Chapter 50 : Going to Kyoto
September 1, 2035. Wednesday.
Early in the morning. Ayumi woke up and quickly took care of the chores by using her Psychokinesis. She also did the cooking and taking out the trashes all at the same time.
While doing that with her psychic powers, she also go to the bath to wash herself.
After doing all of that and making sure that everything is done through her psychic grasps and analysis, she called up Fubuki and Himeragi to eat breakfast with her.
It took awhile before the two are finally up and going downstairs. It seems like the two are looking forward for the breakfast. Everything that Ayumi cooks are delicious so this also became an important part of their day.
"Good morning!~"
Fubuki is the only one who greeted her. Himeragi just nodded at her way.
After that, they started eating.
"Hm! Today's breakfast is also delicious!" Fubuki praised in joy.
Himeragi is silently eating it though her satisfaction is very noticeable, as seen from the way she eats in a gusto.
While they are eating, Ayumi was thinking about what to do next. She recalls that Coco accidentally arrives at her doorstep (in an aggressive way).
She still felt that Coco is in danger.
A quest wasn't prompting up in front of her vision but she was sure that something bad is going to happen. It's just her gut feeling.
She wanted to believe this gut feeling. Because this gut feeling was the same feeling she have when Matsuri goes to Tanegashima.
Having got to that point, Ayumi decided to declare her next plan for this day.
"Fubuki, Hineragi-san, I will be leaving for awhile. Can I ask you to stay here while waiting for me?" Ayumi says to the two of them.
She decided to follow Coco.
Based on her prediction, it seems like Coco might be heading west of Yokohama. So it's either she is going to Nagoya (the nearest region), or maybe to Fukuoka (the farthest one).
Though she have a gut feeling that it was somewhere between Osaka and Shiga. Which means she might be going to Kyoto.
Using her Psychokinesis and Analysis, she manage to easily identify Coco on the far distance. It seems like she really is located on Kyoto based on the estimated distance that she is feeling.
She doesn't know what she needs to do in there. Still, she wanted to be sure that nothing bad will happen to her.
"Hm? Why so sudden?"
Fubuki asks with a tilt of her head. She is curious about Ayumi's decision to go out on a trip once again.
"Err... do you remember about our visitor last night?" She asks and seeing Fubuki nodding, she continues. "I am worried about her." She honestly says to her.
She doesn't know what excuse she will give to them. She can't say that she knows Coco from her past life and she wanted to help her because she was obligated to do so (because of her quest).
She also admires all of them despite barely knowing any of them. They are popular in her former life, which warrants her amazement to them.
She is even getting her courage because she was inspired by them. So for her, it was natural to help them even without her quests.
There is also the subconscious part inside her that was still looking for any attachment in her past life. Even the ones that she barely knows.
Fubuki took a moment to blink her eyes before she gave a smile to her.
"... Okay." She said in acceptance.
Ayumi is surprised. She didn't thought that Fubuki will just accept it like that.
"Uhm... I'm sorry if I can't tell you the reason." Ayumi said apologetically.
"It's okay." Fubuki smiled at her gently.
The fox girl seems to be understanding of her situation. She is glad about that.
"While I am gone. Can please behave and stay here. It would be bad if someone saw you while I was gone."
Ayumi thought of taking them together with her on her trip, but she decided against it. Himeragi is here and she didn't want the fairy to suddenly cause some trouble.
The fairy seems to hate everyone right now. So it is impossible to just take her outside and hope that she'll behave.
Himeragi looks at her and just snorted while turning her head to the side. By the use of her Prediction, she can tell that Himeragi also didn't want to go outside right now.
"Okay. Leave it to me!~"
Seeing the fox girl being determined to do it, Ayumi is glad.
"I have left a lot of money on your account. Please remember to use your concealing hood if you are going to ask for a delivery."
"Of course."
After she is sure that they will be safe for now, they continue eating.
She really didn't need any preparations to go to Kyoto. She can easily get back on her house using her Portals.
She just told Fubuki to take care of the house because she won't be occasionally going back as long as she is not sure if Coco is safe.
She didn't need any transportation. Just a rough coordinate is enough to get her to the city.
"Okay. Here goes!"
Inside her room, she opened a portal that leads to one of the rooftop buildings on Kyoto. She walks through it and immediately found herself in a different scenery.
It is still early in the morning and there are no people here just like in her Prediction. She quickly look below and see a sea of crowds busily walking through the streets and visiting whatever tourist attraction is in the city.
"This looks a bit different, but also not at the same time." Ayumi muttered.
In her past life, Kyoto is also known as a city full of tourist attraction. There are Shrines, Recreational Areas, and other things that can attract everyone regardless if they are Japanese or not.
She takes a cursory glance on the crowds and created a Portal besides them before entering it. She made sure that no one is looking at that exact time when she opened the Portal and walk amongst them.
"Okay. Time to look for Kiryu-san!"
Within a certain shrine on this city, there is a certain faction who lives within it. It's not Senryuu-dou who only owns this area.
This group have sensed someone coming inside their territory. A strange sort of energy that seems to be universal in nature.
They don't know who it is by they wanted to learn about it.
"Hanzo. Find out who it is."
"Understood."
A female in beautiful Japanese robes says that as she looks at the sky, looking at the sun with a cold expression. Behind her is a man clad in darkness.
The man clad in darkness quickly vanishes.
While that is happening, there are many factions who have also sensed the brief spike of power that occurs within this city. One of the people who felt it is the Thousand Year Dragonlord.
"Oh... she came huh... what does she want?"
He shakes his head.
"Whatever. I'll just ignore her until she does something to my turf."
Ayumi didn't know that she just disturb the boiling pot that is the status quo of the Other Side of this city. She didn't know that this is a place brimming with conflict.
She just walks around unaware of any of this.
