Harley and his dad were eating somewhere. Some diner.
"Harley..." There was a pause. "Your mom told me you have been getting into a lot of trouble at school today. You have been bullying some poor girl."
"Yeah, well... she started it!" Harley yelled.
"I don't care if she started it, you don't bully, harass, and call names to other people.
"But she stole my snacky!" Harley and his father have been over this before.
"...Harley, you are making this hard. Catherine's (the girl's) parents have complained about you. If you don't stop this, you'll be expelled. We've talked about this. You talked about this with your mom."
There was a long silence.
"Now, I hope you get this message. Otherwise, I don't think your mom will let you watch TV anymore. She might not let you visit your friend, Cacnea, either. You will have to be home schooled."
There was another long silence.
"...Well, ...with Randy and me, we won't see you much anymore. ...Would you like a new Pokemon to keep you company?"
"I don't want a new Pokemon! I want you!" Harley yelled.
"Well, if things happen like I think they will, you won't see me anymore."
"But I want you with me, dad!" Harley yelled again.
There was a silence. Lucky (his father) called over a waitress.
"Oh, waitress... we're all done here. Can you bring me the bill?"
"Right away."
"Thank you..."
Then the waitress came back. They paid the bill, and they left. They walked home.
They came across one lone Shuppet. It was floating by the sidewalk. It was going somewhere, but it didn't know where it was going. It looked like it was searching for something.
"Look, dad! A Shuppet!" Harley ran up to it. "Hello! I'm Harley!"
The Shuppet looked up at Harley. Its jaded eyes gave a sense of loneliness and despair. It didn't know who Harley was, and was afraid. And yet... it was joyed, that someone noticed it.
"What's the matter? Are you lost? Why are you sad?"
Shuppet only stared. It had nowhere to go. But if he didn't go anywhere, he couldn't find who he wanted. If that were even possible.
"Hey now... Why don't we take this little Pokemon home?" Lucky said.
Harley looked at Shuppet. "Well, how about it? Do you want to go home with me?"
Shuppet didn't know what to do. But this kid seemed nice. And a new home wouldn't be too bad. Shuppet thought on this, and then made a decision. "Shuppet!" It had said yes. It smiled.
"Great!" Harley hugged it. "We're going home, then!"
And they went home.
Scene
They walked into their home. Harley ran and turned on the TV. Lucky sat down and watched too.
Summer Breeze (his mom) walked in. She had a blank expression on her face, but then it turned into a grimace. She saw the new Pokémon sitting (like a puppet) beside Harley.
"Harley has a Shuppet now? Where did he get it?"
Lucky looked at his now in the middle of divorcing wife. "He found it on the side of the road. I let him take it home."
"Why would you do that? We don't need a Pokémon in our house."
"Look, just let him have it."
"But what if it's diseased? And how will we even feed it?"
"It's not diseased. And we stopped by to a Poké mart and bought it some food. Besides, with me being with Randy now... who knows what will happen. We may move far away. And this Pokémon may need to keep him company while I'm gone. Let him have it."
"You... you want to abandon your son!? And move in with that man-of-a-slut, Randy?"
"Look, I'm bisexual! You and me are divorced, and I'm with Randy now! I don't know where things will move now, but if Randy wants me to move, I'll follow him to the ends of the earth!"
"But why would you abandon your son! The son who you raised since birth! And your other children! Why do you abandon them too!? You son of a bitch! You asshole! You slut!"
You know what? I am a slut! I don't care. I don't need to listen to you anymore, I'm out of here!"
He got up and walked off.
Summer Breeze screamed some more profanity at him, but Lucky went to his car, and drove away.
