Christmas Eve Day, 2 years later
"El did you forget the cinnamon rolls??" Liv called, still in her pajamas and glancing in the fridge with a sigh.
"Ohhh sorry babe," he said awkwardly from behind her, already dressed. "I'll head out and get breakfast."
It was 10am, and the pair had had a lazy morning in bed while they waited for their boys to wake, but something had been off with him.
Whipping around to him, she raised a brow. "You're being weird. You have been all morning."
"No I'm not," he challenged.
"Uh, yeah you are."
"How??" He asked, crossing his arms.
"I don't know babe but you are," she rolled her eyes and he frowned, stepping forward and putting his hands on her waist, leaning his head against hers.
"I'm sorry… I'm just nervous," he whispered and she frowned, looking down.
"El's he's gonna say yes… he's asked Eli and Dickie 100 times."
"Yeah.. yeah sorry you're right," he nodded and she frowned again.
Still not fully convinced, she pecked his lips and he stood back.
"Noh, you wanna come pick up breakfast with me?" He called to the other room.
"Sure!" They they heard the little boy holler, before sprinting out to see his mom and favorite new roommate.
El, Liv, and their boys had been living together a year.
At Christmas last year, The Stablers had asked the Bensons to make it official, and this year, Elliot planned on asking Noah to allow him to start the adoption process to finally be his dad.
Annnnd, he planned on proposing to Liv in front of everyone, hence his sudden and extreme nervousness when it hit him after their early morning romp that today was the day.
"C'mon bud," he smiled down at the 10 year old, wrapping an arm around them and kissing Liv goodbye before shuffling him out to the car.
They climbed in and started the drive to their favorite bakery.
"You're being weird."
Looking down at the boy, he nodded. "I know… I uh… I wanted to talk to you over breakfast…"
"Can't we talk now? Am I in trouble?" He asked, slightly panicked and El laughed a bit.
"Not at all, bud. But I just thought we could grab some donuts and have some guy time, just the two of us."
Noah nodded slowly, giving the same skeptical look his mother had given him earlier, and sat back in his seat.
They arrived, placed their to-go order, and then grabbed a couple of donuts, a coffee for El, and a hot chocolate for Noah, and sat down.
"So…" Noah asked impatiently.
"Uh.. well buddy I… you know I love you and your mom very much. And your mom… she's the love of my life and my absolute best friend… and…" he trailed off when he noticed the grin that was slowly creeping up onto the boy's face.
The happiness radiating across the table at him made him relax, both mentally and visibly, and he sunk back in his chair with a smile.
"Noah, I want you to know that I plan on being here for you and your mom forever. And I love you both and tonight, if it's okay with you, I wanna ask your mom to marry me."
He'd barely gotten the words out when he was semi tackled by the 10 year old who squeezed him tightly.
"This is the best news ever!!! Yes!!!!"
El breathed out a laugh and grinned.
"Thank you bud… it means so much to me," he said, kissing his head.
"Oh man I'm so excited," he exclaimed, jumping back and bouncing up and down a little. "This is amazing. I can't wait! When will you do it???"
"Maybe after we give you guys your Christmas Eve gifts… what do you think?"
He gasped and nodded. "Yes!!! Does everyone know?"
"Yeah… I've been really nervous to ask you, that's why I waited so long."
Noah let out a loud laugh and nudged him. "Why would you be nervous! We love you Elliot!" He smiled, hugging him tightly again.
El melted into his hug and kissed his head a few more times. "I love you guys… cmon let's finish our food and get home before mom gets mad," he teased.
Liv and Eli were on the couch watching TV when they came back in.
"I almost starved to death," Eli said dramatically and Elliot rolled his eyes laughing.
"Sorry about the cinnamon roll fail," he said, leaning down to kiss Liv's head. She simply nodded and remained quiet as they ate.
When they were done she stood. "Okay I'm gonna shower and get ready so I can start cooking."
Both boys nodded and El followed her into their room.
"Now you're being weird…" he said, shutting their door and she sighed, stopping at the bathroom counter before turning to face him.
"If you're having second thoughts about adopting Noah I need you to tell me now before you're not 100% in and you crush him."
His jaw dropped, remaining like that before he broke into a slow smile. "That's what you think is happening in my head and why I'm being weird?"
She sniffled a bit and then nodded.
"Olivia Benson," he whispered, slowly walking towards her, grasping her hips, and lifting her onto the counter.
"That's why you think I'm weird? Cause I don't want Noah to be my son?"
Her lip quivered, and he stopped it by pressing his own firmly to them, pulling her to the edge of the counter to come flush with him in the process.
"Honey… I can't tell you why I'm nervous… but I can tell you it has nothing to do with not wanting our son. He's my everything, just like you, and I'm going to be so honored to be his daddy," he said against her lips, leaning his forehead to her's.
He watched a few tear drops fall off her cheeks and he frowned, pulling her closer to him. "Babe…"
"That's the first time you've ever called him our son," she choked out and he smiled small, giving her a gentle squeeze.
"I love him. And I love you. So much."
She nodded quickly and wrapped her legs around the back of his thighs, kissing him with a little more fire as her hands crept to his cheeks.
"We love you, Elliot."
"Good," he said, kissing her again and gently seeking entrance at her lips with his tongue.
Opening her mouth slightly, she allowed him to take control and deepen his kiss. His tongue explored her mouth and she moaned quietly as she began to gently grind against his quickly hardening cock.
"Hm…" she whispered against his lips.
"You turned on, Cap," he asked into her mouth and she nodded quickly as their lips meshed together in their most favorite dance.
"I want something from you," she mumbled against his lips as her hand slid down past his waist band.
"What's that…" he questioned dumbly.
"You… taking me from behind while I watch you," she asked softly, nodding towards the mirror.
"I can't absolutely do that," he growled as she slid down, pressed closely to his body.
Grasping her hips, he turned her quickly and she gasped, her hands flying to the counter to steady herself.
Their eyes met in the mirror as he ripped her pajama bottoms and panties down. Her breathing picked up and she moaned softly when he slowly began to thrust his hard bulge against her bare and voluptuous cheeks.
"Please don't tease me.. the boys will know if we take too long," she whispered.
Breathing out a chuckle, he quickly unbuttoned and unzipped his jeans and pulled himself free.
His hands slid sensually down her sides, over the slope of her ass, and down between her legs, encouraging them to spread.
She did as she was coached and leaned forward with her legs spread wide and pussy exposed and awaiting him.
Pushing into her, she bit her lip in an effort to hold back her screams as he ruthlessly took her, flicking at her clit while he thrusted.
After she crumbled around him and he into her, he pushed her against the bathroom door and kissed her again. "I love you, Benson. You're the most right thing I've ever done and the best decision I'd ever made. Ever."
"Besides our kids," she corrected with a smile and he nodded. "Besides our kids."
"I love you too honey," she whispered, kissing him again.
El got changed while Liv showered and got dressed, emerging before her.
The boys gave him a look. "We all better?" Eli teased.
"Yeah you done being weird?" Noah asked and El laughed.
"Yes sirs," he said, kissing their heads. "Go get dressed please?" He asked and they nodded, heading off to their room.
The family started to show up about an hour later, and Liv fawned all over the grandkids as per usual.
"Gamma Wiv," Kathleen's year and a half year old said, snuggling into her.
"Hi baby boy," she smiled kissing his cheek. "Are you excited for Santa??"
"Mhm!!" He grinned, gasping when his Uncle Dickie walked in with his wife and baby girl.
"Oh make way, make way, the princess is here!" Noah teased with a laugh, going to greet them with Mo's boys and Eli.
All of the boys were obsessed with the only baby girl in the family, especially her grandpa.
"Move," El said, only half joking, playfully pushing them away.
"Come see grandpa," he cooed, carefully unhooking the 2 month old's car seat straps and lifting her.
"What a sucker," Kathleen laughed.
"He always has been!" Mo smiled and Liz shook her head. "Are you kidding? We couldn't get away with anything, and neither can the boys. This one though???" She said with a smile, pointing to her baby niece. "Watch out world."
Liv couldn't help but laugh. "Ain't that the truth," she said, moving to greet the big kids and give them sweet hugs and kisses.
"Okay," Mo said, "Daddy, Liv, you guys are exchanging gifts with us tonight and I don't care what you say."
"The oldest has spoken!" Dickie said with a laugh and Liv smiled. "I mean technically your father is the oldest…"
"Oh that's cruel," he said with a laugh, kissing her cheek.
They sat together to eat, and laughing and passing their baby granddaughter between them.
Noah shot Liv a nervous smile a few times and he was answered with an encouraging nod from her and a nudge from Eli each time.
When dinner was over, they kids cleaned up while Liv and El entertained the little ones in the living room.
"Pwetty, gamma," Hayden said about the tree, laying his head against her shoulder.
"Thank you baby… grandpa did a good job as helping me out didn't he?" She asked, swaying with him gently.
"Mhm… wotta pwesents," he nodded and she laughed. "Guess how many are for you?" She asked and he giggled.
"A wot?"
"So much… and why's that?"
He giggled louder. "Cause gampa is a sucka."
"Exactly!" Came Kathleen's response from behind them with a laugh.
"I'm not that bad!" He smiled and the rest of the kids who had just come in cracked up.
"You're the worst now, dad." Eli said.
"Yeah he's getting soft," Noah said, sitting beside him and looking up with a smile.
"You shush," he teased the youngest, kissing his head.
"Okay how are we doing these gifts? Family by family?"
"I think that's a good idea," El piped up before Liv got the chance to answer.
She raised a brow at him and he winked.
They exchanged gifts, and Noah got a little more antsy as the giving went on.
When the kids finished and it was the Stabler's turn, Eli got up before his dad did.
"Hey we wanna give you guys your stuff first- that cool?"
El and Liv nodded slowly, eyeing one another suspiciously.
"What have you all got planned," Liv, who was tucked in the crook of El's arm, whispered.
"I don't know… what do you all have planned?" He asked with a sly smile, getting lost in her eyes for a few moments.
"Ahem," Eli said with a chuckle, handing live a wrapped box with a note attached to it.
"Thank you baby… should I read this now?" She asked and he nodded, sitting beside her.
"Nah… later," he smiled small and she beamed, opening the photo of her, Eli, and Noah at a school function earlier in the year.
"Heard you talking about wanting a picture of the three of us, so I figured," he trailed off with a laugh as she pulled him in and kissed his cheek several times. "I love it. Thank you honey."
"You're welcome, love you Liv," he smiled, leaning into her.
He had recently started telling her he loved her, and it made her heart explode every time.
Noah was bouncing beside Elliot, still a bundle of nerves.
Putting a large hand on his head to steady him, he smiled small. "Hey… whatever it is? I'll love it because I love you." He said softly and he nodded, handing the box over to him.
He opened it and grinned, his blue eyes sparkling with tears as he looked down at him. "Noah…" he said softly, setting the photo in a frame adorned with "dad and me" down beside him, and pulling him into his arms.
"Y-you like it… that's okay?" He whispered into his chest and he nodded quickly, hugging him tighter and kissing his head.
"That's the best. I love it Noah… and you know, bud, I think we had a similar idea," El said, his eyes filled to the brim with tears.
Liv got up and handed them the present from Elliot to Noah.
"Open it," he encouraged and Noah just grinned, ripping open the paper and gasping.
"If it's okay with you…" El began as Noah started crying, "I wanna start the process of making you a Stabler, and legally my son."
The chatter in the room had been replaced with sniffles, and Noah nodded quickly. "That would be the best," he managed to choke out before giving him another squeeze.
"I love you son," El whispered and Noah beamed, looking at his mom over his new dad's shoulder.
"I love you dad," he said and everyone cheered wildly, laughing and grinning.
"Our turn," Liv smiled at El, handing the boys each small boxes.
They opened them and gasped. Inside were gold Yankees pendants to go on their cross necklaces.
"These are awesome," Noah said and Eli nodded. "Thank you guys so much…" he smiled.
"Turn them around," El said and they did, grinning bigger.
Both were inscribed with Stabler and the year, along with "Love, Liv & Dad" and "Love, Mom & Dad."
"These are awesome thank you," Noah said hugging them and Eli followed suite.
"Thank you guys," he smiled hugging them.
"Okay Liv and Dad are next," Kathleen said, smiling.
They nodded, still eying one another suspiciously. Liv got up and stood looking for her gift for Elliot.
"El did you reorganize the gifts," she sighed laughing and looking back at him.
"Yeah I forgot we were doing this tonight so I wanted to bring all the kids stuff to the front," he said, moving behind her and resting his hands on her hips.
"Jesus," she chuckled, leaning back into him for a moment as her eyes searched. "There it is."
She bent over to get his gift that he'd placed behind the tree, before standing up, turning, and gasping.
Down on one knee, holding a black velvet box, and looking up at her with the stupidest grin she'd ever seen was Elliot Stabler.
Her partner.
Her best friend.
Tears rushed to her eyes as he took her hands with his free one.
"Two years ago, I asked my friend Olivia to come for a Christmas family get together. Neither of us knew it would be the start of something this beautiful, but fate is a crazy thing. Last Christmas, I asked my girlfriend Olivia and her amazing son to move in with us. And this Christmas, I asked her son to officially be mine, too. Tonight there's one last question I need to ask," he said with a smile, "and that's if my friend Olivia- my very best friend and partner for life, will become my fiancé Olivia."
She was sniffling and nodded quickly as he released her hands to open the box in his other one.
"Olivia Benson. Will you marry me?"
Sinking to her knees, she wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him slowly through her tears as their family cheered around them.
Pulling back ever so slightly, she rested her forehead against his and allowed a tearful grin to spread across her face.
"Yes."
