Chapter 2
Bobby's POV
Flashback
I was sitting down watching tv with a bottle of beer in my hand dosing off every now and again when there was an insistent knock on the door. Who would show up this late at night? I get up from the chair placing the beer on the clearest part of the coffee table before proceeding to the door to peep through the peephole.
"Hold your horses. I'm coming," I huff out loud before opening the door.
I grab some holy water from the table nearby and splash it on him right away. Dean runs a hand down his face to get rid of the water.
"I'm not a demon Bobby." he said wearily.
I pay his comment no mind and run all the other tests on him before letting him in my house. He just lets me do it and doesn't comment as if he didn't have the energy to protest. His eyes are very pink as if he ha cried not too long ago.
I take in his haggard appearance and simply said, "What are you doing here this late at night boy?"
He looks at me for a long time before turning around to head down the porch steps. "I'm sorry Bobby. I shouldn't have come. I'll go..."
I cut him off. "Boy, you're going to be the death of me. I didn't mean it like that. You know you're welcome here anytime. Come here boy."
I quickly grab his arm and turn him around before he could move any further. I mentally curse myself for the expressions going across his face usually covered up by a stoic mask before pulling him into a tight hug. He stiffens for a while then gradually returns the gesture. I reluctantly pull away after a few moments because I smell a whiff of beer and maybe his dislike of chick flick moments.
"Are you drunk?"
His head comes up from where he's looking at his shoes. "No... maybe a little bit. I didn't drive here though." Whack.
"Ow, what was that for?" he said rubbing his head where I hit him.
"For being a dumbass yuh idijit. Now go take a shower to sober up and tell me what has you looking like a kicked puppy. I'll put some clothes in the guest room for you to change into." He nods then heads to the bathroom.
Once he was finished taking a shower and getting dressed in the clothes I gave him, he came into the living room where I was at and took a seat across from me.
When he doesn't say anything for a while, I focus my eyes on him. "Boy what are yuh waiting for. Tell me what the hell is going on."
"Sammy and I had a fight today..." he said quietly as he continued to tell me what else was on his mind.
In the middle of telling me, he started pacing as if he were going to cry any second now as his voice got hoarser too. I got up to stop his pacing taking one of his shoulders in my hand and using the other to rub soothing circles into the back of his neck. As soon as his gaze settled on me, he let out the most gut wrenching sob I have ever heard as he began to cry. Not knowing what else to do I pulled him into a hug to which he pulled away from to wipe his tears to no avail because they kept falling.
"Come on. Let's get you settled into the guest room. Sound good?" He doesn't say anything but lets me guide him to the room. I pull down the sheets as he stans in the middle of the room looking lost. I motion for him to get in the bed and I pat him on the back as he passes me.
"Thanks Bobby. How long can I stay here?"
"Anytime. As long as you need however long you want. Get some sleep and stop crying before you make yourself sick. Trust me, it's not a pretty site."
"Bobby, will you stay until I fall asleep?"
"Sure buddy." I turn back around and pull out the chair located where a desk was with a laptop and sit near the bed where I proceeded to lay my feet on the bed. Once I see that he's asleep, I turn off the lamp light and step out the room leaving the door slightly ajar. One thing's for sure, Sam is going to get an earful from me if that's the last thing I do.
