~~~Chapter Twenty-Eight~~~
~~~Previous~~~
Usagi and I get to the scene to see them pulled up to the ship. "You guys!" Both Usagi and I shout out.
Mamo-chan jumps and lands next to us, the children still in his arms.
"Usagi, Selena, please look after Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy!" Rei's voice says as it appears in my mind.
The four of them are completely pulled up into the ship and they disappear inside. "You guys!" Usagi and I shout, tears in our eyes.
Rubeus laughs happily.
"Rei-chan…" Chibi-Usa trails off.
Mamo-chan kneels. "Are you okay, Selene, Teddy, Chibi-Usa?"
"Yes…" The three of them answer softly, their gaze still on the ship.
Usagi's body shakes before she lifts her hands. "Chibi-Usa!"
Chibi-Usa closes her eyes and lowers her head. I lean forward and gently take hold of Usagi's hand. Usagi looks at me and I shake my head. Tears roll down Usagi's cheeks as she looks down at Chibi-Usa. "You idiot! This is all your fault!"
We all look back up at the ship as Rubeus laughs loudly again.

~~~Present~~~
~~~Usagi's POV~~~
Chibi-Usa stole my Silver Crystal and tried to go back to the future with Selene-chan and Teddy. At that time, Rubeus attacked! Everyone who tried to protect Chibi-Usa, Selene-chan and Teddy were taken away in Rubeus's UFO!
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We hide in the alleyway nearby before Rubeus sees any of us.
"Sailor Moon! Sailor Celestia!" Rubeus calls out. "It was quite wise of you not to show up. But after losing all the other sailor senshi I doubt there's anything you can do to me. However, I will give you time to think things over. Three hours from now, at 3:00 am, I will appear at this location once again. Make up your mind by then."
Rubeus laughs loudly before disappearing. As soon as he does, the ship hides back up into the sky behind the clouds.
We come out of the alleyway. "Everyone!" Usagi cries out as she clings to my arm.
~~~3rd POV~~~
The ship is now back above Earth. Rubeus gazes out of the mirror, at the Earth, with a smirk on his face.
A female laughs appear and the mirror light up with a bright light. Rubeus clenches his teeth before turning to look. Esmeraude appears. "Why are you acting so laid back about this, Rubeus? You should have promptly taken care of Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia and the Rabbits."
Rubeus scoffs and looks away. "You're a woman; you would never understand. I would not be satisfied if I killed those girls and the boy so easily!" He walks off.
"Really?" Esmeraude queries.
Rubeus holds out a hand and releases some energy. The room spins and below there sailor senshi are tied to a cross unconscious. "As long as I have these hostages, Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia can't do anything. And I will kill Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia slowly and painfully in front of these senshi."
"Is that so?" Esmeraude questions. "I hope everything goes according to plan. I wish you success." She laughs. The mirror next to her glows and covers her. When the light disappears she is also gone.
Rubeus lets out a scoff. "Esmeraude, I will show you what I'm capable of."
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We head back to Mamo-chan's apartment. Chibi-Usa heads outside to the roof while we stay inside. I lean next to the window and gaze up at the sky. Mamo-chan heads outside and heads up to the roof.
I close my eyes and focus on the scene happening on the roof.
Mamo-chan heads up the stairs and stops next to Chibi-Usa. "Chibi-Usa…"
Chibi-Usa looks up at him. "Oji…So, you were Tuxedo Mask."
"Yeah…Well, now you know." Mamo-chan offers.
"Nothing surprises me anymore," Chibi-Usa admits. "Because who would've thought that Usagi was Sailor Moon and Oba was Sailor Celestia?"
"I see. Chibi-Usa, did you return the Silver Crystal brooch to Usagi?" Mamo-chan asks.
Chibi-Usa nods her head. "Yes." She takes out her key. "I wonder why it didn't work?"
"If it had worked, you could have gone back to the future with the Silver Crystal, right?" Mamo-chan queries causing her to let out a gasp and looks up at him. "Chibi-Usa, let's stop keeping secrets from each other." He crouches down. "What were you going to do after you got the Silver Crystal?"
Chibi-Usa lowers her head. "My Mama and Oba…I need the Silver Crystal to save my mama and oba."
Mamo-chan kneels and places his hands on her shoulders. "Please, Chibi-Usa, tell me. Exactly what happened in the future?"
She looks away. "I don't know."
Mamo-chan shakes her shoulders. "Chibi-Usa!"
Chibi-Usa lowers her head as tears fill her eyes. "But I really don't know. I just remember that those guys suddenly showed up."
I move away from the window and sit down next to Usagi on the bed. I look at the TV as a new report comes on. "The enormous unidentified flying object which showed up in the Juban area, disappeared somewhere this evening…However, residents are concerned that this incident will affect them."
"Thirty more minutes," Artemis mutters.
"Usagi-chan, where are Mamoru-san and Chibi-Usa-chan?" Luna asks.
Usagi gazes down at her brooch. "They're on the rooftop. He's probably trying to comfort Chibi-Usa." Usagi clenches her fist around her brooch and her body begins to shake. "I can't do this anymore! I don't care if the enemy Is after her, I can't protect a girl like her anymore!"
"Usagi!" Artemis exclaims surprised.
Usagi lifts her head. "I almost want to give this Silver Crystal and Chibi-Usa to the enemy to get my friend's back." Usagi looks back down. "Besides, if she had never shown up here, this town would still be peaceful."
"Usagi! Do you seriously mean what you just said?!" Luna demands.
Usagi's body shakes. "How could I have been serious?" She lifts her head to show her teary eyes. "But I'm not grown-up enough to stay tough in this kind of situation."
"Usagi-chan…" Luna trails off.
Usagi places her hand on her forehead. "I'm sorry; I must be tired."
"I understand. We'll come up with a good plan. So, you go rest for a while." Artemis offers.
"Thanks. I'll go to the balcony and get some fresh air." Usagi says before standing up and heading outside.
I let out a sigh and follow after her. I stand next to Usagi and she clings onto her arm and rests her head against my neck. We stay in silence before Usagi lifts her head. "I guess we'll have to go there by ourselves after all. And if we bring the Silver Crystals, the enemy might lower his guard. I can't expose Chibi-Usa to any more danger."
I nod my head softly. "The same with Selene and Teddy. They are children and are supposed to be protected, not put in danger."
Tears fill Usagi's eyes. "If this had happened a while ago, I would have no problem saying 'I'm sleepy!"', 'I'm scared!' or 'I don't want to go there!"
Usagi lets go of my arm and wipe away her tears and look up at the sky. "Please wait for us, everyone. We'll be there to rescue you soon."
We share a look before peeking inside to see Luna, Artemis, Yue and Crescent discussing a plan.
"In the end, the only plan that will work is giving Rubeus a fake Silver Crystal to buy us some time," Luna admits.
"And we'll use that time to get aboard the UFO to free everyone," Artemis adds.
"But, what are we going to do about Chibi-Usa-chan, Selene-chan and Teddy?" Yue questions.
The four of them close their eyes as they begin to think of what to do. Usagi and I share another look before sneaking past the four of them silently.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Luna lets out a gasp. "Oh! How about disguising ourselves as Chibi-Usa-chan and Selene-chan?"
They think about it before sweatdropping. "I…I don't think that will work."
"I agree." Luna, Crescent and Yue agree.
Mamoru suddenly rushes into the room. "The front door is wide open! Are Tia and Usagi here?"
"What?!" They all exclaim before rushing over to the balcony.
"They're not here!" Artemis states.
"I knew it!" Mamoru says.
"Oh, no! I hope they didn't go alone to…" Luna trails off.
"Are you saying that they went by themselves to save everybody?!" Crescent exclaims.
"They just might have," Yue admits.
Chibi-Usa and Selene go pale while Teddy is still asleep. The pair of them share a look.
"That's absolutely reckless, no matter how you look at it!" Luna points out.
"They'll end up getting themselves killed!" Crescent cries.
Mamoru looks behind him and his eyes widen. "Selene? Chibi-Usa? Selene! Chibi-Usa!"
The cats run over to him. "I bet they went after Usagi and Selena." Artemis points out.
"The four of them had the same idea!" Mamoru comments. "Unbelievable! They think alike as if they were identical twins!" Mamoru runs out of his apartment with the four cats following him.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We continue running from Mamo-chan's apartment without stopping. "Moon Crystal Power Makeup!" We both call out at the same time.
As soon as we finished transforming we continue running to the planned meeting spot. I'm sorry, Mamo-chan, Crescent, Yue, Luna, Artemis. We can't drag more people into this. So, this time, we'll go alone!
We come to a stop and look up at the sky. The energy gets closer just before the ship appears once more. Rubeus laughs. "It's good of you to come, Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia and Rabbits!"
"Rabbits?!" We both exclaim.
We look behind us and our eyes widen to see Chibi-Usa and Selene standing there.
"Chibi-Usa / Selene, what are you doing here?!" We both question.
"We're going with you!" Chibi-Usa and Selene say at the same time.
"All of them were captured because of me!" Chibi-Usa adds.
"Idiot! If you come with me, we'll play right into the enemy's hands!" Usagi scolds.
I sense energy just as the same column as before surround us causing us to float above the ground. We float up and the four of us are pulled up into the ship.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Mamoru and the four cats get there just in time to see them be pulled into the ship. "Shoot!"
"It's all over." Artemis comments.
"Usagi-chan! / Selena-chan!" Luna and Crescent cry out.
Mamoru clenches his teeth as he gazes up at the sky, up at the ship.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
I hear footsteps causing me to look up to see Rubeus walking towards us. Usagi lets out a gasp before sitting up herself along with Chibi-Usa and Selene. The four of us let out another gasp when we see the four girls tied up on a cross each. "Everyone!" Usagi and I call out.
Rubeus laughs. "Welcome, Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia. Thank you for bringing two Rabbits with you."
"Rubeus!" Usagi exclaims.
Chibi-Usa grabs Luna-P and holds her to her chest while Selene grabs hold of my arm.
Usagi sits down with her legs crossed and a smile on her face. "Ha! You fell for it! They're not the Rabbits! They're our cousins, Chibi-Usa-chan and Selene!"
"What?" Rubeus demands.
"Did you really think we would hand over the Rabbits so easily?" I query.
Usagi lets out an exaggerated sigh. "What an idiot! You totally fell for it!" She points at him with a hand over her mouth.
Rubeus places his hands on his hips. "I'll take my time later finding out whether or not that's true. But before I do, I'll get rid of you!" He points at Usagi and me.
"Fair enough!" Usagi says before looking down at Chibi-Usa. "Okay, Chibi-Usa, find somewhere safe and stay there."
"Okay, I will…" Chibi-Usa agrees hesitantly.
"Selene, you too," I ordered softly.
"I will." Selene agrees, letting go of my arm.
The pair of them run off in the other direction and hide.
"Okay, let's fight!" Usagi states.
~~~3rd POV~~~
The ship slowly disappears back into the sky.
"What are we going to do?" Luna questions.
"If they go into space like that, they'll have no way to escape!" Crescent comments worriedly.
Mamoru continues gazing up at the sky, his gaze filled with worry. Tia…
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Rubeus hits Usagi away but I catch her before she lands on the ground.
"Don't think that this is all you're going to suffer." Rubeus taunts. "After all, you've put me through a number of bitter experiences."
Usagi stands up straight. "Moon Princess Halation!" Usagi calls out. He holds out his hand and a barrier of sorts surrounds him. "No way! My Moon Princess Halation..."
Suddenly, Usagi let out a surprised sound as our bodies get heavier. Usagi falls to her hands and knees. "My body feels so heavy."
I fall to one knee but I force my body to stay up straight.
Rubeus laughs. "Let me tell you what's happening. This ship can increase my power many times over! This supergravity is part of that. Incidentally, I can also reverse it. Watch."
It is suddenly reversed and Usagi let out a yell as we float up into the air. Usagi was about to bang into a post but I grab her before she does. Usagi lets out a gasp and I follow her gaze to see Earth outside the ship. "No way…"
"So you've noticed," Rubeus states causing the pair of us to look down at him. "That's right. Outside this ship is space, thousands of meters above the Earth. You no longer have anywhere to escape!"
I see movement in the corner of my eye and look to see Chibi-Usa and Selene running towards where the girls are on the crosses. As soon as the pair of them get close, they bang into a barrier causing them to let out a sound of pain and their crescent moons appear on their foreheads. Their energy is released and they fall backwards.
"Chibi-Usa / Selene!" Usagi and I shout out at the same time.
A smirk appears on Rubeus's face. "Just as I thought, they are two of the Rabbits."
The energy around Chibi-Usa and Selene goes out as they push their bodies up.
"You should stop wasting your energy!" Rubeus taunts. "They're surrounded by a high voltage shield."
Chibi-Usa and Selene get back up and run forward but hit the shield once more before dropping to the floor.
"Chibi-Usa! / Selene!" Usagi and I shout out again.
Rubeus turn back to look up at us. "Now, I think it's about time I got rid of you." He holds his hand out.
We descend back to the ground at a fast pace. Usagi hits the ground on her stomach while I land on my hands and knees.
"Grovel on the ground like a frog, and I will squash you!" Rubeus taunts as he holds out both hands.
Usagi is pushed further down while I stay on my hands and knees, using my magic and lunar energy to force my body to stay up. The ground beneath us turns into a crater as Usagi lets out a sound of pain.
"Die!" Rubeus states laughing.
I look at Usagi to see her pushing her body up. She pushes herself up. At the same time, I push myself up onto one knee.
Usagi makes it up onto one knee. "U-Unforgivable! No matter what…" Usagi stands up. "…there is no way…" She stands up straight. "I can forgive you!"
I let out a soft chuckle as I force my body to stand up straight, not straining to do so as much as Usagi is.
"I-Impossible!" Rubeus denies with wide eyes. "You can stand up in this supergravity?!"
Usagi's knees shake as she struggles to keep standing up. "Chibi-Usa is trying so hard. I can't…I'm Sailor Moon, so I can't give in either!"
"You will be punished for hurting my Selene!" I add angrily.
Rubeus lets out a scoff. "I'm afraid I underestimated you a little." The gravity is released. "This time, I will use my full power!"
"Moon Princess Halation!" Usagi and I call out at the same time.
Energy forms inside Rubeus's hand and he releases it and sends it towards us. Our attacks meet in the middle, neither side pushing away the other.
"Sailor Moon! / Sailor Celestia!" I hear Chibi-Usa and Selene call out.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Chibi-Usa looks at the glowing crystal in front of them. "This must be it. This must be the source of his power."
"It must be. It glows every time he uses it." Selene adds.
The pair of them jump up and both grab hold of it. Thunder is released when they do, causing them to let out a sound of pain.
"All of this happened because of me. It's all my fault." Chibi-Usa admits.
They share a look before getting back up. They hold onto the crystal once more and pull. The lighting appears again but they continue to pull.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
"Die, Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia!" Rubeus curses before his attack breaks through ours. It hits Usagi sending her back into me and causing us to back into the wall behind us.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Chibi-Usa and Selene continue to pull on the crystal getting Rubeus's attention. "Damn you, Rabbits! You noticed my power enhancement device!" He jumps in the air and appears above the two girls. "You were fated to die anyway! Prepare to die!"
~~~Selena's POV~~~
Usagi and I push ourselves back up. "Moon Princess Halation!" We both call out.
"What?!" Rubeus exclaims before turning to look at us. He throws our attacks away from him with his fist before turning around and places a shield in front of him to ward off the rest of our attack. "You tenacious little brats!"
"Chibi-Usa / Selene, hurry!" Usagi and I order at the same time.
"Okay!" They both agree as they go back to pulling the crystal. Their crescent moon appears and they manage to pull the crystal out but are sent flying across the room in the process.
As soon as the crystal smashes, Rubeus's shield disappears and he is sent flying past where the girls are being held. He bangs into a column causing one of his earrings to fall off and land on the floor. "D-Damn!"
Energy disappears causing mirrors and such to drop to the floor and smashes into bits. I hear gasp and I turn to see the girls waking up. The cross disappears and they land on their feet.
"Where are we?" Minako-chan questions.
"We were captured by Rubeus and…" Mako-chan trails off.
Chibi-Usa and Selene crawl over to them, injured. "Everyone, are you okay?"
Rei lets out a gasp as she leans down in front of Chibi-Usa. "Chibi-Usa-chan!"
Ami-chan leans in front of Selene. "Selene-chan!"
Usagi and I make our way over to them with tears in our eyes. "I'm glad, everyone…" We both mutter.
"Sailor Moon! Sailor Celestia!" Ami-chan exclaims.
Rubeus laughs causing us to look. "Do you think you've won?! You fools! Eventually, this ship will go out of control and explode. You will all become space dust and disappear!"
"What?!" Rei exclaims.
"If that happens, you will also…" Mako-chan points out.
Rubeus lets out another laugh. "That's right. I cannot return to the future either." He stops his foot, breaking his earring. "But I don't think it'll be too bad to die together with you."
Fire suddenly surrounds him causing him to let out a shout of pain. "Rubeus!" Usagi shouts.
Fire surrounds us with us all standing in the centre. "If we don't hurry and get out of here, we'll really end up dying with him!" Rei points out.
"But how are we going to get out of here?!" Mako-chan questions.
"There is one way to do it!" Ami-chan admits.
"What?" We exclaim.
A look of realization appears in Minako-chan's eyes. "I get it! We can use the Sailor Teleport!"
Ami-chan nods her head.
"No way!" Rei denies. "Sailor Moon and Sailor Celestia are already exhausted their energy! Besides, we also have Chibi-Usa-chan and Selene-chan!"
"I think that if we combine our powers it'll definitely be possible! It is the only thing we can try right now…" Ami-chan offers.
"I'm still okay!" Usagi says urgently.
"I am too!" I agree.
Usagi looks down at Chibi-Usa. "Chibi-Usa, you can join us, right?"
Chibi-Usa nods her head. "Yes, I'll try."
I look down at Selene and she also nods her head, her eyes determined.
"Good girl." Usagi praises. "I'll get you something nice later."
"Then, I want to have pancakes!" Chibi-Usa comments with a smile.
A smile appears on Usagi's face. "I understand."
"Then, let's get started." Ami-chan orders.
We get into a circle and hold hands with Chibi-Usa and Selene in the middle.
"Moon Crystal Power!" Usagi and I call out.
"Mercury Star Power!" Ami-chan calls out.
"Mars Star Power!" Rei calls out.
"Jupiter Star Power!" Mako-chan calls out.
"Venus Star Power!" Minako-chan calls out.
"Sailor Teleport!" We all call out.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Energy surrounds them and they disappear. As soon as they do a black figure rolls out of the fire into the centre. It is Rubeus. "Damn them!"
Esmeraude suddenly appears in front of him laughing. "You're a miserable sigh, Rubeus."
Rubeus looks up at her. "Esmeraude, you're a lifesaver." He holds up a hand. "Please take me back to the future with you! This ship will explode in two minutes."
Esmeraude looks down at him with cold eyes. "Oh, really?" She smacks his hand away with her fan.
"Huh? What?!" Rubeus questions.
"Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia, the sailor senshi and the Rabbits, too. You lost them all." She moves her fan back. "And you still want to live in disgrace? You are such a pitiful man. Our glorious clan doesn't need an incompetent man like you! I think it's time for you to disappear along with this ship." She laughs before disappearing.
Rubeus lets out a gasp and holds out his hand with wide eyes. "Esmeraude! Help me! Esmeraude!"
The ship explodes causing a large explosion taking Rubeus along with it.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We appear back on Earth and look up at the sky as it lights up with the explosion.
"We did it!" We all cheer.
Chibi-Usa turns around and points up at Usagi. "Sailor Moon, please don't forget the pancakes you promised me! And you have to make them from scratch!"
Usagi sweatdrops. "What?! I do?!" Usagi backs away.
Rei leans down with a sly look on her face. "Are you sure, Chibi-Usa-chan? Usagi's an absolutely terrible cook."
Chibi-Usa sweatdrops and turns away with her hands on her hips. "In that case, I don't want them!"
Usagi jumps behind her. "Oh, no, you don't! I already made the promise!"
We all share a laugh with smiles on our faces.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Esmeraude appears in front of a man. "Prince Demande. As expected, it seems that Rubeus was not up to the task."
"I see." Prince Demande comments. "I had thought that he was a little more capable than that. Then, Esmeraude, work hard so that you do not suffer Rubeus' fate."
Prince Demande has silver hair and purple eyes with the Black Moon mark on his forehead. He is wearing a white suit with a white crystal near the collar and a purple cape.
Esmeraude bows slightly. "Yes, your highness. You can count on me." She disappears.
Prince Demande looks in front of him and the hologram of the older Selena and Usagi appears. He lifts his glass of wine with a laugh. "I will get everything I want. Everything…"
