. She lets out a gasp as she sees the cookies on the table. "Wow! These cookies look yummy! Can I have some?"
Mako-chan is wearing her usual orange turtleneck underneath a yellow long-sleeved top that goes across her shoulders and green trousers. Minako-chan is wearing an orange top with a blue ascot, purple skirt and turquoise jacket. Ami-chan is wearing a pink long-sleeved top with a light blue jumper over her shoulders and a light brown skirt. Rei is wearing a purple long-sleeved top and red trousers.
"Go ahead! I baked them in home economics class, but I made too many." Mako-chan admits.
Usagi is quick to grab some. "Then, I'll help myself! These are good! Just what I'd expect from you, Mako-chan!"
"Honestly, Usagi!" Rei scolds with a sigh before looking away. "By the way, our enemy's objective is to get Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy, right?"
"Yeah." Usagi agrees, nodding her head.
"Then, we better make sure to thoroughly guard them." Minako-chan points out.
"That's right!" Usagi agrees with her fist clenched in front of her face. "We have to protect Chibi-Usa, Selene-chan and Teddy, no matter the cost!"
~~~3rd POV~~~
Mama pours more batter into the pan before looking down at Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy with a smile on her face. "Today's snack is your favourite, pancakes!"
"Yay!" The three of them cheers.
Chibi-Usa turns to look at the plate of pancakes. "But why are you making so many?"
"Well, you never know if Shingo, Selena and Usagi might want some, too," Mama admits.
"Wow, I guess you've got a tough job, Ikuko-Mama," Chibi-Usa says causing Mama to look down at her confused. "Because you always care about Usagi onee-chan no matter what she does."
"I know." Mama agrees as she crouches down and places her hands-on Chibi-Usa's shoulder. "Do you see what I have to go through, Chibi-Usa-chan?" She lets out a laugh before standing back up and continuing to cook. "But that's the sort of thing every okaa-san in the world does."
"Every okaa-san in the world?" Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy questions.
"That's right; an okaa-san loves her children more than anyone else," Mama says softly.
"I guess that's how it is. That's amazing." Chibi-Usa praises amazed before lowering her head.
"But you know, Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan, Teddy, I love you more than anybody else in the world, too!" Mama adds.
Chibi-Usa looks up surprised before a smile appears on her face and lets out a laugh.
It isn't long before Chibi-Usa sneaks upstairs and takes Selene and Teddy with her. Chibi-Usa opens the door to Usagi's room. "Oh, boy, what a mess!" She looks on the bed and see's Usagi's brooch still attacked to her uniform top. "So, one of the legendary Silver Crystals is inside there. It's so important and she left it!"
Chibi-Usa goes into Usagi's room and heads straight to her bed. She reaches for the brooch but stops briefly before placing her hand on it. "If I take this, I can…I can help Mama and Oba." But Usagi and Oba are Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia, and they rescued us so many times. Ultimately, I should trust Usagi.
"I'm home!" Usagi calls out from downstairs causing Chibi-Usa to turn and look.
Mama pops out of the kitchen once more. "Oh, Usagi, you're home. There are pancakes for you to snack on. Where's Selena?"
"What? I don't want any. I'm already full of Mako-chan cookies. Nee-chan is waiting outside." Usagi replies.
Chibi-Usa narrows her eyes. "Ikuko-Mama worked so hard to make those pancakes! There's no way a girl like her is a legendary sailor senshi!" She pulls the brooch off Usagi top. "I'll be the one to save Mama and Oba after all!" She holds the brooch to her chest and closes her eyes.
Usagi heads up the stairs with Luna. "Oh, Usagi-chan, you have to be more responsible than that!" Luna scolds. "I can't believe you forgot your brooch!"
Usagi and Luna rush into her room. She kneels on the floor and looks at her top and lets out a gasp. "It's not here!"
"What?" Luna exclaims.
Chibi-Usa escaped via the window making Selene and Teddy come with her even though they didn't want to. Chibi-Usa continues to hold the brooch to her chest. "I hate her! I can never trust someone like her!"
With Rubeus, he is still gazing out of the mirror, searching the city. Energy appears behind him, "Wiseman?"
"It is time. One of the Silver Crystals is in the Rabbits hands." Wiseman comments.
"Is this true?!" Rubeus questions.
"The Rabbits will appear in the woods of twilight. Rubeus, head northwest!" Wiseman orders.
A smirk appears on Rubeus's face. "Very well."
With the girls, they are leaving Rei's shrine when Minako's communicator goes off. She opens it and Luna's voice appears. "Everyone, it's an emergency!"
"It seems that Chibi-Usa took my brooch!" Usagi warns as Selena heads into her room.
"Selene and Teddy aren't here either so they must be with Chibi-Usa," Selena adds softly.
Minako closes the communicator and looks up. "Let's split up and look for Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy."
"Right!" The other three agree before they run down the steps.
Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy head back to where they were this morning. Chibi-Usa clutches her hand around her key. "Please wait for me, Mama, Oba. We're coming back to the future."
Chibi-Usa lifts the key. "O guardian of time, rend the heavens and open the doorways of space-time to us!"
Nothing happens which causes Chibi-Usa to fall to her knees. "What's wrong? Why didn't anything happen? Please take us back to the future!"
Tears fall from her eyes and she begins wailing causing her crescent moon to appear which in turn causes Selene's crescent moon to appear. Their energy is released into the sky once more but stops when Chibi-Usa stops wailing.
Chibi-Usa slowly opens her eyes when a shadow appears over the three of them. They look up to see Rubeus. They let out a gasp and back away as Rubeus lets out a laugh.
The three of them pale as Rubeus looks at them with narrowed eyes. "I've finally found you, Rabbits."
The three of them continue to back away as Rubeus holds out his hand. "Die!"
Rei and Minako release their attack causing Rubeus to look up and doge out of the way.
"Chibi-Usa-chan! Selene-chan! Teddy!" Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako call out.
Rei rushes over to Chibi-Usa and lifts her. "Sailor Mars!"
Minako rushes over to Selene and Teddy and picks the pair of them up. "Sailor Venus!" The pair of them call out happily.
The smoke disappears and Rubeus is still standing there, his hand held out. "Damn! I won't let you get away!"
"Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, take Chibi-Usa-chan. Selene-chan and Teddy somewhere safe!" Ami orders. "Bubble Spray!"
Fog fills the area. "Shoot!" Rubeus curses.
Rei and Minako run off leaving Ami and Makoto behind. "Rei-chan just put me down," Chibi-Usa says breaking the silence.
"What?" Rei says surprised causing both her and Minako to come to a stop.
Rei puts Chibi-Usa down and Minako does the same to Selene and Teddy.
Chibi-Usa looks up at Rei. "I already know who you guys are."
"How?" Rei questions.
Rei stands up as Makoto and Ami catch up. "Rubeus isn't coming after us anymore," Makoto comments as they stop next to them.
"That was a close call, wasn't it, Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan, Teddy?" Ami queries.
"I'm not going to thank you because you're all Usagi's friends!" Chibi-Usa states.
"What?" They all exclaim.
Chibi-Usa turns to look at them. "You only saved me because I have Usagi's brooch, right?! You came to scold me, right?!"
"That's not true, Chibi-Usa-chan." Rei denies. "Usagi, Selena and the rest of us were worried about the three of you."
"Besides, Usagi isn't worthy of having this brooch. She's self-centered, irresponsible and spoiled!" Chibi-Usa shouts.
Rei leans down and places her hand on Chibi-Usa's shoulder. "Chibi-Usa-chan, please don't think of Usagi like that."
Chibi-Usa turns to look at her. "Rei-chan…"
Minako moves behind Chibi-Usa. "We all love Usagi-chan, you know. Especially Selena-chan."
"It's truly fun to hang out with Usagi-chan," Makoto admits.
"That's right. Usagi-chan is a very sweet girl." Ami agrees. "She's always been concerned about you, too."
Chibi-Usa clenches her eyes shut. "That's a lie! It has to be a lie!" She denies it before running off.
"Chibi-Usa-chan!" Rei calls out as Chibi-Usa crosses the road even with cars coming causing them to come to a stop.
With the girls distracted, Selene and Teddy rush over the road and quickly catch up with Chibi-Usa.
Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy run down an alleyway. I have to find a place where no one will come. Someplace with no one around!
With Rubeus, he appears in front of the same mirror and lets out a laugh. "Rabbits, no matter where you run, if you try to go back to the future, I will know right away."
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Usagi and I meet up with Rei and Ami-chan. "Did you find them?" Usagi questions.
"No luck at all," Rei admits.
"If Chibi-Usa-chan has your brooch, it means that she has your Silver Crystal, too, right?" Ami-chan questions.
"That's right." Usagi agrees.
"They are exactly what Rubeus is after. In that case, this situation is even more dangerous than before." Ami-chan points out.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Mamoru walks back to his apartment to see Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy sitting in front of his door, heads on their knees.
He looks down surprised. "Selene! Teddy! Chibi-Usa!"
Meanwhile, Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy have a shared nightmare. They are in the future city and the four sailor senshi are holding onto the three of them, running away as more explosions happen behind them.
"They're chasing us hard!" One of the senshi states.
"I don't even know how many there are! At this rate…" Another senshi trails off.
"Just a little farther…Just a little farther and we'll get Little Wolf, Little Hime and Small Lady to a safe place!" The third senshi offers.
"If only Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia were here, we wouldn't be in this situation!" The last senshi comments.
There is another explosion causing them all to fall to the ground causing them to let out a gasp.
Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy begin to stir. Tears appear in the corner of Chibi-Usa's eyes. "Everyone…"
Their eyes flicker and the three of them wake up. "Are you awake?" Mamoru questions softly.
"Oji…/ Papa…" The three of them mutter as they sit up.
They look down sadly and Chibi-Usa wipes away her tears but looks up when two red roses appear in front of them. They look to see a Tuxedo Mask doll holding them. "Please don't cry, lady. If you look sad, this rose will wilt, too. Here, please accept this rose."
Chibi-Usa takes one of the roses with a smile on her face. "Thank you."
Selene takes the other rose. "Thank you, papa."
Mamoru continues to move the Tuxedo Mask doll about. "My name is Tuxedo Mask. Did you have a bad dream or something?"
The three of them nod their heads. "Yes."
"Say, Tuxedo Mask?" Chibi-Usa asks.
"Yes, what is it?" Mamoru replies.
"Is Sailor Celestia-sama and Sailor Moon strong?" Chibi-Usa questions.
"Yeah, they're invincible especially Celestia," Mamoru says in his own voice.
"Really…" Chibi-Usa trails off as her stomach grumbles causing her to blush.
This causes the four of them to laugh. Mamoru puts down the doll. "Stay here. I'll fix you something." He stands up. "Any requests?"
"Pancakes!" The three of them say happily.
"Pancakes, huh?" Mamoru queries. "Okay." He walks towards his kitchen.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Usagi and I head over to Mamo-chan place. Usagi rings the doorbell. "Mamoru-san! Is Chibi-Usa here?!"
With my hearing, I hear Mamo-chan's footsteps followed by Chibi-Usa moving about. "Luna-P! Transformation!"
Usagi and I share a look before rushing inside. "Mamo-chan, where's Selene-chan, Teddy and Chibi-Usa?!" I ask urgently.
Mamo-chan points over the balcony. "Look like you just missed them."
We rush over to the balcony and look over to see a parachute attached to the three of them as they slowly descend to the ground.
"No way!" Usagi exclaims.
~~~3rd POV~~~
They land on the ground and the parachute disappears. Chibi-Usa gets out her key. "This time, I'll make sure to go back to the future!" She holds it above her head and pink energy appears. It surrounds the key before floating into the air.
The pink cloud and column of energy appear causing a smile to appear on Chibi-Usa's face. "Finally…Finally, I can go back to Mama and Oba."
The three of them float up inside the column when suddenly the energy goes out of control. "What's wrong?!"
They begin falling back to the ground causing the three of them to let out a scream.
Rubeus's ship appears in the sky, visible for everyone to see. "It can't be!" Ami exclaims as she sees it in the sky.
"It's gigantic!" Minako exclaims from another area.
"So that's Rubeus's…" Rei trails off as she gazes up at the sky.
"UFO?" Makoto queries from next to her.
Rubeus laughs loudly as he shines a light down on Selene, Teddy and Chibi-Usa. He appears in front of his ship outside. "Rabbits, no matter where you are, if you try to go back to the future, you will create a space-time distortion. And this ship will take me to it."
Chibi-Usa, Selene and Teddy wake up, look up and let out a gasp.
"Now, Rabbits! Are you ready to face your fate?" Rubeus taunts.
"Not so fast!" Minako states as they appear behind the children.
Rei leans down and places her hands on Chibi-Usa's shoulder, while Ami does the same with Selene and Teddy. "We won't let you take our kawaii Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy!"
Rubeus lets out a scoff. "Fine, then! I will take care of all of you along with the Rabbits!"
"Don't be ridiculous! Sparkling Wide Pressure!" Makoto calls out.
"Burning Mandala!" Rei calls out.
"Venus Love-Me Chain!" Minako calls out.
Their attacks hit Rubeus head-on causing a cloud of smoke to surround him. The smoke disappears and he isn't injured.
Ami is now holding Chibi-Usa while Selene and Teddy hiding behind her. "There's an incredibly strong barrier surrounding Rubeus!"
"Enough of this useless resistance!" Rubeus states before holding out his hand and sending energy towards them.
They are pushed back with a scream and a cloud of smoke appears around them. When the smoke disappears, Makoto and Minako are on the floor with Rei and Ami on top of the three children.
"You guys…" Chibi-Usa trails off.
Rei moves back. "Now's your chance! Hurry! Run!" Rei orders the three of them.
"I'm not going to let you do that!" Rubeus mutters before holding his hand in the air. Energy appears at the bottom of his ship and a column of dark energy heads towards them.
Chibi-Usa pales as it gets closer. "What is that?"
The column appears over all of them. "What is this?!" Makoto queries.
"My body feels so heavy!" Minako says weakly.
Ami looks up at the ship. "That UFO is emitting a tremendous amount of power!"
"To repel this, we'll have to combine all our powers!" Rei suggests.
"What?" Ami questions.
Minako lifts her head. "We're going to use Sailor Planet Power?!"
"But we don't have enough power! Not without Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia!" Ami points out.
Rei forces herself to stand up. "Even if we can't save ourselves, we should at least save Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy!"
Ami, Makoto and Minako get up and they hold hands. "We have no choice but to do it!" Makoto agrees. "Jupiter Star Power!"
"Venus Star Power!" Minako calls out.
"Mercury Star Power!" Ami calls out.
"Mars Star Power!" Rei calls out.
"Sailor Planet Power!" They all call out.
Their attack is released towards the ship. Rubeus lets out a scoff. "Fools."
"Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan, Teddy, run, quickly!" Rei orders. They stay where they are as Chibi-Usa stammers. "You idiot! Hurry up!"
Tuxedo Mask suddenly appears and holds onto the three children. "Leave Selene, Teddy and Chibi-Usa to me! You guys hurry, too!" He jumps off.
"Damn you!" Rubeus curses. "In that case…" He lowers both of his hands and releases more energy causing it to break up the senshi attack. They are pulled off the ground into the air causing them to let out a shout.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Usagi and I get to the scene to see them pulled up to the ship. "You guys!" Both Usagi and I shout out.
Mamo-chan jumps and lands next to us, the children still in his arms.
"Usagi, Selena, please look after Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy!" Rei's voice says as it appears in my mind.
The four of them are completely pulled up into the ship and they disappear inside. "You guys!" Usagi and I shout, tears in our eyes.
Rubeus laughs happily.
"Rei-chan…" Chibi-Usa trails off.
Mamo-chan kneels. "Are you okay, Selene, Teddy, Chibi-Usa?"
"Yes…" The three of them answer softly, their gaze still on the ship.
Usagi's body shakes before she lifts her hands. "Chibi-Usa!"
Chibi-Usa closes her eyes and lowers her head. I lean forward and gently take hold of Usagi's hand. Usagi looks at me and I shake my head. Tears roll down Usagi's cheeks as she looks down at Chibi-Usa. "You idiot! This is all your fault!"
We all look back up at the ship as Rubeus laughs loudly again.
