~~~Chapter Thirty-Four~~~
~~~Previous~~~
"The only way to stop the animals is to stop Dogba's control." I point out.
"Sparkling Wide Pressure!" Mako-chan calls out.
"Burning Mandala!" Rei calls out.
The attacks join and cause a large column of energy. The animals all back away until they are backed against the large tree, the dogs whining.
"Shine Aqua Illusion!" Ami-chan calls out.
Ice forms around the tree to create an ice wall, keeping the animals trapped inside. Ami-chan holds up a finger with a smile on her face. "Please stay quiet for a while."
Usagi grabs Ami-chan's hands and jumps up and down. "You did it! You did it! You did it! You did it! You did it! You did it! Yeah!" She cheers. She stops jumping up and down and pats Ami-chan's shoulder. "You're the best, Sailor Mercury! You saved us!"
"Hey, Sailor Moon! you still have something to do!" Rei scolds.
Usagi turns away with a smile on her face, eyes closed and holding out a finger. "Don't worry. It'll be a piece of cake!"
Dogba lets out a yell and flings out her hand. "Dogba! She releases energy rings. I sense them and dodge out of the way but Usagi and the others don't. The rings go around their neck and form a collar. "Dogba!" She pulls the chains and the girls fall forwards and land on the ground.
Rei lifts her head. "We let out guard down. Apart from Sailor Celestia that is."
"Unless we do something, she'll get all six of us," Mako-chan comments as she looks up.
I hear the bushes rustle and look to see Artemis jump from them. "Artemis!" Luna, Crescent and Yue call out.
Artemis rushes towards Dogba and scratches her face. "Meow!"
"Moon Slash!" I release my attack and cut the chain and slowly the collar around the girl's neck disappears.
Dogba grabs hold of Artemis and throws him to the ground.
"Usagi, get up," I order softly.
"Okay!" Usagi agrees.
"Moon Princess Halation!" We both call out at the same time.
"Dogba!" Our attacks hit her and she turns to dust.
We surround the animals around the tree. I sense someone presence and see Esmeraude around the corner and watch a dog pee on her boot. Esmeraude disappears scaring the dog causing it to run off.
Minako-chan has a green bird on her head and a red bird on her shoulder while she stroke the black kitten in Usagi's arms. Usagi also has the green kitten on her shoulder and the two white kittens in her arms along with the black one. "They're adorable!"
"I can't believe these kittens attacked us just a while ago." Minako-chan comments.
Ami-chan, Rei and Mako-chan are surrounding one of the dogs. Ami-chan is stroking its head. "You look like a teacher at my cram school." She lets out a giggle.
"He also looks like my oji-chan," Rei adds.
"He's also like the oji-chan of my senior at school who broke my heart." Mako-chan states. Rei looks at her sweatdrops with blank eyes.
I let out a soft chuckle as I stroke the orange cat napping in my lap. I look to the left to see Artemis and Luna sitting on one wooden bench with Crescent and Yue curled up together on the one next to theirs.
"Oh, Artemis, you're so dumb." Luna teases. "But this time, you did pretty well."
"Once I catch them in my dragnet, the enemy's tactics are like child play." Artemis boasts.
Luna looks at him with knowing eyes. "I got the feeling you might have caught her by accident."
Artemis sweatdrops and doesn't say anything.
Just then, Chibi-Usa comes running through the gates. "Why did you leave me behind?! Sheesh!" She was swinging her bag and she lets it go and it flies in the air and lands on Artemis. Artemis lets out a yell and lands on the ground, face first.
"You're so dumb!" They call say at the same time. I let out a soft chuckle as Selene and Teddy sit next to me and stroke the sleeping cat in my lap. Relaxing days like these are important memories, even the stupid ones.
~~~Present~~~
~~~3rd POV~~~
In Esmeraude's garden, Esmeraude is lying in a bath filled with jasmine flowers. She lifts a leg in the air and moves her hands downwards. "This body is so beautiful." She lowers her leg and places it back in the water. "Prince Demande love jasmine flowers. So, I shall also try perfuming my body with the scent of jasmine."
Saphir suddenly appears at the end of her bath. "Esmeraude, how easygoing of you."
Esmeraude places her arms over her breasts. "Oh, Saphir! It is rude to peep at a woman taking a bath."
"What are you saying?!" He demands. "Right now, we must complete the Dark Gate as soon as possible, and send in the Evil Black Crystal's power to destroy the Juban area in Tokyo in one fell swoop!" He lowers his clenched fist. "It is outrageous of you to be taking a bath now, Esmeraude."
She laughs loudly briefly before stopping. "Even while I am taking a bath, my operations are being carried out. I don't need you to warn me."
"What?!" Saphir says with narrowed eyes.
"The new Negative Point is at Eisai Cram School in the Juban area." Esmeraude comments.
At the same cram school, Esmeraude appears on the roof wearing her bathrobe. She lifts her fan and her Dark Henge appears. Dark Power is released and makes its way inside the building. The students who are studying suddenly let out sounds of pain.
On the roof, Esmeraude holds out her hand in front of her. "Droid Giwaku, come forth!"
A shadow forms and Giwaku appears. "Giwaku!" She has pink hair with antennas on her head and eyes. she is wearing green long gloves, bra and bikini set and long green thigh boots.
Esmeraude laughs loudly before stopping. "Behold, little by little, the Dark Power becomes stronger. The Dark Henge should be grown by tomorrow evening. Until then, protect this point." She orders.
"Giwaku!" She closes her eyes and bows her head.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
At school, when Usagi's sees out exam results she lets out a loud yell. "Ami-chan, Nee-chan, you're great. You're great! You both got the top test score in the grade again!"
"Mizuno-san, Selena-chan, you really are a genius." Naru-chan praises.
"It's nothing like that." Ami-chan denies. "The tests just happened to cover the parts that I studied."
"Having my memory helps me with my tests," I add.
Just then, a group of girls behind us starts to bad mouth Ami-chan. "It must be nice for Mizuno-san to be number one all the time."
"After all, she studied really hard, right?"
"She should be careful so people won't call her a nerd."
Ami-chan looks down with a sad look on her face.
"They're So mean." Naru-chan scolds.
Usagi glares at them briefly before walking over to Ami-chan and holding up a hand. "I guess it's not easy being good at school."
"Ami-chan, ignore them. They are just jealous." I encourage softly.
Ami-chan looks up with a small smile on her face. "Thank you, but I'm already used to it."
Usagi lets out a low sigh. "Used to it, huh?" She sweatdrops. "In my case, I'm used to getting bad grades."
"I found this cheat sheet in Mizuno-san's desk." A male voice suddenly says.
"What?!" Usagi, Ami-chan, Naru-chan and I exclaim as we turn to look.
We see Umino is the one holding the so-called cheat sheet. A group of students surround him and start bad mouthing Ami-chan again.
"Mizuno-san cheated on this round of tests."
"That horrible!"
"The reason she's been number one all this time is probably that she's been cheating," Umino states.
Usagi, Naru-chan and I glare at them.
"Besides, she's always hanging out with Selena, Usagi and her friends. I always thought there was no way she should be getting such good grades."
"That's right! You only have to look at Usagi's scores to know how true that is!"
Usagi blushes and sweatdrops.
"Hey, Tsukino. You guys hang out together all the time, right? It's weird that Mizuno always gets good grades while Tsukino's grades are always close to the bottom." A male states.
"There's nothing weird about it! Ami-chan is really smart." Usagi points out angrily.
"That's right! You guys are the ones who're being weird!" Naru-chan adds worriedly. "Umino, you're not acting like yourself today!"
"You're going to side with a dishonest cheater?!" Umino demands.
"That's enough!" I shout causing them to back away surprised. "Are you forgetting that Ami-chan was getting first place before she even become friends with Usagi and me? And also, are you forgetting that I am always joint 1st place along with Ami-chan?!"
Mako-chan suddenly runs towards us. "Stop this!"
"Hey, Kino, are you going to side with cheater Mizuno, too?!" A boy demands.
He grabs hold of her uniform. She narrows her eyes and flips the three boys over her shoulder and they lie on the floor. "You are strong!" Naru-chan praises.
Ami-chan walks behind Mako-chan. "Mako-chan, please stop this violence!"
Mako-chan looks at Ami-chan surprised.
"Those boys were the ones who resorted to violence first!" Usagi points out.
Mako-chan points down at the boys. "These guys are bad-mouthing you, saying that you cheated!"
Ami-chan looks back with a smile on her face. "It's okay, because I know I'm innocent."
"Ami-chan, I believe you!" Usagi says determinedly.
"Yeah!" Naru-chan agrees, nodding her head.
"I know you didn't cheat," I add softly.
"Thank you." Ami-chan lifts her clenched fist. "But never mind that I'm a lot more frustrated that I didn't get a perfect score because I got one wrong answer."
Usagi and Naru-chan fall slightly in disbelief as they sweatdrop.
~~~After School~~~
Usagi, Ami-chan, Mako-chan and I leave school together. "I can't forgive Umino and those guys for bad-mouthing you, Ami-chan," Mako-chan admits.
"Even those other boys don't usually say bad things about other people," Usagi states confused.
"No of them have ever bad-mouthed you about your grades before either," I add thoughtfully.
"They're all students of Eisai Cram School." Mako-chan comments.
Chibi-Usa runs and stops next to Mako-chan. "Hey, hey, is it true that Ami-chan cheated on the tests?"
Selene and Teddy walk up to me and look up at me confused.
"Huh?" Usagi looks at Chibi-Usa surprised.
"We just heard it from a boy wearing thick glasses." Selene states.
"Umino," Teddy adds.
I hear Ami-chan let out a low gasp while Usagi gets a tick mark on the side of her head. "How dare he?!" She flings her arms about. "I'm gonna totally kick his butt!"
Mako-chan clenches her fists. "I'll twist his body up and use him as a cleaning rag!"
"Honestly, that Umino!" I say angrily.
"Usagi-chan, Mako-chan, Selena-chan, it's okay. At least, the three of you believe me." She smiles at us, though it is sad. "That's enough for me."
"I'll always believe you Ami-chan. We're friends, no family after all." I comment with a soft smile on my face.
Ami-chan smiles back before she runs off in the other direction. Mako-chan breaks the silence surrounding us. "It looks like Ami-chan's pretty shook up."
"I feel sorry for Ami-chan," Usagi admits sadly.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Ami walks past three over students and they start bad-mouthing her again. "it's the cheater, Mizuno."
"So, she's the cheater, who got good grades by being sneaky."
"She's such a cheater."
Ami clenches her eyes shut and runs forward. She hides in an alleyway and leans against the wall. She crouches with her hands over her ears. "They're horrible…Horrible…"
The word that Usagi and Selena said appears in her mind. She lowers her hands and lifts her head. "Usagi-chan…Selena-chan…"
She stands up and pick up her back and begins to leave the alleyway. Her eyes widen when she sees the flyer on the post in front of her. A flyer about the Eisai Cram School and how the rate of passing university entrance exams is 100%.
Makoto's words about those who were bad-mouthing her and going to the same cram school appear in her mind. The people who started bad-mouthing me are all students at Eisai Cram School.
Ami heads to the cram school and enters the classroom. Her eyes widen as she looks inside. "What is this Dark Power?!" Her eyes clenched shut as she places a hand on her chest and finds it a little hard to breathe.
Giwaku appears floating outside the window and peers into the classroom.
"Mercury Star Power Makeup!" Ami calls out.
"What? So, that girl is one of the sailor senshi." Giwaku comments as she sees Ami transform.
Ami looks around. "Where are you?! You're one of Esmeraude's conspirators, aren't you?! where are you hiding?!"
Ami gets out her computer. "Everyone, come to Eisai Cram School! There's Dark Power swirling around the entire place!"
"What?! Dark Power at Eisai Cram School?!" Usagi exclaims surprised.
"That might explain the students change in character," Selena adds thoughtfully.
"Let's hurry Usagi-chan, Selena-chan!" Luna orders.
"Yeah!" Usagi and Selena agree. All of them rush towards the cram school.
Back with Ami, Giwaku is still peering at her from outside the window. "I'll kill her!" She has copies of herself appear. She holds out her hands in front of her and the copies appear in front of Ami, inside the classroom. Ami lets out a gasp and they all lunge towards her. "Giwaku!"
"Bubble Spray Freezing!" Ami calls out.
Ice encases the copies before they disappear. "Damn it! Impertinent girl!" Giwaku curses. She does the same actions and more copies appear beside her. The copies appear on the left of Ami.
Ami's eyes widen. "What is this?!"
"Giwaku!" The copies lunge towards her.
"Double Bubble Spray Freezing!"
Again the copies are encased in ice before disappearing. More copies appear in front of Ami. Ami narrows her eyes. I get it! These are copies! I have to find the real one somehow and kill her.
Outside the window, Giwaku peers inside with a glare on her face and a clenched fist. "Damn that Sailor Mercury. She is tougher than I thought." A smirk appears on her face. "In that case, I'll let you kill your own friends, Giwaku."
Inside, the copies disappear. Ami's eyes widen. "They disappeared. What on earth is going on?!"
Giwaku laughs lowly from outside. "Sailor Mercury, I'll make you kill the sailor senshi with your own hands. Sailor senshi, hurry up and get here." Her antennas bounce as she laughs lowly once more.
Rei, Makoto, Minako and Artemis get to the cram school and they run inside. They stop at the classroom door. Artemis lets out a gasp. "What incredible power!"
Ami turns her head to look at them. "Be careful! The enemy should be nearby."
Makoto looks around. "What the hell is going on?"
"It seems the enemy started a new operation here at Eisai Cram School. Umino and the rest of the boys must have started acting weird because they were exposed to the Dark Power!" Ami points out.
"So, that's what it was about!" Makoto acknowledges.
"That's unforgivable!" Rei agrees angrily.
Outside Giwaku watch as they appear. "So, the sailor senshi have finally shown up. It looks like two is missing, but I'll make Mercury kill them. Illusion Giwaku!" Her antennae unravel and the tips glow with energy.
The energy is sent towards Ami causing her to move back with a gasp. "Mercury!" Minako calls out.
Ami looks at them before she turns her body fully and looks at them with a hand on her chest. The illusion is beginning to affect her.
Rei points at her. "Oh, my, what is this? What is this? Sailor Mercury, now that I take a good look at your combat costume, it doesn't look good on you at all."
Ami let out a strained laugh. "What's wrong all of a sudden?"
Makoto looks at her with her arms folded across her chest. "It's because you study all the time. That's why you don't have time to develop your fashion sense."
Ami lets out another strained laugh. "You too, Jupiter?"
Minako points out her with an angry scowl on her face. "Besides, you're always bragging about your good grades! I hate that!"
"I've never bragged about my good grades. But if I made everyone feel that way, I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize so meekly and play the goody-two-shoes!" Rei scolds.
Ami clenches her fist before she closes her eyes and places her hands over her ears. This is a lie. There's no way everyone would speak so ill of me.
"Hate those who bad-mouth you and crush them!" Giwaku orders.
The real Rei looks at Ami worried. "Sailor Mercury, don't lose yourself!"
Makoto takes a step forward with her hand held out.
Ami opens her eyes and is still caught inside the illusion. The fake Rei, Makoto and Minako are slowly walking towards her with scowls on their faces. "Mercury, you're a cheater!" Rei accuses angrily.
Just then, Selena, Usagi, Selene, Chibi-Usa and Luna make it outside the cram school. They come to the gates and come to a stop. Usagi looks up and lets out a gasp. "Oh, a Dark Henge!"
"It has gotten to be so big!" Selena adds with narrowed eyes.
"There's a Droid!" Luna points out.
"Selene, Chibi-Usa, stay here and stay out of view alright?" Selena orders.
The pair of them nods their heads hesitantly before hiding against the wall, out of view.
Usagi and Selena share a look before nodding their heads. "Moon Crystal Power Makeup!"
Giwaku is still outside the window. "Now, Sailor Mercury, kill those who are bad-mouthing you, Giwaku!"
Hold it right there!" Usagi calls out.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
The Droid turns to look at us. "What?! You're…"
"For Love and Justice, the pretty sailor suited senshi, Sailor Moon! / Sailor Celestia!" Usagi and I call out at the same time.
The Droid lets out a scoff. "So, the fifth and sixth one's finally shown up."
"Building up Dark Power at a cram school…" Usagi starts.
"…making students spread malicious gossip and planning ill will," I add.
"I can't forgive something like that" Usagi finishes with a clenched fist.
"In the name of the moon, we'll punish you!" Usagi and I say at the same time.
"Impudent girls! Auditory Hallucination Giwaku!" Her antenna unravels and the tips glow green.
"Sailor Moon, Sailor Celestia, watch out!" Luna warns.
She sends energy towards us. I move my hand in front of me and my eyes flash and I throw my hand to the side. The energy is sent back towards Giwaku. She moves out of the way and it hits the building behind her causing a small explosion. "Impossible!"
I lower my hand. "I am immune to any type of illusion so don't bother trying again as I'll send it right back at you."
"Then, how about this?!" She bends her legs and crosses her arms across her chest before straightening her legs and moving her arms out to the side. Copies of her appear next to her. She lifts her arms slightly before holding them out in front of her. The copies of her disappear before surrounding us.
I sense movement behind us and turn and pull Usagi out of the way and Giwaku goes by us. Usagi trips at the same time and lands on her face. She lifts her face which is red. "That hurts…"
"Sailor Moon! Sailor Celestia!" Luna calls out.
We look up to see Giwaku heading towards us again, with her leg out in front of her. A rose flies by her leg and she dodges back. Usagi and I look to the side. "Tuxedo Mask-sama!/ Tuxedo Mask!" We call out at the same time.
"A cram school is where students study to prepare for high school entrance exams. How dare you plant a Dark Henge and toy with the innocent minds of youths. Evil Droid, you are unforgivable! I, Tuxedo Mask, am your opponent!"
"Damn it! Don't get in my way!" She curses. "Giwaku!" Copies of her appear around Mamo-chan and he hits one away with his cane. One appears behind him and kicks him in the back pushing him forward giving another copy a chance to punch him in the face. He is kicked in the back once more and he is pushed off the side of the building. "Giwaku!"
Mamo-chan lands on the ground. I help Usagi up before I run over to him. "Tuxedo Mask!"
Usagi runs after me. "Tuxedo Mask-sama!"
We look back at Giwaku. "Watch closely as Sailor Mercury kills her own friends." She turns back to the window. "Illusion Giwaku, Power Up!" Her antenna unravel and glows.
~~~3rd POV~~~
Energy is sent towards Ami again. Ami lets out a surprised sound. "Mercury!" Makoto calls out worried.
"What's the matter?" Minako questions.
Ami looks back up to see Makoto pointing at her. "Sailor Mercury, no, Ami Mizuno! You cheated on the tests!"
Ami lets out a soft gasp as she pales.
Minako points her finger at her. "The truth is that you cheated!"
"I know you did!" Rei adds angrily.
Ami covers her ears with her hands once more.
The real Minako takes a step forward. "Mercury!"
"Be strong!" Rei encourages.
"Are you okay?" Makoto queries.
"You cheated on the tests!" The fake Makoto repeats.
"You're so dirty!" The fake Rei insults.
"Cheating! How could you, Mercury?!" The fake Mercury accuses angrily.
"You did, didn't you? Why don't you just come clean?" The fake Makoto demands.
"It's so cheap!" The fake Minako adds.
"How could you cheat?!" The fake Rei demands.
"Why don't you just admit it?! Mercury, you're not playing fair!" The fake Minako complains.
"It's because you do such cheap things that…" The fake Rei trails off as Ami pushes through them, "No!" Ami breaths heavily before turning back to look at them.
Rei opens the window before going out of it. "What's going on here?"
Minako comes out next. "Mercury, calm down."
Makoto jumps out after them. "She's being controlled by someone."
Artemis jumps out last. Ami walks over to the window. Once again she is still locked in the illusion as the voices in her head overlap. "If you think you're always right, you are so wrong!"
"You're really such a cheater!"
The smiling face of Minako appears in her mind.
"Always playing the goody-two-shoes!"
"You're such a liar!"
"Liar!"
The smiling face of Makoto appears in her mind.
"Quit being so goody-goody!"
The smiling face of Rei appears in her mind.
"Why don't you just come out and say it?!"
"You're playing dirty!"
The smiling face of Usagi appears in her mind. Followed by Usagi's face, Selena's face appears along with her words from earlier, about them being family and how she would always believe her.
~~~Selena's POV~~~
"Sailor Mercury, hate those who are bad-mouthing you! kill those bad-mouthing you with your own hands!" Giwaku orders.
Ami-chan jumps out of the window and looks at us, her face pale.
"It's fun watching friends killing friends, Giwaku." She laughs.
Ami-chan places her hands over her chest.
"Oh, that pose is…" Rei trails off.
"Is she planning on using the Shine Aqua Illusion?" Minako queries.
"Mercury, stay focused." Artemis encourages.
"Don't be confused by the illusion," Luna warns.
Usagi moves towards her. "Mercury! Stop!" Ami-chan pushes Usagi away and I catch her and pull her back to my side.
Ami-chan lifts her hands.
"Don't attack everyone!" Artemis shouts.
"Please!" Chibi-Usa and Selene plead.
"No way! Sailor Mercury would never attack us! No way!" Usagi denies without hesitation. "I believe in you!"
I nod my head. "It will be fine. Mercury isn't that weak to be deceived by a fake illusion."
Giwaku lands on the ground. Ami-chan looks around with her eyes. "Now, Sailor Mercury, kill all of your friends, Giwaku!"
Ami-chan takes a step forward.
"Don't forgive your friends who are bad-mouthing you!" Giwaku states.
Ami-chan opens her eyes and looks at her. "You're the one I can't forgive!"
"What?!" Giwaku exclaims surprised.
"Shine Aqua Illusion!" Ami-chan calls out.
The attack hits Giwaku's face. It freezes her antenna and they shatter into pieces. Her arms are encased together but she pulls them apart, shattering the ice holding them in place. "Why you! Why weren't you taken in by my auditory and visual illusions?!"
"You couldn't possibly understand how our hearts are bound to one another by trust!" Ami-chan shouts.
A smile appears on all of our faces and I let out a soft chuckle. "Mercury…" Usagi and I trail off.
"Damn!" Giwaku curses.
"Now, Sailor Moon! Sailor Celestia!" Ami-chan orders.
"Yes." Usagi and I nod our heads.
"Moon Princess Halation!" We both call out.
Our attacks hit and she turns into dust just like the others. The copies disappear and the Dark Henge begins to shrink and the Dark Power is released and disappears.
Mamo-chan stands up. "It seems you managed to stop the enemy's operation again today. As always, the friendship among you girls is insignificant. Goodbye." He jumps off.
~~~3rd POV~~~
~~~With Esmeraude~~~
Esmeraude is back inside her bath. "Giwaku failed?!"
"That is why I warned you not to be lazily taking a bath." Saphir points out.
Esmeraude laughs loudly briefly before stopping. "I'll find a new Negative Point soon enough. Saphir, there is only one person who is allowed to look at me when I am bathing. Go away!" She flings out an arm in front of her, sending water towards him.
He disappears and she laughs loudly once more. She stops and splashes her fist in the water. "Damn it! Next time, I will not fail!"
~~~Selena's POV~~~
We all undo our transformations and stand in front of Ami-chan. "Ami-chan, thank you for not being deceived by the bad-mouthing illusion." Usagi comments.
"Not at all." Ami-chan denies. "Same to you, too. You believed that I would never cheat. Because no matter what happens, we are bound by trust."
"Ami-chan!" Usagi and I say at the same time.
Just then, Umino and the others head towards us. "Oh, everyone! What are you doing here?" Umino queries.
"Hey, Mizuno-san, it's amazing that you got the highest score on the latest tests again!" A boy praises.
"Hey, can you teach us how to study, too?" A girl asks.
Ami-chan lowers her head slightly with a blush on her cheeks. "Well, there is no 'how to'. I just study really hard."
Usagi looks at them sweatdropping. "What's with them?! After spreading nasty rumours that Ami-chan cheated…"
"Usagi, it wasn't their fault," I comment.
Mako-chan nods her head. "All the people at the cram school were corrupted by the Dark Power."
"That's right. The one you should hate is the enemy." Rei points out.
Usagi nods her head and places her hands on her hips. Umino suddenly appears in front of her with a finger in the air. "Usagi-san, why don't you come study together with us?"
Usagi backs away slightly sweatdropping. "What?!" Usagi waves her arms about. "Uh…No! I hate studying!" Usagi runs away. "No, no. no! No, no! No way!"
