Chapter 43 : Tenth Strongest Demonic Beast

"I'll get back at you next time!"
After being pointed like that by a crying Himeragi, the little fairy princess leaves by flying out of her abode. Along with her are the fairies who are at her faction and also the heroes that she have chosen on the recent Army Ceremony Festival.
"Fufufu, your one hundred eons too early to defeat me!~" That was Doris who replied to her as Himeragu's group were leaving.
"Mukiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Himeragi bit her lips in irritation as she flies out in anger.
"Wait Your Highness!"
The other fairies also flies along with her while her heroes followed using their enhanced agility thanks to their armaments.
After they left, Doris just stayed on her throne with the fairies cleaning up the place while her own heroes recuperate on the quarters specifically made for them.
"How fun, this game that we are playing..." She said to herself as she recalls about the day she personally resurrected her current favorite playmate, Himeragi.
After running away from Alfheim and getting to Earth, Doris and her entourage of fairies looks for a place that they can use as their playground.
Though they tried to settle on the first place that they found, they were quickly hunted down by a group calling themselves as the Fairy Hunters. This causes them to find another place where they won't be find out by these group.
So they go around the world, searching for a place to make as their home. Along the way, they played with any unsuspecting humans on their way.
Though, they lost some of her friends because of the many greedy mages and other factions that wanted a fairy or their body parts for their own gain.
After several years of drifting off from one place to another, they settled off to Tanegashima.
The fairies sees Doris as a some sort of leader because she was always the one who is leading them all.
Fairies are inherently childish. So they mostly rely on those who acts more mature than them.
Doris was the only one who thinks, unlike them who just wanted to have fun with their own ideas of playing.
So because Doris always takes the lead and make sure that none of them gets hurt, her entourage just trusted her to do whatever.
And Doris preferred it that way. She doesn't want to be the lone fairy in this world, seeing as this world is pretty dangerous for them.
She was even surprise that there are many powerful beings in this world. She thought she will be the one of the strongest beings here, but after being hunted down repeatedly by the humans that she looks down upon, she have changed her perception for a bit and saw them as a threat.
She still thinks these type of humans are very rare so she still looks down upon the majority of the humankind.
Anyway, when she got to Tanegashima, she was planning to stay here for awhile before going to another place to settle on. Tanegashima doesn't have any concentration points of Mana so it was not a good place for them to settle on.
But it all changes when her eyes settled upon a girl. This girl was none other than Kinsaku Himeragi.
It was one time. It seems like Himeragi was in a field trip to see the sights of Tanegashima along with her class. She was sitting alone below the tree's shade as her class was doing whatever they want to do.
If it was just a normal human girl, Doris would have ignored her. But she saw something interesting on the girl, specifically on her soul.
Fairies are semi-corporeal, meaning they are also part spirits. So they can look through the spirits even if those people are among the living.
Souls can also be considered as a blueprint for th existence of that person. Without a soul, the person will be nothing other than an empty shell of themselves. They are still alive, but they will act like a robot who can only be prompted and move according to whatever is happening. Just like a program.
Being a blueprint for their existence, it is possible to learn who or what is that person based on the structure of their soul to those who can see it clearly.
Human mages or spirit seers, even the talented ones, will have a hard time seeing through the soul of one person. Even if they can see it, they also need to have an in-depth knowledge about the structure and language of the soul to even understand it. Fairies and other spiritual beings can easily discern what type of person of a being is by just looking to the soul due to having an instinctive knowledge for it.
So when she saw her, she also saw her soul. And she was surprised about the girl's potential.
'She was beloved by the spirits!' She thought at that time.
And she can see it because a lot of minor nature elementals are gathering at her and trying their best to cheer her up. Though being minor elementals, they aren't corporeal at all and didn't have any defined form other than being a wisps of light to the eyes of those who can see spirits (like Doris).
Himeragi was born as a person who was loved by the spirits themselves. She have a great affinity to any types of spirits.
Sadly, she doesn't have any supernatural factor. So even if she have an innate ability like this, she can't even use it without using any medium at all.
It also became easy for Doris to see through her soul because she doesn't have any resistance for it. If it was any other mages, they would at least have some sort of resistance to soul sight.
Doris became quickly interested to the girl.
She thought that it was a waste for a girl like her to be a normal person in her lifetime. If she have any potential to be a part of the supernatural world, she will become quite a figure on it.
Because of Doris' curiosity, she decided to make her entourage stay on Tanegashima while she follows the girl to Tokyo.
And as time passes, she have become slowly attached to the girl. Seeing her being neglected because of her neglectful father and the people's harshness on her, she was also hurt at the girl's experience.
It seems like being a part spirit, she was also being affected by Himeragi's innate capability to be loved by the spirits.
Himeragi played a prank on those people to acquire self-satisfaction and also a small revenge for Himeragi. Sadly, it didn't help Himeragi's state at all.
She wanted to talk to Himeragi at least once. But being scared of her hunters, she have decided to just hide and look at Himeragi on the distance while helping her with her magic (with the help of her Fairy Chalice).
And then the day came when Himeragi did a suicide.
Doris saw the spirits mourning. Almost everywhere in Japan, the spirits were making a clamor about the death of Himeragi. It was to the point that the Japanese Gods might take notice of it.
Doris also notice that she felt an emotional pain that she can't explain after learning about the death of Himeragi.
She would have dismissed the death of a person normally, but in this case, she have grown too attached to the girl.
So in her confused heart, she have decided to "Save" her. In her own way of course.
She is still loyal to her nature as the Fairy of Mischief. She won't lie on her own nature.
For her, playing is still one of her priorities. Having the freedom to do so is her main goal to achieve that.
So she came to her father and made a deal with him.
She will personally revive the girl and turn her into a fairy. To do this, she will have to impart a part of her soul to the girl.
Himeragi's soul was already slipping off and was coming to the Afterlife. It will take a short time before the one in charge of the deceased in Japan gets to this place and guide Himeragi's soul to the Sanzu River.
So without hesitation, she took a part of her soul and also use one of her Fairy Chalice as a medium to revive her fully and also change her soul so she can use magic normally.
No one can give someone a supernatural factor so long as they live. It would only be possible if they are only a defenseless soul.
The physical body acts as a defining product for the existence's soul. By taking off the physical body, a drifting soul can be considered as an exposed blueprint that can be edited by anyone who can manipulate it.
Doris was especially good at the matters of soul. She can easily manipulate it so long as it is a stray and defenseless soul.
Because of her actions, Himeragi was reborn into a fairy. Though she doesn't have any recollection of her past life, she have become an intelligent fairy.
'I am glad I have met you, little princess. Without you, I might have been still drifting off to this mortal world, looking for a place for us fairies to settle.' Doris thought with a satisfied expression. 'As for your father, it doesn't matter what he believes in. He doesn't deserve your love.' She thought as she scorned the old guy internally. 'This kind of life is great. And by becoming one of us, I manage to interact with you.'
For Doris, their gameplay which is brainwashing the humans to become their champions and fight for their own name is just a bonding time for the two of them.
She was amuse that Himeragi was trying hard to defeat her. She can only see her as that cute little sister who tries too hard to impress her big sister.
The type of game they are playing is like a little war. She holds Nishinoomote and Himeragi holds Nakatane. The other city on the south is just a neutral area so no one holds it at all.
Every August, they are going to pick a group of humans on the festival that she personally made up. Then they will give them armaments that the fairies personally created before letting them duke it out on the other side's chosen forces. Then, those year's chosen human who made a great deed on that battle will be crowned as that year's champion by the leader of that side. Basically, these people will be known as the Hero of that year and they will have the privileged to stay at their fairy den for the rest of their lives.
Those who are not chosen after the war will have their memories wiped out and taken back to the city.
Himeragi doesn't know this. She still didn't know that all of the fairies that supported her are also Doris' entourage. They are the one doing the brainwashing so they became amicable to the newbie fairy.
Anyway, even if it was called a war, no one was really killed in the battle. They will be hurt or something but Doris stated that she won't kill a person as stated by her contract to Himeragi's father, Kiritsuba. Even if it was indirectly.
For Doris, this is her prank to the humankind as revenge for causing Himeragi to be cornered and cause her own suicide.
She wanted Himeragi to have fun playing with the humans, just like how they make fun of her because of her neglectful father.
She was really faithful to her nature as a Fairy of Mischief. Malicious but childish.
"Let's play together forever. We will be playmates for eternity." She mutters to herself in a heartfelt manner.
Shion and Ayame entered the giant tree that was the den of Doris after they have disabled all the wards and the barriers concealing this large tree.
As they got inside, they were greeted by the sight of Doris sitting on her throne made of enchanted wood and her entourage of fairies lined up on both of her sides.
"I see, so you manage to reach my abode." Doris said while looking down on them.
"I don't have time for your nonsense! Tell us where is Towa's pet!" Shion quickly go straight to the point with an irritated look.
It makes Doris surprise because Shion can still talk. She thought she was busy doing the dispelling chant.
She decided to shelved that thought for later as she replies to Shion.
"That Hellspawn? Why do you care about that vulgar creature?" She ask with a clear disgust in her tone.
"You don't even know what kind beast it is. Just give it back to us before something bad happens." Shion warned her with a serious look.
"Are you threatening me?" The self proclaimed fairy queen said with her eyes narrowing at the magician's way.
"I don't care what you thought about my words. I want you to give Bibi back to us." Shion said back with a hostile tone.
"... I can't understand..."
"What?" Shion asks in a slightly miffed tone as she heard Doris says that.
"Why do you care about that devil? Aren't you a human?" Doris asks with a clear hint of curiosity in her face.
Shion just smirked at her when she heard her question.
"So your not that big of a deal after all." Shion said with a mocking tone.
"... What are you implying?" Doris asks in a threatening tone.
"You can't even tell?" Shion said in a smug tone. "I am not a normal human. I am a denizen of the Demonic Realm (Makai)." She said with a proud tone.
"... What!?" Doris was surprised when she heard what Shion said.
Makai, or on the other countries they are also known as the Demonic Realm.
It is a place where most demonic and monstrous beings from Asia lives in this age. It is created by Izanami, the goddess who fall from her grace after being sealed inside the Netherworld.
Residents of these place mostly lives off of the supernatural energies that makes up the world. Like Mana, Spiritual Energies, Chi, Nether, etc.
It would be impossible for a denizen of that place to live in this world, mostly because this world have a low concentration of those necessary energies they need to sustain their existence.
Doris's shocked expression slowly turned into that of disgust.
"I see... now I understand." She said while looking at the two girls confronting her. "You both are also the same as that vile creature. It totally makes sense now." Doris spat at them in clear hatred.
It was also the case for the other fairies. They are also looking at Shion with a clear hostility in them.
Fairies hates demons and anything related to it. They are opposed to each other.
Though they are both malicious towards the humans, their methods are different. Fairies only played on those humans who got lost on their abode, but they didn't kill them or anything. Demons are much more dangerous. They will toy with a human's life and torture them with whatever methods they can think of just for the pleasure of it.
Basically, demons are much more terrifying than fairies.
And fairies hates demons because unlike the fairies, demons have a long history of having a conflict with basically every races known to this world. They even have the gall to challenge gods because the demons are prideful of themselves.
There is a history of demons destroying some of the fairy's habitats so their hatred is justified. Many beings hates demons because they love to destroy anything.
Anyway, Shion doesn't care about her hatred. She thinks it was natural for them to hate her fellow denizens.
"Anyway, I want Bibi back. So just give it up and tell us where is it." Shion said to the fairy.
"Heh... I refuse!" Doris said in rejection. "Knowing that both of you aren't humans, I must be more decisive! I shall have your head for daring to step upon my abode!" Doris declared in hostility. "Line up my sisters, for we shall vanquish the evil that appeared before us!" She said as she pointed at Shion's way. "Strike them down!" She ordered.
The fairies move as one, some of them taking the chalice that they are holding and raising it above them. Some of those who weren't holding anything took in the overflowing Mana that the chalice was producing and using it to enact their will to the world.
Doris has also stood up on her throne. She was reciting a language only known to a fairy.
While that is happening...
"So that is your source of power huh... I didn't thought you hold a lot of it." Shion said without feeling impressed about it.
She can see that it was overflowing with water. The water seems to be made by the fairies themselves. Then those normal water turned into a water brimming with Mana when it gets inside the chalice.
It seems like this artifact doesn't have a limit. A real ancient artifact with it's production lost in time.
The Mana on these waters were then absorbed by these fairies so they can use it as their source of power to enact their will.
To demonstrate, the fairies have summoned sentient elementals on their way. Examples are the giant humanoid flames, giant humanoid waters, moving golems, and even a humanoid figure shroud in gale.
These elementals came from the minor spirits surrounding these whole world. They have been given form by the fairies so they can interact with this world. Because the fairies are the one who summoned them, they need to obey the will of those fairies.
So without questioning it, they just move to strike down Shion and Ayame.
"Leave it to me!" Ayame moves forward and then took hold of her two sheathed Katanas. "My Ashura and Rasetsu will finish these up in a mere moment." She said in a boastful tone.
But she didn't get any chance to do that as two astral figures behind her appeared. These are her familiars that appeared besides her.
One of her familiar, an angry looking dog with a pair of horns, flies through the enemies and quickly swipes through them like a wind reaping through it's surroundings.
Her other familiar, a circular eyed dog with a pair of horns, goes around the other side of the enemies and rains fireballs on them.
These two are her personal spirit familiars. The angry looking one is Karma and the circular eyed one is Shiranui.
Karma is quick. His movement was like a Wind Weasel (Kamaitachi) who have come to reap through it's victim. Each time he passes through an elemental, they were left cut in half like they were grasses being reaped by a sickle.
Shiranui was using flames that can burn the soul. So the elementals, even those who are made of fire, are affected. Due to these elementals being just minor spirits so they are greatly affected by the soul burning fires and they can only flail around as they try cope with the pain.
In just a moment, the elementals that the fairies have called forth were gone. They are either sliced in half or burned into their nonexistent ashes.
"... Or the two of you can just take care of it." Ayame said with some disappointment on her tone as she takes off her hold on her sword.
Her excitement about finally being able to fight was gone once again.
"It's not your time to fight... again..." Shion muttered while feeling somewhat bad at the depressed Oni.
This seems to always happen anytime she tries to fight. Somehow, her familiars will take care of everything before she even have the time to fight herself. And even when she was the only one who was gonna fight, somehow something will happen that will interrupt her action, causing her to be unable to fight at all.
Ayame was waiting for the time to be able to fight properly. She was getting depressed about not being able to have a good fight since coming to this world.
"Anyway, it seems like they are not done." Shion said as she look at the fairies.
They have tried to summon another set of elementals on their way.
Ayame's familiars quickly got to work. They go around to destroy all those familiars.
After they have finished up all the elementals again, Karma tried dashing through one of the fairies summoning these elementals.
But it seems like he can't do that as some invisible wall blocks him. Causing him to be deflected somewhere.
"I see... a type of barrier huh..." Shion muttered to herself.
"Wait. I think my blade can cut through those barriers!" Ayame said with some excitement coming back to her.
"Hmm... then, maybe you should do so." Shion replied in a nonchalant tone.
"Yes!" Ayame eagerly replied before she unsheathed her Katana. "Finally, I can experience a real combat in this world." She said in excitement before moving towards one of the fairies.
Another wave of elementals blocks her way but her familiars quickly cleared the path so she can strike through those barriers.
"My Ashura shall cut through those barrier!" Ayame said as she weaves through the path and then slashes to the nearby fairy.
An translucent field appears in front of her, seemingly trying to block her strike. But like a butter, it was cut through with her blade and goes straight to the defenseless fairy.
... Or it should be if not for that fairy to disappear into motes of light and move to another direction.
"Wha!?" Ayame exclaimed in surprise as she felt something pushes her back, causing her to take several steps backwards.
Shion's eyes narrowed as she saw what happened.
"Those barriers... are restoring itself." She said while feeling annoyed at this new fact.
Ayame tried to strike into the barrier. It was cut through easily but it easily mended itself. Also, it releases a mysterious force that causes Ayame to be pushed back. So the barrier will have a time to mend itself.
Karma wanted to take care of getting pass the barrier after his Young Lady cuts through it but it seems like the elementals are hindering it by intentionally targeting Ayame. Shiranui can't handle the sheer amount of elementals that the fairies are summoning alone. So it can only help her as his Young Lady take care of the barrier.
And the action seems futile. Shion can't also move that much because she was busy prepping for her spell. So she also needs to be protected.
So Ayame was left with just attacking the barriers futilely.
"So we are taken by their trap huh..." Shion muttered to herself, still unimpressed by whatever is happening. "And it seems like that wannabe fairy queen is done with her chant." Shion said while looking at Doris in a mocking manner.
"You still dare to gaze at me like that. Don't you see how much you are at a disadvantage!?" Doris said in a mocking tone. "You have step into my trap! And it's all because of your arrogance!" Doris said in contempt. "Well, that was only to be expected from a vile creature like you. Now then, it is time for you to meet your end!" Doris stated as she raises her hand. "[Fairy Judgement]!"
A large circle appeared on the field where Ayame and Shion are standing. These large magical circle shines brightly before it shoots up a bright light that hits to the ceiling of this tree house. It passes through the ceiling and the light goes straight to the sky, piercing the cloud and going pass the planet itself.
Fairy Judgement, it is a type of magic that causes those hit by it to have their souls harmed greatly. The magic can also physically burn the body. Normal people will essentially cease to existence because they don't have any resistance to the supernatural.
Even a high ranking spirit will be harmed by this if they are hit by it. Even with their resistance, Fairy Judgement can just ignore it and hurt them.
"Hmph! What a futile struggle... huh!?" Doris was surprised when she saw the aftermath of the scene.
On there are Shion and Ayame who are still standing without any scratch on their body.
"Oh... that was a close one. Thanks, Ayame!"
"Ah, don't worry about it."
The two of them chatted like that normally like nothing happened at all.
"How did that happen!?" Doris asks in surprise and anger.
"Hm? Why should I tell you? Do you think I am dumb?" Shion said in a mocking tone.
As to how they survive, it was because of Ayame's blade, Ashura.
Ashura is a sword that can cut through anything. The sword was made to essentially destroy what it manage to interact to.
When the light of judgement shines through them, Ayame simply swings her sword, cancelling the effects of the spell that Doris casted.
"... It doesn't matter. You still won't be able to get pass through. I have unlimited amounts of power! I can do this for eternity while the both of you are futilely fighting against it!" Doris said in a highly manner. "Just give it up and make me give you a painless death!" Doris said, sure of her victory.
"Hm? You saying something?" Shion said while she looks at her smugly.
"... What do you mean by that?" Doris ask with a threatening tone.
"Are you sure you have unlimited amount of power. Because it seems to me that you have already exhausted yourself." Shion said with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Huh?" Doris muttered in shocked as she suddenly felt lethargic. "What is happening...?" She asks in confusion as she kneeled to the ground in weakness.
She can't understand. She have twenty Fairy Chalices that she prepared on her confrontation against Shion. She have prepared that much to make sure that she can defeat whoever was invading them.
She was a cautious person. Thanks to this cautious nature so she still manage to survive even with those group of fairy killers hunting her group.
But she can't understand. She wasn't recovering any of her strength at all.
She glared at Shion's way only to be surprised when she get a glimpse of another Shion behind the witch. She tried to shakes her head and look at Shion again to see that she was the only one there along with Ayame.
'... What is that...?' Doris thought to herself in confusion. 'No, it's just my imagination.' Doris concluded to herself internally.
She was still wondering how she was not recovering her strength. There should be a lot of Fairy Chalice being held by her fairies.
She looks at the fairies lined up on her side and was surprised when she saw them looking around, the Fairy Chalices on their hand is gone.
"Huh!?"
She tried to look at each of the fairies in charge of holding the chalice. But none of them are holding anything at all.
"How did this happen!?" Doris ask while feeling astounded at this turn of events. "Where are the Fairy Chalices!?" Doris asks loudly.
"Huh? Are you looking for this?" Shion said as she presented one of the chalice in her hand.
Doris turned to Shion's way and she was surprised to see the chalice in her hand.
"... How!?" She asks in confusion.
"I won't tell you of course!" Shion said with a smug tone.
'Shion is at it again. She was showing off her own superiority against the others.' Ayame thought to herself with a relaxed smile.
Ayame knows what Shion did. It was Shion's unique magic after all.
What she did is pretty complicated. It is a type of spell that she can only do to herself.
It was a branch of Time Manipulation. Shion calls this as Self Paradox.
Self Paradox is a type of Time Magic that enables her to exist in different places on the same timeframe. All of them are her, but it can also be said that the "Shion" that were existing alongside her were also fakes.
Basically, Shion have achieved a higher form of spell that enables her to cause a paradox. She manage to split versions of herself by manipulating time itself.
To further explain it, Self Paradox is a spell that gives her the ability to move through any possibility that she thinks of doing.
For example, she can either move left or right. By using Self Paradox, she can experience moving on both sides. Whatever she have done there, she also experience on the other her that did things differently.
Currently, Shion can experience up to five perspectives. She uses one to continue the dispelling chant so the fairies can't create any traps (though the barrier one seems to be impossible to be dispelled because a lot of fairies are maintaining it), the other her was just a decoy so the fairies focuses themselves on her, the other three passes through the barrier just after Ayame cuts through the barrier.
They can't see through those Shions because they exist in another possibility. But the actions of those Shions affects the original Shion in this world.
So whatever she took in that possibility, she really possesses in this world.
Doris manage to get a glimpse of one of the possibilities of Shion due to the lines of alternate timelines blurring itself due to Shion's usage of this magic.
It causes the time and space to be distorted and reality itself was trying to repair it. Doris, being a high ranking fairy, have a high affinity to the world so she have some connection to this world. This makes it possible for her to see the hidden workings of this reality, just like seeing other possibilities when the barrier that separates those are being broken.
Only Shion can use this magic. It was a magic that she discovered and refined to herself after thoroughly researching anything about the demons specializing in manipulating time, Gremlins.
"You are outmatched! You really should just give up and tell us where is Bibi!" Shion demanded to her, not caring about the opinion of the fairy.
"... Hmph!" Doris snorted in contempt. "You want to see that vulgar thing? Very well, you shall meet it then!" Doris stated with a glare. "Rejoice at your reunion!" She said as she raises her hand.
"... What are you doing!" Shion asks while her other possibility was already moving to apprehend Doris.
"Hm? I am letting you see that Hellspawn of course!" Doris said with a grin as she swipes her raised hand down.
That action seems to be the sign as the ground suddenly trembles.
Then a roar that can only be explained as something that came to the abyss resounded on the whole area.
This causes Shion and Ayame to almost stumble on the floor. They quickly righted their footing as Shion glared at Doris' way.
"What did you do!?" She asks in annoyance as her other possibilities are chanting a spell to take hold of the fairies.
"Nothing... I just infused my remaining Fairy Chalices on that vulgar creature." Doris answered in a relaxed tone.
"... Are you crazy!?" Shion said in anger. "Do you know what you have just done!?" She said in indignation.
"Huh? Well, I am sure it was a dangerous move. A lot of casualties will occur on it's wake." Doris replied like that in a calm manner. "But..." She said before grinning on her way. "That won't be my fault! It will be you demons fault!" She said in glee as her eyes lit up maliciously.
"... You don't know what you have just unleashed." Shion muttered to herself with a click of her tongue.
"Anyway, that's it for now. I'll be taking my leave then." Doris said as she slowly turned into motes of light.
"Tch! I almost got her!" Shion spat in anger.
The other fairies also tried to follow Doris but before they could do that, they felt something restricting them from turning into particles of light.
This is happening because the other Shions were just done on casting a spell that can bind these fairies so they can't use their dematerialization.
The fairies who were confident that they can flee along with Doris grew scared when they realized this fact. They are scared because of the Hellspawn that will get to this floor in a swift manner.
"... This is bad." Shion said to herself.
"Yes..." Ayame also agreed to her.
As the both of them waited anxiously, the sounds of heavy footsteps resounded. It was getting near them.
"... W-we should run away!" One of the fairies said in fear.
"Neeeeeee? Isn't this your fault to begin with?" Shion rebukes that fairy in annoyance.
"B-but..."
While that fairy is trying to convince them to run, the other fairies are trembling in fear, with some of them already crying.
"Tch! These fairies and their childish antics!" Shion groaned under her breathe.
As she said, fairies are inherently childish. So of course they see this as just some sort of game.
With their life being in danger, of course they will cry like that. Even if they are immortals, they still don't want to get brutally murdered. That was too much even for them who are just looking for something fun to do.
Their sight focuses again on the throne and saw something breaking through the wall behind it.
"It's here." Shion said with a grave tone.
After she said that, the wall made of enchanted wood was ripped open. Inside the large gash on the wooden wall behind the throne, a crimson gaze seething with anger and insanity can be seen. The gaze was directed at them.
Then a primal roar that can pierce through even the soul resounded on the whole surroundings. It was a roar that conveys it's berserk state.
"This is totally not good..." Ayame muttered to herself as she readied herself.
"That stupid fairy really did it! She was messing with the wrong monster here!" Shion said with some rigidness in her speech.
The beast shows it's figure as it steps forward. The enchanted wood collapsing on it's movement like it wasn't there at all.
It was a quadrupedal beasts that easily reaches ten meters in length. It seems like it can also walk with only two of it's legs, as seen by it using two of it's front claw leaning on the destroyed wall like it was a railing.
It was a creature with a purplish fur. It's beastly feature barely resembles a feline species. It also have a long tail. It's pair of crimson glowing eyes were glaring at everything in rage.
"... Well, I am asking to fight someone. I didn't thought this would be my very first fight in this world..." Ayame muttered to herself while feeling somewhat anxious about this.
The figure of the beast in front of them is the one they are looking for. Tokoyami Towa's pet guardian, Bibi.
Or in the Spiritual World, Demonic Realm, Hell, and any mythological and theological realms, this beast was known as the Unnamed Beast of the End.
The tenth strongest and scariest beast capable of wiping out the whole demonkind.
With a groan, the last of the armed warriors fell after being touch on his nape by Choco's hand.
"That's the last of them." Choco muttered to herself before she looks around.
On her side, she can see Rushia who was relaxing besides a tree while Ollie was there hopping around anywhere, proclaiming her victory in an enthusiastic manner.
"Now then, let's go and chase after Shi-!?" She was interrupted with her speech when she felt terrifying aura deep within the forest.
Rushia's relaxed stance became stiff while Ollie just stop hopping around, curiously tilting her head because of that intense feeling.
"... Don't tell me..." Choco muttered with a grave expression.
After she muttered that, a pulse of demonic force bursts deep within the forest before a screeching explosion occurs within it. The ground shook after this explosion occurs.
"WAAAAH!" Ollie stumbled on the ground and fell on it face first.
Rushia and Choco manage to stabilized their footing while they focused their sights on the direction where Shion and Ayame have gone to.
"... The Beast of the End has release it's seal. This is a dire situation." Choco said with an unusually serious tone.
Rushia just nodded at her words as she stares at the direction where they are feeling that malicious aura.
The Unnamed Beast of the End is a beast not even mentioned from any theological or mythical books. It was only known to those who are living on the non human realms (like the Demonic Realm or the Spiritual World).
A beast capable of destroying all the demonkind. No one wanted to face this beast due to it's sheer power and ferociousness towards anything that is moving.
The denizens of Hell are even scared of it. They don't want to be devoured by that kind of beast.
It vanished on Hell some thousands of years ago due to unknown reasons. Shion and the others were surprised when they found that it was now a pet guardian of a common devil. They don't know the reason why this beast have stayed in it's current cap form for Towa.
But now that they can feel a terrifying aura that seems to cover the whole of this island, they can only conclude that it was that beast who was doing this.
They don't want that beast to release it's seal on itself. They were warned by the elder denizens of Makai that it was a dangerous being capable of wiping out the demonkind. Even Gods are hesitant to touch it.
"WHAT WAS THAT? IS THERE AN EARTHQUAKE? DO WE NEED TO FIND A SHELTER!?" Ollie stood up and ask that with her signature loud and cheerful voice.
Choco and Rushia look at each other. Then Choco told Rushia.
"Take these people out of this place, we need to try stopping that bea-!"
But before she can finish her sentence, she heard a high pitch scream coming from above.
Looking up, she saw Shion flailing on the sky in an uncertain spin. It's like she was thrown on this place like a baseball being pitch.
"AH! I GOT HER I GOT HEE-OOOF!" Ollie quickly tried to catch her up.
She manages to but the momentum of Shion's fall made her fall on her back and slid on the ground in a few meters.
"Shion! Are you okay?" Choco quickly come to her side and ask that in concern.
"Ugh... How am I okay with that?" Shion ask in annoyance as she stood up and dusted herself.
"What happened? Where is Ayame?" Choco asks with a serious look.
"Annoying things happened. That fairy queen wannabe managed to escape and she did something to cause that Unnamed Beast to go berserk. I told Ayame to take care of the fairies while I hold the beast off. I thought I can do that because of my mastery on my Unique Magic..." Shion said all of that before feeling a bit down on it. "... But that Beast... Bibi is too fast for me to keep up." She said with a bit of an offended tone.
Shion's Self Paradox is what she prided herself in. She wasn't defeated yet because of her Unique Magic. But Bibi was getting stronger due to the Fairy Chalices inside it so Shion can't handle the beast and was hit by one of it's swipe.
"... What about those fairies?" Choco asks.
"Ayame was looking out for them." Shion simply answered.
Choco nodded to her words before looking on the direction where Bibi seems to be located.
Choco understood why Shion wanted to save the fairies even though they are the one at fault here.
The fairies are childish. Though they are most of the time malicious, they mostly do it without thinking about the consequences later on. For them, it's just for fun.
Excluding intelligent fairies, common fairies won't consciously go over the line like killing a human or burning the forest just because it's fun. They will make someone's life miserable due to a prank but that's because they don't know they are making their victim's life worse with their antics.
That's how childish they are.
If it's fun, they will do it. It just came to the fact that they like playing malicious pranks on humans.
But even with this fact, it's not good to kill them just because of what they are doing.
So Shion decided to spare the fairies even after all the things they have done in this place.
Currently, they are somewhere in the forest along with Ayame. The Oni was there to look out for them so they won't escape.
"... You manage to draw Bibi's attention to you. As expected of one of the best students of the Demonic Realm Academy." Choco muttered to herself with a bit of a pride before she focuses her senses to their current problem. "Anyway, is it possible to turn that Beast of the End back to it's senses?" She asks to the witch.
"It is possible but..." Shion said with a bit of a miffed tone. "... I can't stun Bibi enough to have any time to extract those artifacts out of it's body." She said with a frown.
"... Then we should just beat Bibi up until it was weak enough to extract those artifacts huh..." Choco said with a grim expression.
That would be impossible for them. Even if they are at their peak power, they will still be defeated by the Beast of the End. They won't even leave a scratch to that beast.
So it was more than impossible for their current status because of this world. They don't have access to their full power due to them only relying on artifacts to supply their use of magic.
"... Well, the Beast of the End is still not in it's true form. So I think we still have a chance." Shion said that to give some comfort to them.
"Yes... I can see that..." Choco replied with her rigidness lessening for a bit.
The one that they know is a being that easily encompasses half of the Solar System in this world. Hell is more vast than the observable universe so a being like that can live on Hell.
So by not seeing something so humongous in their eyes, it was easy to say that Bibi is still not in it's true form.
Their musings were interrupted as they feel the ground shaking repeatedly. The booming footsteps getting closer to their position.
"It's coming here!" Choco warned to the others.
All of them quickly sharpened their gaze on that direction (excluding Ollie who was still trying to dust herself off after catching Shion's fall).
"Ollie, take these people out of this place. It's preferable if it's somewhere safe." Rushia quickly ordered the zombie who was just done dusting herself.
"I'LL DO IT! HERE WE GO! DOUBLE TIME!" Ollie enthusiastically replied like there wasn't anything grave happening at all.
With inhuman speed and strength, Ollie quickly bunched the fourteen downed warriors and carried them all on her back before she rushes out of this place while leaving dusts on her wake.
The three of them didn't care to look at that because they can see trees being broken on the distance.
The large feline-like beast quickly shows it's appearance to them while smashing through the trees like they are just paper. It's size seems to have increase by five meters.
"... And it seems like Bibi was accumulating more power." Shion said with a frown.
"Then that means we should quickly take those chalices out of his body!" Rushia exclaimed as she prepared her spells to weaken the beast.
With that, they started a new battle, this time with the most terrifying beast.
While that is happening, Towa and Fubuki felt something on that direction.
"What is that?" Fubuki ask in curiosity.
She is still new to this kind of stuff (due to having no memories of her past life). So she doesn't know this malicious feeling.
"... This familiar aura..." Towa muttered to herself before she have a realization. "Bibi!?" She exclaimed in surprise.
After that realization, her feet just moves by itself. She runs to that direction without any prompting at all.
"... Wait, Towa!" Fubuki quickly followed the devil.

Sorry for the long delay. This one was supposed to be long (again) but I thought that I should just put it on the next chapter.
So yeah... because nothing was put on Bibi's background other than being Towa's pet guardian so I took some liberties for it's background.
It just ended up like that.
